Their office is smaller and less busy than the parent company KZ Kitchen stores so we got more individual attention and felt less rushed. From measurements to modeling/design to cabinet delivery, we felt very taken care of and the prices were great for the quality. We looked at the quality of cabinets in the price range we wanted and nobody beat KZ for the combination of quality, pricing and service. We bought our granite counter tops from them too and were able to pick out the slab in the warehouse, so we got just what we wanted at a fraction of the price at Home depot for similar stone. The install team was efficient and competent, The whole install including cabinets and granite was done in one day. We had some small issues after install, but they fixed them without complaint and quickly. Ask for Ronnie Lo in the San Jose store on 1st st. She is patient and worked so well with us as we chose design, cabinets to fit our space, and made recommendations. read more

I wish I had read reviews about this company before I made the purchase. Bad decisions!! We bought cabinets and granite countertops for our brand new kitchen, total worth over $10K. First of all, they messed up the under-the-sink cabinet. I have an apron sink, but they delivered a cabinet for drop-in sinks, and we had to go to the warehouse and exchange for ourselves. Secondly, and more frustrating is the granite countertop, I bought Kashmir WHITE stones, which is very appealing in their Brokaw showroom, creamy white color with minimal marbling. But what we received is BEIGE-RED colored stone with ink-stain-like patterns, VERY VERY VERY disappointing. I had my contractors pick the stones up from warehouse on Friday, and I found out this problem on Saturday morning while the installation is already half way done. So I can not return them for a refund, and if I ask my contractors to remove the installed ones and install new ones, it would double the time and money, which I have absolutely no obligation to pay. I tried to get some discount and live with it, but the store manager Jennifer was rude and unprofessional over the phone, she tried to blame it all on me, and said they can only offer me $160 discount. I can not accept that and wanted to talk to her boss --- the boss is out of town, she said. Of course, how can the boss be in town at such moments?! I wanted to give 0 star for the business, but I decided to give one star because of Ronnie, the sales person, who was trying to help me as much as she can, I wish she was the manager. read more

STAY AWAY!!!!! Horrible customer service, the techs aren't prepared and are very hard to understand. The store: We ordered a whole kitchen cabinet remodel (paid a 50% deposit) and hired someone else to do the demolition. The demolition went great and the day KZ Kitchen were supposed to do the install, two people came unprepared and didn't know what parts they were supposed to pick up from the warehouse. Left for 3 hours and came back with cabinets that were all banged up and scratched. Told us we had to redo all the plumbing and asked for extra cash up front. That day we called the office and no one got back to us until the next day. Then, the day after that we tried to exchange the cabinets and drove to their office and they said they can't exchange them! Two days delayed without a kitchen and we had to cancel the whole order. We asked for our deposit back and they ran the card, but still haven't gotten the money back. read more

Low quality Chinese imported hardware, low end craftsmanship on granite materials, and not the lowest price. Better off going to Lowes or HD to be sure you have a warranty and can make returns. You will simply not save money by going here. Lesson Learned, I'll never go for bargain materials for my home. Also, bad customer service, Kevin was dishonest with me, did not accept my return, and kept me waiting for over a half hour when he knew he would not accept the return. He even waited on 3 different customers while I waited, and I had to politely interrupt to ask him to take care of me. He then said that he would not accept it. There are multiple KZs so this review is for this specific location. Ok, #1- they don't share computer files so don't get your dream kitchen drawn here and then your contractor normally works with the Saratoga location. That would be frustrating. The upswing is that the cabinets and demo kitchens are nice. The downswing is the horrible, absolutely HORRIBLE customer service. I came in just after lunch hour on a Thursday. I was the ONLY potential customer and no one acknowledged me or asked if they could help me. On my way out is when I asked questions about designs and they were having a demo kitchen torn down during that time and the lady didn't move away from her desk so she could hear better or anything. I totally wouldn't go back here. I was even dressed in nice work clothes so I don't know if they were snubbing me because I'm not Asian. Which I hate to even think that, it makes me sad but it really seemed that way :( read more

