Andalous is one of my favorite places to eat in Arlington. It's a cafeteria style restaurant with many combo plates, salads, meats, veggies and more. A while back I went and the vegetable combo had gone up to $20! Now it's back down to $16 so I'm back. The food is as good as ever. Homemade everything. Two versions of hummus, regular and spicy, and both are delicious! Tatziki, tabouli and garbanzo salad as well as stuffed grape leaves, chicken and beet salad. And hot sides are also available on the veggie plate! Rice pilaf, roasted cauliflower, eggplant and several more. The cauliflower was amazing! If you get a meat they have many but the tenderloin kabab ("beef kabab"") was a huge hit at my table. Cooked to perfection on the charcoal grill. Just fabulous. They've got shwarma, gyro sandwiches and even more delicious meats and the freshest vegetables. The pita bread is fresh from the oven- a steaming hot pillow of goodness. They have several types of canned and bottled drinks including yogurt drink and San Pelligrino, a couple of iced teas, lemonade and various fountain drink choices. No alcohol here. If you have never been, go and if you've been, go back because it's definitely worth the visit. It is a great place to enjoy tasty homemade Lebanese, Mediterranean and Greek food. Oh! My husband and I love Mediterranean food. We had been looking forward to giving this place a try. I had the beef kabob, rice, Greek salad and zucchini. The beef and rice were delicious. The salad was ok. The zucchini was loaded with cilantro. I hate cilantro. Very disappointed in that. My husband's food on the other hand was a big let down. He had Greek salad, zucchini, eggplant, lamb shank and curry chicken. Zucchini - he doesn't like cilantro either. The eggplant was too bitter to eat. The lamb shank was very tender but flavorless. The curry chicken was dry, despite being in a sauce and flavorless. And to add insult to injury both meats came with a hefty upcharge. read more

This place is amazing! The food is so fresh and flavorful and there are so many options to choose from. The service was also great, it's not full service technically but they sure treat it like it is! Checked on us a few times and even cleaned up after us. Such a wonderful experience, I wish we lived nearby so we could go more often. read more

Wow! This place had me shocked the entire time I was there from entrance to exit. Absolutely GORGEOUS inside with lovely music the entire time. Lots and lots of options with friendly staff. The restrooms were pristine and all of my family absolutely loved every single dish they had. Went here on a Wednesday for lunch. It was me & my friend's first time here. We didn't know it was a grab a tray go through the line, & sit where you kind of thing but the staff was very helpful! I also saw on after we sat down that there was a sign to the right of the menu with directions on what to do. However, when asking the staff what to do one of the nice employees walked us through the stations to explain things. :) Lots of wonderful variety for sides, beautiful presentation & the counters were clean. Easy to order your sandwich if you are getting one made & they give you a number so they can bring it to your table. I had water, it tasted very lemonadey - I know the water option was on the lemonade selection but I typically don't have that happen at other restaurants. I got a gyro sandwich & fruit. The sandwich was good, it just didn't wow me but that doesn't mean I didn't enjoy my lunch. The tzatziki sauce was a little thin though. The fruit was fresh & sweet! My friend had a meat (chicken) plate with a variety of sides & pita bread. It was a lot of food, she liked it & finished it all. Friday night dinner around 6:30p with family. Walked in, pleasantly welcomed by staff, and entered the line to order. Everything looked delicious. I decided on the 1 meat and two side plate. It comes with 2 pita. Pita is being made right there, fresh. It's so good!! Dining area was nice and clean. Plenty of seating and we were checked on. No complaints about anything! 4 meals of the 1 meat/2 side plus drinks and tip was less than $80. Not bad considering the amount and quality of the food. read more

