Their process seemed a little too good to be true. After getting various quotes from a range of others, the price was all over the place from too cheap to extraordinarily expensive. Dr. Wheel is on the lower side of the equation. The other thing, they come to your house. Say what? Got me wondering how solid of a repair we were looking at. Well, once I dug into the process, saw that the work is warranted for a year, I figured I'd give them a shot. First, we had them do two aftermarket wheels which relatively minor damage. The result was pretty incredible. The wheels looked good as new and honestly, I couldn't remember where the blemishes were . Months later the wheels looked great. Today, we got four wheels on my wife's car done, all with curb rash to a varying degree and the result was great. The challenge today wasn't the damage, it actually wasn't super complex or extensive. It was the color. From the factory, the color is pretty unique, but the Dr. Wheel team got it pretty much exactly. A special shout out to Jonathan, who came out to our house twice and did a great job. Friendly, professional, thorough, and just an all around solid dude. Not that I hope to get more curb rash on any of our wheels (nor do I wish that for you!), but if we do, we will definitely go back to them. We've already referred them to a few neighbors.

So I am Driving down the Golden State #5 freeway at about 60 MPH. My Jeep hit one of the many potholes in the bumpy construction stretch of the road in Burbank. All of a sudden the car started vibrating so bad I thought that a wheel came off. I managed to pull over and get off the freeway only to find that everything looked intact. After consulting several friends with jeeps, I learned that I had experienced a common equipment failure that has lovingly become known to jeep owners as the "DEATH WOBBLE". I called Glendale Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep whom I had purchased the car from. I purchased the extended warranty but it covered only the drive train not the equipment involved with Death Wobble. My odometer read 73581 miles. They did agree to fix it if I paid for the parts. It was on Jan 28th,2015. I do not drive the jeep much, except on vacations and never off road. After a couple of months I went on vacation and found that I still had the dreaded Death Wobble. My son in law looked under the car and found lose bolts on the steering dampener which they had replaced. The Glendale Dealership again replaced the part, this time at no charge. Another couple of months and another vacation and another terrifying Death Wobble Experience. I had now lost faith with my jeep dealer and became desperate. Last summer I went to a customer appreciation day with a valley called Company 4 wheel Parts #15. I called and asked if they could fix my problem. The guy said yes, just bring it in and we will check it out. I made an appointment and took the car in. My odometer read 75360 miles. I had traveled 1,779 mile since my original service call for the problem with the Glendale, Chrysler and Jeep Dealership. Before I tell you what happened , a short side story is necessary. My son had bought a new jeep last summer and gave me his new spare tire when he upgraded to a larger size. Also my spare tire had never touched the ground. The 4 Wheel Parts #15 service manager explained that they would charge me $114.00 to check the car out and that the charge would be applied to their bill after the work was done. I happily agreed to pay the amount since I wanted the Death Wobble to go away and they seemed to have the answers. In addition I told the man that I had a new tire in the back seat from my son. I wanted to buy two new tires for the front of the jeep, and have my spare and my son's new tire placed on the back of my jeep in addition to having the death wobble corrected. They took the car and my wife took me home. The next day I received a cheerful call from the 4 Wheel Parts people. Good news, there was nothing wrong with my car. My ball joints might be a little loose but not worth replacing yet. Yes, my car was good. I said, but what about the Death Wobble? He said he could not find anything wrong with the car except maybe my tires were worn. He said maybe that might be the problem.. I said that I had asked them to sell me two new ones and mount the extra ones that I brought to them on the back. He told me that he could only sell me 4 new tires because the others were too old and that he did not know if new tires would solve my problem. I said so you are telling me I paid you $114.00 for you to tell me my car was fine and that you cannot guarantee the death wobble would be fixed even if I bought four new tires from you. He said yes that is true. I realized that these people were almost as inept as the Glendale, Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep people. I paid the $114.00 extortion money and retrieved my jeep. God finally smiled on me, I discovered World Famous 4X4 via yelp. They had many favorable reviews. I called for an