Ordered a garage door opener and installation labor. Initially, I asked for someone to come out and inspect the unit and provide recommendations. Lowe's associates said that wasn't necessary and to just buy a unit and schedule installation. That will come back to bite me later. After ordering, for almost two weeks there was little communication on the orders status or any progress. I had to call multiple times to confirm appointment date, and the technicians then missed twice (without any notice) before finally coming out. On the day of the install, the technician did not do any assessment and installed the opener. He even said there was an additional part needed, costing an extra $70. When all was said and done, the technician showed me that the opener would not work on my particular door and that I either needed a different unit or a different door. This could have been avoided if we had a proper assessment in the beginning. Furthermore, the technician said it was not his responsibility to uninstall the unit. So now I have to schedule a follow up appointment just to uninstall the unit, likely costing me more money. Do yourself a favor and go through a different company. This has been too much of a headache, cost me money that I likely won't get back, and I don't even have a working garage door. read more

I just left Lowes, this is the 2nd time I've been there and the 2nd time I've had a horrible experience! Customer service is terrible I waited outside for 20 minutes because I was picking up a "bucket and lid". I finally decided to go inside; the app read "scan barcode" there was NO barcode. The customer service rep said enter the order number (this was the person who was handling the pick up orders - I informed him I was there to pick up a bucket and lid and I'd been waiting outside for 20 minutes), I started entering the order number when the customer service person said "let me look it up" ‍(isn't that his job?) Then he pulled my order and looked at me and said "oh, it's just a bucket . Sorry it took so long." And handed it to me. We visited the store in mid-December to schedule a window measurement appointment, which went smoothly -- but everything after that has been a mess. After the measurements, we purchased the blinds online through a Lowe's representative, with an expected delivery date in mid-January. When that date came, there were no updates or communication from Lowe's or the vendor. After giving it some time, I called customer service and learned the order had been delayed because the vendor had supposedly been trying to contact Lowe's for clarification -- but no one at Lowe's ever responded. I was told by the agent that Lowe's and the vendor use an outdated, unreliable communication system, and that had I not called when I did, the order would have been canceled that very day. The order was then delayed another month, with a new delivery date of early February. As of today, the order still shows as incomplete, and there's no clear tracking or confirmation of what's been delivered. I received a few boxes but couldn't tell if everything had arrived, so I called again -- got placed on hold, only to be hung up on after 20 minutes. This isn't the first rude or unhelpful interaction either. A few weekends ago, someone from the store called with an interrogating tone, questioning whether I even ordered the blinds through Lowe's, before eventually saying they'd "look into it and call back." No one ever did. Between unreturned calls, long hold times, disconnected calls, and the total lack of accountability, I've spent countless hours just trying to get a straightforward update. I placed an online order for four Kohler bathroom sinks and picked them up at the store. After opening two of the boxes in the store, I immediately realized the quality of the items was poor. The glaze had obvious pinholes (small dots), indicating poor manufacturing or inadequate quality control. Based on Lowe's online return policy for this item, I decided to return the sinks immediately. However, the store manager informed me that I would have to pay a 20% restocking fee because the sinks were considered a "special order." According to Lowe's website, a special-order item is one that is customized or configured specifically for the customer, which is clearly not the case here. The store manager refused to waive the restocking fee. Every customer has the right to know what fees they may be charged when returning an item. Such fees should not be left to the discretion of an individual store manager. If I had known there would be a 20% restocking fee, I would have purchased the sinks elsewhere. This is an undisclosed 20% restocking fee on a standard, non-customized item, and customers are not informed of this fee when placing the order. Simply because an item is shipped directly from a vendor does not make it a customized or special-order product. I have returned vendor-shipped items to Lowe's in the past without being charged a restocking fee. If Lowe's considers all vendor-shipped items to be special orders, then that should be clearly disclosed during the ordering process. I contacted Lowe's Customer Care and opened a case regarding this issue. This is not a store I intend to shop at again, and I am seriously considering canceling my Lowe's credit card and taking my business elsewhere. read more

