I brought in a broken crank for my casement window, searching for SOME way to put the knob back on (see photo). The clerk helpfully led me to some packages of window cranks, and said they were standard so it should fit. I bought two. When I got it home, it didn't fit -- the threads were wrong. I brought it back and the manager said you can't return a package that's opened. Nice. How would you know it didn't fit without opening it? read more

Ace Hardware - this is the window crank in two pieces. I was looking for some way to get the knob back on. - Hardware Stores Near Me - Saratoga, California

Clean Cozy, local owners to support Bought sandpaper But they have pies in a hardware store to buy! I took pics for your amusement!!! read more

This Ace Hardware is a little more run down compared to the other Ace Hardwares in the area, but the customer service is still awesome! They were extremely helpful when I needed to find certain things and it tends to be a little bit cheaper than the other hardware stores. They also sell an assortment of frozen pies!!! These are delicious and always a treat, but they do take an hour to bake. read more

Everyone is very helpful, this place is a longer drive from my house but I'll be com here for my hardware needs from now on! And they do Screen Repairs! read more

I had a very bad experience today at this store. I came in with a defective propane tank & was verified by a helpful employee. The manager argued that I didn't have purchased history & the tank was already half used... without checking the records. After several exchanges of words, he instructed the employee to give me a replacement. He was rude & his gesture to this employee was unacceptable. The employee tried to give me the replacement but the storage area was unorganized. So he went back to the manager. Unfortunately, the manager was yelling at him & I encountered a serious argument between them. It is so sad that this manager is treating his employees so badly in front of a customer in this day and & age..... read more

I came in with a simple question and one employee helped me great with no problem. when I go to check out this guy is saying the complete opposite of that his co employee just said to me. when i ask why he's saying something different then his other employee, he gets an attitude and says there's more then one size as I already grabbed the right size recommended by his coworker. he just got worse and more demeaning/ disrespectful from there. the unprofessionalism and blatant disrespect from the employee shown here would be the reason I will never recommend this location to ANYONE!! it seems this ONE employee NEEDS to be retrained on how to actually interact with the public in a appropriate and professional manner. as NONE was shown today! do not even waste your energy going to this location! read more

It's a nice small shop that has all the handyman essentials, but this place feels like a liquor shop from a 3rd world country upon entering. Once you enter, there's security footage in front of you, chicks to the right, pies to the left. I read online that Ace Hardware programs car keys. I came with my own key to have programmed and was told I needed to buy a car key from Ace Hardware to have it programmed. They asked for $280. Far from the $70-100 price range mentioned by other Ace Hardwares online to have mine programmed. I ended up going to a local locksmith that programmed it for $130. I'm still scratching my head over why they chose to lose business. Ace Hardware has the device to program the key and it costs them nothing other than 10 mins of labor for ~$100 of pure profit. =/ Store policies? Sir, this store has live chicks and sells pies. Don't tell me about Ace Hardware policies. On a positive note, I'm sure the workers are knowledgeable here and can help with home fixes. read more

I am impressed that this store carries the Pfister shower cartridge that Home Depot doesn't. In fact the Home Depot in Cupertino carries few shower cartridges. Harry(?) was very helpful answering all of my plumbing questions and he helped me finding the right replacement and tools for me. He even kept the credit cards that I lost for me when I was in a hurry. That is a store with friendly and experienced staff you can't find in a big store. read more

This place is awesome! Super nice folks that are very eager to assist you! The people are friendly and very helpful! The store selection of products is very wide for such a small location. I have always been able to find what I was looking for. From nuts and bolts to adhesives and pies. Yes the fruit pies are to die for! We have tried several varieties and have thoroughly enjoyed each one! Very delicious! You definitely get a great value for your dollar spent this store! The service and convenience is well worth coming here and their prices are very competitive when compared to the big box store down the road. I priced out an item such as miracle grow acid for plants. This store was less expensive than the big store down the road. I try to buy my hardware and other needs here whenever I can! The service, friendliness and convenience is well worth any price! read more

