When we bought our present home, I added high security deadbolts on all exterior doors. Standard garden-variety exterior locksets are not much in the way of security. I had bought a safe from this company (previously Hicks Safe and Locks) 18 years ago. My safe malfunctioned today, and I contacted the old telephone number on the instructions that came with the safe. A woman (Melissa) answered the call. She was not in the office and I explained what my problem was. She patched me through to someone named Doug, who went out of his way to help me. He telephoned the manufacturer with the serial number of the safe. Doug actually called me back and walked me through the entire process to bring the safe back to its Factory Settings. I can't say enough about how courteous both Melissa and Doug were. Doug was very patient, waiting for me to follow his instructions. I am 81 years old, not very mechanically savvy, and yet he patiently waited for me to take the steps necessary to unlock the safe. He was fast, polite, professional, courteous, he gave me calls along the way, and kept us informed, and when I met him I felt super comfortable having him in my home. I came in looking for keys to be made of a new camper shell (ARE-Z) after being turned away by Lowes, Home Depot and Ace. Anderson did not have a blank to use to cut the new style key, But Billy found a key blank that he cut down by hand the old-fashioned way, to attempt to make a working key. After 20 to 30 minutes, he had a key that looked like it was a match. It was like watching an artist at work and even though it ultimately failed he really tried, and the attempt looked perfect. I've owned this cabinet for 20 years and this door has been locked the whole time. It requires a skeleton key which I do not have. I spoke with John at Anderson and he suggested I bring it over and leave it with him and he would see what he could do. I left the cabinet with him and we planned for me to come back on Monday. 5 minutes after I left I received a call from John. He said, "It's done! Come on back and get your cabinet!" Wait what?
