    Gyro plate

Such a super sweet server! I got the gyro plate and it was good! Fresh meat, pita, tzatziki, salad and rice. I love that it's BYOB so we always have nice wine! I think the place used to be a Braum's or something but the covered everything in wood so it's kinda cozy for a fairly big building.

A 3 is the perfect score for this restaurant. It was definitely not the best Mediterranean food I've ever had, but it was edible. I always get the fattoush salad whenever I have Mediterranean food. This one was a little minimalistic. It did have the fried pita and some lettuce, but none of it seem prepared with care. For instance, the red onion was in big fat chunks. The use of a mandolin might be helpful. I hate to be so picky but when I make my salad at home, I use a mandolin. I mean, who wants to eat a quarter of an onion at lunch??? I also had the lamb gyro, which I would definitely never order again. Like I said it was edible, but the meat wasn't what I expected. It was highly processed. If I were to go again, which I might, I would get the chicken Shawarma because they were roasting that fresh. The restaurant itself was clean. The server was very nice, but it looks more like a barbecue joint.

Updating my review since I haven't been here in a while. Picked up a to-go order recently and it was as good as I remembered!! The service was still outstanding 10/10

This is a tiny family run Mediterranean spot in River Oaks. They're phenomenal! Everything is great, fresh, flavorful. The service is great, very friendly. Overall, excellent. 5/5 stars for sure.

3 kabob combo with chicken, kafta and beef

Went in to try a new place on the road. We ended up getting a 3 kabob combo plate with the chicken, beef and beef kafta with hummus and rice. Added a small side of baba ganoush. Everything was delicious! The baba ganoush was a perfect combination of a smoky flavor and not very sweet which I prefer. The pita bread was soft and a great texture. The chicken kabob had a great char and was moist. The beef kabob was seasoned perfectly and was tender. The beef kafta was also well seasoned and tender. Get the garlic sauce. Customer service was fantastic and gave great recommendations. Once the heat dies down they have a great patio area with lights.

NISH! has got THIS, it sure is DELISH! What'd we order? (Both, 5 STARS) Chicken & Beef Shawarma Plate w/ Fattoush Salad, Baba Ganoush, Fries and Garlic Sauce Lamb Gyro Plate w/ Lentil Soup, Hummus, Rice and Tzatziki Both dishes were full of flavor, spice and deliciousness. The service will bring either your soup or salad out first. My husband enjoyed his Lentil Soup. I took a spoonful and felt my soul warm up! I ordered the Fattoush Salad which came with the tastiest homemade salad dressing. I'll get that salad every time or ask for that salad dressing on any salad I try next. Next, you'll get your full plate with everything else! We were both impressed by the hummus and baba ganoush. They were creamy and rich in flavor, especially baba. I actually got a large order of it to go for a snack the following day. The Chicken and Beef Shawarma packed punches, but the Beef Shawarma won the duel. I'm looking forward of trying a Beef Shawarma Wrap one day for lunch. :D Most impressive part of the experience was the service, though. They were so kind, polite and attentive even with a full house of customers. Hats off to them! We can't wait to go back!

Service here was great and such a relaxing experience. The food is amazing! The baba ganoush was so tasty! All food was so delicious and flavorful! I truly love Mediterranean food and this place is a must try!

There are not many Mediterranean places in Fort Worth so Nish! can certainly capitalize on a lack of competition. We had stopped by after reading the reviews, but unfortunately left hoping for better. The biggest pro - the service. We had come during the lunch rush and there was one server serving the 10ish tables. She handled everyone's orders and requests with grace and went non stop. Give her a raise! The food - is good, but the biggest question mark was the beef. We had gotten the arayes appetizer, which barely had any ground beef, and the beef kabobs did not seem fresh. My partner had gotten the beef shawarma and same thing, good flavor, but can tell it wasn't fresh. The chicken was fine. The rice also was a bit bland. If you're craving some Mediterranean food in the Fort Worth area, Nish! Is an option, but temper expectations ahead of time.

Nish is a true hidden gem up in the River Oaks neighborhood with the authentic Middle Eastern flavors that we love. The cauliflower was cooked exactly like I love it (on the crispy side), and their Kafta kababs were juicy and delicious. Their portions are huge, and their prices are more than reasonable - especially considering all that comes with the main Entrée - choice of rice or fries, hummus or babaganoush, and Soup or salad. They seem to have lots of room with comfortable seating and what looks to be a buffet setup. They even have what looks like great ice cream flavors and a case of paletas with lots of wonderful choices. And I cannot say enough about their service. Everyone was attentive, friendly, helpful, and right there when we needed something. There's no doubt we'll be back.

Walked in for lunch and was greeted however as most places these days, they were short staffed. There was one server and I saw 2 guys cooking. There were about 10 people dining in. I placed my order to go and discovered once I received my receipt that there was an up charge for grilled veggies but was only told about an up charge for tabouli. I must say that considering it's lunch, this place is pretty pricey ($22.72) and there were no lunch specials mentioned or reflected on the menu. Perhaps that's a thing of the past. A customer came behind me but quickly left after seeing how many employees were present. I should've followed his lead but have had this place bookmarked since the pandemic and just happened to be in the area. Received my order within 15 minutes and veggies were cold and the beef kefta was just warmed. For this price and results, I won't return.

The hummus is good as well as the babaganoosh. The pita was cold. Straight out of the package type. Dolma's are good, but served warmed. A bit mushy. We enjoyed the beef and chicken kabobs. The nish salad was delicious. Fresh. The rice pudding wasn't edible! Enjoyed the baklava. We had to ask for to go containers and felt like we were "begging". $88.00 meal for two and we had to carrier out the styrofoam containers without a bag which ended up getting olive oil all over my shirt. Ugggggh. The rest had no customers upon entry, and one to go order followed by another couple while we were there. Normally a full parking lot on the weekends.

