    Beef Shish Kebab

Came in for Lunch on Friday, grabbed the Hummus, Calfs Liver, & Beef Shish Kebab. The Hummus was delightful and flavorful, the combination of the Calfs Liver, with the tomato, cucumber, and lemon as a stack is a Flavor Bible staple, the Kebab lacked in flavor and delight from the other two but had high marks in tenderness and combination with the salad & rice. I included a picture of the kebab. Enjoy and looking forward to future excursions at this lovely spot.

I did not try the food but the server was WONDERFUL! The Turkish mint tea tastes exactly like my Istanbul experience and it was a very authentic place for Turkish food. The ambiance is inviting, warm, cozy with a touch of Turkish decor. I want to come back and try the food one day!

Came by for a late lunch and was so happy I did. First of all, the little cottage is so adorable and decorated beautifully. My server was extremely helpful in his recommendations. I had the trio cold sampler and the pink sultan (beet dip) was my absolute favorite. Holy cow. So good. Then I had the lamb as my main. Can't wait to bring my parents here or come back on my own.

I've been dying to try this adorable restaurant for a while now. We decided to try it this weekend since they had the Valentine's Day couple menu. We loved ever since thing we were served and I'd definitely come back here any day! You can tell the love and care put into the food. I did notice that everything I ate had a different little flair from any other place that I had the same item. Their baklava has to be the best kind I've ever had. Flying carpet definitely sets themselves apart in every way!

The place is super cozy and laid back. The baba ghanoush was one of the best I've had so definitely recommend it as an appetizer, ordered the branzino as my main course and it was also very good. They sell liquor and beer now, so they are no longer BYOB. 4 stars due to service, while all servers were very nice they were very slow on a Friday night and also tried to charge us for bread we didn't even get.

I love the Flying Carpet. Turkish is a great type of Mediterranean cuisine. The food is absolutely delicious, the pink dip is interesting, with the use of garlic and beets. The restaurant is in an old house, so it's got a lovely charm, they also have a cool patio. Overall, great, I will be back.

    Oven baked lamb shank

Hummus was amazing if you're looking for authentic hummus. The house made bread was great with the hummus. I had the lamb shank it was really good and tender fall off the bone, the mashed up eggplant way better than mashed potatoes. Wife had the shrimp was very good. Service was great very nice and explained the dishes.

We only had an appetizer and we were very excited about everything we had. The Hummus, Dolmas and tabbouleh was 5 star. Absolutely no questions this is FRESH! We would have stayed for dinner but the tables are extremely close and there was a group of 3 next to use with one guy who was so loud and vulgar the entire time. We will absolutely be back! We could see the food the guest had and it smelled and looked amazing!

I live near by and have been meaning to check it out for a while--I'm glad I finally did! The atmosphere is cozy, and the service was friendly and attentive, which made for a pleasant experience overall. They start you off with complimentary bread, which is a nice touch. However, the bread is denser than the fluffy pita or naan I'm used to, and it doesn't come with a complimentary dipping sauce. I'd recommend adding a small side of olive oil or hummus to enhance the experience, as the bread on its own felt like it needed a bit more seasoning or salt. For the main course, I shared the Dolma Garden Platter ($15.95), which included dolma (2), hummus, baba ghanoush, and falafel (2). While I didn't try the dolma myself (not my preference), my friend really enjoyed them. The hummus and baba ghanoush were fresh and flavorful, and the falafel was nicely seasoned and not dry--a highlight for me! Still feeling a bit hungry, we ordered the feta cigars (4 for $10.95). They were delicious, but I found them to be on the thinner side, leaving me wanting a bit more substance. One suggestion I'd love to make is expanding the menu to include a halloumi dish or a falafel sandwich option--both would be fantastic additions! Overall, it's a charming spot with tasty food and good service. I'll definitely be back and look forward to trying more items in the future.

The Flying Carpet is back...again! Finally re-opening after a kitchen fire, the Flying Carpet is back, with a new chef and menu. One of my favorite haunts in Fort Worth when it opened over a decade ago, we were happy to find that it has persevered once again, 3 chefs/menus later. For fans of the Flying Carpet - the menu is different and a bit more expanded and that should warrant a visit regardless. The new menu still has some old favorites, such as the Adana Kabob, which I ordered and which was still awesome. The Wife's Chicken Gyro platter was also delicious. Coupled with fresh baked bread and that relaxing, authentic atmosphere, we are happy to add the Flying Carpet into the rotation again, as should you.

I love Mediterranean food, this place didn't disappoint. We tried a few different dishes and all were tasty. Server was friendly, but service was a little slow at the end, but looks like they were just shorted staffed. I'm sure I'll be back, there so many more tasty dishes to try.

My daughter and I were attending a craft workshop in the area and I found the Flying Carpet on Yelp. We were both able to park in the small parking lot adjacent to the restaurant. There is also some street parking. We were greeted and seated immediately however, the rest of the service was a bit slow. The food was plentiful and delicious. I definitely will be back to try some different dishes. They evidently recently got their liquor license as there was a sign at the front that says they are no longer BYOB.

The ambiance here is lovely and the service is superb. My husband and I both had the lamb gyro lunch. I also had pistachio baklava. Everything was on point. I recommend it!

After my first visit, I completely understand why. When I walked in, I was immediately welcomed and kindly guided through parts of the menu I wasn't familiar with. Mediterranean food usually isn't my go-to, so I appreciated how patient and helpful they were without making me feel out of place. I ordered the beef shawarma plate with tzatziki and hot sauce on the side, then sat at the barstools near the food prep area while I waited. Watching the owner prepare the food was honestly part of the experience. At one point, he came over and insisted I try their tea. I initially declined, but he smiled and said he'd only pour me half a cup. That small act of kindness and hospitality genuinely sold me on this place. The restaurant was clean, quiet, welcoming, and smelled incredible. And yes, absolutely try the tea. It was a custom Earl Grey blend made specifically for them, and it was fantastic. When I got home, I was surprised by how generous the portions were for the price. Everything tasted fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully balanced. The spices were used perfectly, the produce tasted fresh, and the food even held its temperature well by the time I got home. I've only been here once so far, but I already plan on becoming a regular, probably at least once a week. Y'all are doing an amazing job, and I'm really glad I found this place.

We were greeted and seated right away. Service throughout was warm and attentive, our server checked on us a few times to make sure everything was good. They started us with warm, crispy bread and a yogurt-based dip that was quite flavorful. I ordered the lamb shish kebab platter (well done), and we also tried the chicken shish kebab platter. Both came with buttery rice, a fresh salad drizzled with olive oil, and yogurt sauce. The chicken was tender and properly seasoned, but the lamb was the highlight. Lamb can easily turn dry or overly gamey if not handled right, but this was juicy, tender, and packed with flavor even when cooked well done, exactly how a good shish kebab should be. I skipped dessert this time, though they offer a few options, and I noticed what appeared to be a buffet setup, which I'm curious to try next. Overall, a solid, well executed Mediterranean meal. I'll definitely be back to explore more of the menu.