During renovation of our house, we decided to redo our kitchen cabinets. we had made the worst choice by picking kz kitchen. Here's why... 1. horrible design and installation experience - the cabinets are in okay quality (some of them chip easily) BUT the design is so whacked out. 2. the measurement was completely screwed up even after they send "professional" installers to do the measuring at our home 3. the installer had to come back at least 7 times to 're-finish' the job after we see more and more imperfections post-install. A 3 day job dragged to 3 months in total since it was hard to get the installer to come back if you must go here (I don't know why you would in the first place..) 1. get a design elsewhere first 2. triple check the design and measurements yourself! 3. do not get it installed by their 'professional' installers!!!! they just rush through the work and even if they see something wrong, they won't do anything about it until you see it and point it out to them read more

My husband and I bought our kitchen cabinets here when we remodeled the house we bought in May of 2011. It was a generally positive experience. We were able to see the final layout of the cabinets we wanted and some semi-realistic photo rendering to get an idea of what the finished product would look like. I recommend that you go in with your desired overall measurements written down. There aren't a TON of designs to pick from, but Betty (I think that was her name) was very helpful in making recommendations and configuring the cabinets to fit our space. In terms of delivery, they told us the cabinets would be ready on a certain date and our contractor picked them up. As far as I know, there were no issues. Tip - don't buy the "soft close" bumpers for cabinet doors. The drawer ones work great because they're built right into the sliding mechanism, but the ones on the doors are a separate installation. The problem is that only about 80% of them worked at the beginning, and over time it's dropped to about 60%. We always said we would go back and exchange the faulty ones for ones that work, but we never got around to it. They're only a few dollars each, but they don't work well. Just get in the habit of closing the cabinet doors softly. read more

I see all the negative reviews and I have to say I had a positive experience. I lived/worked in Asia for 5 years so know how Asians do business and it was perfectly acceptable in that culture. They have rules, when you don't follow the rules it gets difficult. Some rules are stupid yes but they are trained to follow rules. Efficient. I bought granite, quartz countertops, metal kitchen sink and kitchen faucet. I gave my contractor the pickup paperwork and he promptly lost one so i had to get involved, drive down, reprint / fax new copy to warehouse. It was a pain but thats how it works and I understand that. If you don't follow the instructions I say its your own fault. Customer service - I worked with Lance who was great. I called and spoke to a woman at the store and she didn't understand what I wanted so i waited for Lance to return and called back. Prices on countertops and some fixtures are excellent. Appliances not so much. Overall I'm happy with the product but did opt for a different company for install. If you aren't able to manage the contractors on install then you probably should go to Lowes / HDepot and pay high prices to be handheld. read more

Omg! The first time I came here, I had to wait 40 minutes for my appointment. When Ronnie was free, she was rushing me the entire time. I asked her what options I had for storage, and she got upset. I wanted to design my kitchen to my liking, not hers. The second time I came, I called beforehand and told her that my previous appointment was rushed, and I need her to let me design it with her. She apologized and told me she was available at that moment. I go in, and find her tending to other customers. After 15 minutes of waiting, I asked her if she had time. She said that she was almost done. As I walked away, she and the customers began speaking Chinese and laughing. I waited 10 more minutes and finally left. I have an infant and don't have the luxury of waiting around until it's a good time for her. The price of the cabinets isn't worth the horrendous service. They act as if though they're giving you the cabinets as a gift. If you value your time, don't come here. I wasted so much time and gas coming here. There are other options. read more

I am a general contractor in the San Jose Area. I have purchased many kitchens from KZ. The cabinets are economical to buy and work really well in the jobs that I have used them for. I like the natural Maple, White and off White cabinets as far as finishes go. I work with Ronnie at the First Street location and I would like to emphasize that she has given me very good service in getting the design work, ordering and delivery done. She is very helpful and very cheerful which makes the process much more enjoyable. I usually have many revisions per job and she is always happy to help. I recommend using KZ for modular cabinets. read more

