Todd will now be my go-to for all of my locksmith needs! I highly recommend!!! I just needed to get duplicate keys cut for my car. Initially went to Autozone and was told a locksmith would need to laser cut the key (which Autozone couldn't do). I reached out to other locksmiths prior to getting ahold of Todd. Some weren't available, some relocated, another even mentioned that they charge more for service on the weekend. I was able to get ahold of Todd via text and was able to get an appointment with him the next morning (which I'm just now finding out was supposed to be his day off). He was able to cut the keys (and it didn't look like a laser was used) for $40 each which is a very fair and reasonable price for anyone I imagine. Asides from the service, Todd comes off as an overall great human being that seems to love what he does. We exchanged some words, shared some laughs and I was all set (after my key fobs were programmed as well) about 10 to 15 minutes later. I can't recommend this guy and his business enough. In reading other reviews of Alcatraz Locksmith, I see everyone has given them five stars.. My experience today was such that I won't change that. Here's another five stars! Todd arrived when he said he would and went to work. He was more than willing to answer my questions and was quite agreeable about how he did it. The answers were also couched in layman's terms that I could understand. He is very efficient and doesn't waste time about what he is doing. I have to admit I was amazed to see all the equipment and supplies he carries in his work van. He also works clean and doesn't leave a mess when he is done. Todd also quoted me an approximate price for what he'd be doing for me. I can't say I was thrilled but the job had to be done so what else could I do but grin and bear it. What really gave me a grin was when the cost was enough below the estimate to surprise me. Then when I told him I had to use two different credit cards for business reasons, he was gracious about doing it that way. This has not always been the case with service people. I know it's a few days late, but Todd did an amazing job helping me replace the lost key to my Prius. He was extremely polite, very friendly, and made a point to contact me throughout the day to update me on when he would be arriving. Plus, I have to commemorate him for working for a half hour in the 110 degree weather without the air conditioner running (my AC doesn't work half the time, and when I came out to check on him I felt horrible.) I used them in the past a few years ago. They did a great job, so I called them a second time, because I had a roommate that moved out. I support small businesses that give good service. He gave me a quote over the phone which I felt was fare. I told him I had 3 locks which needed changing. The quote was based on that. Once the technician arrived the price changed because I had a security door which is keyed on both sides. There was a little confusion, but quickly resolved. They did a great job rekeying all of my locks. I tested them before the technician left and tested the automatic lock, all worked great. They are easy to work with, arrived on time, and great service. I will use them again if needed and send referrals. They are veterans and I support all veteran businesses. read more

I called this company because so many of their reviews were so high and they clearly make an effort and care about their product (i.e.: they *have* an active Facebook page). Whoever answered the phone when I called was anything but "customer friendly". I am moving into a new house and need my security door and front door rekeyed. I asked for an estimate and was told it would be the service cost plus $10 per key hole. I don't know about you, but I don't memorize things like how many key holes are in a door I've unlocked once... when I asked a clarifying question to figure out a closer estimate, the tone of voice and abrupt reply were both very condescending and, again, short. I had to figure out "what I don't know" and ask several follow-up questions to PULL the information out of this guy. I will be finding a different company to do business with.