I loved this place! Was helped by a nice older gentlemen named David on two separate occasions. Super great to work with him and there was even a promotion running where if you ordered in store for delivery the charge was reduced to $29 instead of the $79 it would have been if you ordered online. I spent over 30 minutes trapped in a understaffed, slow-moving return line at the Arques/Fair Oaks location just to be rigidly denied a return on a brand-new, unopened $48 power cord because construction delays pushed it past their 90-day window. Zero flexibility from management, zero care for customer time, and a completely automated, unhelpful system. I am a local business owner in the Peninsula, and I will be actively steering my entire client network away from Lowe's to independent local stores that actually value customer service. There is a reason this vendor, and in particular this store, have such a low rating... For some inexplicable reason Lowe's implemented a policy where you cannot return items without a receipt, which means you're out of luck if you paid in cash. No option of store credit is available. I had no idea about this policy change and asked for a manager to request a one-time exception. The manager walks over and says he "has no authority" to give an exception to my $50-ish returned items total. I politely told the cashier and manager that I would never shop at this store again. Ironically, I was planning to purchase a refrigerator immediately after my return but only went there first because it's closer to the entrance. To whoever had the genius idea to save a few dollars on fraudulent returns by implementing this policy, you're going to lose thousands (possibly tens of thousands) in lost customer purchases. read more

I work early mornings delivering items to customers, and I am consistently here when the location first opens. Because of this, I often arrive during the employees' morning meetings. I have noticed a clear and concerning difference in employee behavior depending on whether management is present. When managers are around, Jennifer and Lexi present as pleasant, cooperative, and professional. However, once managers leave, their demeanor changes entirely. At that point, they become rude, unapproachable, and dismissive. On multiple occasions, I have attempted to ask for assistance and was either ignored or outright rejected. On this particular day, Miss Lexi's attitude was unwarranted and unprofessional. Another employee, Jennifer, was dismissive before I could even ask for help. She avoided eye contact, and when she did acknowledge me, she rolled her eyes. This behavior is unacceptable in a professional work environment. When staff members refuse to assist or create unnecessary obstacles, it directly interferes with my ability to perform my job efficiently. Their conduct reflects negatively on my job performance, even though the delays are beyond my control. This pattern of behavior needs to be addressed, and accountability is necessary. There is one manager--a bald Black gentleman--who has consistently been kind, professional, and helpful, and I look forward to speaking with him about this experience. However, during this incident, no one was willing to contact a manager on my behalf despite repeated requests. I asked whether a manager was available, requested customer service support, and asked for names. I was told the managers are Sergio and Chu, yet no one took the initiative to call either of them. Both Jennifer and Lexi made it unnecessarily difficult for me to complete my assigned tasks in a timely and orderly manner. If I am to continue accepting these jobs, I should not encounter resistance, hostility, or refusal of basic assistance that forces me to repeatedly seek managerial intervention. I am frequently making improvements to my current living space, an ground floor apartment close to our grandchildren. The recent rains have made a quagmire of the garden space in the adjacent porch area where I park my e-bike, and have been dumping soil into the trench. However, my much better half suggested that pavers would be a better fill, and this superb Lowe's has exactly the best product: 12 x 12 x 2" all-weather concrete blocks. Once placed, The high durability ensures bike tires will NOT sink into a wet trough, which ends up getting tracked out into a large waiting area or possibly inside. At the other end, obtaining the pavers was remarkably easy. I went to this specific Lowe's in Sunnyvale because it is the only such store that has an exterior sculpture on its wall that shows the evolution of construction (improving our lives/landscapes) AND the building materials inside make it possible. After motoring to 811 Arques and parking, I pushed a heavy duty cart to the garden center and loaded a dozen of the aforementioned pavers onto it. Time to pay--another critically important step in making the repair, and another reason I always go to Lowe's. I am a Veteran and once registered in the system (my home is in El PasoTX-USA), I am recognized as a Veteran at Lowe's World-wide. The discount is always appreciated, and helps drive down overall costs. I have always been helped by the associates, especially at checkout. Not only do they ensure that the computer system recognizes my status (all of us have dealt with machine failures!), but there isn't anything they won't do to help the transaction to go smoothly. With my dozen pavers, Associate HANH cleared the aisle/facilitated ease of purchase. I was looking for a few items and found a Lowe's employee (Isidro) who was kind enough to walk me to the department where I would find the first item I was looking for. Along the way Isidro asked me how my day was going and also asked me if there was anything thing else he could help me with. I said, "No Thanks", but later realized that I would need a Lowe's employee for assistance in getting my second item which was secured in a locked cabinet. Enter Isidro again! When our initial order arrived with a defect, she made the replacement process seamless and ensured we received the same pricing, which we really appreciated. Later, when we had an issue with the installation of our continuous loop blinds, I reached out to her again. She not only helped troubleshoot but also suggested an alternative--cordless blinds--which is working out great for us! Throughout the entire experience, Debra was patient, professional, and dedicated to making sure everything was done right. I ordered 35 Hardie Planks and two trim pieces. The two trim pieces were delivered separately (a waste of Lowe's money when they are only charging one delivery fee). Then the big order -- the 35 planks -- was cancelled by Lowes as the order was routed to the wrong store... by Lowes. They couldn't get the order to the correct store... I was to start over with a new order, new payment, new delivery scheduling and new day of waiting between 11am and 11pm. read more

