I was very much not a fan of this burrito. The salsa just completely overshadowed every thing else that was in it. The potatoes were pretty good, as was the chicken sausage by itself. It's a very nice restaurant right near the campus of the University of Texas. I can't say I'd choose to come here again but if I did find myself back I'd try and come for dinner instead. read more

Hubs and I booked a table at Acre 41 on NYD for brunch and I expected a 4-star experience. Sadly, I was disappointed. Food was 3 stars. Not amazing, but tasty. Shrimp and grits were savory and the shrimp was perfection, but, like other reviews have stated, not enough grits! Hubs had the steak and eggs. Eggs were perfectly medium, and the steak was made to order, but lukewarm. We ordered the crab roll to start, and it was quite delicious, lovely and light, but unfortunately came out with the entrees. Service and presentation: 2 stars, which makes me sad. Sat by an attentive hostess in a gorgeous purple sweater! When we first sat we noticed the water glasses were spotted with soap residue. So we asked for fresh glasses, but our waitperson seemed put upon at the ask. We ordered coffee and a bottle of sparkling wine. The coffee came quickly. Asked for spoons to stir our coffee. They didn't come until 15 minutes after the first pour, so we used our knives to mix the cream into our cups, lest we drink cold coffee. Bubbly came a few minutes more but with red wine glasses and no bucket. Husband had to ask our server for them. When it took an inordinate amount of time to get the bucket and flutes, he went to the bar to ask for them. I suppose the bar staff alerted restaurant management because shortly thereafter the bucket and glasses were delivered to our table by management. For the remainder of our visit, management waited on us, which is NOT what we intended, but our server did drop by with clamshells for our remaining food. We wrapped our visit, and made sure to tip our server the standard 20 percent, but I don't think we will be visiting again. read more

AMAZING. We had a $200 bill and it was well spent. Seriously, the service was incredible. We sat at the bar since reservations were full until 9pm for Valentine's Day weekend, and our bartender/server was 10/10 so good!!!! Really nice guy, I described my fave type of wine and he hooked us up!!! & who looked to be a manager was also very helpful, we were asking for different types of whiskey and he was just catering to every need - thank you!!! The service was paired with incredible food, we got the blue crab and artichoke as an app and the Wagyu Coulotte. Did not know sirloin could be cooked so well; it falls apart, veggies, seasoning, sauce....everything - truly have no words!!! It is pricy, but worth it for a nice date! read more

I ate here today for lunch and was thoroughly impressed all the way around. The decor? Super nice but still comfortable. The service? Awesome. Our group consisted of eight individuals and our waiter didn't miss a beat. The food? The best poke bowl I have ever had. The salmon was so fresh and such great quality that it definitely ruined all other salmon poke bowls in my future because none will compare. The ponzu sauce complimented everything but didn't overpower. I will definitely be back. read more

Stunning....simply stunning. I've been following this restaurant on Instagram for awhile and finally was able to stop in for dinner. It's nestled inside The Otis Hotel and I most definitely plan to be back to stay in there. The restaurant feels very open and inviting. The decor is such a modern vintage retro feel and I felt transported. My plus one had the halibut and I had the filet and we shared the elote street corn. His halibut was well cooked and had nice flavor. The elote street corn was such an explosion of delicious flavor and came highly recommended by our waiter David. The filet though , the filet was hands down the star of the table and the very first bite to sadly the last was an experience for my taste buds. Seasoned so incredibly well, perfectly cooked at medium as requested and the smoothest cut. Each bite was savory, lingering and honestly the best filet I've had in a long time. My plus one had a few bites and we both agreed the filet was perfection. We met the manager Brad and he was so nice and welcoming. He really goes above and beyond for the patrons for the hotel and restaurant. I look forward to actually staying in the hotel at some point. read more

