I love getting my perennial flowers here, lots of rare stuff that you can't find at most nurseries. I got my jasmine, fuschia, lavender, salvia, petunias, nemesia, zinnias, and cosmos here. They have lots of unusual colors. Tomatoes are $3 most of the time. Strawberries come in a prolific 6 pack. Thai chili and basil can be found here too, as well as okra and other harder to find veggies. Seed selection is the best. This was my year for planting from seed and the basil seeds I got from dales produced spicy sprouts that are so much more fragrant than that at the grocery store. Staff is welcoming and extremely chill as I tend to browse here for hours! Price point is lower than most specialty nurseries while providing a world class selection.

He, now my not-so-favourite brother-in-law, says,'let go to Portola Valley Hardware as they always have a solution to my handyman problems'! We go to PVH and the friendly staffer at busy front counter cheerily says to go down Aisle 7 and I'll have Bob waiting to assist you! And there he was! Bob listened to our 'Mailbox' dilemma then offered a plan that efficiently put into action and solved our problem with a little custom carpentry and, voila, we left ecstatic that we could now complete installing the mailbox per his creative skill set! Thank you Bob and PVH staff for going way and beyond in ensuring you looked after our needs and sent us home totally satisfied! After several exchanges of words, he instructed the employee to give me a replacement. He was rude & his gesture to this employee was unacceptable. The employee tried to give me the replacement but the storage area was unorganized. So he went back to the manager. Unfortunately, the manager was yelling at him & I encountered a serious argument between them. I am frequently making improvements to my current living space, an ground floor apartment close to…read moreour grandchildren. The recent rains have made a quagmire of the garden space in the adjacent porch area where I park my e-bike, and have been dumping soil into the trench. However, my much better half suggested that pavers would be a better fill, and this superb Lowe's has exactly the best product: 12 x 12 x 2" all-weather concrete blocks. Once placed, The high durability ensures bike tires will NOT sink into a wet trough, which ends up getting tracked out into a large waiting area or possibly inside. At the other end, obtaining the pavers was remarkably easy. I went to this specific Lowe's in Sunnyvale because it is the only such store that has an exterior sculpture on its wall that shows the evolution of construction (improving our lives/landscapes) AND the building materials inside make it possible. After motoring to 811 Arques and parking, I pushed a heavy duty cart to the garden center and loaded a dozen of the aforementioned pavers onto it. Time to pay--another critically important step in making the repair, and another reason I always go to Lowe's. I am a Veteran and once registered in the system (my home is in El PasoTX-USA), I am recognized as a Veteran at Lowe's World-wide. The discount is always appreciated, and helps drive down overall costs. I have always been helped by the associates, especially at checkout. Not only do they ensure that the computer system recognizes my status (all of us have dealt with machine failures!), but there isn't anything they won't do to help the transaction to go smoothly. With my dozen pavers, Associate HANH cleared the aisle/facilitated ease of purchase. He represents the always-helpful (and frequently essential) associates, whose service make the shopping experience at Lowe's fantastic! Thank you HANH & LOWE'S‼

Ordered a garage door opener and installation labor…read more Initially, I asked for someone to come out and inspect the unit and provide recommendations. Lowe's associates said that wasn't necessary and to just buy a unit and schedule installation. That will come back to bite me later. After ordering, for almost two weeks there was little communication on the orders status or any progress. I had to call multiple times to confirm appointment date, and the technicians then missed twice (without any notice) before finally coming out. On the day of the install, the technician did not do any assessment and installed the opener. He even said there was an additional part needed, costing an extra $70. When all was said and done, the technician showed me that the opener would not work on my particular door and that I either needed a different unit or a different door. This could have been avoided if we had a proper assessment in the beginning. Furthermore, the technician said it was not his responsibility to uninstall the unit. So now I have to schedule a follow up appointment just to uninstall the unit, likely costing me more money. Do yourself a favor and go through a different company. This has been too much of a headache, cost me money that I likely won't get back, and I don't even have a working garage door.
