I love coming to the Best Buy, Mountain View location. Located in a small strip mall, this Best Buy location definitely has a presence that makes it the focal point for this area. Located literally a block away from the freeway, this location. Also makes it convenient to get on and off if you ever need to go towards the Peninsula or the South Bay. Because it is a retail store, the services are vast and the value can range from medium to higher price points. It has everything from Home entertainment, to appliances, to computing. Literally, it has tech everywhere. This place will get you and your wallet in trouble, if you're not careful, lol. Finally, this is one of the last locations in the Bay Area that actually has a car/ auto installation bay. Meaning anything from speakers, car radios, and even alarms can be installed here. Although, it doesn't have a full staff working regularly in the installation space. The team that does work regularly, are very competent and professional. I do wish, at times, they could be a little bit more engaging. Especially, to customers who are unfamiliar with what the installation entails. but the rest of the store is fantastic and very friendly. As I stated earlier, it's one of my favorite locations to go to, and I will continue to go here if I'm in the area. Heck, I will drive out of my way to go here. Haha. read more

Made up delivery policy not disclosed -- wasted time and poor follow-up I purchased a Maytag dryer from Best Buy after spending a lot of time selecting the model. When the delivery team arrived, they refused to install it, saying Best Buy only allows rigid or semi-rigid vent hoses and not flexible ones, so they took the dryer back. This was never disclosed by the sales staff when I bought it. The delivery team also told me Home Depot would be the same because they use the same delivery contractors. That turned out to be false -- Home Depot said they do install flexible hoses. At best Buy, I spoke with John, the store manager, who said he would address the issue and make it right. However, after learning the delivery center had already reimbursed me for the failed delivery, Best Buy did nothing further and even took back the $50 promotional gift card they had originally given me. On my way out of Best Buy after seeing the manager, I told him that if he was not going to make it up to me, I would be done with them after many years of shopping there. It didn't seem to matter to him. I reached out online to ask for filing a complaint with their web site & no one replied. I ended up buying the same dryer cheaper at Lowe's, whose delivery team brought both flexible and semi-rigid hoses, trimmed the flexible hose, and installed it without any problem the next day. Bottom line: If Best Buy has installation restrictions, customers should be told before purchase, not when the delivery truck arrives. This experience wasted hours and showed very poor customer follow-up. read more

This shop installed an apple car unit in my car incorrectly which caused my 2004 Porsche Cayenne to have a short in its electrical system and render the vehicle non operative. I exchanged 15 Pro Max for 15 Pro and now I cannot exchange my 15 pro screen protector because I took the other one and I would have to make a new purchase to do it which is completely rubbish because if I already have purchased 15 Pro Max screen protector when it was broken and I only took iPhone 15 Pro Max screen protector by swapping it out why would I use my 15 pro to swap it? They were kind enough to inform me that because it's more than 60 days, I would have to go back to the manufacturer. I was only two weeks beyond 60 days. They offered no mercy and sent me on my way to the manufacturer. This is my first major appliance purchase from them and it likely will be my last. No grace means no future business where major purchases are concerned. After spending thousands of dollars I got no help from Best Buy. They don't live up to their name. I bought a new iPad Air to replace mine which was out of storage space and having battery issues. There was a great sale and I was able to save $ and trade mine in for a great price. Best Buy wants you to bring in the old iPad and get the new one at the same time. I picked up the new one and took it home to transfer the data from my older one to the newer one. The sales guy cancelled my trade in and told me i could adjust it on my computer at home. WRONG! Online I was offered a Best Buy gift card but I wanted the $270 trade in credited back to my payment card. I came back to the store and was told that I could transfer the data, prepare the new one and bring them both back. They would cancel the transaction and redo it so that I could get the deal I was offered online. I went in today after work to take care of this issue. I was first told that that's not how they do this. I would get a Best Buy Gift card. I told them that I was told I could and that I wanted to do it that way instead. I found out that the price had gone up now and apparently the trade in value went down $50. If I have an offer that says I have 14 days to trade in my item and the trade in value is valid for 15 days that should be honored. This is completely unacceptable and very shady. I am very frustrated and although the sales lady today told me that I could watch for the price to go lower and get the difference within 60 days I feel very duped right now. I will NOT be going back to this store and while we are "Total Members" right now, I am seriously considering canceling our membership. I wish I would have went to Apple directly,. This review is for the car radio installation department. I had a great customer experience both on the phone before the appointment and when I brought my car in. The install wasn't easy- it took the installer, Jason, the entire day because it's an old Porsche and he had to relocate some things in order to make the double din work. He did a very clean, detailed job and even made sure to tune the system before returning the keys to me. I was skeptical about bringing my car there, but after my recent experience, I wouldn't hesitate to have them install a radio or any other sound system equipment into my cars. So this review I am giving only because of one employee that went out of their way, listened and helped solve my issue fast and attentive. First as a Geek Squad customer I went in to see if they could help me on determining why the HP computer I bought at the original Mt View store on Charleston seemed to have the wrong cord for charging, Since having this computer, this cord has never sat in well, and thus does not hold a charge. I had to wait forever over 15 