Unlike Home Depot, there are always people here ready to help. Customer service is the real reason to come. If you already know exactly what you need, Home Depot might save you a buck or two. But if you're still figuring things out, the staff here can guide you and save you a trip or two. It also feels more personal. I try to shop here as much as possible instead of going to Home Depot, to support the business. read more

I needed a brass-like hook for my hanging lamp. Saratoga was open until7 p.m. The Saratoga location had it. It is a quality hook made in Canada. The sales person was very kind and knowledgeable. She photographed it and sent the photo to my smart phone, allowing my husband and I to see it. When he went there, he said he was very impressed by her kindness. I am impressed with the quality of the goods. I am impressed by the professionalism of the salesperson! I will be shopping there in the future! read more

I just want to take a second to shout a 5 star thank you to the team at Ace hardware of Saratoga. I walked in with a seem to be impossible situation!! Many others would pass the problem on to a manager that was not there. Thanks to the team we were able to resolve it and made me a life time customer to Ace Hardware or Saratoga. I'm sorry I don't have the names of the staff because I was not thinking about writing a review!! RG of Saratoga read more

Pies in a hardware store? Tried the berry pie. It was amazing!! Great store, excellent service, and friendly knowledgeable associates. They always ask if you need help finding something. But again, the pies are off the charts. Best berry pie I've ever eaten! read more

Been there three times and never want to go back. The customer service is obnoxious and the tools are overpriced. First time I went there, I was looking for a torque wrench. One guy pulled out a 20-300 ft.-lb torque wrench. I didnt need that much and was looking for a wrench way less than that max tension. The guy started lecturing me the difference between a wrench and a torque wrench. Second time, i went to look for a battery charger. An assistant yelled about what I was searching for. That was weird. Third time, I was being stared at for a while. Later, I asked for a price check of a toolset. It was a bit overpriced, i declined and they gave me a death stare. This place is creepy. Home Depot is 8 minutes down the road. Go there instead. read more

I prefer Ace to HD and Lowe's any day. It's smaller and much easier to get help and they are almost always very helpful and courteous. A shower head emergency brought me here and I was in and out quickly which is exactly what I wanted. read more

We've been going here for the past 5 years for massive Christmas trees and the owner is so kind we still come to this ACE even though we moved out of Saratoga. We also bought a Weber slate grill and he was kind enough to help us assemble and remove the wheels so it fits into our trunk. Coming to this ACE feels like what it could be if we all lived in a small town. Genuine, kind and trustworthy. Thank you! read more

I came in to buy a battery for my car key remote. William did an excellent job of replacing the battery for me. I asked about battery operated lantern options for power outages. Remus walked me through the various options and explained the lumen/watt equivalents, brightness, batteries. I am very knowledgeable now what to buy to meet my needs. Excellent customer service from both father and son! Let's support our local neighborhood hardware business! read more

I was in dire need of ant killer and thank goodness for Ace! The owner was super nice and one of the attendants helped me find some ant killer for an outdoor ant hill that is terrorizing my garden. I really like the new larger space - it is well kept and organized. I'm really grateful for this location! read more

Excellent customer service!!! I couldn't be happier with RAMOS. He is super knowledgeable about plumbing and knew exactly how to fix my garbage disposal. (I thought we needed a new one). ACE had the jam buster wrench in stock to remedy my problem. Thank you, Ramos! This is the reason I shop locally -- you can't get this type of service elsewhere. :-) read more

Thanks so much for wasting my time. They have miss labeled items all over the website which show parts are in stock, when, in fact, they are not. the store owner seems more concerned about justifying why his store made a mistake instead of trying to fix the problem, I will never shop there again! read more

They do not have any pricing on ANY of their garden merchandise. I'm not sure about the rest of the store. I won't be going back until they put prices on items so I know what I'm paying. I also told the young man at the register to give this info to his manager. read more

They are a very knowledgeable and kind staff that helped me with a project. Great customer service.