Thinking about hummus? Think again. Because that's all you're going to get at this place the thought of hummus every time I come here I regret it. The portions get smaller and smaller and smaller and now the portions are so small that you can see the bottom of it to go to container.Don't get me wrong. The flavor is good. It's just not enough food. Sure they'll pour your order full of rice and potatoes but when you order something else, you don't get anything else. This is by far the most stingy restaurant in all of DFW. They put a small dollop of hummus in your container and then smeared around with a spoon to make it look like more. You can clearly see the bottom of the container and what used to be a full section in the to go box is now just the hint or possibly the thought of hummus. This place has a non-trivial way it operates and if you don't follow the chain of choosing salad , dips , meat etc and try to order something out of the menu , they get confused . I was trying to order the special pies from the menu and the person behind the counter didn't even know what these are I was able to eventually order a few items : 1) falafel plate - very fresh and tasty. The accompanied tahini was pretty bland and bad. .4/5 2) bread with the hard white cheese - was ok , for some reason they put a ton of pickles on it which doesn't go together well . The dough was also so so. 3/5 3) red snapper fillet - not bad . Not great. 4/5 4) spicy hummus - had a weird after taste pretty bad, . 2/5 To summarise , I was not impressed . I honestly can not be more happy with this restaurant. Being on a non-dairy diet has been really tough going to restaurants and trusting that they didn't use butter on their food. Here, the staff knew exactly what they used and reassured me that there was not going to be an issue accommodating my restricted diet. I have even Ubereats this place and called up the restaurant to tell them to exclude tzatziki from my dish and they wrote "no tzatziki" on my takeout container. The food is absolutely, consistently delicious (5*) and we order delivery from here often. Today we tried dining in and it was a disappointing experience (same with the party in front of us apparently) simply because of the setup. You start with a menu that doesn't list sides and go through a line to pick # of meats and sides. First you get your fresh pita (amazing but will get cold when you start here). Then you go through sides, but you again don't know them all without doing a walkthrough in a single file line. Making some operational adjustments would make a big difference. For example, ordering meat first so that 1) you are told when it will take 15min, 2) don't let your bread or warm sides get cold, and 3) you may change your sides if the meat you want isn't readily available. These small factors would have added up to a nice experience. We'll continue to order the great food for at home, but it was really unpleasant trying to figure out what's readily available, the side options, in a line organized like this with a child as well - especially held up with the party in front of us making the same complaint about selecting most of your order before finding out some of the meat will take 10-15m when ordered. read more

Best Mediterranean food I've had in a long time. Grab a tray and utensils when you walk in, snag some fresh oven-baked pitas, then start ordering. I got the veggie platter and was not disappointed, although it was hard to choose only 1-2 items from each section. There's salad, soup, dips, veggies, meats, and desserts. Favorite elements of the meal: zucchini, rice, fries, and the walnut baklava. I would say the ordering process /servers were a little disorganized. I ended up with one giant plate and 2 bowls of food, which they handed to me over the glass divider (short, so hard to reach) and I came in contact with their bare hands, which they didn't wash afterwards. I didn't see hats hairnets or gloves which always leaves me a little uneasy. But aside from that we had a great experience, so much delicious food for a very reasonable price. We were immediately greeted when walking in. The place is nice & clean. The setup reminds me of Luby's where you grab your tray and point to what you want. My friend and I both decided to go with the one entree three sides option, which comes with 2 pitas. I chose the curry chicken, cucumber salad, roasted cauliflower, & vermicelli rice. I also got a side order of falafel. My friend chose the roast beef with roasted cauliflower, pasta salad, and green beans. My friend's pita bread was hard because it was overcooked but she had no problems with exchanging it for some fresh pita bread. Our food was very flavorful, fresh, & delicious. The reason I only gave them four stars was because I feel like something like hummus should not count as one of your sides. If you choose one of the meal options that comes with pita bread, you should at least be given a choice of hummus to go with it. Other than that, I would definitely go again because everyone was nice and the food was really good. This is a great option if you are looking for something quick and healthy. read more

I ordered the chicken kabob with a slice of pita bread, a side of garlic sauce and the chocolate baklava for dessert. The chicken kabob was a decent size, flavorful and paired well with the garlic sauce. The garlic sauce is an extra charge for .99 and totally worth it. The garlic sauce also pairs well with falafels. The chocolate baklava was crunchy, crisp and flavorful. All in all the meal was filling, light and service was quick. The prices are comparable with other Mediterranean food and appreciate the authenticity of the restaurant. I have been meaning to come to this restaurant for a while now, and finally made it in last night. It was not the usual setup I am accustomed to in Mediterranean restaurants. This appeared to be cafeteria style, which was confirmed by one of the employees. Everyone is very friendly and helpful with explaining the process to me. There is a menu, but you also walk along the line selecting what it is you want. I got the one meat, three entree platter. You start off grabbing two pita breads, selecting your sides of which the options include different kinds of hummus, salads, soups and hot sides. I opted it for the spinach hummus, Greek salad, couscous, gyro meat and chicken (from the spooled deal). I also had a check-in deal for a free baklava. They have three options: Walnut, pistachio and chocolate hazelnut. I opted for the Walnut. It is so much food but everything looks amazing and smells just as great. The dining section was pretty big, and everyone was practicing social distancing. The restaurant also has a lot of hand sanitizers everywhere. The dining section was pretty clean ( could they have done a better job? Absolutely, but it was nothing to dig them for... The tables were just a little bit sticky and food bit here and there on the ground). My baklava was absolutely delicious. It had the right balance of everything, and that flaky crunch that everyone looks forward to in their first bite. I had so much food that before I even dug in I got to go box, put just about half of my food in it and was still almost in a food coma from eating just half of it. I most definitely enjoyed my experience here. I took my to go box of food to my boyfriend for his dinner. He absolutely loved the food. We will be back together so I can try different things, and so he can get the full experience. I am happy to have found a good Mediterranean food restaurant close to me. read more

