I believe this restaurant had a recent name change to Babel, but is owned by the same family. The food was great! Lots of options, cafeteria style. Great service and beautifully decorated restaurant.

4 sudes + 1 meat, the meat for this one is chicken. Lentil soup was part of the sides choices.

Food was great. Portion is huge. That plate is a big plate. So many sides to choose from. Price is very reasonable/ very economical for Mediterranean food. Service was also very good. We love it and it's our favorite place now.

Fruit bowl consists of blueberries, grapes, & pineapples.

Went here on a Wednesday for lunch. It was me & my friend's first time here. We didn't know it was a grab a tray go through the line, & sit where you kind of thing but the staff was very helpful! I also saw on after we sat down that there was a sign to the right of the menu with directions on what to do. However, when asking the staff what to do one of the nice employees walked us through the stations to explain things. :) Lots of wonderful variety for sides, beautiful presentation & the counters were clean. Easy to order your sandwich if you are getting one made & they give you a number so they can bring it to your table. I had water, it tasted very lemonadey - I know the water option was on the lemonade selection but I typically don't have that happen at other restaurants. I got a gyro sandwich & fruit. The sandwich was good, it just didn't wow me but that doesn't mean I didn't enjoy my lunch. The tzatziki sauce was a little thin though. The fruit was fresh & sweet! My friend had a meat (chicken) plate with a variety of sides & pita bread. It was a lot of food, she liked it & finished it all. Staff regularly stopped by our table to see if we needed anything, really kudos to them for superb service!

Friday night dinner around 6:30p with family. Walked in, pleasantly welcomed by staff, and entered the line to order. Everything looked delicious. I decided on the 1 meat and two side plate. It comes with 2 pita. Pita is being made right there, fresh. It's so good!! Dining area was nice and clean. Plenty of seating and we were checked on. No complaints about anything! 4 meals of the 1 meat/2 side plus drinks and tip was less than $80. Not bad considering the amount and quality of the food.

Wow. I picked this spot for a lunch meeting and we were not disappointed. Apparently other locations are true buffets, but this one you tell the server what you want and they make your plate as you go down the line. Didn't bother me. Great food, and a definite add to the lunch meeting rotation.

I was really surprised that they now offer ALL-DAY BUFFET! Shawarma and Lamb are not on it though. After 6pm, it's 25.99. I believe it is 19.99 for lunchtime. Always worth it because the food is Always Great and fresh!

The thought of hummus

Thinking about hummus? Think again. Because that's all you're going to get at this place the thought of hummus every time I come here I regret it. The portions get smaller and smaller and smaller and now the portions are so small that you can see the bottom of it to go to container.Don't get me wrong. The flavor is good. It's just not enough food. Sure they'll pour your order full of rice and potatoes but when you order something else, you don't get anything else. This is by far the most stingy restaurant in all of DFW. They put a small dollop of hummus in your container and then smeared around with a spoon to make it look like more. You can clearly see the bottom of the container and what used to be a full section in the to go box is now just the hint or possibly the thought of hummus. Don't waste your time or your money because this place will do it for you.

So so so yummy!! The roasted cauliflower and roasted potatoes is my favorite! The pita bread, cucumber salad, cilantro zucchini and tzaki are my favorite! The gyro meat and shawarma chicken are divine! I love eating here. The lamb shank is bomb!. Service is always great, everyone is helpful. It's a cafeteria style restaurant. Food is always fresh and delicious.

The food is absolutely, consistently delicious (5*) and we order delivery from here often. Today we tried dining in and it was a disappointing experience (same with the party in front of us apparently) simply because of the setup. You start with a menu that doesn't list sides and go through a line to pick # of meats and sides. First you get your fresh pita (amazing but will get cold when you start here). Then you go through sides, but you again don't know them all without doing a walkthrough in a single file line. Making some operational adjustments would make a big difference. For example, ordering meat first so that 1) you are told when it will take 15min, 2) don't let your bread or warm sides get cold, and 3) you may change your sides if the meat you want isn't readily available. These small factors would have added up to a nice experience. We'll continue to order the great food for at home, but it was really unpleasant trying to figure out what's readily available, the side options, in a line organized like this with a child as well - especially held up with the party in front of us making the same complaint about selecting most of your order before finding out some of the meat will take 10-15m when ordered.

