The server was newly from Brazil so she was a little slow, but she was very pleasant. She's never seen an ice storm. Got something to look forward to this winter. The food was excellent. Rice was cooked to perfection, and the kebabs were to die for. We had the family platter, which came with all seven types of kebab meat. They were all excellent. The interesting part was that we all had a favorite, and none of our favorites were the same. Dessert was excellent as well. We had pistachio baklava with Turkish coffee. The coffee was a new experience for all of us. It's really strong, like espresso, but not the same as espresso. Really liked the ambiance as well. The nice silverware and glassware on the tables was set off against rustic bare wood walls. Felt a cut above the average. Only complaint was they didn't brew their own tea. I ordered iced tea, and they brought a bottle of iced tea to the table. Oh well. Nobody's perfect. But we will be back. The food here rocks. read more

We loved our experience here! My husband ordered Moussaka and I had the chicken Adana kabob. The kabob was delicious and came with rice and a side salad. The meat was tender and incredibly flavorful. They also started the table with some bread which was welcomed and fresh! The vibe here is truly unique and really makes you feel like you've stepped into the Mediterranean. My lamb was ordered medium but came well. My dinner companion ordered her beef tenderloin medium rare but came some medium some well. I should not have had to ask for my water to be refilled as it was near empty. The bottle of Perrier was asked for but instead received Pellagino. Though Pellagrino would have been the choice with her heavier meal she asked and should have received what she wanted. We were seated right next to a floor vent that blew cold air directly onto me. This place does Turkish food justice and has so much cultural charm with the decor and warm, cozy atmosphere. We started off with the complimentary bread, which was fresh and warm. I do wish that it came with an oil dip, but it was nice to have with my meal. For my entree, I ordered the lamb gyro and absolutely loved it. I sometimes find an issue that dishes at Turkish/Middle Eastern restaurants can be salty, but it wasn't here! The salad it came with did have a bit too much pepper for my liking, but the tomatoes were incredibly juicy. Overall, the meal was delicious and light. The staff was kind and attentive, but we were also the only customers there on a late Tuesday afternoon. I live near by and have been meaning to check it out for a while--I'm glad I finally did! The atmosphere is cozy, and the service was friendly and attentive, which made for a pleasant experience overall. They start you off with complimentary bread, which is a nice touch. However, the bread is denser than the fluffy pita or naan I'm used to, and it doesn't come with a complimentary dipping sauce. I'd recommend adding a small side of olive oil or hummus to enhance the experience, as the bread on its own felt like it needed a bit more seasoning or salt. For the main course, I shared the Dolma Garden Platter ($15.95), which included dolma (2), hummus, baba ghanoush, and falafel (2). While I didn't try the dolma myself (not my preference), my friend really enjoyed them. The hummus and baba ghanoush were fresh and flavorful, and the falafel was nicely seasoned and not dry--a highlight for me! Still feeling a bit hungry, we ordered the feta cigars (4 for $10.95). They were delicious, but I found them to be on the thinner side, leaving me wanting a bit more substance. One suggestion I'd love to make is expanding the menu to include a halloumi dish or a falafel sandwich option--both would be fantastic additions! The Flying Carpet is back...again! Finally re-opening after a kitchen fire, the Flying Carpet is back, with a new chef and menu. One of my favorite haunts in Fort Worth when it opened over a decade ago, we were happy to find that it has persevered once again, 3 chefs/menus later. For fans of the Flying Carpet - the menu is different and a bit more expanded and that should warrant a visit regardless. The new menu still has some old favorites, such as the Adana Kabob, which I ordered and which was still awesome. The Wife's Chicken Gyro platter was also delicious. Coupled with fresh baked bread and that relaxing, authentic atmosphere, we are happy to add the Flying Carpet into the rotation again, as should you. read more

Came in for Lunch on Friday, grabbed the Hummus, Calfs Liver, & Beef Shish Kebab. The Hummus was delightful and flavorful, the combination of the Calfs Liver, with the tomato, cucumber, and lemon as a stack is a Flavor Bible staple, the Kebab lacked in flavor and delight from the other two but had high marks in tenderness and combination with the salad & rice. My daughter and I were attending a craft workshop in the area and I found the Flying Carpet on Yelp. We were both able to park in the small parking lot adjacent to the restaurant. There is also some street parking. We were greeted and seated immediately however, the rest of the service was a bit slow. The food was plentiful and delicious. The restaurant is fairly quiet, which made each table feel the need to whisper to each other. Our server was nice, but not attentive. We had to wait long periods of time to get more water and I heard the table beside me complain about not getting all of their dishes. The food was okay, with generous portions. We shared the feta cigars and I had the falafel platter as my main dish. The falafel was ok, but I wouldn't go out of my way to order it again. My sister ordered one of the kebabs, which she really enjoyed. We both really liked the feta cigars and would recommend it. If I were to return, I'd only order the food to-go. I wasn't to try all of the things, so a much as I loved the Stuffed Cabbage on my first visit, I was eager to try the gyro plate. This lamb gyro meat was hands down the best I've had. Not a happy camper. I saw this spot on TikTok and gave it a try. There is ample parking and lighting next to the restaurant. We arrived at 5:45 on a Monday and there was 1 large group there. They were having ac issues but provided a fan. Poor waiter forgot our menus for what felt like forever. When I asked a recommendation from the menu, the server was very confused.