Lowe's should vet their installation contractors. If Windows Fit/Maxx Window Works is the installation contractor Lowe's assigns to your job, run the other way as fast as you can. My whole project has been a nightmare for 6 months. I bought two sets of replacement glass patio doors the first week in Oct 2025, with the understanding they would be installed before Thanksgiving. Despite my constant inquiries, they dragged their feet on getting a permit. Thanksgiving came and went, and finally, in mid-Dec they followed up and obtained a permit from the Town of Los Gatos. Because it was close to Christmas, I asked that they delay until after the holidays, but in early January, it was raining, so yet another delay of 3 weeks because they would not/could not work in the rain. When they finally started the project in Feb, they only worked about 2 hours per day, because they had other jobs to finish. A job that should have required 3-4 days took 3 weeks- a few hours here and there. Several times, they showed up unannounced, and once one of the workers just walked right into my house without permission. The supervisor, Ernie, never showed up on site until I complained to Lowe's Customer Service. Then he dropped by to see the damage the workers caused. Otherwise, Ernie only responded on the phone or sometimes via text messages. No one supervised the work. The installation crew was a mess. They were sloppy and left trash in my back and side yards. The stucco repair looked like a 12-year-old did it. The inside molding was crooked and uneven. They didn't miter the corners. They left a gap of 1-2 inches between the door and the inside flooring. The screen door did not properly close. One of the inside door tracks has a 4-inch gap where the door closes. After many calls, discussions, and complaints, Ernie finally sent an experienced installer to repair the damage. One look at the job and he was horrified. He came twice and fixed the molding and some of the stucco, but then he disappeared, too. They falsified the lead report - saying they had completed all the requirements, and listing the wrong date my house was built. They completed NONE of the requirements that this document and the regulations require. Then Ernie had the audacity to say it didn't matter and I should "just ignore it." Here we are, 6 months later, and still the installation and repairs to the poor work are not finished. There is no one scheduled at this time to finish. Lowes has called me several times to ask about progress, and even though I continue to complain, nothing happens. I believe Lowe's has a responsibility to vet their installers. They never should have authorized these incompetent, sloppy people. (Windows Fit and Window Works) I am just as frustrated with Lowe's do-nothing Customer Service as I am with their incompetent installation contractors. It's all bad, and I am left with a half-completed project. read more

