We also thought it would take a while to get our food, but they were really fast! We ended up getting two pita sandwiches and a soda. Honestly, its rare nowadays to get a meal combo for under 10 bucks... the lunch specials from 10am-2pm allows you to get a pita sandwich, chips, drink and fruit for. I went on friday, and the special for that day was gyro. highly recommended! I've been going to Pak-a-Pocket for about a decade, maybe longer. It's one of those restaurants that you should just order anything that sounds good because you will not be disappointed. Ingredients are always great quality, flavorful, and the food comes out fast so it's a great option for something quick and healthy. Vegetarian options like the falafel pita, spinach pies (don't pass on the spinach pies) tabbouleh, vegetarian salad. Instead of fried, I think their falafel is baked, so it's nice and soft with a beautiful green color on the inside, not oily and rough. Really good quality for the price and the service is always friendly, and you feel good after eating there even if you intentionally try to stuff yourself into a food coma like I do. Nothing related to my rating but just some general info: Counter service, dining room has about 15-20 seats, and there's a table or two outside in front. Parking lot can be pretty busy with the different businesses that share it but there's usually a few spots open. They do call-ahead pickup orders. Their restroom is not really for the public because it's on the other side of the kitchen, but I think there was a time when I asked and they let me use it. Drinks are with crushed "Sonic" ice and they charge for drink refills but I'm pretty sure it's less price than an initial drink purchase. read more

Pak A Pocket has been around since 1986 for a good reason - the food is high quality- fresh and delicious. It brings back memories of the insurance company I worked at right out of high school in..... - - wait for it... 1986! It was one of the only places around to snag lunch and we weren't mad about it. Not much has changed since - except for an occasional price increase - but who can blame them. Liz is still around to greet customers with a smile and the Wednesday special is still the taco Pocket - my favorite. If you haven't dropped by I highly recommend that you check it. Parking can be challenging during the lunch hour but the worst case scenario would be parking at the Valero. Best is to visit before noon or after 1:30. read more

I cannot believe I did not know this place existed! Tucked back into a strip center along Bryant Irvine, this place is been around 30 years. A friend suggested we meet for lunch and I am so glad that she did! Although the menu is not very large, the food is delicious. You can stuff a pita with warm or cold ingredients. Be as healthy as you desire, but the temptation is there for a warm, full fat, gyro. Mmmmm The prices will throw you back into the 80s. I got a full meal for less than $10. And it was much more than I expected. Most of the pitas will come with a side of chips. Add a drink and you're still walking out the door for under $12. We didn't show up until after 1 PM during the week, the place was packed. It stayed full for another hour and a half. Evidently those in the area love this place. The parking lot has adequate space for even their busiest times. The furnishings are not fancy, but adequate for a fast casual restaurant. The staff is very friendly and more than willing to offer suggestions on what to order. If you need a quick and delicious lunch, you have to try this place. One of my wife's friends recommended this little hole-in-the-wall - and I'm glad she did! The menu is extensive, but I finally ordered a gyro pita (the owner said I pronounced "gyro" perfectly LOL) and my wife the chicken shawarma pita. While we waited for our food, the restaurant filled up, but the owner took the orders quickly. Both of our sandwiches came with a small bowl of hearty chicken soup. And the ham and cheese pocket are top notch. The portion size is prefect you will not be hungry after you eat. You also get chips, fruit, and a coke. They do have a variety of other Lebanese style foods. The restaurant is in a small strip mall. Very clean and excellent service. Great for a fast lunch. The place can get busy at peak hours. Usually my go-to is the Gyro Pita, but since I've never tried their Kafta I went with that this time around. The Kafta served was pretty unique as it was not in a kabob form, but really in a burger patty form so it fits better in the pita. The spices and seasonings present made for a delicious Kafta pita and I rank it right up there with their Gyro pita. The Girlfriend ordered the gyro pita and she enjoyed it as well. Went there today after reading the good yelp reviews. Got the gyro pita with bagged chips and a pickle with small drink. I'm never a fan of places that nickel and dime you and having to pay $0.25 for a refill is so bizarre in today's day and age. The meal was under $10 with a small drink. They scoop the ice from behind the counter. The good sonic ice. The tables were disheveled around 2:45 pm. The gyro pita was steaming hot. The meat needed more flavor. The sauce was too thin and liquidy, not the usual texture. Overall an ok lunch. Not something I'd come back running to. Other good places around the neighborhood. read more

Strong enough Pita to handle the meat and all the fixings; including the Tahini sauce. The only, very slight, shortcoming is the lack of selection "within" the selections. Instead of do you want "Tahini sauce" how about would you rather our transitional Tahini, spicy Tahini, or naked with no sauce.
