As a professional and a leisure traveler, I travel frequently. As you travel around the world, you have the opportunity to patronize a number of different businesses and meet a number of different people. When traveling to other cities, my goal is to find all the great local spots loved by the locals. Don't be fooled by the appearance of this establishment. The flames and bikes lined up can make one wonder if they are welcomed, especially if one is not a biker. My experience with Ain't Nick's Tavern began the moment I walked in. The staff and locals were friendly and welcoming to me. As well as the ladies behind the bar, the rest of the staff was excellent. With many seating options for small to large groups, the space is spacious and cosy. The wings are simply amazing, let's talk about them. Wings were fresh, well-cooked, not overly seasoned, and did not appear to be greasy in any way. Often times, wings are hit or miss in many restaurants. It was a mixed crowd of friendly individuals that gave the impression that they were locals. Michael, the host of Katoke, kept everything running smoothly and the mics and sound system were excellent. I recommend that you pay this place a visit if you are ever in the area. You should put Aint Nicks Tavern on your list of must-see places when you are in Phoenix. You can order some wings, drinks, and other sides and enjoy a song or sing a song. Take advantage of this neighborhood gem and enjoy it.

I love this bar . I really like that they host trivia on Wednesdays. And then karaoke after. The food is really good and there's also a wing special. I can't wait for music Bingo to start on Thursdays April 4th.

Fun karaoke bar! The DJ Don is friendly and efficient with getting everyone's songs in. This bar is way nicer on the inside than on the outside. And they have a nice patio area for smokers. Drinks are reasonable and nice size parking lot in back with food truck too! Definitely a hit!!

This is a scammer bar - beware !! I ordered my drink of choice. I asked for a pint glass. Not a double. I was charged an additional $2.50 per drink to have a tall glass. Ban this bar !! This has not been the first time I have been treated poorly. Management cares not for the people but the bottom line.

This bar is like Cheers, the TV show. All walks of life come to this bar to enjoy drinks made by the awesome bartenders and the amazing food Ain't Nick's has to offer! There's a huge outdoor patio with giant swamp coolers to keep everyone comfortable in the Arizona heat. They also have karaoke SEVEN nights a week! So if you're looking for a nice place to hang out with friends, whether it's throwing darts on the electric or steel tip boards, to shooting pool, and live music on Sundays, give Ain't Nick's a try and experience the fun!

Cheese quesadilla and chicken philly sandwich

This place is just up the road from our house and we pass by it daily so we decided to give it a go tonight for takeout. The menu seemed simply enough for a dive bar, so we settled on a cheese quesadilla to start, a Buffalo chicken salad for myself and my husband got their chicken philly sandwich. The quesadilla was very plain and quite small, but it's hard to mess it up so it was fine. My Buffalo chicken salad was tinyyyyy. Two tenders diced up onto maybe 3/4 a cup of lettuce. I thought it resembled a side salad much more than an entree salad. I elected blue cheese dressing and I have never seen a more runny dressing in my life. It was like water, with no actual blue cheese in it. So bad. My husbands chicken philly wasn't great either. He said the bread was really good and soft but his chicken was diced chicken which was rubbery and the sad excuse for fries he received was horrendous. They had obviously been reheated multiple times and were overcooked to the point where they shriveled up and dried. I honestly can't believe someone allowed those fries to be served. All in all, we were super disappointed. We might try them again and get wings and a burger because that's usually a dive bar's specialty.

The place wasn't busy, maybe ten patrons. Bartender served us immediately. One Dos Equis bottle, one Ultra pint. There was a sign in the bar that stated happy hour prices as $2.75 domestic pints, $5.00 domestic small pitchers. Again, service was good. Bartender always asking if we were good. This is why my visit was only 3 stars. We close our tab and the Ultra rang up $3.50. I know it's only $.75 but...so my husband asks. We are told that Michelob Ultra isn't a domestic beer. Huh? Since when? Yep, we were told they price it like an import. I'm sorry if you poll ten people if they consider Michelob Ultra a domestic beer, all of those ten people are going to say yes.

We know How to bartend and be nice to customers and make good tips she doesn't seem to like her job. She wasn't even busy but didn't wanna take care of the customers. Anyways we went down the street to the beaver and the bartender there was the opposite of Melissa she literally said can I please see your pretty ladies ids and it's like WOW can you just see the different of someone who is actually nice and enjoys their job and treats their customers nicely. Dave's is literally losing money by having a mean Melissa behind the bar. yall need to upgrade to someone who appreciates the job and the customers coming in. There's so many bars to choose from and so many bartenders out there, no one has to go to the spot with the lazy chick working and also other people would love to bartender there and make good money and give services with a smile at least. Reconsider your staff please.

This last time I went to Swizzle it was on a Saturday night and I didn't get there until 10pm and it was off the chain with no where to park or sit. There was a also a little food stand outside in the parking lot, which is really good for a bunch of drinking folks!!

