Was excited to find a lumberyard open on weekends that wasn't Home Depot. Got there, and the people were very friendly and helpful for the basics, but I wouldn't go there to ask actual technical questions about wood or building. I did going expecting it would have a better selection of lumber at better prices than Home Depot. Unfortunately, that was not the case. They had a lot of wood suitable for construction but not for woodworking. They really had only one type of plywood with any kind of nice surface. Mostly have OSB, CDX, and only one type with a sanded finish. And that was almost $10 more per sheet than what I could get at Home Depot. No Birch or other quality plywood ether. I did purchase about 4 sheets just to check them and then went to Home Depot and got the remaining 11 sheets I needed. It was less expensive and there was significantly more choice for plywood other than OSB, CDS, etc. read more

Every time I come to this awful place to pick up goods, it feels like torture. The front desk is crowded with people, but they are all busy with their own tasks or chatting among themselves. No one bothers to look up at the customers waiting in line to pick up their orders. You just stand there like an idiot until they possibly run out of things to do, finally glance at the queue, and reluctantly show their mercy by calling you over to ask what you need. The store itself is well stocked and organized. But the people that work there... there are so many people there. But, hardly any of them are particularly interested in helping anyone. I counted 12 employees on 8/7 at 4pm - those are just the ones I saw. They outnumbered the customers. It still took me half an hour to be told that they couldn't give me a timeline for when an item would be there if I needed to special order it. I'm trying to buy 4 door slabs and a bypass track. Not super hard. The first time I came, they told me they had no wooden doors in the size I needed (24x80) and would not recommend buying anything other than wood doors if I needed to trim. Pushed me to custom order. 2nd time I came, I found wooden door slabs in the size I needed and was told they were pretty much always in stock. We were told they normally stocked the 8ft. bypass track we needed but were out. No idea when they'd come back in. Leave our number and they'd call. They never called. 3rd time I came in, they still have the doors and I go to purchase for the contractors to pick up. They have the 8ft. bypass track. I grab it with the intention to purchase and take but leave the doors for the contractor. I wait for a while at the counter with 2 guys sitting at little cubbies who did their best to ignore me. A man (Kvon?) comes over and he's clearly the only person working but scrambling to deal with a massive flooring return. He tells me that bypass frame won't work with the doors I want, despite being previously told it would. He asks a woman to help me and she looks about as excited as little kid on picture day. She tells me I will need to special order a bypass track. How long will it take to arrive? ‍ What's the difference between the steel and aluminum - would one or the other work better with the doors? ‍ She was as helpful as she was enthusiastic. I asked a different person if they sold wood bleach and he looked at me like I was speaking a different language and sent me in the direction of grouts and concrete patching materials. I'm not sure why they have so many people working here if none of them know anything or are interested in answering basic questions or returning phone calls. Seems like they just need a handful of people to stock and run the registers based on the inability to answer even simple questions about what they sell and when things might arrive. read more

Is a rough sales experience. The product is good. But the process of buying things could use some consultants. Sales velocity is severely limited by archaic sales methods. Custom orders are a sh*t show. Wasted two weeks waiting for a quote that never came, even after numerous calls and confirmations that 'the quote will be emailed today'. Renn was the person 'handling' this. I ended up ordering from another place cause this is a dead end. read more

Went on a Friday night and the place was a ghost town and there were 2-3 other customers in the whole store. The employees outnumbered the customers 3 to 1 but were adamant about refusing to help. The culture of actively not helping the customer and shrugging off inquiries for products makes it obvious that there is no clear leadership or expectation of customer service or even customer interaction. The one bright spot was Daniel, who actually looked up the product and said it could be one or two places. IT was in neither place and when i asked employees that were aimlessly walking around or chit-chatting in circles none could be bothered to help me. Maybe these people are great interviewers and then turn into something else but I will never go hack. I loved this place when it was HD Supply but I would not step foot in there again. Plus side- they had a nice selection of doors but there were a lot of aisles with trash in them like empty soda drinks and rusty discarded sinks. New white doors had dirty streaks on them. This space will be up for lease in about 2 years if they keep going with the nasty attitudes and aisles. read more