appointment and dropped the jeep off. They were certain that they could find my problem and fix it. The owner name Kendrick boasted that they have fixed hundreds of jeeps with the same or similar problems. I believed him because there were so many jeeps, trucks and off road vehicles in their shop, I knew they had to be successful at what they were doing. They agreed to mount my two tires and to sell me two new ones with no problem. The next day they called and I picked up my jeep. They upgraded and replaced a tie rod, tire rod ends, a moog drag link, removed and replaced old steering components, aligned my front end, mounted, and balanced my tires. While paying my bill, they gave me a shop tee shirt with the World Famous 4X4 logo. I drove home over the same bumpy Golden State 5 freeway that started the problem. When the CHP was looking the other way, I drove over the bumps at 70 to 75 miles per hour with no hint of the Death Wobble. As I was typing this yelp review up this morning, Kendrick even called me to follow up and see if I was happy with their work. All I can say is "THANK YOU KENDRICK AND WORLD FAMOUS 4x4". read more

I came to World Famous 4X4 with a very unusual request... I'm in a wheelchair and, of course, I use a ramp to get in and out of my van. For reasons I won't get into, my particular ramp was designed and built by my dad. It is a custom, one-off creation, and I can't go to the typical wheelchair van type place for repairs. Recently, an idiot, paying NO attention to the road in front of them, drove into my ramp as I was putting it up, and then they drove off. The ramp was completely ripped from the van, smashed and demolished. I was desperate and panicked. I took it to World Famous 4X4. Henrik, and everyone else there was EXTREMELY helpful and kind. I know that most shops would have taken one look at something like my ramp and said, sorry but I can't help you. They wouldn't want to touch it. Henrik said, "Anything is possible." Using the manual my dad created, and their own hard work, genius and skill, they rebuilt my wheelchair ramp, and it is like new. I assumed it would take over a month, because of the complexity of the ramp, and the customization of it. They knew I relied on my van as my only means of transportation, (I can't just rent or borrow a car, or bum a ride from a friend.) and they took that into consideration and worked VERY FAST on it. They had it back to me in less than three weeks, and most of that time was taken waiting for an ordered part. Not their fault. They were thoughtful, and paid attention to my very specific needs. They worked well with my insurance. They even replaced my windshield that had an (unrelated) crack in it. I didn't ask them too. It was NOT part of the service request. They just did it because they cared about me, and wanted to help. Again, I know 99% of the auto repair - auto body - custom shops wouldn't have even dared to touch a fully custom, complex mechanical system, that is my wheelchair ramp. Ok let me start by saying Henrick is the man. So I took my truck to a fee places and kept getting diagnosis that were not only incorrect and expensive but a waste of time. Terrible experience after terrible experience with all these people in la who "knew" how to fix it and guaranteed prices ect only to leave me time and time again with a bill and them saying they don't know how to fix the problem. Smog issue in this case. I suck it up and bring it to world famous even though I know it's going to cost a little bit more at least these guys will know EXACTLY what to do and I should've just went there first instead of trying to be cheap and use people who don't have the knowhow. I take it to Henrick after a couple of days he calls and tells me exactly what's wrong with it and how much it will cost to fix! Oh and also he doesn't want to charge me for looking at it. Finally someone in this town who is on the level and a decent person who you can trust with your truck. I'll gladly pay a little bit extra knowing that he is doing the correct work professionally rather than have these other jokers guess and not get it right anyway. Complete waste of money. Jeep medic is a joke, the other shops I won't even mention and on and on trying to save a buck if I had just went there first it would've been done right away and saved me tons of days / money ect. I recently had the opportunity to take my wife's Santa Fe to World Famous 4x4. I spoke with Sierra about 6 months prior and she was genuinely eager to help me out with a labor quote. She spoke with the suspension manufacturer and recommended services that would provide us a complete package. The best part... She followed up. I've called other businesses and no one ever gets back to you. I could tell from this initial interaction that World Famous 4x4 understands the importance of providing excellent customer service. One just has to look through all the reviews here or on Google to understand why. The day I dropped off the wheel and tire package, I interacted with the service techs