Was looking for something quick to eat, but also finding something that was new in the area, well not necessarily new, because we just moved in the neighborhood. So we stumbled across this place right next to Kroger's grocery store. Thought to give it a try We were not disappointed. In fact, the proprietors were really friendly, and the food came out quickly. We started off with bubba ganoush which was great. It comes with a couple of fresh soft pitas Then for the main course we had the shawarma chicken and I had the King gyro Both were amazing and it comes with a side of fries. But we really didn't need the fries. But if you like crosscut fries, this is a good place to visit because they were actually tasty and lightly salted The chicken shawarma was wrapped very well. Good spices and tasted really good The gyro was amazing. Plenty of tzatziki sauce, and had a nice balance between the cooling of the cucumber and the tang of the onions. Hello, Shawarma King, thank you for feeding me, you are delicious. Apparently they've been serving incredibly delicious and authentic Lebanese food to Arlington since 1984 but I hadn't eaten there until 2022...?! As my 4 year old niece would say (a million times a day), "What the heck?" I'm so happy to have finally eaten here and I envision many trips (and delivery orders) in the near and distant future. Our most recent meal included hummus with chicken shawarma, falafel, and the "king" gyro. You'll notice right away that all the food is colorful and vibrant. I come across lackluster tomato, onion, lettuce, and pickles all the time. Not here! The falafel were the perfect fluffy texture, cooked all the way through, and were super herbaceous. Jon thought the hummus was just slightly too tart and lemony, but that's why it might be my new favorite hummus... and Jon's gyro was beautiful, stuffed full with juicy meat, plus a side of piping hot fries. He said the pita was perfect. The interior is simple and cozy, clean and spacious. It smells delicious. Staff is friendly and fast. Your perfect family-owned, neighborhood Lebanese spot. This is probably the best gyro meat and halal beef I've ever had! I stopped being vegan today for this meal I was craving! (Ok I'm flexatarian!) but I got a shawarma bowl with beef and gyro meat and it was absolutely delicious! Somebodies grandma is in there really making delicacies and authentic Lebanese food! I saw her pouring oil myself so you know it's real! True family owned vibes and feel here! Highly recommend this place. The service is great and accommodating and the ambiance is true to the culture, every table had a different historic Lebanese landmark picture on it. Must try! Simply put, this is the best Shawarma and hummus I've ever had. Imad and his lovely wife should be household names for their culinary skills. At the end of our meal we got into a conversation about the pickles he uses which reminded me of the pickles I had in my first Shawarma over 25 years ago. a great shawarma place in Arlington! we decided to try this place in Arlington that serves Lebanese shawarma. It is run by an Lebanese couple. First off, the service was amazing. The owner (and chef!) and his wife are so sweet and they really care about their ingredients and what they're serving. The store is medium sized. It can fit multiple medium groups, but not a super huge group. They also offer happy hour from 2-4 kn their chicken shawarma sandwich on weekdays. They also do catering. We got the kibbeh, hummus, shish tawouk plate, beef shawarma, the special one sandwich, fries, beef burger, and baklava. We also tried their spicy sauce - the panther sauce. Okay, so straight up the shawarma is so delicious! You can taste the freshness in every bite and the beef meat is so juicy and tender! The special sandwich is a SK grill specialty in which he mixes two types of meat on a larger size of bread. Okay, for real y'all gotta go for the sandwiches/shawarmas. Their sauces, both the garlic and the panther sauce, were rich and perfect complement to the sandwiches and the fries. The kibbeh was also one of the better ones I've had. It wasn't crumbly, but it's crunchy and filled with meat inside. Hummus was fresh & baklava is a good option if you really want something sweet afterwards. Burger was okay. I was not happy with the visit to Shawarma King came at lunch they had a few people inside already. We order then a group of 7 or 8 came in. They only had 2 people working one taking orders the other making food orders. It took over 30 minutes to get our food. Too slow for a quick lunch. Maybe it was a bad day not sure but it did not make a good first impression. The food was fine nothing speciaI had a wrap I think it was the beef or chicken wrap not sure did not make a lasting impression on me. We also had hummus that was good but not enough to save the day. I was not a fan of the wrap maybe I just do not like Shawarma wraps. I would not go back they are too slow they can not handle it when they are a little busy. read more

