Went here during Denver Restaurant Week with some fellow Yelpies since none of us had tried this…read moreplace before, and it seemed like a good opportunity to check it out. First, the service was excellent. Staff were attentive, friendly, and everything came out at a good pace. No complaints there. As for the food, we ended up trying pretty much everything on the restaurant week menu, and unfortunately the overall theme seemed to be a lack of seasoning and flavor. For the first course, the standout for me was the bison bone marrow. It was rich, buttery, and easily the most flavorful dish of the round. The lamb bolognese was the weakest of the starters. The lamb itself was tender and the bolognese flavor was present, but it was still a bit bland. The saffron ricotta also felt unnecessary and gave the dish a slightly odd flavor combination. For the second course, we tried the bison short rib, duck confit, and Faroe Island salmon. The bison short rib was very tender, but again under seasoned. The leek and Yukon pommes that came with it had a gummy, almost paste-like texture that wasn't very appealing. The salmon also lacked seasoning and was unfortunately dry but the crispy skin was honestly the best part of that dish. The duck confit probably had the most flavor overall and was cooked well, but the grits served with it seemed undercooked and also needed salt. For dessert, things improved a bit. The sticky toffee pudding was the best of the three and a solid way to end the meal. The mango and ginger sorbet had a nice idea behind it but the fruit flavor came across pretty weak. The flourless chocolate torte was decent, though personally a bit too rich and chocolate heavy for my taste. Overall, great service and a nice opportunity to try the restaurant during restaurant week.

How do I put an out-of-this world birthday dinner experience into words? Here it goes…read more. We were welcomed by a lovely hostess after walking through Wildflower's doors. She greeted me happy birthday which was nice and personal. I quickly noticed how nice the restaurant smelled. The dark green interior colors gave off a nice vibe, upscale and classy. We were seated right away. There was a hand written birthday card waiting for me at the table, from the restaurant, that was such a sweet surprise. Now to the main event. The food and service. My husband and I ordered: Mikan Buri Crudo, Foccacia, Ricotta Cavatelli, and Moulard Duck. All four dishes blew our mind. We forced ourselves to eat slow-er because we didn't want the amazing experience to end!! Our favorite dish of the night was the Mikan Buri Crudo. It had the best yellowtail we've ever had. It was a melt in your mouth type of dish. Perfectly paired with a citrus sauce, pineapple and other amazing ingredients ... I would travel and come back to wildflower for that dish alone. If you love fresh seafood and Crudo, I strongly suggest trying it. The duck probably comes in second to me. It was cooked perfectly. The service provided by wildflower's team stood out to me and my husband. Our water glasses were constantly refilled, table was cleaned in between dishes. While my went to the bathroom, one of our servers came and refolded his napkin then placed it back on the table. It's the little details and effort for me!!! I also loved their pink and white dishes. Everything felt so elegant. It was a perfect way to celebrate my birthday. Thank you, Wildflower team for this outstanding experience. You set the bar high and other restaurants should take notes.

Upon walking up to the restaurant, it does not seem like much but it is very nice inside. The food and drinks were very tasty. I would highly recommend the chef's choice (omakase style). It is a bit pricey but the food was plentiful and it was nice to just have everything provided without having to choose what to eat especially if you are going there as a business dinner like I did. Drink choices are unique and there were options for mocktails as well. I took off a point because although our server was very helpful and knowledgeable, he was talking about the food and other things a bit too much where my customers and our higher ups were getting irritated. I think some training there would be helpful. Overall, I had a good experience there and would recommend checking it out for a nice dinner at a place with good ambiance.

The bartenders are excellent...special shout-out to Kendrick and Atze for their great beer recommendations...the customers are all friendly, which is especially great when you're traveling solo, like I was...and the food is wonderful. I am STILL dreaming about that Drive-Thru Burger. It was literally the best smash burger I've ever had. I think it was the potato bun that made it particularly tasty. Cool space, with both indoor and outdoor seating. And a convenient location to the Union Station neighborhood...especially if you are staying at the Hilton Garden Inn Denver Union Station, which is right across the street. I will definitely be back! We started with Brussel Sprouts and the Corn Fritters. They both were amazing and enjoyed. My daughter and I enjoyed the 1 # steak cooked medium. It can get loud as it fills up, but not overly so. The stars of the night were the service and food! Delightfully irreverent but never forgetting that this is an elevated experience. The service was amazing. Friendly, fun, helpful and ever present. The food though was AMAZING. We opted for the walk with us where you pick the main & then you get all the apps & deserts on the menu. Absolute heaven! We had the Halibut and the pork belly Bo SSAM (lettuce wraps). Both were to die for! But another star of the show was the shaken chef rice. It's hard to explain, but made for one of the most surprisingly amazing things I've eaten in a while. Then the evening ended with red miso ice cream with chocolate shell, banana brule and other wonderful toppings. This place deserves their Michelin recognition for sure!

That said, I found the food to be good but not particularly exceptional. The service was outstanding and easily one of the highlights of the experience. Everyone was attentive, friendly, and made us feel well taken care of. The ambience is also a big part of the appeal, especially on a cool evening when you can enjoy the rooftop deck. It makes for a really pleasant setting and adds to the overall experience. One thing to be aware of when planning a visit is the 22% service charge. This is not necessarily a complaint, but it is something worth knowing ahead of time so there are no surprises when the bill comes. Remember, service charges do not pay your server. Overall, Hey Kiddo is a nice place for a relaxed evening, especially if you are looking for a good atmosphere, light bites, and excellent service.

Mussels: Similar to loaded cooked oysters with a bunch of cheese melted on top. It was alright. Wouldn't get again. Flat Iron Steak: Came with zucchini and potatoes. Honestly not great. Felt dry and very charred. Not very juicy. Banana Cheesecake. This was not bad. Spent about $200 between two people. All pretty good but the only one I'd get again is the bolognese. I might only come back when I crave bolognese. Next time we'd get 3 dishes plus dessert. We ordered 1 too many this time.

My friend and I sat at the bar and had such a fun night. The ricotta agnolotti was easily my favorite dish. It was a 10/10. We also got the French onion tartlet, which I loved. If you like caramelized onions, you have to order it. It was sweet and savory and almost tasted like an onion dessert (in the best way possible). The bread and butter was also delish. There were only two dishes I wasn't crazy about, but that was definitely more of a personal preference on my end. One was an artichoke dish where you ate the whole artichoke. I realized I just don't love that texture. The other was a tuna tartare with cheese. The combination wasn't really for me, and the tuna was a little fishier than I prefer. My friend loved both, though. I also love that the menu is seasonal, so there's always a reason to come back. Overall, this is an easy five stars, and I can't wait to come back and try more!!!

The duck fat Madeleines with chicken liver and marmalade were also really nice. The artichokes had a great texture but the accompanying sauces were lackluster. The French onion tart was really not good lol. Service was good until the entree which took a long time to arrive. The pacing of dishes was otherwise on point. It was a million decibels inside at all times, the baren walls could have used literally any method of sound dampening. Also, and this is a wild one, but the passion fruit gummies given with the check tasted like a blood clot. Immediate taste of iron. Idk of this has to do with how they are made or stored but you have got to do something about that if you want it to be a nice after dinner treat because what the hell was that flavor? I would worry it was just me but my date thought the same thing. Overall, it wasn't wallet destroyingly expensive and I would give them a second shot.
