On Wednesday, June 10th I called for Locksmith services. Mohanad Jebur came to my house to unlock my car. Before he even got started I asked him if his rod was going to mess my car up? He said no with PURE confidence. I asked because I could of used my moms car if need be. Well I was in a rush to go to an appt and didn't notice until later that he damage my car. Where he inserted the rod he SCRAPPED the plastic off. When I called and told him he states "that is impossible we do this all the time". He requested that I send photos which I did. He also said his boss was out of town and he needed to talk to him when he returned. I asked when that would be he stopped responding to me all together. So now I'm sitting here waiting for an update and disappointed that my car is messed up. I have called several times with no answer. SCAM! SCAM! SCAM! Called these guys today because the reviews were strong. My 78 old dad needed a locksmith to help us unlock and rekey my brothers car as he is currently in the hospital. We are all as a family scrambing to work on my brothers affairs while praying he gets better. We were so glad that this gentlemen agreed to come out today and rekey the car for a TOTAL flat rate of $295 (for the key programing and trip) which was reasonable and on par with other locksmiths. I arranged this from long distance and the locksmith named "Saigh Halamet', not a guy named Josh who claimed to be the owner arrived and rekeyed the car with no issues. He then proceeded to lie to my dad that they charge an additional $85 for a trip charge and an extra $75 for programming the key, so a total of $160 on top of the $295 originally quoted. My dad who is older did not want to argue and just agreed to pay it. I called this gentleman asking why he would charge so much for a trip charge that other competitors were including but more importantly, why would he not disclose this in the beggining? He simply said "we charge for travel". As I then started questioning him on this and the programming fee he simply hung up on me. Attached is his card. Shame on him for taking advantage of a senior citizen and not disclosing his additonal fees. Even more suspect is that his card (See attached) mentions a completely different company name ' Cedar Park' Lock and Key. Anyhow, use at your own discretion. We will be disputing this with Amex. Hope he loses the ability to take this form of payment in the future. read more

Fortunately I was able to drive it home as they just broke the lock out and part of the door handle. I want to say he picked it up on a Friday, worked on rekeying it on Saturday and then sent one of his guys out to install it on Sunday. Used to place a lot of trust on Yelp reviews but sadly this was a turning point. Had my keys stolen at the lake and needed a replacement ASAP. After messaging and letting him know that I was locked out of my car and needed it rekeyed as well, he sent me an estimate of 175. Almost half of what other locksmiths on yelp estimated for getting in and rekeying. He showed up on time which is probably the only positive thing I can say about this man. As soon as he arrived he proceeds to begin SCREAMING at me and reminding me that it is MY FAULT that I did not have a spare. He then says to get into the car he charges a $35 fee which he did not say before. Then tells me that for a fob its gonna be $350 extra. Completely my fault for not articulating that I wanted a fob but still much higher than the other locksmiths considering that he charges extra fees. Fine. He's already here and I don't want to bother calling someone else out. Had this been the end then sure he might deserve at least 2 stars. Sure, he screamed at the top of his lungs for almost 20 minutes so far but hey we all have bad days. But there's more. As he removed my ignition cover in complete frustration he ripped up a portion of the cover. After asking him if he would offer a discount he said it was just a cover and that the car would run just fine with it being all ripped up. No discount for you ripping my car interior apart?? There were shreds of cover on the ground when he was finished which he ignored to point out. This entire time I'm wondering how in the world this man is almost 5 stars on Yelp. Screamed at me for over an hour about how its my fault that I did not have a spare then destroys my interior cover for my ignition on top of the fact that his pricing is completely misleading. Then he turns to me and says that he will honor my "three year warranty" just as long as I leave a positive review on Yelp. Bingo. If you like paying premium price to have your car interior ripped apart then this is your guy. This is a mediocre locksmith who will take all his frustrations out on you and your vehicle. So....instead of hitting the highway, I literally made a turnaround meet him. Joshua quoted me an unbeatable price to duplicate my car remote. This guy is the man! I bought a key fob for my car off him and he programmed it, made sure it worked with full refund guaranteed. Got the job done in 10 minutes and was very friendly to my boyfriend and I. Prior I took my car to batteries + and they charged me twice the cost and couldn't even correctly program the key fob I purchased off them...Next I went to Chevrolet and they tried to charge me 175$ to program it with no refund if it did not work correctly. Don't use this