What a Treat!! I stopped by my neighborhood grocery store and decided to fo next door and treat myself with falafel. I decided to not eat meat twice a week a while back, so this was perfect! I've been doing a little tour of Arlingtons Greek and Lebanese joints. Today I decided to try it Shawarma King, located in the Kroger shopping center. The area is run down, and if I had not seen them on Yelp, I wouldn't have noticed it. However, the interior was clean and the inside is far superior to the outside. I have been ordering the shish tawook sandwich everywhere I go, comparing everyone to the same dish. However, that might have been a poor choice. If something is the king of shawarma, you should probably order the shawarma. Maybe another time. The sandwich was good. It was freshly prepared and the smell hit me before anything else. The chicken was juicy and I am a fan of garlic sauce. The downside, for me, was the flavor of just the chicken. All together in the sandwich it blended well, but if you got a bite of chicken without the sauce, it was a little bitter and mostly just tasted of paprika. The woman behind the counter was friendly, but pulled her mask on and off, and the man in the kitchen wasn't wearing one at all. I've got to wear a mask all day at work too, they super suck. But you've gotta do it. I know a lot of independent places are struggling, and I am trying to support local. However, I feel much more inclined to go back to places that are keeping up on regulations. read more

Your run of the mill shwarma place. Nothing mind blowing. Kind of a small place but with nice staff. The shwarma were nice and full, but soggy because of all the sauce. The chicken shwarma was pretty good and I preferred it over the beef. For some reason the Gyro was disgusting which is weird because Gyro are never homemade so they are pretty consistent. I tasted sour like pepperoni. If I am in the area I would stop by for a chicken shwarma again, but it's not worth going out of the way for. Truly refreshing and amazing experience at this restaurant. The rice served here is unmatchable by many other restaurants as you can taste and smell the condensed flavor from it. The same thing is also true for the meats (i tried both chicken and beef) and their homemade sauce really made me feel like it was the first time i ever tried it. I'm from Iraq so I know what the flavors should be like, this place is spot on! I let my parents try it and they were extremely pleased. They said the owner really knows how to cook the authentic flavors of Lebanon. Extremely clean, friendly staff, and authentic flavors of Lebanon. The customer service was OK, but food quality was a let down. I spent sometime in the Middle East and ate a lot of Swarma wraps. I was let down tremendously by the serving size and also taste. The sausage meat served in the wrap tasted under cooked. Came across like small sized burritos with little to no fillings. I was fed like a peasant, ending up giving the food to my dog. Grilling cold old meat on a grill and calling it Swarma is disturbing. read more

When it comes to ranking the local Middle Eastern Mediterranean joints in the area (which there are a lot), Shawarma King is near the top of the list. The beef shawarma is fantastic. The interior is a nice homage to Lebanon, the owner's country of origin, and offers a pleasant ambience. I, for example, upon entering the building to pay for my takeout, decided to stay once I realized just how nice the place was. Not to mention it was totally spotless! Kept on thinking plate is the same as the sandwich combo of chicken shawarma. Their food is delicious and apple soda is good. I don't know the brand cause its in a dark green bottle. We ate a late lunch here today and it was delicious. The people working there were delightful and helpful, so friendly. I had a beef shawarma sandwich and my husband had a soujok sandwich (spicy sausage). They were both delicious, the spices were warm and interesting. We ordered a large order of french fries, which was more than enough for us both- they were hot and fresh, obviously cooked to order. Easily the best shawarma I've had in Arlington. I stopped by a while back to pick up a platter so I could enjoy the savory spiced chicken that I grew up on back in the Middle East. Thankfully, this place is spot on with their chicken shawarma, with the correct spit-roasted chicken paired with garlic sauce (toum), pickles, french fries and a hot pita bread. Delicious! I asked for extra garlic sauce because, OF COURSE! The fattoush salad was fresh and well portioned. I think that I'll be trying some of their other dishes the next time I'm in the area, although I will order by phone since the prices do not have the app markup that way. read more

Big disappointment. We are blessed with so many fine Mediterranean restaurants in Arlington, and there is a ton of competition on 303 within two minutes drive. I was given a solitary half hunk of pita. Cold stale pita. Disappointment. Fattoush salad was limp and the dressing seemed to be canola oil rather than olive. I'm not a fan of this, maybe it's the sumac. Got the king beef shawarma sandwich. It's pictured on a pita but was served in a hoagie type roll the pressed. The beef was stringy and had an odd aftertaste. The garlic sauce wasn't garlicy but had a soap taste. A msoujok sandwich was pressed as well like a panini though the picture looked like a gyro. I did not like the texture of the sausage at all. The baklava is evidently a manufactured product. It wasn't very good. The place seems to be clean. Done. Won't be back. read more