This is a hard one. Food is good, service is terrible!! Last night a friend and I had dinner here. We had to sit in the bar area at one of the side tables because the restaurant was not open yet. My halibut was delicious. The bill was about $175 for two people, including an appetizer, dinner, drinks, dessert. We constantly had to ask the server for things. We went up to the bar multiple times to have our waters we filled and to ask for things. Never once did anybody come to our table to take our menu, refill waters, or take away plates. We literally went up to the bar to order each item and then back up to the bar to get water refills. We had to bus the table ourselves by moving plates to a nearby table because they nobody ever cleared the table all between appetizers, dinner, dessert, and the bar table is small. I do not recommend the brownie sundae. The scoops of ice cream are so tiny. It's not enough to go with the brownie. So we had a lot of brownie left over. Ice cream was good brownie was just OK. Even getting the bill it was difficult. I finally got it and paid it, but they never gave me an itemized one to take home for my records. It was just such a bad service experience. Since I'm staying at the hotel, I came here for breakfast. Sitting here for breakfast and the service is still terrible. Oatmeal was OK. The vanilla latte was completely different than it was last night. I ended up going to the bar and having them make it for me there. If you get a coffee order it at the bar instead of the restaurants part. Breakfast came out to almost $20. It's OK, I would've been just as happier with oatmeal and coffee at Starbucks It's a fine place to eat if you're staying at the hotel and don't feel like going out. But I would not go come on purpose. read more

Acre 41 - Bone in Belly-On Pork Chop* - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Austin, Texas

We went to Acre 41 for a date night out, and we are so happy with our decision! For starters, the restaurant is absolutely beautiful, but it is a little noisy with the open kitchen, and connecting hotel lobby, so it's not the choice for a quiet, intimate dinner, if that's what you're looking for. The service was impeccable, and everyone was so attentive! We ordered the belly on pork chop, and the cilantro halibut for dinner, with sides of pommes puree and the roasted asparagus. It was all just heavenly!!! I actually wish now that we would have ordered an appetizer, because the food was just THAT good, and so amazingly fresh!!! The pork chop was the size of the plate, it was just massive, and so juicy, and tender. The sides were actually a great portion, and perfect for the two of us two share between us! Everything was seasoned to perfect, and cooked just right, and served absolutely beautifully, yet simply. We had four drinks, two from the menu, one bourbon and one seasonal, and each was just delicious, and quite strong! I would absolutely come back again, and consider looking at the wine menu more in depth. They also have a great HH with some of the stars of the menu listed, which we will definitely be returning for. Five stars all around, from start to finish! read more

My wife and I came here for first time. It was fantastic. I had the Burrata as a starter. Also had 2 old fashions. They have a very extensive old fashion menu. Great way to start the evening. For mains I had the strip and my wife had the pork chop. The strip was probably one of best I have ever had. The mash potatoes and green beans were the sides and they were exceptional. My wife loved the pork chop. She did share and I thought it was well executed. Our server Trent topped off the evening with exceptional service. He provided us with great recommendations and was very attentive. Thank you Trent! We will be back soon. read more

Picked the spot based on the reviews. I typically don't select hotel restaurants. But it had strong reviews so I thought I would give it a try. The starters were all very good. The first drink was made incorrectly but the got it right after that. Both mains were completely over cooked. Staff was very nice and attentive. I understand that we are returning to normal but when you ask for a burger medium rare and it's well done, same with the pork. I said please don't overcook them pork chop, it was also well done. Beautiful place, very friendly staff nice drinks but both mains were over cooked. I don't send food back it's not my way. So many great places to eat in Austin. I don't need to go back. read more