and I could tell they were a tight-knit group. Happy employees are a byproduct of great leadership and I had the chance to speak with the owner, Henrik, when the vehicle was done. Henrik not only lives, eats and breathes the off-roading and overlanding community, he takes the time to explain every benefit to a customer regarding a recommendation. No matter how big or small the job might be, he wants you to have the best possible experience. We ended up talking about all sorts of topics, just like a friend you've known for years. I don't even know where to start with this review, if I could give 6 stars I would. I have so many good things to say. First off, Henrik is the nicest guy you will ever meet. Not only did he accommodate what I asked him to do, he actually went above and beyond that as well. Most other shops would have said something along the lines of "sorry man, these parts didn't fit, figure it out and come back", but not this amazing place. Henrik and his awesome team custom made parts to make things fit. Also, shout out to Sierra, the amazing gal at front desk, she was super helpful and kind the entire time. Second, I didn't realize how expensive labor was going to be to put everything on, and Henrik was nice enough to negotiate with me at a price I felt comfortable with. And he didn't have to do that. What a solid dude. Third, they really know their stuff. I was really impressed with their level of knowledge. This is clearly the culmination of 30 years of passion there's no denying it. I feel like this is starting to sound like a paid advertisement but this is genuinely how I feel about this shop, you won't be disappointed if you come here. Not one bit. I live in NY and was in the market for a box style Chevy P/U. I managed to find a '87 Chevy, California truck, at a small custom shop in PA. While the sale went fairly smooth, upon trying to register the truck in NY, I discovered that there was an issue with the paperwork trail and NY wouldn't register my new truck. It seems that the PA shop never transferred ownership of the truck after they purchased it. After my rather uncomfortable visit with the NY DMV, I called the shop in PA and explained the situation to them. I'm just going to say that they seemed less than enthusiastic about helping me resolve my situation. Thankfully, World famous 4X4 had been the original purchaser and seller of of my truck, and their end of the paperwork seemed to be in order. I gave Henrick a call and once again explained my situation. Henrick remembered this particular truck and was more than happy to help me out of my situation. Keep in mind, this is now over one year after Henrick had originally sold the truck to this PA shop! There is alot to be said for a shop that is willing to help out a person that technically wasn't even their customer! As much as I do enjoy tinkering around with my classics (my BABIES), I guess there's a time in every man's life when he's got to put his pride aside and reluctantly put his trust in the hands of another mechanic to take on that big job you've started but don't quite have the time, (or know-how) to complete. Willingly handing over the wrench to another man and asking for help is not something i'm sure that most men are never really quite comfortable with. . .But to put it lightly, these guys have made this "transition" a VERY worthwhile process. I'm actually glad that I had to find utter disappointment a handful of times with shoddy work or devious business practices of several other local shops previous to stumbling upon GM Truck Center. I otherwise, would never have found this place. The old saying, "you get what you pay for" is a great rule of thumb to live by when investing in your own one-of-a-kind projects, when anything short of perfection is NOT an option. When considering the magnitude of such COMPLETE satisfaction with their unrivaled quality of work, workmanship, trustful business ethics, reliability etc., that Henrik and the guys have provided me with from day one, I don't believe i've ever "got what I pay for" the 4 or 5 times we've done business...I got MORE! I was looking for a trustworthy 4x4 place in Burbank, and what I found went above and beyond. Hernik, Jake, and the rest of the crew took great care of me and my Jeep. I needed a simple cargo rack and not only did WF4x4 get me a better price than direct from manufacturer, but they installed it cleanly, professionally, and the thing is SOLID. The labor cost was exactly what I expected, industry standard. The customer service was great. Jake called and emailed me nearly everyday to keep me posted on the research and the best deals. Hernik is one of those no BS kind of retailers. He's one of those guys that understands respect and trust are important in business, particularly in the auto industry. So first, he'll take you on a tour of the entire facility so you can see for yourself the quality. Every worker there was courteous and professional. And the work speaks for itself. Walking around looking at the custom jobs, it's