Treylor Park was probably exactly what we needed at 11:30 at night…read more It's somewhere between a diner and a sports bar, but the decor is what makes it. The whole place is designed to feel like the inside of a trailer--spray-painted antique chandeliers, old pictures of different trailer parks, and random little details everywhere. It's kitschy, but very intentional, and honestly pretty cool. We came in late after a 4h drive into town after work, and the staff was still super friendly and accommodating. No "we're about to close" energy, which I appreciated. We started with the creamy collard dip, which is basically their take on spinach-artichoke dip, but with collards. Really good. I do think the chips were a little too heavy for the dip--a thinner chip would've been perfect--but that's a small note. The chicken pancake tacos were probably my favorite. The chicken was fried perfectly and still really moist. And at this point, I'm convinced Savannah just knows how to cook chicken. Everywhere we went, the chicken was consistently good. My partner got the grilled apple pie sandwich, which has fried chicken, grilled apples and bacon. He's not even a big pork person, but that bacon was so crispy and the whole combination just worked. Even the waffle fries were good--crispy, fresh and actually seasoned. We had the Grateful Dead and Wicked Kiwi cocktails, plus a couple of shots, and the drinks were strong, good and reasonably priced. Honestly, I don't have a ton of notes here. It's not trying to be some elevated dining experience. It's just a really good late-night spot with good food, strong drinks, friendly service and a fun atmosphere. We sat inside because Savannah in August was not about to have us sitting on anybody's patio. Definitely recommend, especially if you're looking for somewhere to eat late. It was a vibe, the food was good, and it did exactly what it needed to do.

The hubby and I got in on a Sunday night without a reservation. Rather than a long wait, we were good with sitting at the bar. Hubby's lemon herb chicken was excellent. After a long day of travel, I needed good protein so the Collins Burger was a fine choice. It's a double smash, sauce, chopped bacon, and crispy shallots. Cooked well, juicy, and just all around excellent. Had a sip of the hubby's sangria and wow! Probably the best one I've tasted. The vibes here are chic and upscale. In the evening/late dinner hours, it's dark lighting. Service was top notch. They are actually known for their brunch which I would love to try if visiting Savannah again!

We were sitting outside with a little sun, and when she noticed a table had opened up in the shade, she proactively asked if we'd like to move. That small gesture said a lot about the level of customer service. She was friendly, attentive, and incredibly patient helping Alison navigate a dietary restriction. And then came the food! I had the Eggs Benedict with smoked salmon, and Alison had the quinoa chicken bowl. Everything came out quickly, the presentation was gorgeous, and the flavors were out of this world. We also tried a couple of mocktails and both were fantastic. I came very close to ordering Leo's Big Brekkie because it looks like a protein lover's dream, but I wasn't quite hungry enough to tackle it. Now I already have something picked out for our next visit! Great atmosphere, wonderful service, beautiful food, and an all-around terrific experience. Five stars really isn't enough. An Absolute Must-Visit in Savannah!…read more Our group of food-loving travelers had one of the best dining experiences we've had in a long time at Common Thread. From the moment we sat down until the last bite, every course exceeded our expectations. We started with the oysters, which were incredibly fresh and perfectly prepared. The shaved beef was an absolute standout--one of those dishes you can't stop talking about long after the meal. The yellowfin tuna was pristine, buttery, and beautifully balanced. The salads were anything but ordinary. Both the watermelon salad and the tomato salad were bursting with fresh, vibrant flavors that showcased just how incredible simple ingredients can be when they're done right. For the entrées, the gnocchi was delicious, but the real stars were the New York strip and the roasted potatoes. The steak was cooked perfectly, and those potatoes may have been the best we've ever had. The red snapper was light, flaky, and had just the right amount of spice to elevate every bite. Richard's Chicken was unbelievably tender, juicy, and literally melted in your mouth. What truly elevated the evening was our server, Lindsey. She was warm, knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely made us feel like welcomed guests. She even took the time to recommend local attractions and things to do around Savannah, making our entire trip better. If Yelp allowed it, she'd get 10 out of 5 stars. Exceptional food, outstanding service, and an unforgettable experience. Common Thread has earned a place among the very best restaurants we've ever visited. We can't wait to come back the next time we're in Savannah.

