I have been having trouble all summer long trying to keep the pool from turning green. We tried shock backwashing every other day we even got new sand in the sand filter. Eventually I decided to call the home warranty company because we thought there must be a problem with the pump because we have done everything that Leslie's pool supply recommends we have bought all the chemicals nothing was working. Aaron Pools send a technician name AJ out to my house. He was extremely knowledgeable and very helpful he was able to tell me exactly why the pool is not clearing up. I learned more about maintaining my swimming pool from AJ in 10 minutes then the last seven years combined of everyone that has been out to help me with pool maintenance. read more

Worst customer service! The receptionist was as rude as I have ever experienced. The tech didn't fix the issue and never came back.

Horrible customer service. Had them come out to my property to check my pool problem. The guy arrived but was sitting in the car talking on the phone, we were waiting and waiting and finally we came out the door to talk to the technician, but he told me to hold on (with index figure gesture), that just rude!! Why do I want any service from this company? If technician arrived, then come out do the work, not just sitting in the truck and talking on the phone!! 3 different times and 3 different techs and the last one told me he was putting in the request to get my pool system, not cleaning properly, and water leak fixed with my home warranty co. That was on 9/29 , he was suppose to call me later to update me. Didn't happen. on 10/2 my warranty co. stated the repairs were approved .Aaron pools was suppose to get a hold of me. Didn;t happen. So today 10/6/23 I went into FAHW website and it showed my claim was closed /completed. No one at any time called me from Aaron pools . I am so fed up with the bs . The pool is not getting cleaned and the Aaron pool tech put down it was just noises and the skimmer flap was stuck WHICH it wasn't, causing noises . This company is the worst , No customer service communication with me or any ifo about the problems. Like email phone call or God forbid diagnostics in writing , I am so stressed and upset !! For sure I will make sure everyone I know never calls them for their pool problems etc. Now I will have to pay another pool company, out of my pocket, to come and fix it before the algae gets worse . We have AHS for our pool equipment, and our pool pump was extremely loud. The technician came out and informed us that our bearings to the shaft are going out, and that he would have to contact AHS for approval. 6 days later we called AHS and the customer service representative said ARRON POOLS said there was nothing wrong. In short they took our money but did not fix it at all and didn't even bother to call us with an update. DISGUSTING, I will never use arron pools again, and strongly recommend finding a reputable company for your repairs. They also submitted a false claim to AHS, and told them there was nothing wrong with our pool and I heard the technician tell me what was wrong and that he knows what to say to AHS so they didn't "red flag" our problem. The worst pool company I have ever come across. I had to call them to check why they didn't show up and to my surprise they didn't even realize that their technician didn't show up. on rescheduling I had to guide their technician Daniel, send him pictures of the crack on pool filter. He was not happy that I send him pictures and reported to home warranty that the crack was not due to normal wear and tear. I ended up with 2k expense becos of this guy from Aaron pool. I should have checked the reviews before I let Aaron pool check my pool filter. I want to rate Zero but that's not an option. read more

I would not recommend Aaron Pool if you need quality work. He was suppose to fix a leaky pipe in my pool heat pump through a home insurance plan and when I asked him to schedule a technician to come back out and fix the leak his technician didn't properly fix the first time, he said I would have to open another work order through my home insurance again and would NOT honor his workmanship. They came out to fix my backwash handle and the first time I tried to use it it broke off. Literally didn't even last 1 use. When I called to have them replace it they asked me to go back through my warranty company but then I have pay the full $70 fee again. $140 total for a new handle? Both of the girls who handle the "customer service" are rude and snarky. I also don't appreciate the snarky and passive aggressive comment on this review from whoever Mike is. The bottom line is that a handle that is used only once every 90 days or so should last more than 90 days. They didn't even replace the 15 year old handle just the base which is half a$$ and shoddy work. I don't care what the policy of my home warranty is. They should back up their product. It's not the HW companies fault that they don't take pride in what they do. In short: Worthless customer service and worthless service on my pool. Don't bother with this company, I anticipate they'll be out of business within the year anyway. Good riddance. read more