I recently had the pleasure of working with Ronnie at KZ. Ronnie was great! She was able to take the measurements my contractor provided me and design our kitchen cabinet layout quickly and easily using her program and provide me with 3D layouts of how the kitchen would look. She was also very accommodating as we changed our minds multiple times in regards to layout. Previously, I had tried to design this on my own using Ikea's program. Big mistake as it was very time consuming. Once the design was finalized I placed my order on a Friday and we picked up the cabinets the following Wednesday. Couple Tips: Have your kitchen measurements ready to go when you sit down. Be patient. When working with Ronnie she gives you her undivided attention. Don't be rude and try to interrupt her if she already has someone at her desk. Bring her Starbucks Green Tea lemonades. read more

I visited the warehouse on Montague expressway to decide on the piece to buy, but I found placing an order always a hassle given the crowd, so I just call Ronnie in this store and place the order. Ronnie is very professional and nice to work with. She's very responsive with emails. I made two orders and both were quoted and ordered with satisfaction. As to the quality of the piece, obviously this is not a high end shop, but I do find the quality quite decent so far. read more

If you decide to visit the First Street showroom, look for Ronnie Lo. First thing I did was create a counter dimensions plan before I went shopping for counter tops. I went to at least 5 other stores including the "famous" ones near Brokaw and Fry's Electronics and even Home Depot. I got some good quotes and way over the top quotes but it seems that most did NOT have the material in stock. I was getting bummed out. I walked into KZ Kitchen, found Ronnie, very attentive, checked out their "Quartz" selection and was ready to purchase immediately and they even had everything in stock. Everything was ordered in about 20 minutes and an installation date was set. No issues with that. On the installation date, 3 guys came over and installed the quartz counter top. Make sure your plan locates exactly where the seams go, we almost had a mishap! Also, make sure you don't have any counter top seams exactly on top of the underneath wood seams. I have to be honest, I don't think the installation could have been better, I am pleased and the 2 seams are perfect. Highly recommended. read more

This is the worst cabinets place you could ever find. We worked with them for a week, went multiple times and finalied on a cabinet. We placed the order on 7/2 and they told us we can pick up in 5 days. THey sent us an email on 7/16, confirmed that the pieces are ready and we can pick up on 7/17. Our contractor went there on 7/17 and the ware house guys told us that its not ready!!!!!!! We went to their store on 7/18 and that is when they told that some of the pieces are out of stock and will take months to come and that if we want we can cancel our order!!!!! I mean what!!??? We had our whole plans laid out, housewarming date setup and all the counter tops, house paint, everything done according to that color!!!!! And now we have to start our search again!!! We called the manager and she started yelling at us, everybody stopped paying attention and we were treated as if we had stolen stuff from their place!!!! This really sucks!!! Worst worst place ever!! Would never recommend anyone to go to this shop, ever!!!! read more

I did two home remodeling in Dec 2016 and Jan 2017. I purchased all my kitchen cabinets and vanity from Ronnie at KZ Kitchen on the First Street in San Jose. I have to say that I had a great experience with Ronnie. With the measurements I got and the cabinets I've chosen, Ronnie was able to draw up the design right there in the store and emailed me the drawing and the quote for me to go home with. Ronnie was very intelligent, polite and helpful in every way. The cabinets are in good quality and the warehouse staff were helpful too. I would certainly go back for future remodeling. After reading some of these reviews, I can understand and somewhat relate to some experiences but this is one of those 'You get what you pay for' situations, and at the end of the day you are paying significantly less than anywhere else. Before you begin working with KZ, you must understand and accept you will be dealing with a language and culture barrier. They do business differently but seriously, what do you expect? They do deliver affordable and quality. We did a complete kitchen remodel in our new home and some of the mishaps we experienced could have been prevented with better inspection and communication (on our part). Anyone who has done an entire remodel will understand that you reach a point of not even caring. I just wanted to have a kitchen again and couldn't wait for them to be finished that day. Well, after they cleaned up and left, I noticed a huge flaw in the granite that I picked out. I knew it wouldn't line up perfectly as it wasn't one huge slab but this was such a difference! One was a yellow tone and the other more gray (I must have been sleep deprived or something when I picked it out or maybe was just focusing on flaws in the granite and not noticing the tone of the stone. The warehouse has different granite sizes far away from each other so you don't see them side by side. I recommend taking pictures and lining them up as best you can before purchase.) When lined up and installed, it wasn't something I could even stand to look at and something had to be done. At first, I was shocked and disappointed that it wasn't pointed out to me, but had I walked through and inspected things as they were going, I could have pointed it out to them. In their minds, I picked the granite so I must have wanted that look (sarcasm- I mean who would want that?). In my mind, I thought what kind of professional would look at that and think it's okay. It took a lot of follow up and it was very frustrating but they came back and replaced the entire granite slab free of cost. They did not have to do that and for that they are receiving four stars. My husband and I both think it was worth it going with KZ for what we got and what we paid for. We purchased cabinets, island, sink, faucet and granite counter tops. We would recommend micromanaging the install and being overly clear on wants and expectations. If you want/ need granite under a window for example (another personal experience) you need to be really CLEAR about that. What you think they will know or point out to you, they won't and really for what you pay- it's not their job. They are not your contractor. You need to really look at it in every detail and email it to Ronnie in writing. Our faucet was only needing two holes and they drilled three. I didn't understand the confusion because we purchased the two hole faucet from them. We could of course add a soap dispenser or something but I am currently hanging my dish washing brush with a handle in the hole! See it all worked out ;) There isn't a lot of showroom help so expect the wait- appointment or not. Ronnie is juggling the sales and project management of everything going on there. Allow plenty of time. She is very pleasant to work with. Hopefully this review helps your future experience and you do work with KZ. It's the best bang for your buck if you don't have 50k in the budget for a new kitchen. If you want one for around 10k, this is the place to go! read more

