The sales representative advised me to keep my old phone for a few weeks before bringing it back for the trade-in. However, he never mentioned that there was a deadline to complete the trade-in. Had he simply told me about the deadline, I would have returned my phone on time without any issue. When I finally brought my old phone back, I was shocked to learn that I had missed the trade-in deadline and my phone could no longer be accepted. I immediately called AT&T customer service and spent more than an hour on the phone, only to be told that they would not extend the deadline or honor the trade-in. There was no willingness to take responsibility for the misinformation provided by their own representative. I know I would have turned in my phone on time if I had been given the correct information. Instead, I am now paying the price for a mistake that could have easily been avoided. This experience has left me incredibly frustrated and disappointed. Because I recently purchased a new phone, I am now locked into staying with AT&T unless I pay off the full remaining balance of the device. If I had the option, I would leave immediately. Instead, I have no choice but to wait until I can end my commitment, and once I can, I will be switching to another carrier. AT&T has completely lost my trust. A simple failure to communicate important information has cost me hundreds of dollars and turned what should have been a straightforward trade-in into a terrible customer experience.

I walked in to purchase the latest and greatest Samsung phone, the Samsung S26 Ultra phone with extended storage, a $1500 phone, and possibly a matching Samsung watch between $400 and $700. That's over a $2,000 purchase. It also would have essentially resulted in a 3 year service agreement. I left canceling the order while another frustrated customer waited during my mess of a shopping experience -- the manager (at least she said she's the manager*) and sales rep, arguing with me about my sharing my perception of the service they provided me. As I reflect on the experience, I wonder if the rep and manager purposefully treated me poorly because they don't make money on these types of sales and just wanted to get out of there and go home...or something like that. Anyhow Cristina, the sales representative, seemed inconvenienced and annoyed from the start when I walked in about fifteen minutes before they closed. Her answers to my questions were curt and barely one sentence responses. Even her information regarding the comparison of my current Samsung Watch to the new Samsung8 was about one sentence based on her looking at a Google search on her phone. My same search provide at least a couple paragraphs explaining the differences with much more helpful information. Overall, I found the experience very dissatisfying, negative and disappointing. I own a small business in the area with about ten lines with Verizon and was amazed that the level of service I received was so rude and inconsiderate. Towards the end, the manager, Kaitlin, started to speak to me in a threatening manner, suggesting I grabbed Cristina's arm. I did not grab anybody's arm. If anybody at Verizon, or the owners of the store, read this review and go back to watch the video I would appreciate them coaching the staff on how to interact with customers and provide a very basic level, if not higher level of service to what is hopefully a relatively high value customer. Threatening customers is no way to grow a business. * Kaitlin, who said she's the manager, was looking at her phone virtually the whole time I was in the store. I find it hard to believe that she's actually the manager. It had no operational issues at all, the only issue was that the screen had started to separate from the frame and they diagnosed it as a swollen battery. Phone is just shy of 2 years old, so no warranty but also plenty of life left so I opted for the battery replacement. I was told it was easy, no issues, come back in 1-2 hours. When I first picked up my phone, it worked completely fine for ~15 hours. However the next morning the screen just went dark mid-text and there was nothing I could do to get it on. I did manual power cycles etc, no response. I was pretty sure the phone was still on because it would heat & cool like it was processing. I returned and they made it clear if it was just a loose connection it would be free, but if it was another issue there'd be a charge. Turned out to just be a loose connection, no charge, and I picked it up a couple of hours later. Only this time, within 30 minutes of getting my phone back, it had frozen & rebooted 3 times. Fairly light usage - just Google Maps to navigate home during / to avoid traffic. I immediately turned back around and dropped the phone back off - was told it wasn't anything they did but they would try to diagnose it. The next day (Saturday) they never called me with an update and it was getting towards lunch so I called them, since they are closed Sunday and I didn't want to be without my phone for that long. They said they had run a stress test on it with no issue but shared nothing beyond that even when I tried asking for specifics about what the test is, how they knew it didn't reboot, etc. I picked it up, no charge. The phone worked for 5-6 hours and then had reboot issues. It stabilized and worked again for ~5-6 hours then had reboot issues. Throughout Sunday while they were closed, the phone froze and rebooted about every 30 minutes on average. I was so fed up and needed my phone to work and they were unwilling to deal with the issue. I ended up purchasing a new phone, but can't get a refund or even partial refund even though my phone worked fine before they opened it up and now is all but unusable. If this was a significant risk of the process, they should have stated that. I would have bought a new phone ($600) vs replacing the batter ($240). I am incredibly frustrated with everything about this process and won't use them again unless it's the most minor of repairs like cleaning a charging port. I won't let them open up another phone in the future that's for sure.

Once I got home, I put in a claim with my phone insurance through my provider (Xfinity Mobile), and they gave me an option to replace the phone for $99 or to get it fixed for free. Now, I've heard replacement screens can be not as good as the originals, but on the other hand, "free" just happens to be my favorite price--so I took a chance and put in for the repair. This Batteries Plus (B+) was the closest official repair shop in my area, so once I put in my claim, they sent me a link to schedule my appointment, and away I went. The Good: * Tons of appointment times available, and they were totally fine with me moving it up once my schedule cleared up. * Street and lot parking * Fantastic customer service by the three different gentlemen (sorry, I didn't get names). They were fast, reliable, and polite. I was in and out with the drop-off in less than 5 minutes. * Not only are they polite, but they're super fast and they had the parts in stock. They quoted me 1.5 hours, but it was done in less than one! * The screen seems as good as the original, and they claim they use only factory original Samsung parts for the repair. The Meh: * The website to make the claim kept wanting to send text message verifications. Well, if I'm putting in a phone claim then why would you assume I have access to it???? 0_o Not B+'s fault but just needed to vent that.
