I see that it's going out of business and that's unfortunate for their local customers. However, I've never cared for this hardware store. Of the few times I've went, what I was looking for was never in stock. Help was ok. I left wondering how they stay in business and that was 7 years ago! This is the easiest hardware store to work with, they know the exact part you are looking for and the people will help you find it even if the part is difficult. I have been shopping at this group since they were located on Cuesta and Miramonte at the Blossom Valley shopping center. I'm glad to call this place my local hardware store. Every time I've come in, the staff have been lovely and super helpful. They even have a sweet dog (a chiyorki) named Minnie Mouse roaming around. She's super friendly and you should definitely say hi to her. The store is actually quite large and they have a great selection of goods. Most of the aisles are labeled but I prefer to ask someone for help if I'm looking for something specific. I definitely want to go in one of these days and look at every aisle though. I feel like I can get lost here with all the goodies that are available. Btw, dedicated parking is in the back of the store on Park Drive and is shared with Mountain View Surplus. read more

This store is a real gem. It's a true neighborhood store with a rather amazing inventory of goods. I'm often there for nuts/bolts/hardware, paint and painting supplies. There is always someone friendly and actually helpful to talk to which is a rare occurrence at big box stores! I love this place. It's close by, the employees are friendly and helpful, and I usually prefer them to schlepping over to Home Depot or Lowe's. They are also locally owned, which means you enrich members of your own community instead of some heartless corporation in another state. I can honestly say I would need less than the fingers on one hand to count the times when I came here for something and they didn't have it. Prices are comparable to any other hardware store out, there, too. It's also my go-to when I need a razor edge on my kitchen knives. This is an absolutely wonderful neighborhood both for homeowners and contractors who need all sorts of stuff for small home and business projects. These smart, honest people who have enacted effective masking and social distancing requirements that many small businesses have deliberately and illegally avoided --- for instance restaurants, who deliberately and criminally flaunt Covid requirements out of sheer, criminal desperation. I go there because, their stock is incredibly well planned. They stock almost all of the stuff that homeowners and small contractors need to do details for small jobs. In addition, their staff is both friendly and customer oriented and willing to spend time with me when I need just the right screw to repair a piece of furniture, or a kitchen shelf. Came here and the staff were very nice and helpful even though it was Memorial Day. :) They didn't have a screw that was identical to the one I needed (was missing one for my Ikea bed), but that's most likely an Ikea issue and not this store's issue. But no worries- I bought a set of six of their most similar screws to the Ikea one I brought in to show the employee who helped me, and it worked just fine! Since the staff asked helpful questions such as "What material are you putting the screw into?" it all worked out just fine! Also bought a pair of needle nose pliers for $10. Plenty of parking in the parking lot and side streets. You can tell that this place is a neighborhood staple with lots of regulars- and now I see why people come back. :) read more

You know how you go to a big box store, it takes you forever to find anything, or find someone who actually knows something? That doesn't happen here. I brought them a tough problem today, and they really came through for me. I used Combat Ant Control gel on my kitchen marble counters, and it dried like concrete. I thought I had ruined my kitchen counters and was already calculating how many thousands of dollars it would cost to replace them. Nothing would touch it - GooGone, WD40, lighter fluid, granite cleaner - but the gentleman who helped me at Ace recommended Caulk Remover. It actually worked - in a half hour, my counters were totally restored! I am so grateful for these folks, I'm not going anywhere else from now on. I suggest you do the same. read more

I was visiting relatives and needed a hole saw. Not wanting to drive all the way to Sunnyvale or EPA. I called to see if the had one. Spoke to Mike . He confirmed he had one. I zipped over. Found Mike and he showed me where they are. Price was good. I was in and out in a few minutes. Good luck trying to get help in lowes or home depot. Very happy this store is here. Good place to pick up the last part you need and not have to deal with the big box stores. It's like a tiny OSH. Dam I miss that place. Give them a try and help support a local business. Blossom Valley True Value Hardware is a real LOCAL hardware store with a phenomenal variety of products packed into a modest-size store--and they know where everything is located and will help you find it. They have everything! Need a plastic owl to scare away squirrels? Got it! Need a plastic eagle to discourage more squirrels? Got it! Toilet seat? Got it! Leaky toilet? They've got all the parts. Went to Lowes to get a duplicate house key and when I tried using it, it did not work. Went to True Value, and hooray! My duplicate key works. There is a minimum $5 CC purchase; which is really easy to get around with just a birthday card or a refrigerator magnet. Parking is in the back. NO Entrance, NO parking out front/side. read more

Yes indeed, very helpful staff in this store, as my Yelp colleagues have mentioned. Some higher pricing on some of the products, but convenient if you need a whole range of things from plumbing to cleaning supplies, among other household needs. I had forgotten how many a True Value store carries kitchen items such as cooking implements, dishes, among many other items, this location not an exception either. I needed a dielectric union to repair an automatic draining system on my air compressor. Two staff spent about 30 minutes looking for the part that I needed. They even called another staff at his home to help find the part. This type of service is very unusual these days, but extremely appreciated. One of the staff stayed with me to assist with the rest of the plumbing parts to complete the repair. This very good service and greatly appreciated. read more