I got my kitchen Cabinets and Granite from KZ kitchen in Mountain View. Great product at reasonable price. I had my own cabinet installer, Electrician and Granite installer. Benjamin at KZ helped me design my new kitchen using their Software at no extra charge or obligation. Here is my 2 cent advise if you want to remodel your kitchen, get involved and become familiar with everything, from cabinets, to installation to everything. Expect some issues to come up as this is a big project. KZ does no rush you in any ways. They accept unused material return. I love my new kitchen at the low cost KZ provided. Good luck. read more

Customer services- rude and unprofessional. I purchased items and picked-up partial items as delivery. Forgot receipt to pick-up rest of items. Delivery lady says go to sales and reprint. This sales lady will not print out new receipts although I showed her invoice number in my cell phone. She insisted to bring my wife (who ordered) and original invoice!! Give a break. I asked for manager. Here rude answer- don't have. One observation I see only Asian people working. I am surprise no other ethnic group I see here working. Is this workplace inequality? I don't know. California State should investigate. About delivery- terrible. They have more than 5 buildings. Every building finger pointing to visit other to get my item!! I will not go as I don't want to get humiliated. In my opinion no one from management cares about Yelp review otherwise they would have improved and fire rude employees. read more

Redid several kitchens using them. Of all the Chinese cabinet places, this company has the best selection of preFab granite and cabinet styles. All of their cabinets are hardwood plywood, the kind you'd have to pay TOP DOLLAR (over $20k) to get from an American cabinet company (through Lowe's or Home Depot.) Their cabinet installers aren't always the greatest, so if you can do that yourself or know a reputable contracter, you may be better off. I do recommend their granite installers, though. I don't believe all the negative reviewers on here are legitimate; they're probably from competitor's companies, and can't compete with the Chinese cabinets or granite prices. I mean, really, how many people that DON'T get work done bother to come on Yelp and leave a negative review. Bogus. read more

I will not recommend or go back to KZ. Customer service ( sales person Cici and Jennifer) was terrible, poor, bad. Don't believe "Satisfaction is guaranteed, you don't pay until you are satisfied with the finish", it is a tactics to get your biz. I bought it and they didn't honor it. One example, I needed some touch-ups after the install; however, they kept asking me to pay the bill 1st, even said "you owe us money, please pay us". More example, my kitchen hood was damaged and KZ sales didn't help or want to deal with it. Fortunately the appointed contractor Mr. Liang was reasonable to deal with, I recommend Mr. Liang for future work. read more

The sales people do not seem to be interested in serving customer, they're in fact quite oblivious on customer's needs... to be honest, I've lowered my bar on service given that this is a somewhat discounted store, but even after I've lowered my bar, I still found it unacceptable.