We've been ordering a lot from Andalous lately and you should too. This might be our favorite Mediterranean food in Arlington. They're excelling at all the essentials -- the meats, hummus, pita, baba ghanoush -- all excellent. Stellar gyros and beautiful build your own platters. There are a zillion delicious sides to consider... savory veggies like roasted cauliflower, Egyptian baby okra, pomegranate eggplant, coriander potatoes, stuffed mushrooms, garlic zucchini, and Parmesan spinach. Tons of beautiful salads: Greek, cranberry spinach, fruit, couscous, beet, tabbouleh, garbanzo kidney bean, pasta salad, and more. Vermicelli rice studded with slivered almonds and dried cranberries. Delicious plain rice. Dolmas and falafel and kibbe and spanakopita. Hot lentil soup. Pita bread slathered with cheese and herbs. Chewy baklava and crumbly Mahmoul shortbread cookies. Turkish coffee and freshly squeezed juices. Everything is fragrant and pretty and yummy. My favorite items right now are the 1.) chicken kabob: perfectly seasoned, charred, and moist. It doesn't need dipped in anything but the tzatziki and garlic sauce are both too good to resist. 2.) spicy hummus: Andalous' regular phenomenal hummus but enhanced with lots of cayenne pepper and paprika. It's quite spicy! It's fantastic. 3.) falafel: so often falafel is dried out or cold or gooey in the middle, but these falafel are cooked just right. 4.) garbanzo kidney bean salad: I love all the beans. My dad used to make "green bean surprise" all the time.. just lots of different cold, canned beans mixed together with tons of lemon pepper, maybe tuna. Anyway, Andalous' bean salad is a colorful, lemony, herby delight! read more

Decided on Mediterranean for dinner and this place had the best reviews of the nearby options. I called my order in and went to pick it up in 20mins as instructed. When I arrived to pick it up, it wasn't ready despite it looking like most items were already our and prepared buffet-style. And all of the food that was out looked really good. I ordered the gyro plate with two sides (babaganoush and tzatziki), spanakopita and baklava. Unfortunately when I got home I realized they had forgotten my baklava. I called and they asked me to come back for it and they'd throw in an additional side of my choosing. Great service and I appreciated their approach to remedy oversight. Now to the food: it was pretty hit or miss for me. Highlights were the spanakopita, babaganoush, and the hummus I selected as my complimentary side. Unfortunately I wasn't a fan of the gyro or pita bread which was the bulk of the meal. The baklava was just okay. My friends and I shut down this place after having an amazing meal! I hadn't been to Andalous in years, but I am so glad that I visited on Sunday night. The food was delicious! Everything that touched my lips left me begging for more and more. I literally had to get a to go box in order to stop myself from eating more and more! Omg! So good! I got their meat and three item plate that was encouraged by one of the staff members. He told me to go big or go home, so I went big! I got the chicken swharma as my meat and opted for half and half spinach hummus and Baba Ghanoush, couscous salad, and Greek Salad. Literally again everything was so good. And for $14.99 it lasts for three meals! Literally I had some for lunch the next day and then breakfast the next! The cherry on top of the cake was the amazing customer service as they literally let us shut down the restaurant with no complaints. Everyone was so nice and kind and made us smile. Food flavor and service was excellent! Went for lunch with Dad. I got the Veggie Sampler plate. Though the portions were large, food was filling but didn't feel stuffed afterwards. The bread came out hot and fresh from the oven and was light, not dry. Mekhai who prepared the plates and served in the line was very pleasant and effortlessly put effort into making each plate. I only took off one star for the slippery floors leading to the restrooms and I had to change the toilet tissue in the women's restroom. I will definitely return in the future if for nothing else but the spinach/cranberry/mushroom salad. read more
