We brought our baby here to get her passport photo taken because the post office's camera was broken. No appointment needed! Wooo! Karen took the photo and she was super patient even though our baby was crying. She was frustrated that the post office keeps sending passport applicants to them and said that they have been stating their camera is broken for at least a year. Very unhelpful store manager, who seems disinterested in helping customers. He has put a paper printed sign saying store closes at 7pm but yelp record hasn't been updated from 8pm. He has a rule of not processing amazon returns in the last hr and wouldn't make any exceptions. If you had a deadline, pretty much the returns are toast because of lazy staff. They should be updating Yelp and Amazon both as well as the printed sign to communicate that last hr of the store operations are closed for Amazon returns. I love this staples. Customer service is fantastic. Karen, the manager is so personable, kind, and thoughtful. She always remembers if I wanted something that was out of stock but has come back in stock. She is such a pleasure to talk to. She manages long lines efficiently esp helping older customers who might be in a long line but don't need to make specific purchases from behind the counter items and just want to go about their day. Cashiers are advocates for helping make sure you are taking advantage of all their sales and app related discounts by reminding you to check or noticing you have an item eligible. I would recommend this staples. I really get a good community experience every time I come. read more

I have a six sense when it comes to judgement based on my skin color. 2 cashiers - only the Caucasian was available when I was waiting in line. Caught her eyeballing me as I was trying to figure out which pens ones to buy. I had a small purse in my basket. I truly believe she thought I was trying to steal something. Walked up & I could tell right away I should of have gone to the African American cashier. Asked if she could price check 2 sets of pens - looked annoyed. No kind of customer service. She even said - when the 2nd cashier opened up - oh you can go to her if you want. Ummmm.. lady I had already put my basket down on your counter. No kind of hello - I can help you here. Isn't that the Staples way? Didn't even say have a good day at the end of my purchase. As I was walking out the African American cashier said "have a good day to me". I wasn't even helped by her - but she obviously knows OUTSTANDING customer service. Or just human kindness. I mean really? In this day & age? After what the world has seen? A large store with a lot of essentials! The cashier was very friendly. Staples online and in-store are actually separate transactions. Staples online has several promotions on top of the in-store promotions. Despite there being a large sign in the store saying "Backed by our 110% price match guarantee in store", the in-store purchases will not honor the online promotions prices. In the words of the sales associate that helped us (we waited for him because the cashier asked us to): "I'm on my lunch break right now but the best way to deal with this is to order online and come pick up an hour later." Apparently the online price match doesn't apply in store despite there being a huge sign that says it does? I don't get it. I have found the Staples store on Stevens Creek in Cupertino to be a good place to shop for office supplies. Recently I saw their advertisement for a sale item; went to the store and asked an employee to find it, which she promptly did. Then I asked for a sale of computer/printer paper, and she took me direly there so I bought a ream of 500 sheets for $7.49. The the other item was two USB thumb drives with 32 GB for $12.99, which was a little bit less for some online items and a little bit more for others. In previous times, the employees have always been helpful. Each time I have been to the Staples store, the cashier is always there. I value a business that retains its employees, which is increasingly rare these days. I urge consumers to give serious consideration to shopping at brick and mortal stores, otherwise someday they may all be gone thanks to the powerful online shopping options. Recently I checked for an item at Amazon and found their price was several dollars above that of Walmart. There is plenty of free street-level parking in front of the Staples store. read more

I would give it 1 star but because my posters came out awesome, I'll give it 2. The gentleman in the printing was super kind. He was a younger kid and very customer service oriented. However, another man standing at the counter was extremely rude. I was carrying (7) 3 ft posters and 2 rolled up banners and the associate saw me struggle and instead of telling me it was an emergency exit , he pointed me to the other exit and looked at me blank. First, this was very rude , he could have redirected me politely WITH HIS WORDS and maybe could have offered help to bring the posters to my car. Instead of pointing to the door on the other side. I was so appalled at the customer service from him. I've spent $400 at this store for my business posters and I get this kind of treatment? Hell no. I won't be back for any service here. After a huge letdown failing to find a decent and reasonably-priced office chair at Office Depot, I decided to try my luck at Staples. After all, Staples has served me well in the past. Unlike the OD store in Sunnyvale, this Staples store actually looked like a store and not a warehouse. Abysmal customer service. Ordered AirPods Pro online at the advertised 20% discount. What I got was a receipt for the item at full price. I cancelled the order, so that I dnd't get charged. Next I did a chat and that person said that they've been having problem with their system. She reordered the item for me at the promised price. When I didn't get a confirmation on the new order I did another chat. That person said, said basically, too bad we don't have anymore of this product. I did get a call from a supervisor and that person said that they really couldn't do anything for me. The implication was that it was my fault for cancelling the order even though the order was at the full price. The supervisor did offer a much smaller discount on a different product. Really poor customer service, they messed up and they should have fixed the problem that they caused. I can't stand when businesses are so dishonest. If they say they're going to do something, then do that thing; don't hide behind some excuse. The bottom line is that Staples will lose far more money from not standing up and fixing the problem since I''l never buy anything from there again than any perceived loss from having to get the product for me through another mechanism at their disposal. read more

