My mom was in town for the weekend. She said she was in the mood for sandwiches. Reasonably, I brought her to this 420 themed restaurant. If anything, that actually added to the experience for her. She liked the vibe and inside decor, not because she partakes in cannabis use, but she's not familiar with the 420 culture in the first place so it all kind of stood out. I agree with that as well. The design plays into the theme well! This of course extends to the menu as well. All sandwiches are named after different strains of weed. I got the Kali Mist - a spicy turkey club - on white and my mom got the KGB - a roast beef and horseradish sandich - on garlic herb. As opposed to small, medium, large, the sizes are nug, pinner, and blunt. We both got nug sizes since we weren't too hungry at the time but still wanted to try. Long story short, the sandwiches were absolutely delicious. They're all toasted so the bread provides a great, warm base. The avocado on the Kali Mist stood out for me, providing a nice rich flavor and texture amongst everything else. I tried a bit of the KGB as well and the horseradish gives a nice contrast to the flavorful roast beef. Overall, I would definitely come back again to try out more of the sandwiches. read more

My first try, and we went on 4/20 to catch a munchies discount! We were happy with the cost, that's for sure. This particular spot is a deli sandwich place; they do have some standout choices, but I was craving tuna, so I ordered their Pacific Blue (Tuna Melt). Loved that they toasted the buns; it was good but didn't wow me. They skimped on the cheese and didn't add the jalapeños I requested. Service was incredibly slow, but there was a huge rush-hour crowd, so I'll overlook it. All in all, the theme is cool. Loved that they had vendors and music available the day we went; it gave us an opportunity to have something to do while we waited. I did spot board games, but naturally didn't think we'd need them. The goo ball was overly buttery and definitely had peanut butter. It was good for the first couple of bites but I quickly tossed it afterward once it became too much. This place was not what I expected! I could have read through the reviews better and I may not have been surprised. I am a sandwich lover so I had to try this place. The menu was quite different and (again) I should have studied up on yelp to see the offerings before going. It took me a minute to read through the menu to decide what I wanted. The closest I saw to an Italian (didn't see La Canna) was the 5-0 so I cut the bacon and it was pretty good. My husband got the G-13 and really liked it. What surprised us was finding a full bar inside the sub shop! (A full bar with Blanton's!) And they're open until midnight! The manager came over and talked to us for a while. She was super nice and told us all about the chain and that location. They have parking out back and you have to scan a QR code the when you go inside to order you can validate for free parking with their QR code inside. I already need to come back thinking about this sandwich again. With the food being tasty, the service was also fantastic. Our server was so sweet and helpful, she had a very sweet demeanor that the other staff had which created a great environment! I got the island sweet skunk on white bread and it was amazing. It's like a charcuterie board type of sandwich with the jelly, meat, and the jalapeño cream cheese but if you are a fan of that, you will love this sandwich. I always get the Sensi Kush BLT & it's my favorite. The hot honey on it is what really makes it. This is a really good sandwich place, BUT it's very expensive. Cheba Hut is located at Rosedale and 8th Ave. It's an interesting place. They have a full bar and are very very 420 friendly. This was my first visit, and I really enjoyed it. The sandwiches all sound interesting and I look forward to trying more. You do have to pay to park, but Cheba Hut validates, so that's no big deal. Everyone I encountered was really nice. First I tried the white widow which has chicken bacon and ranch among other fixings. It was really good. The second time, I got the kind which had chicken (although I believe it was supposed to be turkey) bacon, mushrooms, ranch & fixings. That was one stuffed sandwich!! Unfortunately my bread was soggy the second time which made it hard to eat - had to convert to fork & knife. I'm not sure the difference this second time because both of my sandwiches had sauce on them. Either way, they are good sandwiches and good for a quick lunch if you order online. The place appears clean and has some options for outside seating. Parking in that area can be a challenge and a couple designated spots for ToGo Pickup Parking for the restaurants would be nice. read more

Let's start here: it's one of the best little sandwich places around. That's why I typically pay over $20 for a sandwich with a water, no chips or extras, and a tip. Just a sandwich and a tip, at least twice a month. On a second note, I rarely dine in here, and after working 16 hours, I needed a sandwich at 10:30, and saw they were open for another hour and a half. Everyone was standing in the kitchen seeing I was there, and that's totally okay, everyone is busy, but then it became obvious that I was an inconvenience as they were trying to call it a night I guess. So, I then got shuffled to the back bar for my order where I told the lady working that the kitchen told me to order with her, followed by an eye roll, slapping the receipt down on the bar, and just being really, really rude. It's disappointing because I worked in the F&B industry serving for 10 years, and I am very mindful to make sure I have plenty of time before close, and won't even go into any place right before close. You'd have thought I walked in at 11:59, which even then, would be a very extra reaction. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt that it was a rough night in some way, but that was some of the the rudest customer service I've encountered. I've never regretted tipping, and it was only $3.
