You never think it will happen to you, but today was our worst nightmare. We accidentally locked our 8 month old in our vehicle and we completely freaked out. We called multiple people all at once from different phones in a frenzy including Longhorn and the local Fire department. We couldn't believe that Longhorn showed up several minutes before the fire department. He left in the middle of all the chaos, we couldn't believe they don't charge for that service! That moment when you run out to get something from the car and instinctively turn the lock on the way out the door without your house keys, GULP. Last Saturday night I did just that. With no cell phone and only a car key in hand I drove to a relatives house to borrow a cell phone and use their Internet to search for a 24/7 locksmith on Yelp. I reluctantly called Long Horn Lock & Key only because of their lack of reviews. Well it turned out to be an excellent decision. Bryan answered the phone and I explained I locked myself out of the house. He asked that I text him my address and someone would be over in 10-20 minutes. I had a 10 minute drive home and it turned out he lives close by and he was at my door when I arrived. Bryan shook my hand, checked my ID to verify that the address matched and got straight to work. The instant I locked myself out I imagined being locked out of my home for hours and hours only to be charged an exorbitant fee. Not only was I back in my house within 30 minutes, his charge was reasonable. I hope to never to need a locksmith again but if I do I will definitely call Long Horn. read more

Here is my experience with them: I called them today in a panic because I locked myself out and the stove was on. Meanwhile my husband was trying to open the door. I got a ETA for the tech to be at our home in 15 min. I called them back within 5-7 minutes to let them know my husband was able to get us in and to cancel the call. I was told that because the call was made the tech will be there to collect the service fee of $60. I totally get that the technician had already left and it was a inconvenience. I offered to $30 over the phone, but they refused. We had to pay $60 anyways for no service rendered. Even if I put myself in there shoes, I can't justify this. For that reason, I will never use there service again. Update: The owner of this business got in touch with me and assured that they will not charge me any service fee and realized that it was not the right approach. It definitely changed my view of this business. read more

I have a 3 story live/work space. My renters moved out in the middle if the night. I needed all the locks re keyed ASAP on a weekend. The first two places I called were bait and switch rip offs. Quoted a reasonable price then some guy showed up and quoted $500 for 6 locks. It cost me $30 to make him go away. Bryan from Longhorn Lock and Key showed up. Longhorn Lock & Key is nothing but a totally unprofessional and unreliable company! Brian was supposed to meet me at my residence on 8/16 at 10:30am and was a no show. I called and texted him re: his ETA and he never responded. He consciously chose to not follow through on the appt. and leave me scrambling to find another locksmith.
