The food isn't bad, it's good for the price! The people who work here are very friendly and wonderful which is amazing! However one of my hosomaki is coming apart, not a big deal but it should Be wrapped tighter so this doesn't happen. I have worked and managed sushi restaurants for 10+ years and it's kinda disappointing when the roll falls apart. Besides that's everything tasted awesome and service was great!

I went to Aloha Sushi on a Friday around lunch time after my women's health appointment. I had $20 dollars to spend. I looked over the bentos that was displayed in the warmer and noticed the salmon bentos. I opted to get a salmon bento as well as the ume maki roll. Once I received the ume maki roll I noticed that there was cucumber added to the roll. The roll wasn't sealed properly. That's okay...I was hungry. Lol. The salmon bento was okay. It was a thin slice of salmon....wish it was thicker. The long rice was delicious. The rice was a lot better once I put the shoyu sauce on top of it (which I got from work). The cost of salmon bento was around $14.00 with tax and the ume maki was $4.00 with tax. Over all the service was okay. Wish the maki sushi was more presentable instead of rush order. The ambiance was quite quiet...not many people was there when I ordered my food.

New ownership! The prices are very reasonable and the fish is super fresh. There's a lot of variety and also good choices for grab and go bento if you're in a hurry.

The food here looks great but something is ..just not right. Seriously.

Not sure exactly how to describe this food tasting experience. All I can say is that something here is just. not. right. YIKES :( This place is in the bldg on Alakea Street across Fisher Hawaii Downtown. In the middle of the bldg there's a walkway into the park area. When just inside, turn right and walk toward the mountain. It's a few stores up on the right-hand side. Location out of the way... I'm not sure what it is and I can't put my finger on it but the food here just does not taste right. I wonder if it's just the water? Perhaps they need a filter on their tap water?! Idk! Whatever it is... The fresh fish doesn't taste fresh for some odd reason even tho it looks great..! Could it be the rice?! And so... The poke almost tastes right The sushi rice is not flavored right Even the plain rice does not taste right The miso soup is does not taste right The daikon is kinda crunchy but too salty and does not taste right The sea salad is tasty but there's something not right The tempura is fried straight as a needle but is kinda too thin with hardly anything inside the tempura batter The food looks terrific! Somehow the taste is not right and I have no idea why or what's that funny taste but I do hope they get this problem fixed! Geez! ...Maybe it's just the water?! :(

Went here on Veterans Day because a lot of my fave spots were closed, and maybe I found a new fave spot. They have a variety of food from plate lunches to sushi to bentos. They also have a cooler with drinks in it that you can purchase Cheap food that you get a lot of makes this place a score. Is the food already cooked and they just take it out of a fridge and microwave it for you? Yes Does it still taste good and is worth getting? Also yes I got the Kailua pork plate and it come with the pork, a small salad, rice, tasty green vegetables(broccolini??) and some noodles. Also they put a miso soup with tofu in it with my food, which always feels nice. Fast service also makes this a good spot to have lunch at, and I think I will go here again in the future.

I ordered set C breakfast which includes spam but after arriving to work I open it up and I was given little smokies. I called to remedy the error but they wanted me to bring the whole breakfast back to receive spam today. Also, the lady accused me of not ordering C saying she only received orders for A (little smokies). Tried to explain that I don't eat little smokies so would not have ordered it. I could not return due to starting work on time. Tried to eat what they gave me but bacon was rubbery and tough to chew. I don't eat little smokies so that was thrown out and eggs were salty. I would not recommend this business and I will not be returning. $5.50 was not worth it.

I normally bring my own lunch to work, but the one time I didn't, I had to go out and buy. I decided to go somewhere near my office, so Aloha Sushi it was. I was standing in line, trying to decide what to order. Finally when it was my turn, clearly I was next, this rude guy behind me started placing his order. I'm pretty timid when it comes to this but I was hoping the lady at the cashier would tell him I was next, but to my disappointment, she continued to take his order. I then ordered the Dragon Maki which on their board says $10.99 but for some reason it came out to $12.55ish... that doesn't sound right... unless they just failed to update their board or I got overcharged by a dollar. The wait was almost 10 minutes for just a roll. And when I finally got it and brought it back to the office, the maki was cut into large pieces with an uneven amount of unagi to go with each piece. For the pieces I ate without the unagi, it just felt like an overpriced Cali Maki. Nothing tasted fresh and I was left dissatisfied (and ripped off). Poor customer service, overpriced rolls and poor quality in food, I highly doubt I'll return.

There are meals one enjoys. Meals one admires. Meals one respectfully documents, notes the flavor balance of, and later describes using words like "elegant" and "well-executed." And then there are meals that rock your world. This was one of them. Kaiten sushi, or conveyor belt sushi, is a casual, affordable Japanese dining style invented in 1958 where plates of sushi rotate on a motorized belt passing diners, allowing them to select dishes directly. Here at Kaiten Sushi Ginza Onodera, it's not the typical catwalk of pre-made maki rolls, nigiri, and other offering. You order off a kiosk and then it is fast-tracked to your table via sushi belt. Here at Kaiten Sushi Ginza Onodera, you are granted the ability to try their Edomae-style sushi for a more affordable price. Edomae-style sushi is a traditional Tokyo cuisine originating in the 1820s, featuring seafood, often cured, marinated, or simmered, served atop rice seasoned with red vinegar (akasu). It focuses on enhancing fish flavor through technique rather than just raw freshness, historically acting as fast food for 19th-century Edo residents. That said, dare I say the best meal I had during my stay on Oahu? I DARE! This was an excellent place suggested by Randy S. I really can't tell you all we had because Randy took charge but every bite? Certified bangers. Not one bad bite had. Pro-tip: If you want to feel like you are being mugged by Neptune, the God of the Sea, have the chawanmushi. Oceanic and delish!