business. If you're locked out of your house, you probably need to read fast, so here are the reasons you should not use General Mobile Locksmith: they price gouge and their business is scammy. Details below... I used Austin Mobile Locksmith before and had a terrific experience. This time, they didn't answer, and it was over 90 degrees outside, so I called General Mobile Locksmith. They answered promptly and arrived 20 minutes later (without giving a price estimate). As another review noted, the technician had me sign the "waiver" before beginning work, and upon examination later, it was actually a services rendered agreement. The agreement essentially was to pay whatever price they said it cost and no refunds. Long story short, this guy collects insurance information by leading you to think that his prices depends on that, only to break the news that you still have to pay $188 for 15 minutes worth of his time. That's three times as much as I paid with the other company, and they were much more professional. I was doubtful about GML's claim about insurance so I called my company, and sure enough, locksmith services are only covered in the event of a burglary. Even if it was covered, why would GML need the insurance information in the first place if they don't make claims for you? Seems like a scam. Avoid at all costs. And make sure you have a spare key somewhere! :) EDIT: It's true that I was contacted by the owner of this company and issued a partial refund based on my review. However, I still stand by what I wrote in the review, and even more so after dealing with this owner. This business is shady and I suspect he writes a lot of the reviews here and/or offers unhappy people refunds in exchange for editing the reviews. Josh told me on the phone he would be there whenever would be most convenient for me, which happened to be 8:00 on a Monday night. Quick repairs and GREAT customer service! We had a bedroom door locked with the key inside the room and we couldn't pick the lock to open it. I called this place as it was at the top of nearby listings in Yelp to ask if they can help. The person that answered the phone, Josh, told me, before I could ask about price, he'd send someone right away. I guess I was in a hurry and made the mistake of not stopping him and asking for an estimate. I didn't know at the time that, Josh, the owner of this business, was short-staffed so he referred my call to another locksmith who works in the area, which I didn't know at the time. Anyway, the locksmith he sent arrived in less than 30 minutes and he managed to force the door open using a combination of balloons and pushing the locking mechanism But then it was time for the bill and he surprised me by asking for my home insurance info. He claimed that if I provide it, then my insurance would totally cover this service so I'd get fully reimbursed. He then shocked me with a $244 bill and I ended up paying him thinking insurance would cover it anyway but I was wrong. I called my insurance, and they said this service was NOT exempt from their deductible so they ended up paying NOTHING. This is where Josh's excellent customer service shines: I called Josh and discussed this with him. I requested a partial refund to bring my total down to a more reasonable $150. Even though Josh, explained that he had delegated to a different business, he went the extra mile by communicating with the other locksmith on my behalf and getting them to provide me the refund. I made the mistake of calling this locksmith without first reading the reviews of his service. This man is a scammer, plain and simple. I was locked out of my home because the keypad lock on my front door stopped working. I called this company and they came out within 30-45 minutes. The contractor first had me sign the service agreement, under the pretense of liability for accessing my home. He ended up drilling 1 lock and replacing it, and assisting me with adjusting a couple misaligned doors in the house. All total the locksmith was at my home for just under an hour. Then he completed his invoice, which happened to have already have my signature on it. $400!! total for an hour's work. There was no working with them on the price, and he was rude when asked about the total cost. Their business is clearly to take advantage of people and then rip them off after the work has been completed. Also, their technician smelled genuinely terrible. Like he hasn't showered in a couple weeks and has subsisted on a diet of curry. Overall, this business is a scam, and whoever has reviewed them positively on yelp clearly hasn't used them before. I moved into a new house and called after seeing he had good reviews. I have 3 doors and I wanted to get the locks changed. The job ended up costing me $600 and I had no clue it was costing that much until it was time to pay. I even caught him trying to install a lock on an inside door that I didn't even ask him to do!! To make matters worse, I had to call him back out to finish the job because he didn't change the gold plates to silver. He showed up within 30 minutes of my calling. The fact that I didn't have to go somewhere and wait around while they worked was a bonus. One of the keys he cut would not program so he gave it to us as a spare that just locks and unlocks the car. We started working on a spare to our Toyota but ended up deciding to wait on it.
