Been here a few times. Have eaten in and taken to go orders. Have ordered lots of food. Usually I will order a larger container of lamb with a container of salad. I pay $20 plus dollars for a container of gyro meat - lamb and was so surprised when I found out he was charging me extra for the each white sauce that goes with the meat. You get one free. That was my very first turn off with this place. Today I went in and explained that I wanted a side salad and a small side oder of lamb to go. Plus another order. When I got home I had a small salad with 4 round pieces of kabob meat on top of my salad. I could only shake my head. I told the guy that answered the phone. I clearly asked for lamb - not kabob. My granddaughter & I tried this place for the first time!! Let me say that this little hole in the wall has amazing & delicious Mediterranean food! The Dolma appetizer was filling & tasty! Since that time, I not only enjoy eating at great Mediterranean restaurants, but love cooking it at home as well. So...I get a bit picky about anything from my hummus, baba-ganouj, tabbouleh, kafta, and so on. Fortunately, Alladin Cafe is definitely worthy of my FIVE STAR rating, and the food speaks for itself! Centered in a strip-shop setting off of N. Crowley road, Aladdin Cafe is definitely worth the drive from just about anywhere in the Metroplex! The restaurant is quaint and very clean with table seating. In fact, it is rather sparse in any sort of decor, but that certainly is made up in the heavenly flavors of the food here. Lunch menus are sized-down as are the prices, but for a few dollars more, you can get the dinner-sized option if you're indeed hungry enough. The menu hosts many favorite dishes (as suggested above), as well as lamb kabobs, gyro sandwiches, and an array of various appetizers (Mezze) that are certain to please any appetite. Most menu items are served in a simple way, with just the right amount of garnish and sauce (where applicable). Aromas and flavors definitely rival anything found in more expensive metropolitan areas, and their flavors are simply spot-on! Update: we've ordered to go from Aladdin many times over the last 4 years and it's mostly good. We decided to just stay and eat in tonight. As I have previously said the place isn't known for its ambiance. They've tried to hang a few things on the walls but it's pretty basic. The place actually looks and smells very clean. Today I got the "Check in" deal which was a free mint tea and baklava. When the tea came I was surprised it was HOT tea. Never imagined; I guess because it was 98° outside I had assumed it was iced tea. Anyway, once it cooled it was pretty good. The food is consistently good and super fresh. I always get the gyro plate that comes with 2 sides so I get hummus and saffron rice. The food is pretty consistent. They are short staffed so the guy that was serving us was doing everything. He seemed to handle it pretty well. Lots of people stopping by to get take out. It's a good weeknight meal when you're in the mood to get take out. read more

Came here after someone said it was amazing Greek food. Gotta know the demographics of reviewers. First the ambiance was extremely underwhelming. No other patrons in the restaurant when we arrived should have been my first clue. Had a very low end diner feel. Confusion set in on if we should sit down and order with a waiter or walk up to the guy standing at the counter/register. We ordered chicken skewers with rice. The rice was bland and overcooked. The chicken was dry. We got the fried cauliflower which was drowning in oil. The pita bread was very thin, chewy and slightly stale tasting. The humus was very good and the babaghanoush was excellent which is why this place got 2 stars. Despite us and another table that came in after us, we didn't receive a bill from our waiter who just disappeared. Needless to say I'd never come back. Sad what people think is good food around here. read more

I'll never give a 1 star unless the food is just terrible, but I really thought about that for this review. I've never been to Aladdin Cafe, but have heard great things about it, which may be why the disappointment hit so hard tonight. Ordered delivery through GrubHub and recieved the exact order I placed, so as far as them getting the food out the door and to me just as I ordered, a 5/5. Ordered the children's gyro for my 2 year old and the chicken schwarma plate for myself. Added on some falafel and kibbeh as I enjoy both and wanted to see how they taste coming out of the Aladdin Cafe kitchen. Topped the order off with an order of kinafa. The good: The falafel was pretty standard. Good flavor. The Kinafa was also pretty good. No complaints here. The bad: The rest of the order was so bland and so dry. The chicken was incredibly dry and did not have any of the flavors I expect from a good chicken schwarma. And when I say dry, I mean, I had to take a drink of water on multiple bites to get it down. Got about halfway through the schwarma and ended up having to toss it. Same with the falafel, either the composition of the "batter" is dry or it was incredibly overcooked. Again, it was also very bland. The kibbeh was not dry, but also lacked flavor. This must be what it is like for people who have lost their taste from COVID go through on a daily basis. Had my wife try it all just to make sure it wasn't me, and she agreed about the overall blandness of the food. If you love this place, that is awesome. I love that independently run businesses, but this place is not for me. I doubt I will be back. read more

The food here was pretty solid. The chicken schwarma was flavorful. And the rice very yellow. The only thing was i dont think the chicken schwarma was made on rotisserie and it was a bit chewy, i could be wrong. Regardless it was decent food. The baklava was very delicious. Got the cheeseburger kids meal and the burger was a bit large for a little kid. That's not a complaint. One complaint though we also got a kids meal chicken nuggets and it was supposed to be 7 pieces according to the menu but my god daughter only got 5 pieces. read more

If you have not stopped at this cafe located in a tiny strip mall on old Crowley Road, you are missing something big! Me and my family love this place. The kabobs are seriously good; get the mixed grill with lamb, chicken, and steak! And every one of their side items are fresh and bursting with flavor. I've eaten at many middle eastern places and I've spent several months in the Middle East so believe me when I say that this place is amazing. I had Kafta with Hummus and rice. Meat was dry. Everything else on point. My son had a lamb kabob. Tender and moist. Hightlight was baklava. Sweet and flaky. Very rich dessert.
