I would like to review a rather unfortunate incident I had with this rather unprofessional company. I was trying to help a friend secure a bedroom unit; which is a rather long story. I called late at night to get the issue sorted out. A tech was sent, but the primary issue got resolved before he got there. There was also a secondary issue, which he was unable to help with. This would have all been fine, however how the tech handled the phone interaction to get payment sorted was unacceptable. First of all, he tried to claim that he had provided a service, which was not received. Then, he tried to insist that he was going to come back to help with the other issue, which was unasked for. And never was there any flexibility in regards to payment. He wanted to be paid now, then more later, then maybe a little after that. This is thievery. I am happy to pay for services received. If you don't provide any, understand that I will not be happy. However, this is an opportunity to work with a customer. Accepting a lower rate for your time or offering to return pro bono, would have both been amicable solutions. Even if your rates are firm, present this in a professional manner, no badgering or upselling works great, and a lot of groveling doesn't hurt either. Lastly, be very clear how you're going to process credit cards, I got the impression I was going to get jacked, but was luckily able to have my friend pay cash. Not good at all.... After this experience, my recommendation is to stay far away from these scammers. They have many nice reviews, but why take the risk? I believe we should judge a man by how he handles the worst in life, not just the best. read more

I lost my keys and got locked out of my car, I called so many different places to get quotes to get a key made with chip for my car and the cheapest deal I found was $190 and they couldn't even do it the same day. Joshua was very knowledgeable and did a good job making and programming keys for my F150. I had requested a price ahead of time so I knew what to expect. While he was doing the work I asked him about making a key for my Vette. My bad for not asking how much for one key, but when he was making the invoice and said $75 I was shocked. I could get the blank from Amazon for $10 bucks, so for him to charge $75 was ridiculous, there was no programming involved, just measuring a resistor which only requires a multi-meter. Over priced. I also had him make some spares for my house etc, and he also did a good job on those. Like I said, my bad for not asking for the price up front, bad on him for over charging me. read more

I got a key from this company 3ish weeks ago, the key's remote stopped working soon after. He wanted me to make the trip to his shop (remember a mobile locksmith) and i said that he needed to come to me because he said he'd replace or fix a key that isn't working for 6 months. He was very rude talking to me over text. He wanted me to mention that he doesn't make the trip for a broken battery but he can't know if that is the problem. read more

1. Tech did not have hardware needed. We had to go out and buy it ourselves for him to install. 2. They did not give quote before job. I was told "it was policy to give quote before job so my husband was probably not paying attention." Really? 3. Was completely shocked when they presented an invoice over $1000 for two homes that needed minor work. Some costs not even specified with a description. 4. Rude customer service over the phone when I compared them to the other locksmith we have used (who we were impressed with but was booked in the short time frame we needed). He put them down saying they used cheap hardware and then claimed not to have heard of them later in the conversation. 5. NEVER would I call on them again. read more

I had specific needs for this lock and he made sure everything fit correctly and let me test everything till it was just right. One Stop Shopping and Service with a Smile...is how I would describe my experience with Joshua's from General Mobile Locksmith. I needed a new key for our Dodge Truck, and two keys re-programmed (one for our Lexus and Jag) as well as several house/other keys. You can imagine my excitement in this task when my husband asked me to to take over our key issues. In my mind that meant at least 4 stops, one to each dealership and a key maker for general keys....and a ton of hours and $$$. I called Joshua...because I always check yelp first and his reviews are fabulous. I must admit I was a bit skeptical since he would not even give me a ball park quote on the phone, however, when he came all fears were wiped away clean. He showed up about an hour after i called (it wasn't an emergency and I had said that was fine). He re-programed my Lexus in about 15 minutes, made two dodge truck keys (gave us the option of the 10 year warrantied USA or other cheaper keys) and gave us a deal on two that worked perfectly, the house and other keys were taken care of. He spent considerable time working on the Jag but in the end he was concerned it would not reprogram successfully and leave with us without a working key. Again, he spent considerable time and didn't charge us anything. There was no "service" or "visit" fee, nothing extra for a mid-day saturday call, and all the prices were very reasonable (less than a dealership for sure) and it took about an hour or so for everything. I HIGHLY recommend Joshua if you need to get into your car, house, or save yourself time and money when facing multiple key tasks! read more

I locked the keys to my Corvette inside the car--something I thought was impossible to do (its not impossible if your keys are inside a golf bag). I was in Spicewood. Josh researched the key required, travelled all the way to Spicewood from Round Rock and had me running within 20 minutes of his arrival. Just moved here from out of state and wanted to change my locks on my new home. Joshua called me back within 5 minutes after I called. He changed out the deadbolt and knob on 2 outside doors. He was quick, very thorough and very reasonably priced. The plates didn't match exactly on the door frame since I had purchased a different brand than the original, so he had to do extra work.
