    Espresso martini
    Kelse S.

Oh my gosh, so awesome and probably one of the best espresso martinis I've ever had. We came here after a recommendation from our server at The Fountain Room, and to our surprise it was a fun Halloween pop up! We got lucky and found seating as a walk in, and we loved the Halloween vibes and decor. The place itself is quaint and cozy, and you can tell they definitely take the quality of their drinks seriously. As stated before, my espresso martini was wonderful. I'm still thinking about it 2 months later! I also love that they're a coffee shop as well, I'd be here pretty regularly if I was an Indy local. So happy we stopped by!

We stopped in because we ended up finding a parking spot in front of the place and I was in the mood for coffee, while my husband wanted a cocktail so it was the perfect place! We found a spot at the bar. The place was very intimate and small, but not crowded. There's a decent stage, so I'm curious what types of events they have! Again, I wanted coffee so I was excited to try the Shakerato, which was absolutely delicious! We will definitely be back to try other drinks and the food.

This was my first visit. Love the space. Great drinks and the service was friendly and speedy. Looking forward to going back when we can hang out longer.

LOVE LOVE LOVE Almost Famous! My best friend and I cannot be swayed in our decision that they make the best espresso martinis in Indianapolis. They are always perfect. We stopped in here late on a Saturday night and they were playing Supernatural on the projector screen on stage (my favorite comfort show) and my bestie and I had some dirty martinis + espresso martinis while our counterparts split a bottle of Prosecco. Every time we stop at Almost Famous I have a great time. The bathroom decor is also super fun and I always crack up at the Michael Scott quote that is in both bathrooms. I wholeheartedly recommend this bar to anyone who hasn't already tried them! My next mission is to stop in here during their brunch hours...

A wonderful spot for a pre or post dinner cocktail! All vibes. Our bartender/server was knowledgeable and attentive. They have small plates that were lovely for snacking, but I wouldn't plan a full fledged dinner here.

Our server was excellent...friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. She raised this review to 4 stars. The atmosphere was great as well. The calamari was very good, and the Carriage House margarita was excellent. Unfortunately, the entrées didn't meet expectations. The birria lacked flavor and seasoning, and the carrots were undercooked and crunchy. The mushroom empanadas also came out slightly cool in the middle. Because our server was so wonderful, we chose not to raise these issues during our visit. Overall, we have mixed feelings but would consider returning for drinks, appetizers, and the patio atmosphere during warmer weather.

Started with the cauliflower steak- curry with saffron rice with potatoes and a pomegranate molasses along with the brightness of cilantro and mint. This is listed as a large plate, but we chose it as our starter. Hubs had the pork belly and by how quickly it disappeared, he definitely enjoyed it! I was torn on what to choose, but ended up with the shrimp étouffée and so glad I did! The sauce was divine and the apple chutney added a surprisingly wonderful addition. Dessert? Of course! Banana pudding for the hubs and I had the apple cider whoopie pie. This thing was giant! I tasted the banana pudding and it was good. I might have stolen some whip cream to taste with the whoopie pie and honestly- five five stars.

It's a very small kitchen where all the action happens, which is very impressive for a restaurant their size. Very knowledgeable staff and servers described all the ingredients and notes of flavor to look for in the dishes very well. Most ingredients were locally sourced and staff highlighted the importance of souring fresh local ingredients with every dish. Everyone form the hostess to the bartender and bus boy were friendly and welcoming. definitely 5* for service. The menu is a mix of several cuisines from Korean to Italian and even some French with a twist. The menu has great vegetarian options. Unfortunately the chef's tasting menu wasn't available as my reservation was made same day, but I decided to go with the two specials of the day. Dinner kicked off with a shot of Champaign on the house They like welcoming their guests that way. Water kept being refilled immediately. The staff again was very attentive. As an appetizer I went with the Scallops crudo with house made berry vinegar. The crudo was a healthy serving of scallops. Crispy raw carrots and radish provide some texture, while greens including endive provided some bitterness. This dish was a bit heavy on pepper and bitterness from the endives and could use some acidity to balance it out. Scallops were not as sweet as I was expecting. A bit more of the homemade raspberry vinagrette would have been perfect. The dark blue ring caused by the marination process would have shown more on a different color serving plate instead of a black bowl. For the main course I ordered the Beet linguini with sea bass. Interesting take on linguini Pickled rhubarb, rainbow radishes, fresh dill and a 'beet marinara' sauce reminded me of borscht. Unfortunately the linguini was overcooked and soaked up a lot of the butter and sauce. The pickled rhubarb provided a break from the heaviness of the dish but overall the dish lacked brightness. Sea bass was perfectly cooked. Seared and crusted with salt and pepper on one side, simple. Well executed but nothing special. For dessert I went with the Strawberry dacquoise which was delicious. The white chocolate bark with pink peppercorn stole the show. It should be layered inside the dessert! I wanted more of it. This dessert was not overly sweet. it was a great mix of pistachios and strawberry and fluffy cake. Gelee was a bit too dense but otherwise fantastic end to a good meal.

Listen... this wasn't just a dish, this was an EXPERIENCE. The grits were creamy, smooth, and perfectly rich, but that sauce layered on top?? Whew. Flavor on flavor on flavor. You've got that deep, savory, slightly smoky profile with juicy shrimp, sausage, and those pickled onions cutting through everything with the perfect tang. Every bite felt intentional. Like somebody knew what they were doing in that kitchen. And can we talk about how beautiful it was plated?? Because yes, I absolutely appreciated the aesthetics before I even picked up my fork. Paired it with a simple coffee moment, sitting by the window, and honestly... it felt like a reset. Not rushed, not loud, just good food, good atmosphere, and a chance to actually enjoy it. If you're looking for a brunch spot that feels a little more elevated, a little more intentional, and delivers on both flavor and experience. This is it. 10/10. I'll absolutely be back!!!

We were still a bit hungry after the board, so we ordered a "bacon flight" and some deviled eggs. And that is how I learned that bacon served with a sauce is not for me., whether is a spicy chili sauce, a creamy lime dip, a tomato aioli, or a butterscotch-chocolate concoction. The "savory" bacon option was egregiously salty. You might expect that when you're having bacon, but they added even more salt and it was too much. It turns out that I also do not like wasabi on a deviled egg. I would give Divvy 3.5 stars if Yelp allowed half-stars because I like the shared small-concept and our server was friendly. I found the execution on the food pretty uneven, though, so we're rounding down instead of up.

The drinks, the ramen, the dessert...we love it all, and we love spending our money at a local business. For years now, the kitchen has substituted rice for ramen for me because I have gluten intolerance. I have always asked respectfully, explained why, and said thank you, every single time. Tonight my husband and I walked down to Strangebird for dinner, ordered drinks and dinner, and I had *just* said to my husband that Strangebird has come to feel like a second home. Then the server came out and told us that the chef has decided they will no longer permit any modifications, including those that meet dietary needs. We were out on the quiet patio surrounded by other customers, so on top of being totally blindsided, it was actually pretty embarrassing, too. Folks, let me tell you how much I wish I could just eat the ramen noodles like everybody else. So much food that I love (and in some cases spent years learning to make myself) went out the window forever when my body stopped being able to handle wheat. But at Strangebird, I could still go in and enjoy the depth of flavor in every other component of a bowl of ramen. And that meant the absolute world to me. I'm heartbroken.
