We've been going to Fattoush for over FOUR YEARS, and at this point, it's basically part of our family's Friday night tradition. Our usual move is the 4-person combo for the family, or the Iraqi-style meal that comes with that MASSIVE Iraqi bread -- seriously, the bread deserves its own table. In my opinion, Fattoush is easily one of the best Mediterranean restaurants in all of North Texas. Recently, they added pizza to the menu, and we usually get the chicken + beef shawarma combo pizza. But today... fate intervened. They didn't have our usual meats available, so I asked the server, "Can you substitute the meat with lamb kebab?" And OH. MY. GOODNESS. LAMB. KEBAB. PIZZA. This may legitimately be the best thing I've eaten here in four years -- and that is saying A LOT. Add some fresh white onion and a little of their garlic sauce, and it is absolutely MAGNIFICENT. Technically, it's off-menu and there's an extra charge for the lamb, which I was more than happy to pay. Zero regrets. Fattoush, PLEASE make this a permanent menu item. Came here with some friends to catch up. It's located in an unassuming strip mall. However, once you walk in, you feel like you are transported to a beautiful oasis far from DFW. We were quickly seated and our orders were taken. For our party of three, we opted for the Combo for Two family meal as well as the Maza Large. The latter was brought out first. It include the falafel, tabooli, hummus, baba ghanoush, and some pita bread. My favorite out of these was definitely the falafel. After not too long of a wait, the meal for the combo came out. The meats, lamb and chicken, were without a doubt juicy and flavorful. Went well with the rice (which I do wish came more with the order). However, the highlight of the night for me was actually the chicken lemon soup. This is my first time ever having it. My first thought was that it would be too lemon-forward. That was certainly not the case. It was still savory and subtly fragrant with lemon instead. Despite all of the food being above average to very tasty as well as the service being superb, the one thing that detracted from the night for me was the breeze every single time the door opened. The weather was particularly cold and windy that day. We weren't the closest to the door but every time someone came in or out, there was a noticeable breeze. I feel that this could have been mitigated if there was a panel that could shield customers from the breeze on these certain days. Went there for my birthday (on a weeknight) because I was craving their hummus & garlic dip. Overall it was an off night for the experience & taste we are used to receiving from them for over 7 years. Well I hope it is isolated and not because they are growing too fast. I'd give 3.5 stars for this visit if I could. There was more staff than I've ever seen before however things seemed a little chaotic. One waitress rushed by the counter and knocked straws all over the floor - she saw she did it and didn't stop or come back to pick them up - one of the guys picked them up when he went by. There was a table that was uncleared nearly our entire meal - and the plates still had some food on them which I thought was unusual (I'm used to seeing clean plates or to-go bags). Our waitress was chaotic - hyper, rushed, and distracted. Not giving normal Fattoush vibes. The hummus was delicious as usual. Beautiful, & velvety. Their hummus has become my standard for what it should be. The grape leaves were extremely tart - tasted like a mouth full of vinegar. I haven't ordered them in a while and am hoping this is not a recipe change. Finished one & couldn't eat any more. The garlic dip was tamed way down. Made me sad because I like the stronger garlic. Again, hoping this is a one-off. An owner at another local establishment had told me that many tame it down because of the American palate. I can understand needing to find that balance of staying authentic vs please customers but I'm going to need the secret password to get the real stuff! Lol. (But seriously - if you know it, please let me know!) After trying their burger awhile back, my Mom hasn't been able to order anything but that as her entree. It is great. Steak fries are same as straight up American steak fries and good. She said next time she'll get the sauce on the side because it was heavy handed this time and overpowered the delicious meat. Bun wasn't holding up as it usually does. The chicken shish tawook was good as always however I was missing the bite from garlic dip. I love their rice! They have great yellow rice too. My husband and I shared and had some to bring home for one lunch. I got a piece of Iraqi bread because I've never ordered it before- it was really good! Served