clear this crew knows what they're doing. It's obvious they have assembled a team passionate about off-roading and bringing out the full potential in every vehicle. I decided to take my new Jeep Wrangler JLU into World Famous 4x4 for some wheels, tires and a lift and I'm glad I did. I did a ton of research looking for quality off-road shops in So Cal and out of the dozen or so I reached out to, nobody made me feel more comfortable than World Famous 4x4 and that's why I chose them. The amount of knowledge and expertise these guys have are unreal. Not only do they restore older Jeeps, Trucks, Broncos, Land Cruise ect they are up to date on the most modern 4x4s and the their aftermarket products as well. They had modified and lifted tons of Jeeps, old and new, Gladiators as well and that's the main reason I brought mine to them. The pricing is very reasonable for the quality of work and customer service they provide. They steered me in the right direction with setting me up with the Mopar 2" Suspension lift, Black Rhino Wheels and Nitto 35" Trail Grappler Tires. I'm so glad I went with their recommendation because my Jeep turned out just the way I wanted. All I did was leave a deposit for the parts and 2 days later I my appointment to drop my Jeep off and they had it completely done at the end of the day. I have a 78 Pontiac that I plan on fixing pretty much from the ground up. A few months ago I was directed to Henrik and his team who came highly recommended from a few smaller shops down in Hollywood who didn't have the space for such a project. I was immediately put at ease talking to Henrik about what I want done to the car. Not only was he more than capable of detailing several different directions on getting the car where I want it, he was also eager and happy to discuss said options (something I didn't expect to be an issue with all previous shops I approached). Those who have project cars and no means psychically of fixing it themselves can appreciate the relief and excitement of finding a shop you trust. Last week I needed to bring my car in for some silly issues it was having. I could have taken the car to any number of shops in and around my neighborhood, but I took it back (22 miles) up to Henrik and his team at World Famous 4x4. I am from Utah and I am trying to build up and restore a 1972 K5 Blazer. I gave World Famous 4x4 a call hoping that they could give me some direction and some advice as to how I should build proceed. I have seen numerous Blazer builds online that were built by this shop and knew that they would be the experts that I would need to talk to. Questions like: how big of a lift would look good? What wheel and tire size would look good? Engine and transmission swaps? Steering setups? I left a message and my phone call was promptly returned by Henrick. Even though I am not from the California area and cant buy directly from World Famous 4x4, Henrick spent the time to go over the build with me and I never felt rushed throughout the phone call. He gave me valuable information regarding my build and even let me know that I could call back with any questions along the way. This company has some of the greatest customer service that I have experienced. If I were in the California area I would not hesitate to use World Famous 4x4 for all of my needs. My son has a 2008 Dodge Ram 1500. We have had a lot of work done by other retailers that put on cheap parts that broke when he went off roading. I tried world famous 4x4 and they were great. I met with them in advance and Hendrick took over an hour explaining what was good and bad work to do on the truck. When I had the money, I called him up and he remembered my truck and made an appointment to do the work. He said he couldn't get me in for a week and we made an appointment. All the other places I went told me they could get it done and they would keep the truck much longer than promised. Hendrick and his team were professional . They gave me my truck back when they said they would and explained in detail what he did at an extremely reasonable price. My son even went back to learn how to program the chip for his car. Hendrick took the time to train him so he could do it himself. I have more work to perform and I will only take it to world famous 4x4. When you are lifting and modifying trucks, I learned the hard way that you must find someone to trust. Hendrick is the guy. read more