Lumber selection: 4 stars Customer service: 1 star This is like a self-service Home Depot / Lowe's. Their lumber selection is a little bit better than Home Depot but their selection for everything else is less. By self-service, I mean if you want lumber, you must drive your vehicle inside the warehouse, load up your car yourself, they will write up an invoice, and then you walk to the building next door to pay. If you need to return any lumber, you must get them to give you an invoice slip, you drive into the warehouse, off load your lumber and then walk to the next building to get your money back. Prices are mostly on par with Home Depot but HD Supply might have more in stock. The customer service is non-existence. They have people sitting up front but they aren't helpful. They offer trailer rentals. Very convenient to pick up on-site if you need to buy big items but you pay for that convenience. We found it much cheaper to pick up a trailer from U-Haul not that far away. I personally rather shop at Home Depot or Lowe's and only go to HD Supply if the other stores are out of stock for what I want. On a positive note, they are much less busy than Home Depot or Lowe's. read more

If I can give them -100, I would. They left a pallet at my house and did not pick it up for 8 months. I called three times, talked to three different people, Christopher, TJ and another guy, they all promised to have the thing picked up asap and TJ even told me it would be picked up on the same day. Never happened even though I told them that pallet took up the space that my construction workers need to work on. TJ put my husband on hold for 30 min. We used another phone to call, he picked it up immediately, WHT? then when my husband told him he needed to make arrangement to get it ASAP, he hung up on my husband, This guy is an ass, he has such an attitude problem. The warehouse is also unorganized, when we walked around the warehouse and asked where xx was, they either showed us the wrong location or acted like they did not know. Terrible overall experience and customer service was extremely rude. I made a purchased ahead of time for two patio doors but when I attempted to pick up the product I was told that they had sold out of that product and it was my fault for not picking it up right away. The worker then explained how it was the company's policy to sell all their product regardless of people's pre-orders. However, while making the purchases no one bothered to even mention this policy to me, which honestly would have been helpful information to know at the time. Additionally, while making the purchase the workers even reassured me that the product would be in stock when I go to pick it up. Overall, an extremely frustrating experience, and the least they could have done is inform their customers that purchases ahead of time does not mean that the product will be available for them. read more

I just purchased a home so, like many other weekend warriors, I'm turning to 'doing it myself'. So, after receiving many HD Supply fliers as part of my weekly junk mail, I decided to drop by their Santa Clara store to see what all the fuss is about. Could this place be better than Lowes? Home Depot? Orchard? The short answer is, no. Not even close. They have lots of stuff but it seemed very disorganized in terms you being able to find what it is you're looking for. Also, if you're expecting store workers to be walking around answering questions, don't hold you're breath because they're not coming. Strictly from a customer service point of view, you'll be really disappointed. Now, if you're a general contractor and already know what you need and where it's at, this place may perfectly fit your needs. But for all us weekend/part-time/wannabe do-it-yourselfers, this place ain't for us. Stick to what you know. read more

Hello, I would have put 0 stars but it would not let me so i had to put at least one. I noticed that when I get an order delivered, I get a survey. If the deliver is returned without my knowledge, I do not get a survey. Well, here is my survey any way. I would not recommend HD Supply to anyone because for the fact that I never know when I am really getting my delivery despite of the date on the conformation form at the end of check out. There is not a special instruction at check out where I can leave instructions for the driver. I call customer service just minutes after placing the order to give special instructions and its too late the order is already been received. I also can not order doors, window coverings, screens and such that need special sizes online. When the driver gets to the property the driver NEVER, calls anyone that they are there. It has been several days and I still have not received my deliver so I call about it and guess what the DRIVER RETURNED my delivery that I have been waiting two weeks for. I have had my orders returned several different times and several days will go by before I decided I better call and see where my stuff is. I NEVER receive a call about this and frankly I think your service is in the tank. I will be ordering most of mu supplies for AZ Partsmaster and Lowes at least the will text me my delivery is the next stop or stop number 4, they will call me 30min before they get to the property and they call when they are on property. they will even go as far as getting the key out of the lock box to put it in my shop for us. HD will drop it at the sidewalk and we have to take it to the shop. Not only that but they have lumber and drywall and other supplies you don't carry anyway. i will still use HD but not for many things. I have multiple properties that have an HD Supply account and not once in the past 3 years have, I heard from any sales rep not even an email from them. Ordered a door in June. It was never delivered so I cancelled the order. Then, four months later, my credit card was charged for the door. After two months, countless phone calls, emails, and broken promises - I STILL do not have the refund I requested. Every single time I call I am promised the refund will arrive "within 5-10"days. I have been promised that so often over the past two months I have lost count. Their last promise was that the refund would arrive "within 24-48 hours." It has now been 96 hours ---- still no refund. We were there only looking for a replacement window for our project home and when we couldn't find that exact style window we were looking for (turns out, it was installed wrong in the first place) we almost left.
