I then asked them how much; they said $150 to unlock. Ouch, pretty pricey. Then I looked up how much it cost to replace a bedroom door; it cost $80. I told them it'd be cheaper for me to kick down the door and replace the door. They said "Okay" and hung up. Not the best company to work with. Terrible experience! I was locked out and the neighbor was very kind to call locksmith for me. I asked the person on the phone how much is the price. She said the technician will quote the price. After about 20 min, the technician arrived, I asked him how much. He stil didn't tell me. After he saw the lock, he said $265.00. I said, what??? I don't want to pay it. He said insurance will pay 3 times a year if you have lockout. Okay...I think insurance will pay for it. So I let him do it. After he finished the job, he handed $297.00 bill. I was shocked, I started suspect him is not honest with me. I never see such a crook in my life. He took advantage of the situation, charging me for a two minutes work. I am NOT happy at all. Will try to get the money back from them. One more thing, he didn't change the lock, nor tried to do anything hard at all. He spent less than two minutes and opened the door. Bait and switch. They lure you in with low prices then try to get you to give them your auto insurance so they can charge it through the roof. Once I turned the guy away for these deceptive practices he got very unprofessional and tried to get me for made up cancellation fees. I had to threaten him with law enforcement for him to get off of my property. Call someone else. This is very deceptive practices by unprofessional people. I'm usually not much for review sites and social media, but I created a Yelp Account just to express my dissatisfaction with 24/7 Mobile Locksmith. Last week on July 13, I was locked out while my wife was out of state, so I had no way of getting in. After contacting this business, the lady on the lady on the phone told me that rates were $10 to show up, and $29 starting. I expected that worst case scenario, the final price could not be more than $100...after he showed up, he quoted me $225 to open my lock, and a $40 show-fee if I decline. I declined to pay him and told him to leave. He refused, so we had a standoff for 15 minutes. What was he going to do? Fight me? This is an obvious bait and switch scam. I called Austin Key Guy later on, who completed the job for a much more reasonable price. Don't fall for this scam fellas! read more

These guys are a joke and they will do what they can to run a scam on you and make a few extra bucks. I called them to help me unlock a padlock because my key had broke and he told me he would have someone in about 15 minutes. After about 25 minutes, I got a phone call from a guy saying that he's been trying to call me and couldn't get a hold of me. I thought, interesting, my phone is been in my hand the entire time. I understand that sometimes your phone doesn't ring when people try to call but he had the audacity to ask me if I was calling him a liar when I said, "I'm sorry, my phone never rang". He went off on me like I just flipped him off to the face for no reason at all. When it came to pricing, they would not give me a clear definitive amount or range of any kind. They had a special on yelp saying $30 for $50 of service. That is super confusing because when you talk to them they will tell you that you can only apply $15 toward your bill but they would appreciate it if you didn't get the coupon through Yelp and just go to them directly. Finally, after arguing for 10 minutes about how much it was going to cost, $85? Are you effing serious? All I need you to do is cut a lock off of my gate. Needless to say, I canceled and went down to Home Depot and bought a lock cutter for $12.99. read more

I've had to move several times over the past couple of years because of a stalker who picks my door locks and steals small items, but when Wali replaced my door lock a few apartments ago, my stalker wound up actually damaging the lock because he couldn't pick it and get in, and Wali then replaced the damaged lock for me for free. So it kept my stalker out, which is what I wanted. He has picked several other brands of locks, but this one stopped him. I wound up moving because I couldn't get the police to deal with my stalker, and he had rented an apartment in the building next to mine. I just now had Wali replace the lock at my new apartment, and Wali was kind and courteous as usual. Today (Memorial Day) he had his wife with him, and they are both very nice people, who made me feel like I had made the right decision by going with them instead of one of the bigger companies. After leaving a couple messages and no one showing up by 11:15 I called Wali and even though it was a Saturday he was out there in 20 minutes and got a new key cut and programmed quickly. The lock to my back door jammed shut, and I called Wali to open it and install the replacement locks we had purchased. He arrived in 30 minutes, gave me an estimate and completed the job (front, back and side doors) in an hour, asking questions and explaining things when appropriate, and my doors and door jambs were left in good condition with no marks or scratches. Mike got there and started by saying the cost was going to be much higher since it was a newer car with anti-theft. He said "I was lucky I wasn't in NYC, it would be $350 to unlock" Then, he tells me the cost will be $139, and no one else will come at 6pm Sunday. I mentioned PopaLock would be 1/3 the price. He was quick to bash them, saying they were not certified and if they broke my window getting in that I would be liable for that. He said he had schooling. Since my daughter was waiting on me, I had the service done. It took him less than 2 mins. He had me over a barrel, took advantage of the situation, and he knew it. The locksmith who visited us said he was at our apartment when he wasn't (we would know, we were sitting out on the stoop), quoted us $170 to destroy and open our "unpickable" lock--which doesn't even include the fee for installing a new lock. We rejected his services because of the exorbitant pricing, and this locksmith still demanded $20 for just stopping by.
