Needed a key for my 2012 Subaru Outback cut and programmed. I brought my own key and they let me know that couldn't warranty it since I provided the key. I was fine with that. Pretty much every shop says this, and while I do get why they say it, the costs of these keys from any local source is just so high. I found a refurbished one online for $39 but everywhere local (dealer included) the key can cost as much as $200. Also it seems that no matter who programs and cuts the key (including the dealer) the cost is ~$130 for this car and key combo (I called 4 shops). I went with a local shop since the dealer requires an appointment and it takes quite a while. Also I'd rather give money to a small business, the tech had her kids there and everything so I'd rather support a family shop like that. The tech was great and she got it programmed and cut. I feel confident that I got a good key online, and that's the risk I took on. read more

Stopped by Ace locksmith service today because I had an issue with my Schlage double cylinder commercial deadbolt. Margaret very patiently helped me and didn't even charge. This is old-fashioned customer service from nice people. Also had two Schlage keys cut. Only $2.25 each. Avoid the machines at the big box stores and come here if you need to duplicate keys. read more

The gentleman who came was quite friendly, quick and a true professional. With dealing with home repairs, I haven't found this level of professionalism from any of my vendors. I had my son with me and he was very kind to him as well as my son was being a normal 3 year old inquisitive child. I would highly recommend them and part of my reviewing is so that I can remember who they are so I can use them again. I had a 2002 Saturn Vue that the key had worn out on, and I couldn't turn the ignition on. I was in a time crunch because it was going to get towed in 48 hours. Well guess what my wife drove the Batmobile to run an errand, she returned home and parked the car in the driveway. An hour later we could not find the keys to my car (i.e. my key chain), and to this day they have never been found but she did drive the car home, wonders never cease! So a trip to a key maker was needed, I had been to Ace several times before and had great service so I headed there using my spare set of car keys. As usual the service was great; she made my additional house keys, my additional mail box keys very quickly and did a great job. I highly recommend Ace Locksmith. Price was great very low. However she was not able to duplicate my car key, not her fault, the Buick Company now has computer chips in the key and in the click-click thingy you get to open your doors with. Bummer! Guess how much it cost to replace the key and click-click things and get it activated to my car at the Buick dealer? $210.00! Ouch! The cost of replacing car keys has really gone up, what happen to the good old days when a key was just a key? Would I go back? Yes I will when I need new keys again. read more

Great find! A true local small business- pretty excellent! I lost my mailbox key, and I didn't know how much trouble that meant, until after visiting so many of the major hardware chains in my area (LOWE'S and Home Depot)... sigh- nobody seemed to carry this specific kind of "rare" blank key. After several days of "anguish", somebody mentioned Ace Locksmith. The experience of going to a small local mom & pop business is amazing, there are so few of these remaining due to the expansion of corporate sharks... Anyway, the lady behind the counter greeted me, took a brief look at my "rare" key, and finished 2 duplicates in less than 1 minutes- done! The duplicate keys worked perfectly smooth, very nice quality. It seems Ace carries many times more blank keys (even rare ones) compared to any of the larger chain locksmiths... Also Ace does everything manually, with great attention to detail. And kind customer service. I highly recommend using Ace Locksmith for all of your key duplication and etc. services. Amazing service. I would't go anywhere else in Round Rock! Went to see them early July for a locked gas cap that I didn't have the key for (left in another city). First come, first served, but was second in line so was ok with that. The lady had my lock picked within 5 minutes, and only charged me a fraction of what I originally thought she'd would. I felt so guilty that I bought a key. Didn't have any cash on me, so couldn't tip her, so I thought I'd write a nice review here. She truly saved my butt that day. My daughter locked hher keys in the car at high school so I called around- SHOCKED that some places would have charged at least $150 after I told them what make, model, and location of the car to meet me. Thankfully, I called ACE- they showed up right when and where I asked them and only charged $60- thanks ACE for restoring my faith in mankind! Update- I used Ace again to have the locks re-keyed on my house. Once again- GREAT service. They showed up on time and did the job quickly and cheaper than most places. I had a chip key and remote I bought online. They cut the key & programmed it fo $5!!!! Other places wanted $95 and above. I had a remote programmed and saved at least $200 total today. On top of that they were nice and friendly. Any locksmith needs in the future will be at Ace and nowhere else. read more

I was in Round Rock, searching for a local locksmith to duplicate some keys when I stumbled upon this place in a strip center off of Mays (north of Gattis School Road). The lady working inside was very nice, friendly, and was very quick in duplicating the keys I asked her to. Oh, and it was CHEAP! $1.75 per key. If you ever need keys duplicated (or I'm sure other locksmithing needs), this friendly local business is very helpful, quick & cheap. read more

DO NOT FALL FOR LOCKSMITH SCAMS!! Ace Locksmith Service is legitimate and helpful! We were quoted $25 by a different company and when the "locksmith" got here, the price went up to a whopping $115!!! We called BS and told him to get on his way, and he tried to charge us $15 just for coming out. We called BS again and told him if he didn't leave we'd call the cops. He promptly left and I called Ace. The sweet lady on the phone told me I had almost been scammed!! Thank goodness honest businesses still exsist. Don't look any further for a wonderful locksmith. had an issue with a lock in my house- it's now fixed so any potential robbers can stop reading here. called ace locksmith (they came recommended) and spoke to margaret. after giving her a description of what our problem was she gave us a quote saying it wouldn't cost anything more than that (apparently it's a common problem). the next day john comes by to fix the lock. he's the owner and margaret's his wife. ace locksmith is a family owned business and has been in the area for a couple decades. margaret was helpful on the phone and john was really nice in person and good at what he does. he was patient in answering all the questions i had (and i had a lot) and the lock was fixed in no time. hopefully i'll never be in a situation like this again but if i am i'll know who to call. read more

ACE Locksmith came today and got my garage-to-driveway door unlocked after I unintentionally locked it from inside and couldn't open it again. John showed me what to do if this should happen again. I had in my attempts before calling ACE, also pulled the string and disengaged the mechanism overhead. John also explained and re-aligned that. He was so courteous and came over quite soon after my panicky call for help. He made sure the outdoor keypad and indoor button would open and close the garage door with no issues after the fix. We had an employee leave for a better job which is great for him and we wish him well, but he neglected to return the entrance key we assigned to him and is not answering my calls. When an employee leaves our firm, it is our policy to always change the locks right away. This is to protect him or her as much as it is to protect us. I scheduled Ace Locksmith last Friday to come and rekey 3 entrance doors and the following Monday John came and took care of the rekeying in about 30 minutes. I thought I had a great find with the other reviews on yelp! Turns out, not so much. First the locksmith didn't show for the appointment on time, then didn't call when they were going to be late. THEN he accepted delivery of an item to the house without authority- including letting the delivery inside the home!!! I called the office to let them know how disappointed I was and instead of understanding and apology I was yelled at over the phone by the lady! I will not be using them again. read more
