We started with drinks at the bar. The cocktails were fantastic. When the rest of our friends arrived, we took our seat at the booth. Our waitress was so sweet. She gave us lots of suggestions and was so engaging. We ordered a ton of food. We ordered oysters, whipped ricotta, truffle fries and lobster mac and cheese to share. Everything looked and tasted delicious . I had lobster bisque as my entree. It was rich and creamy. We asked our waitress if we could see the Speakeasy. My husband and I stopped in for a nightcap on a Thursday evening after dining at a nearby restaurant. The elegant chandeliers and vibrant greenery lend itself to the meticulously curated ambiance. The kitchen was closed, but the tables all had place settings with napkins rolled to look like roses. I absolutely loved the attention to detail. The entire place is a photo opp! The DJ had the tunes spinning, and I guess that we must have looked a little lost because he offered to show us around. There's a huge mirror in the hallway near the restrooms that is perfect for selfies, and a "secret" speakeasy downstairs. The mood down there is dark, intimate, and sultry. The Matcha Martini was suggested, so my husband had that and I had an Espresso Martini. Both were amazing! I'm not even a fan of matcha, but I wanted to drink my husband's entire cocktail... but he beat me to it. It's so perfectly balanced that you could easily drink one after another after another, but I had to drive home, so I just had the one. You know, drinking responsibly and all that jazz. I happened to be downtown on mass ave with friends and we decided to stop here. The vibes here were very chill and relaxing downstairs. We had went in the downstairs area which they did have a dj upstairs playing music. It was dark inside here which is why they probably call it Dusk. It definitely had a dusk look inside there. We had ordered drinks which the prices were a little expensive but you could expect that for a place like this one. The employees were very nice and made sure you had what you needed. Ambience is elegant- although the music required shouting for any conversation. 4 of the six meals were a hit: seafood risotto, 2 fans of the scallops and one order of short ribs. The falafel was soggy and overwhelmed with onions and the pork belly was rubbery and overly salted. Wrapped up with a shared tiramisu that almost made up from the missteps. I went to Dusk with my friend group and honestly, I really enjoyed the vibes and the ambience! Service was good, and our waiter was very friendly (I forgot to get his name). Between the three of us, we shared the Meatballs, the seafood orzo and the truffle fries. Located in the heart of Mass Ave, parking can be a challenge depending on the time of day you visit. For me, it was right after work and plenty of parking right out front. We had such a great experience at Dusk! The service was phenomenal. CJ was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. The food was memorable from start to finish. We ordered the feta spread with pistachios and pita, scallops with mushroom risotto, short rib with parsnip purée, and tiramisu. The scallops had a nice sear, the risotto was rich without being too heavy, and the short rib was so tender it fell apart. Everything was absolutely delicious. The atmosphere struck a nice balance between moody and lively. Their glassware was a nice change from the typical coupe glasses you see everywhere, with good sizes for cocktails. They also had a strong liquor selection, and the prices were reasonable. I tried the matcha martini, which was a little heavy on the RumChata. It was still tasty, just more of a dessert cocktail in my opinion. My only bit of feedback is that the women's bathroom did not have any hooks, which was inconvenient. Went to desk lounge for a friend's birthday dinner. This was my first time there and I really enjoyed the ambience and the chill vibes. It was really surprisingly packed for a night that we just got 6 inches of snow. I enjoyed a mocktail however, it was just as much as a mixed drink. My friends ordered a order of crabcakes, which were delicious. There were only two, which I guess is good for an appetizer. I went for the scallops and risotto. I liked the scallops they were cooked well and well seasoned. The risotto had mushroom in it. Which was indifferent about. I like mushrooms but not parents this. I'd liked to have had asparagus maybe? There was a speakeasy in the basement that was perfect for photos and a more personal feel. Which was nice. This place is definite a spot for special occasions. After months of keeping my eye on this place the wife and I finally made our visit in celebration of our anniversary. As many have said before this restaurant/lounge feels like it belongs in a different city (think Miami, Los Angeles, Chicago) and I mean that in the best way possible. The elevated touches throughout the establishment reminds me of some of our best dinners from our travels to destinations domestically and internationally. The lighting is that perfect blend of moody and functional, not so dark you can't read the menu but enough to set the mood right. Our waitress was great the entire night, serving us with a warm smile and attentive hospitality. We started our evening with the Wagyu Meatballs and our first round of drinks (Dusk & Dawn and Matcha Martini). Our next course included the Seabass, Seared Scallops, & my second cocktail (Midnight Fig). For desert we went with the Baklava (which is shareable in size). Everything we ordered was made exceptionally well and would reorder everything on our next visit. After our dinner concluded we went downstairs to enjoy some additional vibes in the speakeasy and ended our night with a round of espresso martinis. I never understand why people don't come back after getting our food. We needed things. Food needed salt n pepper. Also hot sauce. I needed extra sauce for my short rib to make it taste better. This is painful. I was so excited for this place and I am really hoping that maybe it's just start up problems. The restaurant as well as the speakeasy in the basement are absolutely gorgeous. Instagram worthy any which way you look at it. However, the food... at this price point it is simply disappointing. The food and drinks are also presented beautifully. So they do have their aesthetics down pat. I ordered the olives and they came with a lot, and I mean a lot of red peppers and such. About half of the cup was non olive. I get it, olives are expensive, but can you list at least some of the other stuff? The olives themselves are not that great either and all the same, so not a variety of olives. The Caesar salad was basically deconstructed. Pretty to look at, but how many people are going to appreciate whole anchovies sprawled across their lettuce. Just saying, a lot of folks don't realized that this type of salad calls