Extremely below average service for a $$$$$ restaurant. My photo shows how empty the place was only to be left waiting wondering when the waitress was coming several times in the night. Maybe it's because the restaurant is in a hotel? I can't imagine spending so much money for barely decent service. The food was great. Attention/service below average. Hanging out at the bar-top with Dakota and Emalie! Excellent cocktails and amazing service. The atmosphere of Acre 41 makes me feel fancy with the judgement of an expensive steak house. Fantastic atmosphere and service. John was excellent with recommendations. He was helpful with drink recommendations, to include specific liquors to include in which drinks. We had a great dinner here this past Friday! We ordered the roasted bone marrow and the cornbread for starters. I swear all of my food experiences in Austin just keep getting worse and worse. I arrived for my reservation on time, but we had to wait 20 minutes because they unexpectedly had a table of 18 show up. The kitchen was backed up, so the hostess came and apologized at some point. You would think they would offer a free round of drinks or some thing, considering how long we waited but no. Not a big deal, but when our food did come out, I had a feeling my shrimp was a little undercooked, but I was like there's no way that this could possibly be that bad .After we got our check, we went out and my stomach started feeling this incredible pain. It took a couple hours before the pain became unbearable and then, of course, as expected food poisoning... I'll spare you the projectile vomiting details. I've only gotten one other time in my life from undercooked seafood in Mexico... this somehow feels so much worse. Don't waste your time coming here. Maybe it's my sense of bias, but I feel like every restaurant in Austin just has five actual full options on their menu and between my friend returning the chicken because it was dry and my food poisoning I don't really understand what they're possibly good at making. read more

Stayed at the AC hotel and was given some vouchers for complimentary drinks for Acre 41. Though our dinner plans was somewhere else we decide to swing by the place since we had 2.5 hrs left til our dinner reservations. From front staff ( Glen ) to wait-staff ( Isabel ) one of the best customer service my friends and I received. Extremely attentive, with such fun positive attitude that shows they appreciate having you as a guest. It was my friend's birthday and they offered us complimentary dessert and Moët champagne. Acre 41 - Water - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Austin, Texas

Came here for my birthday yesterday and OMG... I was very pleasantly surprised on the quality of food. First off, the ambiance is amazing. The dim lighting and the spacing between tables made me really happy because it made the experience very romantic and a little private. I went later in the day with a reservation and I did not have any issues with loudness or overbearing music. Our waiter, Andrew was very helpful in going through the menu with us and gave us some great suggestions. I ended up getting the steak with mashed potatoes, steamed veggies and an extra side of fried brussel sprouts. The food was so delicious!!! The steak was medium well and seasoned to perfection, the mashed potatoes were very buttery and the steamed broccoli was nicely cooked. But the brussel sprouts were my favorite. They were fried and seasoned with a sweet and spicy sauce... WOW. I loved it. I also got to try their shoestring fries which were nice and crispy, as well as their truffle pasta. The truffle pasta was also an excellent choice. The truffle paired perfect with the cheese and it was not too powerful, perfectly balanced flavors. Our appetizer was the bruschetta with honey and the restaurant gave us extra bread since we were a large party. Also, very delicious and perfectly flavored. For drinks, I had the Texas mule, the house margarita and a cup of Rose. Drinks are strong, so make sure you plan accordingly. Only thing I wish the Texas mule (which is tamarind flavored) was more tamarind flavored. Free valet parking with the hotel for two hours. I will be coming back here again! read more

Food: 3/5 Just average food, nothing special for what they're charging. The crab and artichoke dip was bland and there wasn't even a hint of crab nor artichoke. I like my hot food hot, and cold food cold. The dip was room temperature, which isn't ideal for a seafood/dairy plate. The corn bread was moist, but lacked that sweet corn, buttery flavor that I like. Chorizo oysters were underwhelming and again, it was room temp which was off putting. The steaks were cooked correctly according the doneness we requested. They were tender, but it just seemed to lack something, like butter and a little salt. It wasn't dry, but it was if that makes sense. The jalapeño Mac and Cheese was decent, nothing special. I think the thing we enjoyed most was the fig Moscow mule lol. Lastly, the brownie was also average, and there was nothing unique about the Mexican vanilla ice cream. Service: 5/5 The service was excellent, our waiter was super nice and helpful. I'm terrible with names, it might have been Cody or Corey. Ambiance: 5/5 Very upscale; good for any special occasion. I'd only return for drinks, the service and ambiance. read more

