Don't think comments saying this is only fad food are accurate. If anything I personally think this is the dining/ take out food of the future for those who can afford it. Sure you can get things high in sugar but from my experience eating here and always adding protein to my smoothie bowls, I feel a lot better after i eat them and full while satisfying my cravings without feeling gross after. My sweet tooth is gone and I feel great. Other than the music scene in Cbus this is my favorite thing about this city so far. Sure it's pricey but you're paying for what you get. This is the second location for alchemy. My daughter and I visited on their opening week around 5:30. Heard it was booming today at lunchtime but glad to have come at a quieter time. Lots of take out orders. What a great space to eat though!! The Grandview area is awesome and Alchemy is right in it! Avocado toast and the breakfast smoothie both amazing. Not too sweet. I've been to alchemy multiple times. Some of my orders have been the nutty dragon, kale Caesar, hummus pesto sandwich, stir fry, and multiple smoothies. The servers are always very kind, helpful, and attentive. I love the interiors decoration and style. In terms of the food, the smoothies and smoothie bowls are the best thing on the menu IMO. They do have better smoothie bowls than other juice bars in Columbus. But, they advertise as more of a restaurant/cafe. Considering that, the food is mediocre. Each time I got my food from the counter, I saw bread from Kroger, frozen fruit from Dole, and pre packaged hummus, condiments, and dressings. From their website - "Alchemy isn't your typical juice bar, and they like it that way. At Alchemy, we're committed to providing wholesome, scratch-made food that empowers health at the individual and community level. We believe in mindfully sourcing our fruits, veggies, bread, and beyond from a network of farmers and purveyors who align with our mission of providing super food for all people. This place was good but way over priced (right in Grandview so they can get away with the prices). I got the pesto Benedict but was very disappointed when the eggs were over-cooked and not poached, pretty much just hard boiled eggs with it, ruins egg Benedict that way. However, my boyfriend got a BLT that was soo good, the tomato slice was huge and super super fresh, so props to that! They also have metal straws for sale and has their logo on it which I thought was a cute touch. This used to be one of my favorite places to go in Columbus as well as the downtown location. As someone that worked for the parent company in the past, I am no longer impressed. The last 3 visits to this location have been unimpressive. The last two times, it took a very long time for a smoothie and toast to come out, while the restaurant was not even busy. This concerned me and I did not go back for a very long time. Today I decided to give it another try. With it being 60 degrees and sunny, I figured it would be nice to sit outside, since they have a patio and multiple tables. We asked if we can order food and sit outside, and we were told we could not. There was really no reasoning behind it, I mean they had several tables outside and just chose not to let us. This is very uncommon in other places in the US...When at other restaurants, we've called ahead to ask if we can sit outside and they said they we can and when we arrived we found out they normally do not but set a table up outside for us regardless. I think this is just a lack of customer service for something so easy by this location. I am very disappointed, yes they have good food and the owner comes up with very good recipes, the service is just not up to par with what it had been in the past. I had given this place 3 tries after a bad experience to try and see if they could work out the kinks. read more

We have deeply missed dining in with Alchemy so today we decided to order online with chownow. We got an alert stating the order would be ready at 9:10 am. When my boyfriend walked in to receive our order not only were we informed that the order would be delayed to after 9:30 but the male working was very rude and disrespectful. We decided to take a walk around grandview and not let that ruin our day. When we came back to pick up our order they still had not completed it but were completing other orders that were received FAR after ours. The staff was complaining about customers calling the store phone and said they were "stupid" if they couldn't order on chownow. Very disappointed in this service as the food is always great. It makes me not want to return to any alchemy brands. I'd love feedback for this. I understand we are living in a difficult times but common curtesy and respect is all we were asking for. read more

I really wanted to like this place based on what I've read and heard about this place but was a little disappointed after the meal I had. First, I'd like to say I really liked the interior, design, and the decor of the place. It's very bright and a nice place to have a healthy Sunday brunch. The staff were kind and friendly as well. It was my first visit so I wasn't sure how the ordering worked but there is a counter in the front when you enter and you're able to look at the menu and order. I went with a friend for their Sunday brunch. I ordered the hot coffee, egg sandwich (added in bacon), a side of the tri-potato and kale hash, and a side of the house sauce (suggestion from the host). My friend ordered a mimosa and the Mediterranean breakfast. I know Alchemy is known for their smoothies and bowls but I opted for a heavier meal. I wasn't handed a coffee mug at the counter originally, so I wasn't sure if it would be brought to the table or self service. I eventually realized I should've have received one at the front. When I eventually got to the coffee pot it was out so I just let the server know they were out. They were really friendly and apologetic and kept updating me when it would be ready. The kitchen is in the back with a window for a server to pick up and deliver the orders to tables. My friend had noticed a mimosa was sitting at the window counter for a while, not sure if it was hers or not. It was sitting there for about 10-15 minutes before being brought over. The coffee was eventually replaced but when I finally got some it was a little disappointing that there were a lot of coffee grounds in there. There was a delay in the food delivery as well, my friend received the Mediterranean breakfast first. The presentation was very pretty; however, she was hoping that there would've been more hummus than provided on the plate. Other than that, she enjoyed the dish as a whole. There was a delay in receiving my meal and the server apologized for the delay and thanked us for being patient. The sandwich was really big and looked amazing however it was mediocre in flavor, there didn't seem to be any salt or pepper in the egg. The only thing that really gave it flavor or a better taste was the sauce, but there wasn't enough of the sauce to really enjoy the sandwich. The tri-potato and kale hash also looked really nice, but didn't taste like much either and was a bit cold when I received it. Again I don't think there was any flavor, seasoning, or spice added into the hash. There also wasn't much kale in there. I never received the extra sauce I had ordered but I saw it sitting at the back counter. I was able to get the server and ask for the sauce and hot sauce. The server was a bit busy so I think he forgot until they walked by again and I had asked again, they brought over the hot sauce but not the other. I'm not sure if there was just some miscommunication or just being busy. Everyone working there was really nice and apologetic; however, I'd say they weren't very attentive to the orders. Overall the food I ordered wasn't the best, since I just think it didn't have a lot of flavor. I'm not sure if it was just a busy day to go or if I should've just stuck to the smoothies and bowls. However, I do want to try it again. I don't want one mediocre experience to taint my image of this place.The atmosphere and decor is really pretty and the servers were really kind. Although I didn't enjoy my meal, my friend enjoyed hers a lot so I'm rating three stars. I'll have to come back again to try their smoothies and bowls. read more
