Long Boring Full Review: after spending almost an hour calling around on a late on a Friday (i mention because its right around closing time for most places) i was refereed to Alcatraz i gave him a call told him my problem which was i lost my key to my new motorcycle which not even the dealership i purchased it from could make me a copy of the key all i had was a key-tag. anyways he said he could make me a key from that (assuming i provide proof its my bike) which was a relief since i only was able to find 3 companies who could make my key one which wanted to charge to come out to my bike and would not let me just come to them at $150 and another company that despite being only 15 minutes away and calling them at 4:35 pm and they close at 5pm refused to help until they re open on Monday. so the offer of Saturday morning for $25 seamed very reasonable. when on the phone with him he asked some basic details about my bike and my key-tags number. Saturday morning i gave him a call to let him know i was coming and when i got to his van he had the key pre made and ready to go i couldn't believe it he showed me how the numbers line up from my key-tag to make the key but i still have my doubts but i asked him to make me another copy which he did for only $5 more (which is great) so when i got home i tried the key and it worked wonderfully (most new key copies kinda feel like there scratching the lock when you insert them but not this one it felt like the keys that came with the bike i was very impressed) i will make the 40 minute drive again for all my future key needs as i was very impressed (so much so that I'm creating a yelp account just for this review and putting a copy on Google as well) read more

People who are giving this guy a bad review are either looking for something for free, or are just mean people to start with. I have 1998 Deville who's computer decided to stop reading my key and threw my car in no start mode. I went through 2 ASE Certified Mobile techs come out and neither of them could fix it, they were clueless and both suggested I take it to a Cadillac dealership, yeah like that is a affordable option. So I called a Cadillac dealership who told me to try a " good locksmith" they said Cadillac knows about this issue, but will not do a recall because no one will die or get hurt over this faulty part, which it is according to Cadillac, the ignition is faulty, it was a bad design.Anyways, so I called Todd, I admit, his phone skills are not the best, but its because he knows what he is doing, and wants to get the right info to give a accurate quote. I get it. When he showed up, he was top shelf. He not only by passed the entire anti theft, he did it in less then a hour, and when it came time to pay the bill, he only charged me half of the quote because it was much quicker and simple to do once he got it properly diagnosed, and that action right there shows me this guy is legit, and top shelf. I lost one of my keys for my 2014 Ducati Monster 796. I looked all over to get it replaced, no one could do it, not even the dealer who said it was impossible without the 5-digit code. I bought my Ducati from that very dealer, they never gave me a card with a 5-digit code. You're supposed to get that card and two black keys, I just got the keys. The usual way to get it replaced is buy a blank key from Ducati for $90, then have a locksmith laser-cut the key (another $40-$50), then you can (have Ducati or do it yourself) program the newly laser cut key with the bike using the 5-digit code on the card. Without that card you're basically SOL. Without any keys or card, you need to replace the entire gauge panel, ignition, etc. - $2000-$3000!! There is another way, it is called the Ducati Key Clone, a knowledgable locksmith can use the remaining key you have to duplicate another functional key (laser-cut and programmed). Only one locksmith in Phoenix area can do it - ALCATRAZ LOCKSMITH (602) 677-5045 ask for Todd Hagan. It took him 10 minutes - fully functional key at about $100. Most people dread the day that they get locked out or lose their keys. I woke up early Sunday morning, got ready for work, and then realized that I could not find the keys anywhere. I searched the house high and low, still no keys. I realized it was time to make a phone call. I called a few places that said they could come out within 15 minutes only to find out that they would be out the next day. So I continued to search and came across Alcatraz Locksmith, called them up and spoke with Todd himself, he told me the price and that he could make it out within a few hours. It's true. .. these are the guys the locksmiths call. My son lost his car keys while on a trip and was returning to the airport on Sunday night. It was a smart key, and I thought we'd have to drive up from Tucson to pick him up and then make another trip up to the mitsubishi dealership on Monday. Another locksmith said they couldn't help me but alcatraz could. Sure enough, they responded within five minutes to my phone call (another locksmith I left a message with still hasn't returned my call! ). He went out to the airport and spent close to an hour hunting through the airport parking lots to find the car. Then when he found it the battery was dead! He jumped it and was able to make a spare key that bypassed the electronic system. He was pleasant, competent, professional, and truly went the second mile. Honestly, I read these yelp reviews and was a tad skeptical! I locked myself out of my car at my local Qdoba's and called around to a few different locksmiths where I was given estimates ranging from 89-100 dollars! And wait time was between 1-2 hours! I saw these reviews on yelp, so I decided to call. The man who helped me was extremely kind and gave me a flat rate of 65 bucks and said he could be there in 30 minutes (another problem was that none of the other locksmiths had any idea where Qdoba was, but he said "right by the Sauce?", and I was like "YES!!!!"). When he got there he was quick and efficient and did not waste any time. He had my car keys hooked and out within 10 minutes and didn't add on any extra fees so it STAYED at 65 for the service. I can not explain how highly I recommend them and if I'm ever this dumb again, they'll be the first I call! read more

I have owed Todd this review for almost a year. He helped me fix my key to my Honda Pilot when it stopped working. It is not uncommon for this car to have these problem, but all of the places that I spoke with wanted a ridiculous amount of money and I would miss time from work. After speaking with Todd he explained that he had dealt with this before and made me feel confident to trust that he would take care of it. He did not let me down. He came to my home that evening and replaced the key. I just used him recently again since my keys were stolen. He was there within hours of me speaking with him. Found them online while searching for locksmiths in Goodyear Arizona, I am from out of state (Ohio) and purchased a motor home online, and I was told it didn't have any other keys except for the ignition! I contacted them and they told me they would only be able to make the keys if I was onsite with the motor home, So when I landed this last Monday, I called them and They Dispatched Larry to meet me at the yard where the motor home was. We set up an appointment, and the day-of I called Todd to confirm the time of the appointment and it ended up being assigned to Josh at the last minute. Despite that, Josh arrived within 15 minutes of the originally planned time, and he also was helpful and knowledgeable, and also very polite. I had my keys stolen from my BMW Z3 a month ago. I contacted Todd at Alcatraz Locksmith and made arrangements to get a new key and the stolen keys deleted from my car's computer. After picking up the car one hour later I received my new key and was provided a slideshow of computer snapshots showing that my stolen keys were deleted. As a matter of fact, they showed me I actually had an additional four keys outstanding that they also deleted from the car's computer as well. The ignition switch went out in my mom's 1992 Buick, luckily the car was in her garage. I called a few mechanic places but none would do the work and they all recommended I take it to the dealership - which meant calling a tow truck. Found Todd at Alcatraz Locksmith and he said he could get the part (which I thought would be difficult for such an old car) and do the work right in my mom's garage! He fixed it in 2 hours, including making extra keys. The only downside was we had to wait almost a week for an appointment (but it was over the Labor Day weekend). Todd is a ninja! I had lost my one and only key to my truck and the replacement keys I got from the dealership were the wrong keys. I had no other option but to call a locksmith. He showed up and did everything by hand. It took him no longer than 5 minutes to use a bump key and find my lock configuration, then cut me a key, opened my truck and started it up.
