They go above and beyond to customize orders so that every customer leave completely satisfied. They have a wide menu with various Hawaiian dishes, such as kalua pork and loco moco. Prices are reasonable, for huge portions, so you'll definitely be full, and if you're not - grab yourself a spam musubi! This place is pretty decent. The lady running the register is very friendly and personable. She's very quick and efficient. You know how you go to some places and they take a long time for you to order, pay and get your food? Well this place is not that. I usually get the huli huli chicken with rice. On some days, they will do fried huli huli. Portion last me for 2 meals. It comes with either a salad or macaroni salad. Pretty satisfying. You can build your own meal based on your preference. Been here several times now and it's always good with friendly service. Also, the plate portions are good enough for 2 regular meals, or one really really hungry person. My favorites are probably the fried huli huli chicken and chicken teriyaki. The fried chicken still had crispiness, even after steaming in the box for 15 minutes on my way home, and has a pretty deep flavor. The teriyaki is comparable to other good teriyaki in the area flavor-wise, but differs in that they don't compress it like the other places do. As a result, the chicken here has a more natural grilled texture and isn't a little rubbery like other places can get from compression. I also recommend calling ahead and doing some shopping in Uwajimaya so you don't have to wait around. read more

This place is a great reminder of home for my fiancé! The Loco Mocco is so tasty as the gravy is savory & made just right, not salty! You also get enough food that you actually walk away full for a cheap price to pay compared to a lot of other spots! Anyone that's from the Islands knows that it's true Island style when you get a full plate for cheap! The fried banana balls were such a surprisingly tasty treat. I came here last year and had every intention on trying this food but I had eaten prior to my visit and I was too stuffed to buy anything. This year I made sure to to stop by and try their most popular Hawaiian dish and it was absolutely delicious. The rice was perfectly cooked, the macaroni salad was delicious and that pork was super juicy and sooooo flavorful. I literally ate everything on my plate. Aloha Plates is a restaurant inside Uwajimaya's food court. Have visited on numerous occasions, most recently yesterday before the UH-Wazzu game at Qwest. They have a decent menu of Hawaiian fare. Though really my rating can only be based on the one item that I usually order which is the kalua pork with cabbage ($7.25). The kalua pork which is essentially shredded pork seems to always to be tasty, though a bit salty here. The cabbage thankfully helps to even out the saltiness. The plate is really a bit of a carb overload as it comes with a choice of brown or white rice and I tend to go for the macaroni salad, which is also good. The mac salad tastes similar to what I get back in Hawaii. The one thing that I don't like is the seating. There is just not enough seating when the food court becomes crowded. This is what happened yesterday as I decided to dine outside across the street in the courtyard leading towards Qwest. Based on other reviews posted, I would say stick with the kalua pork and you will be happy. read more