warm and bigger than large dinner plate. On our way out, while we were checking out the beautiful patio and new area to come, we had a 5 STAR moment when we saw Chef Bashar. I asked him if he'd consider doing a borek appetizer sometime as we had a delicious cigar (bc it was rolled) borek at a place in Dallas. He was very open to the idea and said they will be having 2 different menus when the new concept opens and adding more vegetable options. He also noticed my husband looking at the Palastine Cola in the drink case and told him to take one home and try. I thought this was extremely nice and generous. I look forward to continuing to support this great local business and believe this night was just an off night. Luckily in Arlington we have several Mediterranean restaurants to enjoy. I really think Fattoush is consistently one of the best!! Their food is always so pretty and fresh, whether you eat in the restaurant or get delivery/takeout. The restaurant is very cozy and cute inside, not big, but you could fit a good sized group in here (I'd call ahead). Order anything and you'll love it. Their hummus and baba ganoush are both beyond delicious every time, and their grilled meats (any of them) have so much flavor and never seem to by dry. The lentil soup is super velvety and well seasoned. The falafel is so herbaceous. Y'all know I can't eat pita but my husband and child are obsessed with it. If I could give 0 stars, I would. I came in for my birthday today with a party of 6 to Fattoush Mediterranean Kitchen in Arlington and it was the worst dining experience I've had. Our server never tended to our table. We had to get up and try to get someone's attention multiple times. He didn't understand our orders and didn't seem to care that we were there. Our orders all came out wrong, food was very late, and our coals were never changed. What made it worse is they scrambled us with other tables and completely invaded our space. People were put right on top of us, no privacy at all, even though we were a birthday party of 6 sitting together. I had to talk to the server again and again just to get basic things like side/sharing plates -- by the time we got them our food was halfway done. The good was delicious- we ordered the family style (chicken and lamb) - the girls likes the chicken and the guys go for the lamb and even had a little for the guys to take home. It had been too long since my last visit to fattoush. I don't work in the area as often, and I was unaware that they had started opening on Tuesday! Huzzah. I have never actually eaten IN the restaurant, I started doing takeout during COVID and typically pop in to grab lunch. They have really been able to enhance and expand their area. It really speaks to the quality of their food, and the service, that they just keep getting bigger and better. When I came this week, it appeared like they were hauling in what looked like a pizza oven? I don't know, but they are up to something that will no doubt be delicious. Speaking of delicious, the food is SO GOOD. My typical lunch is the shish tawook sandwich. Now, COVID prices are long gone and a sandwich will cost you $7.99, but it is still a good value. It delicious, perfectly cooked, a generous amount of chicken, the wonderful wrap that they crisped on the outside to seal in all the goodness. Golly. Best Mediterranean spot I've ever had. Their Iraqi style lamb kebab and lamb tikka and beef tikka are my top favorites as well as the chicken. But I stopped each chicken in general. To summarize it everything on there menu is 10/10. The people over there are really nice and welcoming. Beautiful family business with beautiful faces. I also like they expanded their restaurant and made a hookah lounge seating area with tv's I also go there whenever I want to watch a soccer or and sports game and eat some great food. It was so good, I wish I lived in fort worth so I can come here more. We ordered the garlic hummus, chicken shawarma sandwich and beef tekka sandwich. My boyfriend didn't like the garlic hummus because he thought it was too oily but I really liked it. We both agreed that the chicken shawarma was the best and the beef tekka was still good but not as good as the chicken shwarma. This restaurant is amazing! After you finish an amazing meal in the dining room you can check out the coffee shop that is under the same roof. I prefer the Turkish coffee and the desserts are out of the park. I was surprised when I didn't see Fattoush on the Yelp list of Mediterranean restaurants in my area. There are many amazing medi restaurants in the Arlington area. The population is diverse. You can find medi restaurants that represent specific middle eastern regions in the Arlington area.