Always fantastic service! The owner is very involved. I hightly recommend this business.

I bought a few tools I thought I needed for a project at ACE hardware last month (March 25th). I ended up not needing one of those tools, so today (April 29th) I finally got around to returning it. The store manager told me I was four days too late to return it, so now it's mine. No exceptions! The store is only about a mile from my house, so we go there a few times a month for hardware and plants. Not any more. Ace stores are individually owned, and the Ace store in Los Gatos is a lot more friendly, so I'll drive a few more miles to avoid the customer-unfriendly attitude in the Saratoga store. read more

I was recently in need of an 8' aluminum ladder. Ace Hardware had a better price than Lowe's, Home Depot, or even Amazon. I went to pick it up at the Argonaut Shopping Center in Saratoga and realized I couldn't safely get it home in my car. The store manager, Remus, kindly offered to drop it off on his way home from work. That's service above and beyond! Plus, it's good to support small local businesses. read more

We are so happy to have Ace nearby. I have been in several times and I have always found the help to be knowledgeable about the stock. So far, they have had everything I came in for. Once they only had one jar of Twinkle Copper Cleaner, but they got more for me by the next day. Be aware that this is one of their smaller stores. It is well-stocked but there is a small staff and the person working can not always leave his position at the register. Phoning for information does not always work as well here as it does in the larger stores. read more

I walked into this store Wednesday 5/15/2024 around 2 pm and was greeted by a working lady she asked if I needed any help finding anything I said yes told her what I was looking for she pointed me towards it and went to look as I made it down the aisle I noticed she was still standing still simply watching me and a few seconds later another customer asked for help and the worker said and I quote "I can't help you right now I need to watch him" I stood there in disbelief as an African American you can assume this got me extremely offended as I don't look like a criminal or have any ill intentions but she still had to judge me and think I'm up to no good. I asked if she was serious she said I knew what she meant. As she tried making multiple failed apologies she also refused to tell me her name saying she doesn't have a name? Well I asked another worker and they told me it was Victoria one of the store managers. Thank you Victoria for reminding me that racism is still alive clear as day. read more

Convenient location - but I'd rather drive to Los Gatos! The foremost reason is the bad manner and attitude of the staff - arrogant / brusque. Secondly, a drip system part I wanted was 2 for $3.50 versus $0.99 each at LG ACE - predatory pricing! Thirdly, the place is so packed with stuff that you can't find things. It may be a "family business" - but this family doesn't do it well. The Los Gatos store via 85 to LG Blvd / Bascom exit is a relatively quick trip to get better service, products and pricing. read more

shopped at this place for the first time. went to register with my purchases. the checker rang me up and immediately left the register to stroll outside, as the register finished computing. i ended up taking the receipt myself, after it came out of the machine. i think the guy might have been the owner. rude and basically an a**h***. a bad day? well, don't take it out on me. i didn't deserve it. i'll never go back to this store. maybe the customers who visit this Ace are ones who cannot make the drive 2 miles down the road to Home Depot. I don't know. read more

Ace Hardware - Hardware Stores Near Me - Saratoga, California

Rather than have a sale for various items I needed, I got a time check of "We are closing in 5 minutes." "Maybe we should turn out the lights." This is why people go to Lowe's or A big box store. I try to give smaller businesses my money. But so much for that here. read more

Went back again today. Old dude is still wearing the mask that protects him and not people around him. The vent in his black mask vents out of his mouth with no filtering. I'm a contractor in the area and come in here now and then to pick up a small part rather than drive down to Home Depot Cupertino. Thought I'd save time today, but instead ended up checking out for 15-20 minutes. My business credit card said approved, was told it didn't work because if it worked, a receipt would have printed out of the machine. Did this several times until I was told it actually did work the first time, then waited for them to refund/send me a receipt through email for the other times they had me swipe my card. Won't be returning here. read more