I was referred by my homeowners warranty. I was told they would call within 3 hours to schedule. When I called back in 3 hours after not receiving a call, they transferred me to a very rude scheduling person. She said she'd call later or maybe Monday. I told her I was told someone would call within 3 hours, she said no you weren't. That is great, calling a perspective customer a liar. Then told me to clean my own pool till I heard from them. Don't bother. Horrible customer service, rude and calls customers liars. I notified my warranty company and switched companies. Very sad. Then I read the other comments. After being told we needed to contact the manufacturer of the pump they installed three months after they installed it, after several phone-calls they eventually determined that no, I should be speaking to them, they came out to look at the work. Claimed it was flood damage despite there being no evidence of flooding anywhere else around the pump. The tech said they would replace with a certified refit, a week later I called the office to find out what was happening, they said the tech had closed the case, but they would call me. They never called back, I gave up and went with a more reputable company for a replacement. Money down the drown, but at least it ended my relationship with this awful company. read more

Aaron pools was selected, like many other reviews, through my home warranty company. The one positive...they came out quickly. Unfortunately that is where the positives end. I was told I did not need to be home for the inspection, mistake on my part. When the technician showed up, he called me to ask what the problem was. I mentioned the key pad did not work. Also my heater was not working. A few hours later I received a call from my home warranty company stating my claim was denied. No call from the technician to explain what he found. The claim was denied for "water damage." I knew this was not the cause of my problem for a few reasons: 1.) I have weekly pool service that explained what was wrong. The only reason I did not use him for the repair was my home warranty would not cover using him. 2.) The panel is in a watertight electrical box. 3.) The screen/display works fine and so do some of the buttons. I called my warranty company back to dispute the findings. They sent another company out who immediately said the keypad needs to be replaced. I asked if it could have been from water damage and they said absolutely not. After reading other reviews it appears this is normal operating practice for them. read more

While our technician was really nice, it took them three tries out here to actually fix the problem of why our pump would not prime. It was clogged, but they would leave each time after getting it primed for a short period of time. Frustrating to have to call them to send report to warranty company, call warranty company to schedule again, call Aaron Pools to pick a date multiple times. Seems to be a trend in these reviews. Aaron pools was hired for an issue that was covered under our warranty. Our regular pool maintenance company identified a leak caused by improper repair. We called Aaron Pools and were told they will do nothing without another Warranty appt with associated fee for the trip. Really? You won't stand behind your repair? If in the end I have to pay for your faulty work, my money will go to a company that stands behind its work. I mean, even pizza delivery companies guarantee custosatisfaction. If you are going through a warrantee company DO NOT use this company. They are not your friends, they are far more interested in toadying up to the warrantee company for repeat business than servicing your pool. Very slow to respond and indifferent to you the home owner. By all means check out some of the other reviews here to get a clear picture. In the future I will be checking out the reviews of ALL the service providers assigned by the warrantee company so I don't get stuck with a turkey like this one again. read more

I've had nothing but great service from Aaron Pools for several years. They are contracted thru my warranty company and often that can be problematic with some vendors but not with A.P. Brent has been the tech on their last few visits and has gone above and beyond my expectations. Even waited on hold awhile with my warranty service when he correctly diagnosed that there was an electric issue related to my home's underground wiring and not the pump as I believed from the error codes it was indicating. Rather than kick the work order back to me, Brent told my warranty company to transfer the work order to an electrical company. tl;dr: Equipment repair service is great. Pool service gets you $20 worth of effort for $90 per month. I really wish I had read these reviews prior to scheduling these guys for weekly pool service. I had nothing but good experiences having Aaron Pools out for equipment repairs, both covered by my home warranty and out-of-pocket repairs. When I had to leave the state for work for a few months and needed someone to maintain my pool during the summer, however, I was very disappointed. Their website touts weekly pool service to include: brushing pool walls, checking water chemistry, skimming the pool surface, backwashing the filter, and checking the pool equipment. That should take longer than 15 minutes, right? I'm not sure what they use to test the chlorine and pH levels of the water, but it varies greatly in comparison to my home test kit and Leslie Pools' computer. I noticed the difference two days after they came to the house when my wife sent a picture of a green pool. According to the sheet they scribble chemical readings on, the chlorine was at a normal level and acidity a 7.0. When I called to ask if the tech would add whatever is necessary to keep my pool from being green, I could practically hear Mandi's eyes roll to the back of her head. Mind you, this was after two months of weekly service. I'd estimate the pool is swept once a month and has never been skimmed unless the visit just happened to be the day after a storm. Since I've been back, I've noticed their visit lasts an average of 10 minutes. read more

