Service was great. Very busy in the mornings as contractors are picking up their supplies for the day, but afternoons seem to be less busy. Had 2 paint matches - they did a great job. I'll definitely buy future paint from this location. read more

The store layout appeared in disarray. The front entry was not very obvious. Paint swatch cards were all over the counter and popular colors were not in stock. The manager was mostly in the back and the workers were chatting with each other about things unrelated to paint. I asked where the colors were and was pointed to a corner of the store. I went over to browse for awhile, and then had to wave employees down to ask questions. The associate who "helped" me was unable to answer most of my basic questions about paint, such as the lines available, and differences between their products. I was also informed of a lower price, but actually paid a higher amount after the "discount" that was given. I came here because they had more color choices, but I will probably choose a different location or go to Sherwin Williams down the street for future projects. read more

The store is clean, with an uncluttered look. The staff, especially the manager, Rob Adams, were very helpful. Rather than sell me a new can of paint, Rob invited me to return with the old can to see whether the paint was still good. It turns out that it was. read more

We tried a couple of other Benjamin Moore stores to match some paint and they could never get it right. We decided to try South Bay Paints. We brought in a paint chip and Nick was able to match it PERFECTLY. We appreciate his patience and thorough attention to detail. We have visited this store several times and the other staff members have also been helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. We have found a store that cares about what they are selling. read more

South Bay Paints is my go to store for picking a new color and getting consulting help. Been here couple of times and every time I'm left impressed by how helpful the associates are and what a keen eye they have for nuances of the colors and they always come up with great recommendations. This time I went to the store for wood stains. Nick was super helpful. He went above and beyond and not only educated me on the options but also offered to paint some swatches for free so I could take home and compare. We were at closing time and in spite of that Nick was very patient and did not hurry us. He prepped the wooden piece we took, stained multiple samples and even went and gave it the top coat so we get the actual feel. Superlative customer service. I live in south san jose. There are other stores closer to home, but South Bay Paints and their associates make my trip worth it, each and every time. read more

2 years ago we spruced up our house using Behr Premium paint purchased through Home Depot, Behr paint is great and extremely well priced when painting your entire 1,500 square foot castle. For the past two years all the so called paint experts have strongly recommended Benjamin Moore paint. Since we are only doing two bathrooms I said what the heck, $38 per gallon vs. $26 for Behr, not a terrible premium for only 2 gallons. We went with the 186 (Harvest Time) from the Benjamin Moor classic collection, have to say the color is awesome. I do feel this is a better quality paint than Behr and their Kitchen and Bath (semi-gloss) finish is definitely superior. The Avenue is great, it has the feel of a classy interior design store but yet they have a full fledged Benjamin Moore paint mixing machine, very cool. There is usually no wait vs. the zoo like atmosphere at the Home Depot paint counter. 4 stars selfishly because I received a bit of a cold reaction from a junior sales person when I brought my 16 month old daughter who decided to rearrange the store :). read more

FIRST CLASS SERVICE!!! I just got off the phone with Andy at South Bay Paints in Campbell after he was referred to me as an expert on wood stains. In a nutshell, Andy proved to be remarkably informed, helpful and honest. His efforts helped me solve a nagging issue of finding the best possible solution to achieve my goals of finding a durable product that looks great, is easy to apply and easy to maintain. Thank you Andy!!!! read more

Excellent service as always!!! Walked into the busy store and was greeted and help by Christy who went above and beyond. I picked up the last two gallons of a clear coat from Aborcoat and found out it was discontinued. Christy took my number and said she'll give call if she found any and within minutes from leaving the store she called me. She called a competitor paint company store and found the additional gallons I was looking for. Thank you!!! read more

We love this store. The paint is always ready promptly after an order. Of course, the paint quality is excellent. If we had more time to paint, we'd be here every week. read more