Came in a few minutes after they opened to get 20 color copies of one piece of paper done. The only person in the copy area was one the phone and there was a growing line. The person in front of me left in disgust with the wait. Then I was told that they wouldn't be taking any more orders that day. I asked to speak to a manager, waited another five minutes, then gave up and left. I probably spend $1000 a year at this Staples but I will be taking my business elsewhere. Now, we order online or go to the store across the street. The UPS store within Staples should have longer hours. It's hard to catch them late after work. Their products are whatever you make of them, i'd personally found great deals at times, and not so great stuff that I'd find returning. What I wanna comment on today however, is their service, or in particular, the service of a kind lady - Valentina, who probably was the floor-manager / staff-in-charge of the day. I had returned an online order that I have had shipped to this location for store pickup. Order arrived on the 17th, wasn't able to pick up due to work until 22nd. One thing I had omitted to double check was whether or not the 14 days return windows was to start counting on the order arrival date or the actual pick up date; this part was my fault for assuming, and low-n-behold it was marked in the system as not returnable on 1st of next month, on the 10th day after pickup, barely 1 day after the 14th day window even from 17th arrival date. Valentina was sympathetic about the ambiguous situation I was in, and suggested me to call the staples call-center to have it escalate on their end, as they would have the authority to override/adjust such non-returnable flag based on your situation. She could have let me walk out to deal with it myself the next day as it was 8pm already, but per her suggestion I'd made the call then and there, only to hit an auto-response that their call-center is closed to general consumers. I was genuinely being thankful for all her advises and patience and apologetic for troubling them near closing time during the whole process, and she was definitely reciprocating too in her eagerness to help, since she took it to herself to call the same call-center via their land line, which we suspected was whitelisted to be directed to in-company service rep, to help me sort things out. Long story short, because it was so late she was there waiting on-hold with me forever with no reps available. She eventually took a risk and attempted to manually provide me a refund around the blockage, saving me the trouble of attempting to deal with their call-center. In my opinion I have a strong case of getting the refund myself with a call, given the ambiguity of the 14 day policy for online pickups, but Valentina was through and through wanted to make sure I was taken cared of right then and there, even if it means she may have some explaining to deal with to her higher-ups about the situation, if you get my drift. Overall, super thankful and satisfied about her above-and-beyond customer service, when she didn't have to go that extra length. I'll be coming back for misc purchase just for that alone. I've used this Staples multiple times for the past 5-6 years for printing (posters for conferences and double-sided cards for the holidays). Staffing at the store seems to be perpetually limited but the print staff are consistently cordial. I spoke on the phone with Matt C. tonight about an order placed 7 days ago (which, per the online order process, should have been ready within 3-5 business days). He confirmed it was still being processed (meaning: not ready, yet), asked when I needed the order by (holiday cards, so... the sooner, the better), and assured me he would personally be able to get the process started for me so that I could pick them up by Wednesday. I bought a chair from Staples.com and it didn't work out for me. I went to this location to return it, since that's what my invoice said I could do, and the guy at the register told me to go online and print out a label then drop it off at the UPS store. Uh, no thanks. I told the guy I was going to leave the chair there and call corporate and he told me "hold on I'm just trying to help you out." Uh huh.. More like they didn't want to process the return. After about 5 seconds he processed the return and gave me my receipt. Wasn't hard at all once he decided to process it. Came by to pick up a Staples.com order the other day and saw some interesting behavior by many. UPS showed my package as Delivered but it took 3 sales associates, 1 of which not in uniform?!? to find my package after ~10-15 minutes?!? As the phone was ringing off the hook and the intercom filled with pages informing employees that there calls coming in. Sales associate #2 just moved the handset so the phone wouldn't ring anymore?!? At the tech support counter, there was an Indian couple arguing with a couple non-uniformed employees over some type of repair services?!? that were paid upwards of $1000 and there has been no response from Staples for the last few weeks?!? My shopping experience started with a phone call to the store on a Saturday evening. Chris (Store Manager) answered my call and checked on an item for me so I can swing by on Sunday to get the price in store. On Sunday, to my surprise, there are 15-20 people showed up at the same time. Somehow they are NOT going for MY item, they are all showing up for some Mastercard no activation fee gift card. Chris thought I am one of those gift card, I showed him my item # and he said, he will take care of me after he is done with the limited gift cards in hand.
