They have little models of their açaí bowls

Came here after a hike wanting something nutritious. Ordered a couple of açaí bowls and smoothies. So delicious and fresh! Service was great; ambiance was great. Several people biked/scootered in and sat outside. You can see the river too!

Breakfast Bowl
Carine B.

Was craving something nourishing for my body after a week of pastries and indulgences so I stopped by Active Culture. I ordered a breakfast bowl with spinach and potatoes. Overall, it was very hearty and I ended up taking half home. That said, I found it to be a tad over priced at $19 for beans, two eggs, micro diced potatoes, a little cheese and spinach, some avocado and toppings. The cheese was also a bit rubbery and cold by the time it arrived. Overall, it was good and clean (which is a major plus) but I'm not sure I'd order this bowl again and would try the açaí instead. The staff were friendly on a busy Saturday and the bowl took about 15 minutes or so to come out. I sat outdoors which was lovely as it was a warm sunny day. There are lots of outdoor benches with umbrellas. The indoor seating is a bit more limited.

The seasonal shamrock shake was incredible . I loved the genuine mint flavor. I was so lucky to have stumbled across this place before heading home.

We had a delicious delivery and cannot wait to visit in person! We had the protein açaí bowl and the hummus wrap. Both delicious. Why a 4 versus a 5 star? The delivery was timely; however the two drinks we ordered (la croix) were not delivered. We probably won't order delivery again as we don't trust we'll get our entire order.

An amazing vegetarian place that has a great variety of healthy options. Came here for lunch with family after a day of skiing and everything was so lovely. It's clean and cozy inside w/ very kind staff & fast service. I ordered the breakfast bowl over spinach which was warm and fresh. You can really tell that the ingredients are fresh and you feel great and energized afterwards. Loved this place and its effort to provide healthy meals!!

Rustic Kale Salad
Mikala C.

Came here for a quick healthy lunch. The menu is full of fresh, veggie friendly options. I liked the kale salad though was disappointed that it lacked any protein. By far, the bend bowl was everyone's favorite and I would order it again. It had a curry like sauce, avocado, cabbage, beans, and rice! Super yummy.

Kale, organic quinoa, garbanzo beans, red onion, tomato, cucumber all mixed with a yummy sauce.

The perfect stop for the yummiest and healthiest food. Just what I needed on my road trip down to California. Worth the three minute drive from hwy 97 south.

The Experience: I visited Toasty while I was on vacation in Bend and loved having so many options at one spot as a vegan. What stood out: Service: The woman taking orders was attentive with answering our questions and making recommendations. Our two crunchwraps took around 25 minutes before our buzzer rang and we went to pick it up. Product/Food: I ordered the buffalo chik'n crunchwrap and my boyfriend ordered the nacho cheeze crunchwrap. As someone who despises eating lettuce, the way the cold and warm ingredients are intentionally layered throughout the crunchwrap is beyond delicious. I ate my crunchwrap within minutes of it being hitting the table. The tortilla was perfectly flaky, the homemade ranch was an amazing texture, and the chick'n was seasoned to perfection. Ambiance: Toasty is a small food trunk in the Podski food truck pod complex. It is incredibly busy and it can be difficult to find a seat. However, it is fun and lively with some great people watching opportunities once you are seated. Toasty will continue to be our favorite spot to eat at in Bend!