minutes, to get someone to help me cause they were short staffed, helping another customer and had a new girl training. Finally that girl helped and she actually was very nice. The issue was she really did not help in solving the problem. I was not interested in any after market cord or non HP universal cord. She passed me onto someone in computers, I told them the same thing, What did they lead me to , a cord that is Universal. Even though the person was trying to help and push it on me, I had to just say " No this is not what I want" My other scenario was that I needed a holder for my mobile phone and some type of devise that would allow hands free in my car coming thru the car speakers. Do you know, they sent me back to where the refrigerators were, and even the people that install and no one knew how to direct me..not one! So sort of frustrated, I was then approached by this young guy named Colton that worked for Best Buy. He listened attentively and knew exactly what I needed. In fact, right in the area where I was looking and no one could direct he found my solution for the hands free" devise that I needed. He also helped direct me to the place I would find for the holder for my mobile phone while driving. Thank you Colton( not sure of spelling) for knowing the solutions, the answers with my phone and hands free enabling. I appreciate your help!! BTW, the rest of the staff there are very nice. I only encountered one young guy that was working that was sort of put off with questions. Things did not start out well. I was looking for a new computer keyboard. I selected 2 keyboards that felt good to the touch. I approached a sales associate and asked what was the difference between them. He said "This one's better." I asked "Better how?" He shrugged. Useless. After searching for another sales associate for 5 minutes, I found Ines. I asked the same question. She gave a complete answer. She suggested buying both keyboards, and after trying them out, return one. I had until end of January. It was day before Thanksgiving, 10 AM (deserted) when I visited this store, so plenty of time to make a determination. She also explained how to get some money back if I saw a better Black Friday price. And she added that if I lost the receipt, the transaction was attached to my record online. Best Buy's customer service is amazingly outdated, you cannot return an item within a month, instead they have 15days policy. They cannot even give you store credit, the only thing they maybe able to do something is package that is never opened. I brought a Tesla charger and never get a chance to touch it until yesterday and then realize it is not a mobile charger, but a wall charge that require high voltage than a normal 110V port. Then when I want to return it, the answer is No, and only if I am a paid member that I can do a return with 30 days, otherwise 15 days, and they cannot even return as store credit. I mean any store you name like target, costco, even a Walmart, they will allow you to return in 30 days, not to mention those 3 month return window. I found it and went to look for the brand I wanted. I had a hard time finding what I needed and no one approached me nor could I find anyone to help me. I made about 10 circles in the same area. Played with the keyboards, wrote an essay on one of the laptops and still no one helped me. I needed guidance for my specific need and didn't get it. After a frustrating wait I went up to the front to let the guy at the front security desk know they had a ton of people in the laptop area and no one helped me. Without a laptop in hand I left. I worked retail many moons ago and I know the deal so it's very frustrating when service is poor. Here is the insult, ridicules, and verbal abuse from Mr.Patrick Acevedo (specialty sales manager) in this store: I'm exposing Mr.Patrick Acevedo because he voluntarily asked me to do so if I want to. A year ago, I bought 2 years of Geek Squad warranty by paying extra $80 because a sales person said the Geek Squad guarantees the purchasing price for 2 years. I wanted to return it and upgrade the product, so visited this store. It was so difficult to find any staff in the store who can help me. After about 10 min, I finally found a young lady far away, approached to her, and asked her to bring the newer product that I was looking for. The young lady (not going to disclose her name at this moment) seemed inexperienced about the system, and she asked my phone number 3 times while she was looking into screen for 15 min. Finally, she pulled out something irrelevant from very old purchase history. What a dumb waste of time by the inexperienced employee. After that, Mr.Patrick Acevedo came to her desk, and he said he will not let me do what I want to do. It was quite strange how Mr.Patrick Acevedo knew what I was trying do. Regardless, I explained to him about the 2 years of extra Geek Squad warranty, then asked him to process the upgrade. Mr.Patrick Acevedo said I am lying, and whoever told me such thing, he should 'FIRE' the employee. I asked Mr.Patrick Acevedo to find the sales person and take him to me. As an update: Got in touch with the market manager who apologized for the staff's shortcomings, the operations manager, Aaron brought us back in to remediate the staff's error. Previous post: DO NOT GO HERE! Here is an email I wrote to their Market Manager as well as filed with the DA: I have been a loyal Best Buy customer for over 20 years. We have gone to Best Buy for all of our needs from first laptop to present day. In our years, we have not encountered as poor customer service as today. Starting from not getting help in unloading a large item from our car (which - mind you, we have received at every single location we have been to). When we came to do a return, being told that it's only a 15 day return policy. I let the girl know that their policy says 60 days. To which she said "oh ok" and tried again which then worked. And having an item placed on the shelf under the wrong price point then not honoring the item price. The roomba j7+ vacuum rang up as $1,099. However, advertised on TWO price tags as $799. Nowhere on the shelf even was the advertised price of $1,099. Mind you, as I am walking back and forth with multiple associates and showing them this, I am walking past several associates arguing with customers. I have been going to Santana Row and milpitas for years, never have I seen these type of issues there. I am very disappointed with the service I have received here. The manager I dealt with was Parneel Singh who was the one who refused to service, spoke to me in a rude manner, and also kept us on hold for a prolonged time.
