I walk in, ask for a particular measuring tool, the cranky guy behind the counter says we don't have any. I look around, and IN the counter glass right below him is that exact item. OK, whatever, I need it so I get it and some accessories. Get home, the accessories don't fit at all. I jury rigged it all together to it would work for me, but I will not go there. And no, their prices are not lower than Amazon... I could have gotten the similar item from Amazon for cheaper as I just now checked Amazon to my chagrin, but not same hour of course. On the plus side they do have some good tools, a bunch of Starret tools and Mitutoyo gauges... so they do have some quality for real tools there. Just know what you want since they are loathe to fill in your gaps of knowledge. read more

Disappointing, excited to see a shop closeby, but prices are way too jacked up. Kreg Jigs at home depot are $39.99. They sell it for $59.99 for the same exact item. Same goes with a lot of items in the shop. Better go to home depot or harbor freight to get the same good quality tools. read more

I needed an 18M x 1.5 die to re-thread my 02 sensor, car on jacks, can't wait to get it online. Called everywhere, no luck. Odd since auto parts stores sell taps the same size to clear the threads on the exhaust pipe which is steel (and unlikely to get damaged), but not the die to clear the thread on the sensor which are aluminum. Ace, OSH, O Rielly, Autozone...nope. Someone finally recommended these guys. The only place around that had it. I called, they confirmed they had it, and waiting for me at the counter when I got there. Saved me $100+ for a new sensor. And was only $8. Perfect! read more

This store is a gem. They carry a wide array of specialty tools that are higher quality than you find at Home Depot. So, don't go in there comparison shopping their $150 Stabila level against a DeWalt or Irwin; instead count your blessings you can pop into a neighborhood store for a calibrated German-made level that is without peers. read more

I haven't been in this tool store for 18 years. I almost forgot what a real tool store was like! They had exactly what I needed but couldn't find anywhere (including Amazon). The guy that I dealt with was pleasant and professional. It's refreshing to know places like this still exist in Santa Clara. Price Range: You get what you pay for. read more

Their service sucked and it's obvious that they don't really care! They took my router apart and gave it back without reassembling it (something he claimed takes 10 min to do). My router (1617ESV) stopped working so I research the Bosch website who listed "Nu-Way Tool Supply" as a "Rapid Repair" location. When I walked into the store the older man ignored me, so I waited for the younger person who was on the phone. Eventually the older man decided to help me and said they could fix the router, but would have to look at what the problem was before giving me an estimate. I was about to leave when the younger person decided to assist, so he took my contact details. I was expecting a call, but two days later decided to call and find out what was wrong. Speaking to the older person he said it was the switch and they have ordered a replacement switch, but he did know how long it would take as they were on back order. One week later I decided to call again and he said still waiting. When I asked how long it would take he said "I don't know". 2 weeks I called again and the same person said "I don't know". When asking for an estimated time he still said I don't know, so now I'm thinking will they ever fix the router. I asked would it be better for me to come and collect the router and take it somewhere else and he said if I wanted to I can. I drove over to collect the router and the same person hand me the disassembled router with the various part, so I asked him what should I do with this. He replies, pay me $35 and I'll put it back together for you. So I started fiddling to see if I can put it together and he walks away (very annoyed) saying "oh, you can fix it yourself". Then we have a discussion about how he needs to improve his customer service and that I plan on writing a review on the internet. He shows some interest in helping and claims that it costs $65 to take-apart and re-assemble the unit, to which I said "you just told me $35". He then went on how they're not really approved by Bosch and don't have an agreement with Bosch, which now makes sense why, but he never made this clear when I dropped the router off. Long story short, I would not support these guys even if they are a family business and would rather pay a little more to get the additional benefit of good service. read more

The guys in the store can sometimes be a little cranky, but if you need a particular tool and don't have the time for an online order, these guys are your best bet. The have never not had what I needed. read more

I've only had good experiences with his store, they have the highest quality tools only - from Taiwan, Germany etc. I recently went to buy some extremely fine wire gauge drill bits to clean one of our desoldering tools and the proprietor was really helpful, dug through bags of under-counter stock and split a very expensive multi-bit package so I could buy only the size I needed. Brilliant service. I can see how people might be put off a little by the specialist nature of the products here if you don't know what you want or what you want to achieve because this is a tool shop, not a contractor or project consultant. As for rebates and pricing I thought everyone knew those Lowes/Home Depot and on-line prices bear no relation to the usual sales channels and wholesale price and the fact that those special promotions are not applicable to a place like this - those same items might be lying on the shelf for years, waiting for the time when you need it urgently to complete a project. 25% above the big box stores for quality pneumatic tools for example is to be expected. read more

This is a genuine family owned business. These days this kind of family business is hard to find as corporations have taken over and no one takes the time to listen to the consumers. They have a great selection and can even help you repair your tools. This guy is a total shark. I went in there with a coworker to purchase some tools for the company I work for. I watched as the store owner behind the counter added his own price to the items I was purchasing. I am not sure if he knew that I was watching, but he would increase the price by more than three times! When I questioned him on this, he smirked and stated how good the quality was. Now we are talking tools that would typically cost about 2 to 3 dollars apiece at Home Depot and this guy was charging almost $12!! When I returned a week later to get one broken part replaced, he insisted on a receipt even though he recognized me and knew exactly what I purchased. Never again will I visit this price gouging shark. He is dishonest and his tools are no better than anything sold by HD or your local hardware store. If you have time, look up the part online and compare to his prices........ you'll be disgusted. read more