The oldest sub shop in Texas is not a title you stumble into, and one visit makes it clear they've earned it. First, the parking situation, because someone has to say it. The spots up front are scarce and competitive. Don't give up, there's additional parking in the back with its own entrance. File that away before you go, or you'll spend ten minutes circling a strip that has not gotten larger since the 1970s. And speaking of the 1970s, the interior leans fully into its vintage identity. Small, dark, and unapologetically retro, it feels like a sub shop that missed the memo on modern restaurant design and decided it didn't care. Honestly, respect. Now, the subs. Galligaskin's cuts their own meat and cheese in house and bakes their rolls fresh daily, which is the kind of thing that sounds like marketing until you take a bite and realize it actually matters. The roast beef and cheese, loaded with toppings, is a proper sandwich. The house-made Galli Oil and pickled pepper finish that goes on every sub is the secret weapon - not spicy, just deeply flavorful, the thing that makes each bite a little better than the last. We also tried the burger, which came as a genuine surprise. A sub shop doing a burger well feels like it shouldn't work, but here we are, soft bun, flavorful patty, no notes. For sides, the Tater Tots are the undisputed champion of the table. Crispy shell, fluffy interior, the ideal tot. The fried okra was a strong runner-up, well breaded and served with ranch. The French fries, however, were a swing and a miss. They looked the part, golden, fresh cut, promising - and then arrived soggy. A limp fry is a tragedy in any zip code, and these were no exception. No one wants a sad potato. Order the tots. Skip the fries. You've been warned. Galligaskin's in the real deal, a Fort Worth original that's still earning its reputation one fresh-baked roll at a time. One last night: they're closed on Sundays, so plan accordingly. A cruel fact to discover in the parking lot.

This particular spot is a deli sandwich place; they do have some standout choices, but I was craving tuna, so I ordered their Pacific Blue (Tuna Melt). Loved that they toasted the buns; it was good but didn't wow me. They skimped on the cheese and didn't add the jalapeños I requested. Service was incredibly slow, but there was a huge rush-hour crowd, so I'll overlook it. All in all, the theme is cool. Loved that they had vendors and music available the day we went; it gave us an opportunity to have something to do while we waited. I did spot board games, but naturally didn't think we'd need them. The goo ball was overly buttery and definitely had peanut butter. It was good for the first couple of bites but I quickly tossed it afterward once it became too much. If a deli is your thing, give it a try. I'm sure on any other given day they'd be better at delivering a sandwich with everything.

Fantastic choice! The menu is very "urban hipster" vibes. Plenty of burgers, lots of fun appetizers, charcuterie, one of my friends has some dietary restrictions and they were easily able to accommodate her needs which made us all very happy. This spot has a great bar in the front, and a smaller bar in the rear of the place. Outdoor seating as well as covered seating. Plenty of shade as well which will serve their patrons nicely in the coming Texas summer months. This is also a dog friendly dining spot, plenty of people were there with some amazing canine companions (always ask before you pet a strangers pup, it's just polite and courteous. Almost no one says No!). Assuming you don't have a dog allergy, this will hopefully be a feature. There is a relatively new apartment complex across the street and I get the feeling a lot of the people stopping in were regulars who bring in their dogs during walkies and grab a bite before heading back home, but that is just pure conjecture on my part. Either way, it was a fun inviting atmosphere. The music was nice, not too loud for my old man ears to enjoy but still present enough to be part of the evening without being intrusive. Staff was very nice, helpful, friendly, etc. Everything one would expect from a fine Texas eatery. Lots of spicier options on the menu if you're into that, but by no means anything overpowering. My guess is the owner has stock in some jalapeno growers farm somewhere and the food is all the better for it! If you're in the area already or if you're thinking of branching out for a nice new burger spot, this place is great and I will be returning. I live nearby so it'll likely become part of the regular rotation for us in the coming months. We are spoiled for choice in this area when it comes to good burgers being close to Grumps, close to Kincaid's, and close to Tommy's up on Camp Bowie. But this place competes on good burgers and if you're looking for a fun hangout atmosphere, you'd be hard pressed to find better. Easily recommended! Give them a try, I don't think you'll regret it! I called a girlfriend and told her I'd found a new spot: wine, charcuterie boards, and live music. Sounded like a perfect evening. When we arrived, a young employee did her best to find the hostess and get us seated. After a few minutes, she honestly seemed more flustered than we were, she apologized and offered to seat us herself. We got settled, I ordered a margarita, and then I noticed a large dog roaming around. No leash, no owner in sight. (Later found out the owner owns the bar, the regulars are very familiar with the dog) I looked down at the menu, then looked back up, and the dog was literally face-to-face with me. We got up to leave immediately. A dog-friendly patio? Sure. That's completely fine. But allowing a dog to freely roam throughout both the outdoor patio and the covered upstairs area is baffling to me. (My last visit a dog was on the table, I assumed the young staff just didn't know how to approach the situation, but tonight shows this is how Hideaway operates day in and day out) When I explained my concern to the waitress, she said she understood and asked me to close out my tab for the one margarita I had just ordered and hadn't touched. No ma'am. I'd been there less than ten minutes, and for me, this crossed a line. Clearly, some guests enjoyed it. I saw people petting the dog and calling it over. Different preferences, and that's their choice. But mine is different. I won't be back, and if I recommend this place to anyone, it will come with a warning: dogs aren't just allowed here- they appear to have free rein of the space, whether that's on tabletops, near your food, or directly in your personal space, whether you want that interaction or not.