for them. The falafels were actually the highpoint of all the things we had ordered. These were not only gorgeous, but so very delicious. It's in the flavorful dip that they are served on. I had the steak frites and while it was a good size portion and had a nice flavor, the meat wasn't the best quality for sure. Tough and lots of grizzle. Not what I had hoped for. The Caesar salad looked like something out of a food magazine, super fresh and crisp, and the grilled goat cheese was rich, creamy, and unforgettable. The interior decor of the restaurant is beautiful. I could see how it becomes a high end bar later in the night, but at 6:30pm on a Wednesday it was a beautiful restaurant with a vibrant bar. The food and service gave us a fine dining experience. There was no DJ, but nice background music at a perfect volume. We were at a 2 top table with the coziest and most comfortable chairs I've ever sat in at a restaurant. Our server was friendly and attentive. The cocktails were incredible. My husband had a cocktail with tequila and pear that is not on the online menu and I forget the name. I had the Dusk & Dawn. Both were delicious and wonderfully balanced. We shared the Wagyu meatballs, beat salad, sea bass entree, and saffron risotto. They split the salad and sea bass for us. Get the meatballs for sure. They were great. The beat salad was nice. The sea bass and asparagus were delicious. Well prepared and had great flavor. The risotto was okay. It was a bit too cheesy and not super flavorful. I went to Dusk Lounge on Monday evening November 10th which just so happen to be my birthday. walked in, there were no other customers inside for 2.5 hours; I had the restaurant to myself minus the employees. Dusk Lounge is a Mediterranean-style restaurant, with no stairs entering the building(only heading to Speakeasy Bar). The whole ambiance of the restaurant is breathtaking, the designs, hanging plants on the ceiling, paintings, sculptures, the layout of the restaurant, and the women's restroom with beautiful floral wallpaper. Everything was carefully picked out in the restaurant with love, I absolutely love the green comfy seats. Now, to the service, my server was Cassie, who was very warm and helpful on both the food and cocktail menus. For, my dinner I had two twin lobster tails (4 oz), no sides since sides aren't included in my meal, three cocktails: Lychee Dragon and two Midnight Fig cocktails.I sat in the back where there wasn't in anyone in my area until I was leaving out. On weekends, Dusk Lounge does have a live DJ set, downstairs where there's a speakeasy bar, and it becomes a party on the weekends. Dusk Lounge is great for solo experiences, girl nights out, and of course meeting up with friends. I'm glad I decided to spend my birthday at new restaurant Dusk Lounge. my boyfriend and i were really looking forward to trying this place out and finally made it there on a saturday night. we planned to have a full meal but, as soon as we were seated, we knew we wouldn't be staying long and opted for apps and drinks instead. it's very dimly lit and atmospheric which makes you feel secluded even when you're sitting close to other people. however, they had a dj playing music so loudly that you could barely hear anyone talking. we constantly had to lean in or almost yell just to be heard over the excessively loud music. we each had 2 drinks: the italian gentleman, amaretto sour, lychee dragon, and the guava inferno. the italian gentleman was the only notable beverage (honestly, the best part of the whole meal). it was smooth, smoky, and had the perfect cherry notes, would recommend. the lychee dragon was excessively sweet while the guava inferno tasted mostly of jalapeño with very little guava. we tried the hummus trio and it was okay, not bad nor good. the pesto hummus didn't really have a hummus taste, the beet hummus was very mild and almost flavorless, and the standard hummus was okay. the pita was very fresh, soft, and had a wonderful flavor, though. i would recommend ordering extra pita because the serving that it comes with is very small. we also ordered the truffle frites. it took about 15-20 minutes to get those so we assumed that they would be freshly made but they were room temperature when we got them, so we were definitely disappointed by that. overall, there was a lack of balance in both the atmosphere, service, and flavors. i'm hoping they make some improvements. read more

Dusk is a must-visit addition to Mass Ave. The food was exceptional from start to finish. We shared oysters and a hummus trio to start, followed by scallops with a phenomenal mushroom risotto, a braised short rib with a rich, delicious demi-glace, and a perfectly cooked skirt steak. Every protein was executed beautifully. The atmosphere is stunning--a high-end, big-city jungle vibe unlike anything else in Indianapolis. The cocktails are out of this world, with inventive twists on classics and imaginative new creations. The rest of the staff was warm and prompt, adding to the experience. The only blemish was our server, who became noticeably aggressive as the evening went on with side comments about the attentiveness of our full table to her. After encouraging me to order dessert for the table, she asked directly for my opinion and then dismissed it when I gave thoughtful feedback on the texture of the "sponge cake," even cutting me off mid-sentence and taking the receipt back abruptly. It left our group a bit stunned and uncomfortable. That said, one odd interaction shouldn't overshadow an otherwise outstanding restaurant. The culinary team is clearly talented, and the ambiance and menu deserve every bit of praise. We'll absolutely be back and highly recommend Dusk to anyone looking for a sophisticated yet lively dining experience in Indianapolis. read more

I wanted this place to be a lot better than it was. We were a party of 8 so got to order a lot of food and drink. I didn't hear anything negative from the group about the drinks but the food we chose overall was very meh. The starters, being honest, were quite good and we had the feta dip, hummus, olives and marsala meatballs. The entrees on the other hand were overall, just okay. Nothing spectacular and maybe we chose the wrong things. The sides, which sounded really unusual were either undercooked to our liking (carrots and cauliflower steaks) or under seasoned (polenta and orzo). The tiramisu was delicious but the matcha cake tasted like "scrambled eggs" per the group! The worst part for me was how impossible it was for me to hear anything going on at the other end of the table due to the loud music being played. It works for tables of 2 but larger parties will struggle at the dinner table. I am giving a 3 star as the place is, hopefully, still working on execution but I do hope they work to improve food quality. It will be a while before we spend $$$$ here. read more