I've been waiting because my daughter actually said she needed to write our review but WOW doesn't…read moredo it. So let's back into this. We went to Bend to see AJR - her favorite band. And we stayed the night AFTER the show instead of driving back to Beaverton. SO the next day we had brunch at Fix & Repeat. She was wearing her AJR shirt and hat, and she was HAPPY and still bubbling over the show. We were talking about the show and received our food - we both ordered the Spiced Burrito. Let me tell you - this place is PLANT Based. So it's not FAKE meat. It's walnut meat which takes a lot of effort and knowing how to flavor and season. Because it's just mashed walnuts otherwise. We got the burrito and used the Campfire Hot sauce (which is SO delicious and flavorful - and local to Bend!) And my daughter said she felt like Angels had made and delivered her burrito as it was THE BEST THING SHE'D EVER EATEN. It had such great flavor. It was phenomenal. I love a hearty breakfast burrito and man it was delicious. Then after we were drooling over the food we had JUST eaten, we went back to talking about the concert. There were two openers - one that we shall not mention and Izzy Escobar. The manager or owner, who was there working started talking to the staff about the concert and we said OMG you were there too?!?! And mentioned WOW was Izzy Escobar amazing or what?! And she said yes and we were bubbling over talking about HOW incredible she is and one of the staff members said "UM - that's her isn't it?!" And we looked behind us and Izzy and her band were SITTING ON THE PATIO!!! She is vegan so they popped in for breakfast too!! And also kept saying how AMAZING the food was. So we got GREAT food and got to meet Izzy!!! This was an absolute dream. We can't wait to go back - maybe for an Izzy concert!

tl;dr great food, tell them about all your allergies so they can modify, get gluten free pastries!…read more A tasty option for brunch or dinner with several clearly marked gluten free items. You can also customize your meal as needed. To order, you stand in line like at a food court counter, but in a fancy way. While we were there, the line stretched to the door most of the time but it moves fast. This is the time you use to choose your bottle of wine, pick food, and browse the pastries on display. There were several places to sit indoors and out after placing the order. The kids hade the garlic bites (fried balls of bread with garlic and cheese...looked like doughnut holes!) and a pizza. They can add pepperoni to a cheese pizza for the particular children in your life. My husband and I shared a Cobb salad, no croutons to make it gf (the lemon dill dressing was AMAZING! Actually, this whole salad was very good). We also intended to share the NY strip with chimichurri. However, we didn't read that it comes with bread and a side salad (great!) and roasted vegetables in romesco sauce (also great!). My husband is allergic to nuts and so he couldn't eat any. That is not a complaint...all on us! The menu is clearly marked. But be aware if you have a nut allergy to specify that you can't have the romesco sauce. Or let the order taker know, as they are informed on modifications and whatnot. So he ate the salad and done pizza. I ate most of the steak and veggies. Everything tasted really good. The steak was a bit gristly. But the chimichurri was great. My absolute favorite thing was the elote cake with tajin buttercream. It was not a sweet cake. But it was heavenly. I should have grabbed another piece before we left. It was creative and salty and delicious and I still want it two days later. Service was great. Food is brought out as it's ready, not all at once. And the side salad and bread is brought before the main dish. The people were friendly and helpful. This was a great place and I would definitely go back.

After eight years, Crux is overdue for a review update. Biggest reason is that quite a few years…read moreago they expanded the place significantly, opening up the large room to the right of the bar that opens into the outdoor area. That room is equipped with restrooms, relieving one of my major complaints about a lack of facilities, as well as a second serving station complete with taps. Since then, Crux has significantly changed the outdoor area as well although I'm not certain it's an upgrade. It's a little too landscaped and way too much like a playground now. Locals have always tended to refer to Crux as 'daycare but with beer.' The last several times I've come here, the second serving station has not been in operation even though it looks to be still fully functional. Meanwhile the line to the bar serving stations is often long, sometimes almost out the door. Not sure why that is, doesn't make sense to have the capacity to more efficiently serve customers but not use it. All that said, the beer is still stellar and they continue to have a wide range of beer choices, the new(ish) large room has plentiful high-top seating (mobility challenged folks will need to venture outside), and the music is kept below ear-splitting volume. You can also sit at the bar itself although the vibe there isn't great - it's not like a neighborhood pub bar. Crux still has a kitchen. I used to order directly from them but have since transitioned to patronizing one of the several food carts outside. Being food carts, they tend to come and go so I'll not go into detail there. That said, the new Alpine Smash burger is fabulous. The other significant change in recent years has been with the location. A dispute with the property owners to the west resulted in the access road that way being closed, requiring Crux patrons to use the road coming from Second/Scott Street (or ride a bike). The west road is now open, maybe because the Jackstraw housing complex over that way is now completed and the road serves their tenants. RIP Spoken Moto.
