If you know about BMW cars; then you know about locksmiths. Read on my friends, this is the best you can get. Found Alcatraz Locksmith online; described my BMW nightmare. Made appointment for Sat. 2/20/16 for 2 new blank key-fobs(Amazon) with internal circuit board + remote chip board inside the fobs. This locksmith has probably $10 - 20K in equipment for any job. My BMW keys were mated to the original key fob and electronically cut in one of his machines. Then, the on-board chip hardware in the BMW was removed, re-programmed to the new keys, and re-installed. After that, the remote door locks were reset to the new fobs. My appointment was at his residence and well worth it. There's no Israeli Mossad agents coming to your house to re-key your wife; and God knows what else. :) Simply superb expert skill and knowledge for the most complicated lock matters. read more

My 2013 Ford Focus key disappeared in Scottsdale this weekend and after a futile search for it, went on a hunt for a locksmith to come rekey it. I called Todd in an attempt to save a few $$ from the extensive list of locksmith's that the rental company provided and he told me that he would be the one of the few in the area that would have the correct equipment to replace a key like that. He was right. After calling every single locksmith on the list, most of whom guaranteed they could do it and could not, Todd came out and made the key. Todd, the owner of Alcatraz family owned business, long long time Arizona resident is simply the best in his business, He's sort of like the uncle you always loved and was there to help you, that kind of man. To put it forthright, I've been in the valley for 50 some plus years, and my experiences with the locksmith industry are most of them, not all mind you most, treat you as if they have the last gallon of water and you are wondering Aimlessly in the Sahara desert in search of it, and they triple the price, not the case with Todd, Walmart pricing with Costco Quality. Today I had the pleasure of meeting Craig at the residential job site to re-key 14 locks. Todd is amazing! I'm in California, I had a truck driver in Phoenix, locked out of his truck with his phone and keys inside. I called one company, it was going to be two hours before they could get there, and they recommended Todd. I called him and he said he could be there in an hour. Yay! Going through the VW Dealership is a HUGE hassle and cost....around $350 +, that's not even including having to tow the car to the dealership. I am leasing a 2010 Scion xB and returning it soon since the end of my lease term is nearing. I had lost one of my two keys to the vehicle, which includes an all in one key/key-fob. Knowing that I had to have both keys when I returned the vehicle at the conclusion of the lease, I checked with a dealership on how much it would cost to acquire and program a replacement key. Needless to say, the price quoted was excessive (over $200). So, I began to look at more affordable alternatives. I was able to locate a key/key-fob via Ebay, but wasn't sure if I should proceed. After calling a few auto locksmiths, I spoke with Todd at Alcatraz. I could tell he was a busy man who got lots of "locksmith" inquiry calls, so I didn't want to waste his time. However, he did take the time with me on the phone suggesting how to make sure I purchase the correct key, etc. He provided this info while knowing I could possibly go to another locksmith after I bought the key to get it cut and programmed. That in itself is good customer service! Another locksmith or two didn't provide nearly as much information (or were simply hard to understand). With the info Todd provided, I ordered the key, which came a few days later. Then I called Todd back to make an appointment. He met me on a Saturday late morning and cut/programmed the key in less than 15 minutes. He even found a flaw with the key I bought and fixed it. Plus, he did this at a wonderful price, saving me easily over $100 (if not more). I couldn't have been more pleased and highly recommend Alcatraz Locksmith. One other note which shows that this locksmith is a reputable one... Todd had fielded a call which he was completing upon my arrival to meet with him. While not going into details, I'll simply say that Todd was honest and forthright with whomever he was talking to, providing them advise on where to go for service for their particular auto issue as their request was outside the scope/reach of his services.
