Almost Famous is always such a cozy space! From being a coffee shop, to a cocktail bar to fun events, I have never had a bad time here. The coffee is absolutely delicious and the cocktails are just as good. Their food menu is amazing too. I have had their fried cheese and their Jamón & Queso sandwich and it's also fresh. They have daily specials as well so it pairs nicely with their food. One cool thing about Almost Famous is that they always have something on their big screen whether it's a tv show, a movie, or event, you can always expect something fun to watch if you're there just to hang out. personally , I love it there because my book club has made this their home base and it's always a welcoming space. Oh my gosh, so awesome and probably one of the best espresso martinis I've ever had. We came here after a recommendation from our server at The Fountain Room, and to our surprise it was a fun Halloween pop up! We got lucky and found seating as a walk in, and we loved the Halloween vibes and decor. The place itself is quaint and cozy, and you can tell they definitely take the quality of their drinks seriously. As stated before, my espresso martini was wonderful. Love the atmosphere (you feel like a showgirl) and LOVE the Papas Fritas -- waffle fries smothered in freshly heated cheese is literally worth the trip alone. I dream often of these tapas. It was my turn to pick a restaurant and after mentioning another mass avenue spot that wasn't favored, I randomly selected Almost Famous. It was the cutest little vibe as we walked in. I had the most lovely meeting here this past week in the early afternoon. I love how Almost Famous lives multiple lives throughout the day- coffee shop, leisurely day drink.... Transformed into hot club vibes by night. The server was super hospitable and gracious in sharing Wi-Fi details for me to take a meeting while there. LOVE LOVE LOVE Almost Famous! My best friend and I cannot be swayed in our decision that they make the best espresso martinis in Indianapolis. They are always perfect. We stopped in here late on a Saturday night and they were playing Supernatural on the projector screen on stage (my favorite comfort show) and my bestie and I had some dirty martinis + espresso martinis while our counterparts split a bottle of Prosecco. Tonight we walked in as a group of four looking for a table. The bar was busy, which is absolutely fine. What was not normal was the way we were treated. An employee came up immediately and said "sorry friends, we're a little busy, maybe another time," and then physically ushered us out with her arms. Not "Hey, it'll be a wait." Not "You can grab a drink at the bar." Just escorted out like we'd done something wrong for existing. I've been to countless busy bars and have never been asked to leave simply for walking in. If you don't want new customers when you're busy, put a sign on the door or lock it, don't manhandle paying customers and call it hospitality. Absolutely rude, wildly unprofessional, and genuinely shocking. Plenty of bars manage being busy without treating people like an inconvenience. This one apparently cannot. Will not return. read more

It did not disappoint. Sat at the bar rail and enjoyed a cocktail, oysters, shrimp and kale dip...all were fantastic. My favorite was dragging the crostini from the kale dip through the shrimp jus and then dipping in kale dip. The atmosphere is awesome, and details down to saucers and flatware, wall decor, posters!. Service excellent, the owner enlightened us on its history as the old comedy club, his opportunity during the pandemic to expand after purchasing Tini's next door... Was really excited about this because I'm a huge fan of Spanish food and tapas and that's something that's very hard to find in Indianapolis. I truly love the interior of this place as it's very cozy and warm but I could always see it turning it an awesome bar at night. Our waiter was nice however the food took a bit too long for just a sandwich and slice of Tortilla de Patata. I thought the Pan de Trufa was good however it was a bit of an overkill to put that much cheese on it. The Tortilla de Patata I thought was good but nothing amazing. Cozy little brunch spot on Mass Ave. My husband and I popped in on a whim and were just in time for a drag show. It was so fun! We didn't know a drag show would be going on about an hour after we arrived. The server informed us when we sat down and asked if we'd be staying. We asked if we could think on it for a moment. She came back and asked again and we decided to stay. We ordered our drinks and when she brought them back she said we actually had to leave because they sold out all the tables. This place was so cool! The whole place had a really cool vibe to it. They had a burlesque show happening the night we stopped in for drinks. Unfortunately it was completely sold out. We did have drinks, I had a Manhattan and my husband got the dealer choice which ended up being a spicy rum (really good). I like it when bars give you the options to try something new. My rating is based on my experience with the food. I've been here a few times just for drinks and have always had a wonderful experience. The cocktails are fun the service is always exceptional and the ambiance is funky and fun. A friend and I decided to stop by for brunch. We ordered the pineapple waffle she got a chai latte and I went with the butterscotch latte. I wasn't aware that they made all the syrups in house and it's so delicious. I mean I gulped my drink fairly quickly I couldn't believe how delicious it was. We both ordered the short rib hash. The food arrived and we both realized our potatoes were nearly raw. The lighting made it hard to see but I believe the potatoes were bad as well. We took a few bites and had to send it back. Our server was apologetic and let us order the BLT instead. The sandwich was fine, kinda underwhelming and it was served with a pickle. I think house made that I'm assuming was also bad. I took a bite and it was sour in a rotten way. I woke up to being violently ill and this was the only thing I ate. I will definitely come back for the drinks but will unfortunately be skipping the food. read more