Took my 2015 ram 1500 ECODIESEL 4x4 for a 3" body lift to them for installation. It is a new model (2 years out). Called 4 wheel parts and a few other 4x4 install places. All said it was to new and there was no body lift for my truck. Spoke to Hendrick (owner) on phone and made appointment for install. After meeting the techs and Hendrick, we agreed on price with a handshake and they installed the kit. WOW !! I receive compliments all the time and still have the stock rims and tires. I will go back to them for all my truck needs !! I would just like to EMPHASIZE how in this day and age where customer service is a lost art, there is a place and employees that look you straight in the eyes and keep their word with a hand shake. If you want the real deal and are sick and tired of all the BS like I was, give them a shot. First time doing a build for my company and the experience has been phenomenal. From the beginning, Henrik's attention to detail and clear interest in my brand has made the investment a no brainer. I left the vehicle (Jeep Wrangler JL) with World Famous 4x4 during a short trip I was taking to get the initial work done and arrived home to find it completed on schedule and its visual appeal far beyond my expectations. The best part....I have now driven more than 2,500 miles on the new lift kit (In under 2 weeks) over flat and rough terrain and everything is still perfect, exactly how I received it. Steering is still tight, alignment spot on and drives better at high speeds then it did stock. The vehicle is getting constant comments and attention already which was the whole goal. I really can't recommend Henrik and his team enough for their work and customer service. If you want pros working on your rig, definitely would recommend the World Famous 4x4 team. We just got our 2010 Ford Raptor back from World Famous today and what a relief it is to finally trust the work that was done We have had a heck of a time since we purchased this truck and got royally screwed by Santa Monica Ford service dept. It is so hard to find a good and upstanding mechanic anywhere, especially in Los Angeles but here it is!! I am so happy and grateful that my boyfriend found these guys and gals. The entire staff is like a family and they all know their stuff. Every one of them is knowledgeable and kind. Our truck is running great now and I couldn't be happier. What a blessing in our gorgeous City of Angels! I am so intimidated to bring a vehicle to any shop for my desires and after hearing from another girlfriend this was a safe shop I had the gall to visit and I am so glad I did! A hidden treasure in Burbank, World Famous 4x4 treated me so well I will be coming back for sure! They email all estimates and invoices, are flexible with pick-up times, and always figure out a way to manage my budget for all my projects I share with my husband! Their entire waiting lounge is posh with comfy leather seats, multiple features of many of their projects over the years, photos of the staff with Hollywood celebrities that have also come for service! I searched for a long time for the right 4x4 shop. Most places cater only to high-end project builds, and aren't interested in the average 4x4 enthusiast needing general maintenance. This place stands apart in that regard. I had gotten a 4x4 Jeep that needed some work to get it back and running correctly again, nothing fancy or glamorous, just general maintenance. The work was done timely and correctly, and leaving with peace of mind is well worth what you pay to have your offroad vehicle serviced here. Henrik and his team are simply the best at what they do, giving realistic cost estimates and providing a level of customer service not found at other specialty shops. I have gone back twice to have additional repairs done, and Henrik even remembered me and my basically stock Jeep! When I went they offered to shuttle me to work, but I work close so it wasn't necessary, but it was a classy touch. I won't hesitate to return here for additional work or upgrades. read more

I had a budget that I was working with to do some upgrades on my jeep. I presented what I wanted and the budget I was working with to three 4X4 businesses. World famous 4x4 was the the only one that said they could meet my needs. During the upgrades I was informed that my front brakes were in need of a complete overhaul. I was allready comfortable with the company due to the service I received at the front desk. I aproved the repair of the brakes. The jeep was finished within the time frame that was promised. I was very pleased when the final bill was only $200.00 over my budget. (That was less than the bids I got for just the origional upgrades at other shops.) They replaced the rotors, pads and calapers at COST due to the fact that they allready had the vehical torn apart Gota love the crew at World famous 4x4!! I had a warranty issue come up on a recently replaced shock, and tried going through the company, which was nothing short of a nightmare. Finally, gave ORU a call, and within a few days, they replaced it with a new one, free of charge. In the past, I had a punctured tire the day we were leaving for a camping trip between Xmas/New Years and couldn't find my tire size anywhere due to the holidays. Called ORU, and Maurice recommended a place that had us on our way that same afternoon. Finally, had an annoying squeak post-overlanding trip and brought it in to ORU. They were able to quickly diagnose it as a loose bolt on my skid plate and didn't charge me for the inspection. It's rare to feel impressed by customer service nowadays, and ORU continues to impress me with their quality of work and service.
