I had a very bad experience today at this store. I came in with a defective propane tank & was verified by a helpful employee. The manager argued that I didn't have purchased history & the tank was already half used... without checking the records. After several exchanges of words, he instructed the employee to give me a replacement. He was rude & his gesture to this employee was unacceptable. The employee tried to give me the replacement but the storage area was unorganized. So he went back to the manager. Unfortunately, the manager was yelling at him & I encountered a serious argument between them. I came in with a simple question and one employee helped me great with no problem. when I go to check out this guy is saying the complete opposite of that his co employee just said to me. when i ask why he's saying something different then his other employee, he gets an attitude and says there's more then one size as I already grabbed the right size recommended by his coworker. he just got worse and more demeaning/ disrespectful from there. the unprofessionalism and blatant disrespect from the employee shown here would be the reason I will never recommend this location to ANYONE!! it seems this ONE employee NEEDS to be retrained on how to actually interact with the public in a appropriate and professional manner. as NONE was shown today! do not even waste your energy going to this location! read more

This Ace Hardware is a little more run down compared to the other Ace Hardwares in the area, but the customer service is still awesome! They were extremely helpful when I needed to find certain things and it tends to be a little bit cheaper than the other hardware stores. They also sell an assortment of frozen pies!!! These are delicious and always a treat, but they do take an hour to bake. read more

It's a nice small shop that has all the handyman essentials, but this place feels like a liquor shop from a 3rd world country upon entering. Once you enter, there's security footage in front of you, chicks to the right, pies to the left. I read online that Ace Hardware programs car keys. I came with my own key to have programmed and was told I needed to buy a car key from Ace Hardware to have it programmed. They asked for $280. Far from the $70-100 price range mentioned by other Ace Hardwares online to have mine programmed. I ended up going to a local locksmith that programmed it for $130. I'm still scratching my head over why they chose to lose business. Ace Hardware has the device to program the key and it costs them nothing other than 10 mins of labor for ~$100 of pure profit. =/ Store policies? Sir, this store has live chicks and sells pies. Don't tell me about Ace Hardware policies. On a positive note, I'm sure the workers are knowledgeable here and can help with home fixes. read more

I am impressed that this store carries the Pfister shower cartridge that Home Depot doesn't. In fact the Home Depot in Cupertino carries few shower cartridges. Harry(?) was very helpful answering all of my plumbing questions and he helped me finding the right replacement and tools for me. He even kept the credit cards that I lost for me when I was in a hurry. That is a store with friendly and experienced staff you can't find in a big store. read more

This place is awesome! Super nice folks that are very eager to assist you! The people are friendly and very helpful! The store selection of products is very wide for such a small location. I have always been able to find what I was looking for. From nuts and bolts to adhesives and pies. Yes the fruit pies are to die for! We have tried several varieties and have thoroughly enjoyed each one! Very delicious! You definitely get a great value for your dollar spent this store! The service and convenience is well worth coming here and their prices are very competitive when compared to the big box store down the road. I priced out an item such as miracle grow acid for plants. This store was less expensive than the big store down the road. I try to buy my hardware and other needs here whenever I can! I needed a brass-like hook for my hanging lamp. Saratoga was open until7 p.m. The Saratoga location had it. It is a quality hook made in Canada. The sales person was very kind and knowledgeable. She photographed it and sent the photo to my smart phone, allowing my husband and I to see it. When he went there, he said he was very impressed by her kindness. We've been going here for the past 5 years for massive Christmas trees and the owner is so kind we still come to this ACE even though we moved out of Saratoga. We also bought a Weber slate grill and he was kind enough to help us assemble and remove the wheels so it fits into our trunk. Been there three times and never want to go back. The customer service is obnoxious and the tools are overpriced. First time I went there, I was looking for a torque wrench. One guy pulled out a 20-300 ft.-lb torque wrench. I didnt need that much and was looking for a wrench way less than that max tension. The guy started lecturing me the difference between a wrench and a torque wrench. Second time, i went to look for a battery charger. An assistant yelled about what I was searching for. That was weird. Third time, I was being stared at for a while. Later, I asked for a price check of a toolset. It was a bit overpriced, i declined and they gave me a death stare. This place is creepy. Home Depot is 8 minutes down the road. Go there instead. read more

I bought a few tools I thought I needed for a project at ACE hardware last month (March 25th). I ended up not needing one of those tools, so today (April 29th) I finally got around to returning it. The store manager told me I was four days too late to return it, so now it's mine. No exceptions! The store is only about a mile from my house, so we go there a few times a month for hardware and plants. Not any more. Ace stores are individually owned, and the Ace store in Los Gatos is a lot more friendly, so I'll drive a few more miles to avoid the customer-unfriendly attitude in the Saratoga store. read more

I went to pick it up at the Argonaut Shopping Center in Saratoga and realized I couldn't safely get it home in my car. I walked into this store Wednesday 5/15/2024 around 2 pm and was greeted by a working lady she asked if I needed any help finding anything I said yes told her what I was looking for she pointed me towards it and went to look as I made it down the aisle I noticed she was still standing still simply watching me and a few seconds later another customer asked for help and the worker said and I quote "I can't help you right now I need to watch him" I stood there in disbelief as an African American you can assume this got me extremely offended as I don't look like a criminal or have any ill intentions but she still had to judge me and think I'm up to no good. I asked if she was serious she said I knew what she meant. As she tried making multiple failed apologies she also refused to tell me her name saying she doesn't have a name? We are so happy to have Ace nearby. I have been in several times and I have always found the help to be knowledgeable about the stock. So far, they have had everything I came in for. Once they only had one jar of Twinkle Copper Cleaner, but they got more for me by the next day. Be aware that this is one of their smaller stores. It is well-stocked but there is a small staff and the person working can not always leave his position at the register. Phoning for information does not always work as well here as it does in the larger stores. read more

Secondly, a drip system part I wanted was 2 for $3.50 versus $0.99 each at LG ACE - predatory pricing! Thirdly, the place is so packed with stuff that you can't find things. It may be a "family business" - but this family doesn't do it well. I'm a contractor in the area and come in here now and then to pick up a small part rather than drive down to Home Depot Cupertino. Thought I'd save time today, but instead ended up checking out for 15-20 minutes. My business credit card said approved, was told it didn't work because if it worked, a receipt would have printed out of the machine. Did this several times until I was told it actually did work the first time, then waited for them to refund/send me a receipt through email for the other times they had me swipe my card.