Two delivery dates scheduled and still nothing has arrived. No communication of delay or reason and I've had to get information from the national customer service team. Also, after a long search for about a week we'd finally selected one of our kitchen home improvement item from Lowe's. What a terrible disappointment. I bought two sets of new patio doors for $11,000.00 the first week in October on the condition that they would be installed before Thanksgiving. The installation time was important to me as my entire family comes to my house for the only holiday I host all year. The salesperson, Jenkins, told me it would be no problem to have the doors installed by Thanksgiving. The so-called Lowes project manager called a few times very early in the morning (while I was still sleeping - I guess they didn't check to see I live in California-Pacific Time), to tell me that the project was delayed or that nothing had changed. But they never took any action to correct this situation. They simply made an obligatory early morning phone call to tell me nothing. This is NOT project management. Lowes is blaming the installer for this screw-up - but Lowes picked the installer, not me. Loews apparently made no effort to manage the installer or to find an alternate. Lowes is also blaming the permitting process, but apparently the installer delayed applying for a permit - again a project management failure. I am just so very disappointed in Lowes performance and their lies. read more

Horrible experience. Avoid. Go to Best Buy or Airport Appliances. Lowes lie to you. I ordered a dishwasher on Feb 2nd. Was told delivery would be 5-7 days (to the store, then additional days to get delivered to me). After 2 weeks, i tried calling, impossible to get a 'real' person, and the automated system just said "in progress". I went to the store in person, and met the most incompetent and rude worker ever ... he just kept saying, it's being shipped from Michigan. Why was i told 5-7 days? "it's coming from Michigan". More weeks pass ... no updates. I finally spoke to someone on the phone who assured me someone would follow up and call me. No calls (of course). Finally, March 17th i got delivery. Called Lowe's the day the water damage happens. They said you'll have to file a claim. After the $3500 of damage took three days of service to fix Lowe's is now saying the company they used is NOT insured and they won't cover it !?! Now after waiting 6 days to use the brand new dryer the dryer it gives an error message. Now Lowe's says it's not their problem because they only offer returns or refunds after 2 days. Next to Apple Campus #3 is this Lowes. Great discount on large trees and other seasonal items. Now is a good time to buy some big ticket items if you need them. Stores tend to move seasonal items and appliances January. Garden section was large. Beautiful Monrovia flowering trees for a deep discount. Oddly enough the cashier at the garden department wasn't able to call management for price difference. First time I've ever heard this - that you had to check out inside. If you always wanted some odd tree - this is the time to start looking around for pick of the litter. If your particular about branch spacing and the exact shape... Similar to other Lowes in all other respects - except maybe the exterior had some minimal mosaic tiles on the front. Lowes is well stocked here but they are understaffed and it's hard to find any help. I came 3 different times because the person working in the paint department to shake paint was not available. On another occasion, I rang a help button on the wall to cut my blinds and no one ever came. Once a month they would host a kid's workshop and hand out little aprons and little projects for kids to complete. I've been going to these for years. My kids enjoy them. read more

I was shopping for some plants at the Garden Center at the Lowe's on Arques in Sunnyvale today. Lou went above and beyond to help me. I had such a great experience! I was looking for a specific type of plant, namely boxwood. I couldn't find any at the Garden Center at first. I asked Lou, who was unloading inventory at the Garden Center. He very patiently helped me. Turns out that they had some at the back, and it wasn't displayed yet. So he brought out one and told me that they would be unloading another dozen later in the day. He also found some mini version of the boxwood plants at the front of the store, and took the time to show me where they were. It was an exceptional experience. What a day, it could have turned into a nightmare for me; however, thanks to the persistence & exemplary customer service, an employee named Roger helped me through, and made my day Here's the scoop.... I was using a foldable wagon, and yes the same one EVERYONE has from Costco, to get ready to set up a BBQ picnic for my kids. After loading & hauling stuffs to the picnic area at a nearby park, one of the wheels came off. Apparently, the nut had become loose & fallen off, the load nearly landed on my toes. Costco was near, so I thought I can go there & do a quick exchange. No luck, the summer season has come to an end, and the entire Bay Area Costco has none after checking in with their Customer Service. Well, the party must go on at 12 noon, so I decided to drive to Lowe's Hardware. Roger was able to find a set of screw and nut to hold my right front wagon wheel together. He even warned me, over time, it will become loose again; as this is a temporary fix. Well, that'll buy me some time, and I appreciate Roger at Lowe's who absolutely exemplified how to treat a customer.