I would have ordered more but I was not very assertive and everyone wanted the iPad . Most of the nigiri orders were only one at the price point I am used to paying for two and I prefer the experience of sharing. My husband at the other table sampled more than I did. Deep fried Octopus and Toro, I had Yellow Tail and Carpacio, sample two rolls. Big surprise, the French fries were outstanding. The check worked out to about 50 pp. I think that was mostly my husband who enjoyed an array of dishes. As mentioned in other reviews, the bill stacks up quickly. I given them 4 stars for uniqueness, mostly.

We are staying at the hotel, Prince Waikiki, and based on the rave reviews, we expected a flawless, high-end meal. While the restaurant looks clean and accurately mimics a true Japan dining atmosphere, the kitchen execution and lack of basic customer service completely ruined our celebration. My husband ordered the Yokozuna set and 2 Kanimiso Gunkans, and I ordered the Ozeki set (we both substituted our Ikura, and he got the Big Shrimp). While chewing his premium Toro, my husband hit a massive fish bone. It was huge, a legitimate, dangerous choking hazard. For a restaurant charging top-dollar for high-grade tuna, a bone of that size getting past a sushi chef is completely unacceptable. When my husband showed the bone to our waitress, she just casually said she would "inform the chefs." That was it. No manager ever came over, no one apologized, and they didn't even adjust our bill. We were forced to pay full premium price for a dish that nearly choked my husband. The pacing was completely mismatched. My husband's food arrived almost immediately, but my Ozeki set took an incredibly long time to come out. Because he didn't want to start eating without me on our first date, his sushi just sat on the table getting warm. The kitchen was running painfully slow, which made no sense because the restaurant wasn't even fully seated yet. Just that little moment left a bad impression and would have been worse if my husband choked. I honestly could have just went to genki sushi, never gotten bones in my fish there. Overall, sushi was good but not something to rave over. to pay that much for sushi I was expecting more, and this fell flat.

After walking around, the hostess asked if we had a reservation. I gave her my name, but she said we didn't have one, even though the restaurant was nearly empty. She then explained that our reservation was actually at their sister restaurant around the other side of the building. We went over there and found that it was primarily a sushi restaurant, which wasn't really what we were looking for. We had expected more of an izakaya-style experience, so we canceled the reservation and returned to the original restaurant. Once seated, the service was good and our server was attentive throughout the meal. One thing that was a little confusing was that sushi and sashimi had to be ordered from the sister restaurant, even though we were dining in the other restaurant. The food was brought over and served to us without any issues, and there were no problems with the bill, but it took us a while to understand how the two restaurants operated together. We ordered several dishes, including chicken skin wrapped gyoza, crab tempura, an assorted sashimi platter, a cream cheese and fish roe appetizer served with toast, an egg dish topped with fish roe, chicken karaage, and the miso butterfish. The highlights for me were the chicken karaage, miso butterfish, and gyoza. I enjoyed them enough to order another round of the gyoza and chicken. That said, many of the dishes leaned toward the sweeter side of Japanese cuisine, which just isn't my personal preference. If you enjoy those flavors, your experience may be different. Overall, the food was good, the service was solid, and there were a few standout dishes. The confusion with the reservation, entrance setup, and relationship between the two restaurants got the evening off to an awkward start, but the meal improved once we were seated. I'm not really a Japanese food person, so four stars is probably the highest rating I could realistically give a Japanese restaurant. With that in mind, I thought they did a good job, and there were a few dishes I would consider ordering again.

Although they have a clean and comfortable space for dining in, we regularly stop by after church or on the weekends for something to savor at our favorite park. Seriously, it's easy to enjoy their bowls, sushi sets, or bentos anytime and anyplace. We've got a passion for this place. Here's how this love affair started...I discovered Domo when a friend invited me for some sushi and sips at her place. I was amazed at the beautiful platter of sushi that accompanied our sake and wine. My friends are the best hosts! I devoured the bombs, nigiris and rolls (in between sips!). Everything was simply delicious! Fast forward a few months, I order a couple sushi sets to host a poolside, golden-hour birthday get together at my other friend's home. (I know, you want to be part of this squad, right?!). Anyway, using the online order system is a snap! My hubby went in to pick up the sushi and said they were slammed but our sushi sets were ready to go. This time we ordered some ikura because the hubby and my bestie are big fans. Both agree it was fresh and fantastic! And the garlic set with the flash-seared fish and a hint of mayo is a MUST-try. We also ordered a California roll for my friend's aunt who is not really a sushi fan. She delighted in several pieces and even enjoyed the nigiri from the garlic set. Total convert! After enjoying the platters and sets, we had to try the bentos and bowls. This time it's just us and the pup at the park. The bentos provide a great variety and comes with miso soup. The hubby really likes the shrimp tempura with ahi and salmon nigiri and ahi poke. It's a steal at less than $20. I'm a bowl girl myself and like the spicy tempura. The tempura is cooked crisp yet tender. The spicy ahi poke combined with the creamy crab salad and the crunchy ocean salad delights all my tastes buds. It's truly an adventure in finding the perfect bite--and there are so many in this bowl! I also love the seared salmon bowl. It is melt-in-your-mouth goodness. I add the fried onions for some texture. You know a place is top-notch when you can feel confident that anything off their menu will satisfy your cravings. Because this is a Yelp review, here are some helpful tips. For sushi platters, pre-order. The online system is simple to use. If you want fresh, delicious sushi that is reasonably priced be like us and visit Domo Café. You will probably also be like us and want to go back to try more.