So, that felt terrific, given their attention to making the space handicap accessible. I would only return for that specific reason - not for the food. We were there for a birthday, so we got the tasting menu and was told that it was served family style. We were 3 people, but for each course they brought out 2 plates of food (except for a single plate for the salad course). So, it felt weird sharing the dishes, like you didn't just get half and then to take 1/3 of 2 plates is also peculiar. Why not serve each course genuinely family style on a larger dish? For example, I usually tried 1/2 of each plate, but then there were some leftovers. And, one of the courses (the salad) came only on one tiny plate, and there was only one piece of the peach. So, there was no way to split that at all. They also brought us all new empty dishes and silverware after every course. It would have been easier to just give us each our own portion on our own plates. I kept thinking about all the dishes that they would need to wash, and it felt so wasteful. In fact, we had to ask for serving spoons, as they didn't offer that with the family style either. And honestly, the best course was the fried potatoes. They also brought us each one tiny tator tot with fancy sauce which was good. But, so tiny that it wasn't enough. The worst course was the tri tip meat. It had been cooked very rare which I like. But, it was so chewy that I found myself having to chew and chew and ... well, I couldn't eat. None of us liked that course, and it felt like a shame to leave it behind. I researched tri tip, and it seems that it needs to be cut in a certain way. The dessert was also really good. But overall, I was disappointed. Some places feel too fancy, and they forget that people are there to actually eat something rather than be confused by trying to guess what they are eating. For example, the delicious tator tot had a smoked oyster mayo sauce. But, the quantity of the sauce was so sparse, I didn't notice the oyster flavor at all. I suppose that my review may be heavy handed. I do appreciate that they provide farm to table, but they didn't take the time to profile that either.

The staff here treated us like family from the moment we walked in to the moment we left. When we arrived we were treated by kind face seated and handed a hand written note congratulating us on our anniversary. When our waiter came he took his time explaining beverages with us and specials. And then continued to answer our questions with care. You would've thought he was just our tables waiter by the way he paid attention to detail and cared about every little detail. The ambiance is the old bus station and they lean into the historic aspects of their building which I highly enjoyed. Some highlights of our meal were the jalapeno corn bread. Which may I be honest and say was the best corn bread I've ever tasted in my life? Along with the coconut curry dish I received. You can tell the dish was truly thought out and had a purpose with every bite. I loved that at the end they brought us lavender pallet cleansers. I loved these so much I started utalizing them at home. My absolute favorite of the whole evening was surprisingly our free dessert. It was almost a marshmallow flavor but crunchy. I think about them till this day! I am happy to say we will continue to spend our time together at the grey. Looking around at the tables around us nothing really caught our eye after reading the menu, we didn't want to leave since we were able to get reservations so we got some starters and shareables. There was a couple next to us who was having the same dilemma after over hearing their conversation. The kale salad was okay but a little bitter for my liking and the potato soup had a thick layer of oil on the top which looked intentional but wasn't our cup of tea. The cornbread and mashed potatoes were good but nothing crazy in our opinion to write home about. Service was okay on our end, once our waiter realized we weren't getting any main entrees it felt like he ghosted us with no water until our food came out and then never came back to check in on us until he brought the check. We are going to try to come again next time we are in town in hopes we have a better experience and different menu!

I didn't have a reservation but I showed up minutes before opening to see if I could just grab a spot at the bar or luck out with a table since 1. it's a party of one and 2. I arrived before they opened. I should have bought a lottery ticket because not only did I get a seat, I had an experience that I won't soon forget. Starting with parking. There's a lot next to the restaurant. There's also street parking. I showed up early and was the second car in the lot. There was street parking too but when I left later in the evening, I didn't see spots available then. Then there was the service. EA was aces. She was friendly. Knowledgeable. Attentive. Just go down the list of all the attributes of someone you'd like to represent an establishment in the service industry and you'd check every single box. The team was just as great. As business picked up, the team took care of little things - even just checking in to see how I was doing. Then the food. See pics. I went with all of EA's recommendations including the wine pairings and dessert. If you're a follower, you know that I recommend checking out reviews we have in common to see if our tastes align - but here are my thoughts: Started with the Ceviche. Liked the flavor, though it was missing a punch like it was muted for my taste. I still cleared the plate. I really enjoyed the fried chicken, corn bread and broccolini. I liked both the seafood and mac & cheese but felt they didn't stand out like the fried chicken an corn bread. Remember now, that's my taste buds. I inhaled the panna cotta. Dessert is never optional. I'll sum it up and say that I'd order everything I had again, just probably not the mac & cheese. It was my first meal in Savannah. First time at Cotton & Rye. It won't be my last. And I don't even live in Savannah.

We were sat in what I believe used to be a front parlour, by a window over looking the street. We had a dual service with one person being the "main" server, his name was Michael. He was in charge of giving us the spiel and answering our questions. A woman (I forget her name, sorry! But she was lovely) was in charge of running the food and clearing the plates. It was a very well run machine. The menu is pre set, but there were choices on some of the courses, like course where an option was a soft shelled crab - I definitely wanted to take advantage of that! We started off with Biscuits with butter and homemade orange marmalade, these were delightful, so fluffy and soft, and the marmalade was sweet, not bitter like it sometimes can be. The Amuse bouche was a trio of tiny items: a pimento cheese tart, a mussel with chipotle sauce and panko, and a square of salmon with mild wasabi and ginger. The salmon was definitely my favorite. The fifth course had a special as I noted before, so I opted to go for that, it was a soft shell crab with garlic, herbs and a vidalia onion slaw. Topped with peanuts and a white wine sauce. I think my favorite course of them all was the scallops with the carrots and the whipped ricotta - so simple but so delicious! Phenomenal special occasion place or just to cross off your bucket list. If I am in Savannah again (and the likelihood is high, its such an amazing city), I will be back.