We've eaten there on site and had big family packs to go. The food is always great. You feel like you're in a different cultural setting than most American restaurants. Located in Arlington, the restaurant is divided in 2 sections and the place has quite a casual and local vibe We, a party of 5 were immediately seated and the server aptly took our order. As we were famished, we ordered..a lot: -Mazza Plate -Falafel -Fries -Gyro Special Plate -2 Chicken Shawarma(Bank Special) plate (comes with Rice, Hummus, Tzatziki sauce and Pita) -Falafel Plate - Gyro Sandwich Dessert: -Baklava -Burma Since we love spicy, we asked for our food to be spiced up. 5-10 mins later, the food began to arrive. First impression was the portion size was huge. At the onset we knew we ordered too much. The Mazza plate was amazing with assortment of Middle-Eastern appetizers i.e. hummus, babaganoush, tabouli salad, dolmas, with kalamata olives and pita. We absolutely loved the dimas and the hummus and pita bread was fresh. The Shawarma plates were pretty decent and the chicken and gyro meats were well cooked and seasoned, however the spicy sauce they use was a bit more on the tangy side than on spicy side. Which was a let down. Falafels we crunchy and were pretty decent. The fries however were huge let down. They were too oily and the taste of overused oil was pretty evident. The best part for us were the desserts. The Baklava was great but the Burma blew us away. The roasted Cashes and angel hair with honey was truly delicious. To Foodies: This is quite a famous place for middle easter food, main reason being it was covered by The food network. Do try their Shawarma Plate , especially Gyro plate, it is pretty awesome. Also the quantity is good. However, I would recommend to stay away from fries or be careful of deep fried items. Do try the desserts, you'll fall in love. Overall, it is a good place but I have had much better. May be the standards have gone down a bit over the years. To Management: You have a wonderful staff, good location and the food is pretty decent..However I'd recommened to keep a check on your oil used for deep fried stuff. The fries were a huge let down. One bite and i frlt that bad taste of oil at the back of my throat. Also please revamp your spicy sauce a bit. Too much vinegar. Overall Rating: 6.5/10 Signing off Rahul V.S. aka CanIndian Foodie

The good was delicious- we ordered the family style (chicken and lamb) - the girls likes the chicken and the guys go for the lamb and even had a little for the guys to take home. Well I hope it is isolated and not because they are growing too fast. I'd give 3.5 stars for this visit if I could. There was more staff than I've ever seen before however things seemed a little chaotic. One waitress rushed by the counter and knocked straws all over the floor - she saw she did it and didn't stop or come back to pick them up - one of the guys picked them up when he went by. There was a table that was uncleared nearly our entire meal - and the plates still had some food on them which I thought was unusual (I'm used to seeing clean plates or to-go bags). Our waitress was chaotic - hyper, rushed, and distracted. Not giving normal Fattoush vibes. The hummus was delicious as usual. Beautiful, & velvety. Their hummus has become my standard for what it should be. The grape leaves were extremely tart - tasted like a mouth full of vinegar. I haven't ordered them in a while and am hoping this is not a recipe change. Finished one & couldn't eat any more. The garlic dip was tamed way down. Made me sad because I like the stronger garlic. Again, hoping this is a one-off. An owner at another local establishment had told me that many tame it down because of the American palate. I can understand needing to find that balance of staying authentic vs please customers but I'm going to need the secret password to get the real stuff! Lol. (But seriously - if you know it, please let me know!) After trying their burger awhile back, my Mom hasn't been able to order anything but that as her entree. It is great. Steak fries are same as straight up American steak fries and good. She said next time she'll get the sauce on the side because it was heavy handed this time and overpowered the delicious meat. Bun wasn't holding up as it usually does. The chicken shish tawook was good as always however I was missing the bite from garlic dip. I love their rice! They have great yellow rice too. My husband and I shared and had some to bring home for one lunch. I got a piece of Iraqi bread because I've never ordered it before- it was really good! Served warm and bigger than large dinner plate. On our way out, while we were checking out the beautiful patio and new area to come, we had a 5 STAR moment when we saw Chef Bashar. I asked him if he'd consider doing a borek appetizer sometime as we had a delicious cigar (bc it was rolled) borek at a place in Dallas. He was very open to the idea and said they will be having 2 different menus when the new concept opens and adding more vegetable options. He also noticed my husband looking at the Palastine Cola in the drink case and told him to take one home and try. I thought this was extremely nice and generous. I look forward to continuing to support this great local business and believe this night was just an off night. You can also follow them on instagram to watch them make dishes, see specials & restaurant updates.

This is what I tried: equivalent of Chicken biryani, Beef Biryani, a lamb/beef curry dish and something like a beef dish in excess sour cream like sauce (not that great)... All the meat is bone in... No boneless dishes which is strange considering it was a weekend and most middle eastern cuisine always had boneless dishes like tikka, seekh kebabs/Reshmi kebabs, tikia etc. Both biryanis were excellent, especially the chicken biryani which tasted a lot like the Indian/Pakistani biryani - if I ever go again it will be solely for the biryani. Another complaint- being a weekend there was no dessert in the buffet. I did not order anything to drink, just the buffet and yet the cashier charged me a dollar extra for samosas(???)...

It's not exactly close to me, but the menu convinced us to give it a try. My husband went with the buffet and enjoyed the variety -- hummus, gyro, salad, and pita bread -- and felt the price was a great value for what was offered. I ordered the pastitsio. It wasn't quite the same as the versions I've had in Chicago, where I've enjoyed both homemade and restaurant-made versions. This one was still enjoyable, but not as flavorful as I remembered. The béchamel sauce was creamy, though I felt it needed a bit more seasoning, and the tomato sauce leaned a little too soupy for my taste. I took the moussaka to go. It had a very similar flavor profile to the pastitsio, but instead of pasta, it featured layers of eggplant and ground beef. It was comforting and hearty, though the flavors felt a bit repetitive between the two dishes. The cheese bread that came with both the pastitsio and moussaka was really good -- warm, soft, and a great pairing with the meal. Service was fantastic -- friendly and attentive -- and the space, while small, had a cozy, homey feel. Overall, I'm glad I finally got my pastitsio fix, and it was a pleasant experience.