The staff here absolutely crush it -- friendly, quick with a drink, and they make you feel like a regular even if it's your first time walking in. The place has that perfect dive-bar charm: cool lighting, fun decor, and just the right amount of energy without feeling overcrowded. Tonight they even had a food contest going on, which made the whole night a blast. Honestly, I've seen a few of those one-star reviews and can't help but think those folks must've had a bad day -- because Swizzle is exactly what a neighborhood bar should be: chill, affordable, and full of good vibes. If you've ever wondered what it feels like to accidentally teleport back to 1992 without warning or…read moreconsent... I have the place for you. So here's the thing: I recently moved kinda sorta into the area, and my drinking buddy asked if we wanted to stay local or wander elsewhere. My gut said, "Not around here" and listen, my intuition is usually correct. But then he pulls up this list of "Best Dive Bars in Phoenix," and apparently this gem made the cut. We walk in and BOOM! Instant time-warp, for me. I'm talking back-in-the-day bar with my mom doing karaoke while everyone chain-smoked indoors like it was a personality trait and I wasn't legal to be in there... only back then, no one cared. They call the place a "patio," but let's be honest: if nicotine had a spiritual home, it would be right here. If you're a non-smoker or someone who believes oxygen should be unobstructed by Marlboro ghosts, turn around. This is not your ministry. The bartender was an absolute icon. She announced she wasn't even supposed to be working, which is EXACTLY the kind of energy a true dive bar requires. She was slammed, running around like she was bartending both the Super Bowl and a family reunion, so the drinks took a looong while... but when they came? Suddenly I understood life again. And the karaoke... let me tell you. I went in there ready to sing something from this century. The options, however, politely declined. This was old-school karaoke, baby. Like, the kind of setup where you half expect to write your song down on a napkin and hand it to a man named Chuck. No new music that I could find. No modern selections from my lists. If you want to sing something post-2005, bring a Bluetooth speaker and emotional support. And yet? I had so much fun. Like... stupid fun. Unexpected fun. "Why am I having a euphoric experience inhaling secondhand smoke in 2026?" fun. I didn't get to check out the bathroom, which honestly might be a blessing or a missed adventure.... unclear. But everything else? Chef's kiss. Friends french fries were fresh and hot... and actual potato as far as we could tell... double kiss. Dive-bar perfection. If you want sterile, curated, Instagrammable vibes: run. If you want to scream-laugh, smell like nostalgia and cigarettes for three days, and hear music older than some of the patrons? This place is your destiny. Will I be back? Absolutely. Probably with eyeliner smudged like a raccoon and ready to request karaoke songs that don't exist there.

I normally do not write reviews, however, I felt it was warranted in this situation. I came to AZ…read morefor my niece's graduation and was asked to go out with her to Mavericks. The group consisted of myself, all of her friends (who frequent your establishment regularly and speak highly of your establishment), and some of her other out of state family members. We arrive there and see others dressed in all type of attire. The wait was long, however, my niece explained that because it was graduation that might be expected. Security had walked past our party while we were waiting looking at us and not saying anything to us about our attire. When we got closer, some dude (presumably a bouncer as he dI'd not have anything on indicating he was security) aggressively approached our group and proceeded to tell us that security would not let us in because we had opened toed shoes(sandals) on. He proceeded to point to a sign with all the exclusions. The sign DID NOT explicitly say you could not wear open toed shoes. When we pointed this out to the guy, he proceeded to inform my group that it's been that way for the past 8 months and it's also listed on their website and "in 8 different places around the building". We waited in a line that covered 2 of the 4 outer walls in the building and no sign mentioning a dress code was posted anywhere until the door. My niece informed him that she was unaware of this change and has been going there for several months. He then shrugged his shoulders and said "I don't know what to tell you, it's on our website and they would turn you around at the door. We've had to turn around 10 people tonight because of open toed shoes." As we were leaving, we watched another group literally enter your establishment with opened toed shoes ( platform sandals)! When the bouncer who had approached us before was asked about this, his response was "it's a private establishment, we can do what we want." I would like to go on to mention that I also looked at your website...there is not a single mention of a dress code. The instagram site also does not mention a dress code. Also, our niece and her friends have been to your establishment numerous times and would most definitely have informed us that we needed to change way before we spent 30+ minutes in a line to only be refused at the door for our attire. While you have the right to refuse service for any reason, the treatment that we experienced was rude and unnecessary. It was also fabricated because your staff kept mentioning dress codes but obviously it wasn't enforced for every patron that came to your establishment . In this climate where everything feels tense, feels high stressed, and we are all looking to have fun, that was our intentions when we went out with our niece last night. However, that experience for her and ourselves will now be tainted because of the treatment we exprienced at your establishment.