Painting the entire interior of a house is a daunting task but everyone at Daycor made it a much easier experience. I have painted quite a few rooms in the past but never an entire house so I had tons of questions and a lot of decisions to make...and a lot to learn but I really felt at ease in here. Everyone here was so great- they were super patient with me and helped me to figure out colors, sheens, supplies and the appropriate quantity of paint. I think it is really important to support locally run businesses and everyone here solidified that even more for me. You would be hard pressed to get that kind of time, help and patience at a larger store. I don't live in Los Gatos (I was just staying there temporarily) but I wouldn't think twice to drive a little bit further to support this shop. While Benjamin Moore may be a bit pricier than other paints, they colors are beautiful and they go on so nicely, definitely worth the extra money. Particularly for darker colors. I painted one room Kendall Charcoal in the Aura Matte finish and I have gotten so many compliments...the color is just super rich and beautiful on the wall. I would definitely recommend Daycor for your next painting project! read more

They had the wood stain I needed (Cetol SRD RE) and kindly helped me get all the stuff in the car since I was holding my daughter. Great service and selection. read more

Tricky pricing. Stated 20% off aka "Contractor Pricing" but that is against retail which nobody charges, and guess what....Ace hard was down the street is beating them on prices easily any day for Benjamin Moore. Buyer beware. I'd give it two stars but the guy behind the counter was friendly. read more

This is a great paint store that sells primarily Benjamin Moore paints, but they can match almost any color. There is plenty of personalized service in helping to decide on which color to choose and they are good about giving samples. There is plenty of parking, and great customer service. Loved it and will definitely be coming back! read more

The Avenue has re-opened. It's under new ownership and the store has been remodeled. It looks great and I recieved wonderful service during my visit. Not all the same services (no fabric or design service), but the same great Benjamin Moore paint! The new owner has been with the same paint company (Ben Moore) for many years and really knows his stuff. Welcome back to town "Avenue". I did notice a name change - Now called Daycor at the Avenue. read more

Very disappointed in what has become of this company. In 2011, I became their customer purchasing paint for two large rooms. They told me that they kept a data base and would keep track of the paint that I purchased. They also said they were able to do color matching. Well I chose 4 of their paint colors and painted two large rooms with lighter ceilings. Their paint is more expensive as you can get the same elsewhere for cheaper (orchard supply), but I wanted the customer service. Just recently, I had a kitchen water leak that damaged a ceiling below and had to be retaped/textured. I called them to order the same paint I had purchased from them. They told me, the paints have changed and I couldn't get Matt Finish any longer, so it may not have the same sheen. I said ok, what paint replaced the Matt Finish, could we use that. She said I would have to bring the remaining can in and they could then figure it out. So I did, I brought the remainder of the can I had into their shop which had the color formula on the top of the can, an hour drive for me. She made me the paint, then when testing the match, she said the colors didn't match, it must be a problem with the machine or the formula. She would have to have the owner color match it and I would need to come back another day. So I waited until they called me and told me the paint was ready. I drove another hour into their shop and the person that waited on me said that it didn't really match anything she had, so she just matched it to the paint sample that was closest. In other words, they don't match the paint color that you bring them, they just choose something close and use the formula for that paint. She also said that they didn't have the data base that they had when I bought my paints, so she couldn't tell the number/name of the color. I noticed it was not on the label of the can, just the formula. I was so stunned, and up against a wall because my home is for sale, I paid for the paint $58, thinking I would just paint the whole ceiling, what a bummer but doable. Got the paint home and the color is so awful that it was a total waste. Two trips of 50 miles and $58 spent for nothing. Don't trust these people to do anything they say they can. So much for paying more for customer service. read more

Daycor is wonderful! It's like having an interior designer right there to help you pick out paints for your home. They really know their paints at daycor. It may be a little more expensive but with so much help, knowledge, and quality, you only paint once with no mistakes. Therefore in the long run, I've saved money and time with them than anywhere else! I won't buy paint from anyone else!! read more