Spent 200 bucks here last night. First round of drinks was well done, we jokingly challenged the waiter on whether a good mojito would come. Round one was great. Second round was half ass, no muddling, just syrups. Steak was fine, wife ordered well done New York. About 3/4 inch of pink in the middle after the waiter asked us to check. Sent back. Waiter says "it was almost there". No dude it wasn't. The comment combined with the grudge burning of the strip thereafter makes this a never again for my household... even if it was free. I had the ribeye. It was ok. Certainly not great for the price point. If you're going to be a classy joint, be classy. Don't act like your restaurant with a view of Chick-fil-A is better than serving me like I'm lucky to be there. Just have drinks on the roof, at least it's a pool bar and knows who it is. read more

Just had dinner at Acre 41 tonight. Last minute dinner after just arriving in Austin for our anniversary. Great place! Not many people due to Covid, plus a Thursday night. We had the Merlot and Acre 41 Old Fashion. The Old Fashion was excellent. For starters we had the spinach & blue crab dip and the Iron Skillet Cornbread! The cornbread with the honey butter was tasty...lukewarm, but tasty. For dinner we shared the 36 ounce Tomahawk steak. It was a special for the evening and considered premium meat. Everything was great, but the Tomahawk Premium, not Heritage ( I think), was over priced at $180. It was a good 36 0z steak, don't get me wrong. The char on the meat was incredibly flavorful. Just felt it was a bit pricey. I will definitely eat there again while here for the next 5 days for our anniversary. Mainly because the ambiance, taste dishes, and our server was excellent. I highly recommend for the great food, drinks and service. I give them a 4 because of the lukewarm cornbread and price of the steak. I would give them a 4.5, but the app does not seem to allow that. Just my opinion. Hope it helps. read more

I went here for dinner with my dad and it was really nice! Classy and modern atmosphere with no need to dress up (it's Austin!) . It's located close to campus in The Otis Hotel. I got the reservations last-minute and we got a table no problem. Our server was lovely! However, a review isn't fair without a touch of constructive criticism. The only issue with the food I found was in the shrimp and grits dish. There was only a tiny portion of grits and the dish was more like a stew with peppers. The breadstick wasn't very soft and was hard to bite into. The crab & artichoke dip was a perfect starter, while the pommes de pureé were to die for. The pretzel & peanut dessert cake was delicious- and I'm not even a dessert person. ABSOLUTELY worth it. Overall, a great restaurant to try in Austin! read more

Really nice decor and atmosphere - located inside the lobby of The Otis Hotel. Went for a group dinner recently, and it was OK... For starters we got the Beef Tataki, Tuna Wonton Tacos and Blue Crab & Artichoke Dip - all were delicious, flavorful and great portion size for a group of 6 to share. When it came to order the entrees, our server was very confident in saying that Acre41 was a "true steakhouse" and we could not go wrong with any of the meat options. So my friend and I ordered the Pork Chop and Ribeye to share. I ordered the Ribeye medium-rare, since I was worried about the kitchen overcooking the steak... and unfortunately the did. The first steak we received was pretty much well done and completely dry. Our server was super apologetic, and rectified things as quickly as possible. The second ribeye we received was cooked perfectly med-rare, but was so bland - I don't think they even salted the meat before they cooked it. At that point we were starving, so we ate the steak as it was. The porkchop was also super dry. No sauces or anything to accompany your steaks either. Thankfully we got a side of the Creamed Spinach (which was phenomenal, and a huge portion for the table to be able to share), that we were dipping every bite of pork chop and steak with it. The Pommes Purée and Broccolini sides that came with each were both good too. I will say, if you come to Acre41, you're better off NOT ordering any of their 'steakhouse' meat entrees. And I mean it. Everyone else at our table who didn't get a steak or meat, was raving about their entree - the Gulf Shrimp & Grits was a huge hit, as was the Cilantro Seared Halibut and Iceberg Wedge Salad. Service was a little slow, but overall our server was great and very hospitable. read more

I'm new to Austin....so I'm constantly looking at reviews to select places to try. Acre 41 was highly rated so I gave it a try! It was great! Casual but slightly sophisticated.