Pool water looks like a swamp. I call the Home Warranty Company (American Home Shield), it is going to be a $100 dollar service fee. Guy comes out, says I need new filters $100 apiece $500 total. Okay no big deal, I buy the new filters and pay the service charge. One week later, pool looks like a swamp again. I call the Home Warranty place again, they send out the same guy from Aaron Pools, he now tells me the water is bad and we need to replace it, that will fix the problem. Okay how much is that going to cost me? $100 Service fee, $100 for the Chemicals and $100 for the pool pump to pump out the water. Okay another $300, no big deal. One week later, pool looks like a swamp again. I call the Home Warranty Company, it is going to cost $100 again. Same guy comes out, "Oh hey, I see that you have a broken part on the bottom of your filter, the part is about $40 bucks. Once we get that fixed your water will run through the filter fine, and you should not have any problems. Total cost $100 dollar service fee plus $40 part. I asked the guy if the part was fixed the first time would the other problems have been a problem, "He says no, because the water was not filtering out it was just coming in the filter and going back into the pool, never filtering the pool that is why your pool kept turning green." Home warranty company has sent them out multiple times to replace my booster pump. Each time they write down parts numbers, but my booster pump has not been replaced or even repaired. Called them Friday for an appointment, they could send someone out on Monday. The guy showed up on time, looked professional and said it was a small part. Went back and got the part, came back and fixed the pool. I had been trying to fix the pool by myself for about 10 days, with no luck. I was really impressed that its an older pool and he didn't try to upsell me, or make it a bigger deal that it was. I trust this company as I was referred to them by a friend who also uses them. My claim to First American Home Warranty stated "Chlorinator is calcified and leaking water", I.e. the salt cell housing and/or cap was leaking. Never did I mention that it was "burned out" as you've incorrectly stated. Oh and the "puddle of water"... it was raining in Gilbert and had been for several days. I even questioned your CSR, when she called to confirm the appointment, whether the assessor would be able to adequately review the situation during the rain. Matter of fact, the pump itself works fabulously and it is not burned out nor shorted out as you've erroneously claimed. And more importantly, since your technician only was at the property less than 60 seconds, it doesn't surprise me that he didn't have time to assess the damage to the salt cell. Perhaps, you, the fabulous award-winning owner of Aaron Pools, would like to come assess the issue? Unlikely you're confident enough to accept the offer. Doubt me? I've got video's of the pump working perfectly. Where shall I post them for all to see? I'm confident you will be hearing feedback from First American Home Warranty regarding your company after they sent out an alternate assessor who provided an accurate summary of the issue. What a horrible joke. Paid $125 for service person to come out. Service man came out and left because it was raining saying he would give us a call. Never called back. When I finally called, was told the pool pump was damaged due to rain water. Well the pump stopped working several days before it started raining, and you were not hear long enough to diagnose the problem. Is it not a sealed pump not an outdoor piece of equipment that will get rained in when it rains? What a bunch of thiefs. And yes, Aaron pools diagnostics said "not normal wear and tear". This seems to be a trend on your past reviews. I'm glad you were paid to walk into and out of my back yard (I have video of the three minutes spent here). And no thanks to a "discounted pool pump". Faulty service, extremely unprofessional work if you can call it that. Left a dangerous condition which thankfully wasn't worse. Poor and deceptive workmanship. Due to improper electrical connections to the pump number one, wire was not grounded on inside of pump, two, wire housing connected to the pump was taped with electrical tape come to find out this was because the tube was broken so they hid that by taping it rather than fixing it and telling us it was an extra precaution. Due to the recent storm this was exposed as water got into the pump through the tape job burning and melting where the positive wire was connected melting wire shielding 4 inches from pump. Thankfully there was not a major house fire and our other pool equipment was not damaged as far as we know. Had another pool company come out and took these pictures. Shady work. We thought the young man that came out from Aaron Pools was very nice and honest but nope. Watch for electrical tape on jobs!! We called the company last night when this was discovered and they were closed. Also submitted a contact form on their site. The hope is they will fix the pump and take care of the sketchy work which will then be inspected by another pool company. We will post what remediation takes place and hope they take ownership and correct ASAP. See pictures. read more

Wow, super surprised to see the negative reviews, not sure if they changed things, or if some of the bad reviews are bogus, because my experience was perfect. My pool pump was making a crazy loud noise, and then just shutting off completely. Like others, I have a home warranty through Old Republic, and I placed a service request. I had previously placed a request for the same problem, and got a different company- which was a nightmare. As luck would have it, I got an email back from Old republic saying Aaron Pools was going to take care of it. About an hour after getting the email, I got a call from Stephanie, who was super friendly, and helped to get me on the schedule. The day before my appointment, I got a reminder phone call from her, and again she was very nice and answered all my questions. Today, Weston showed up to look at the pool pump. He spent time explaining what the probable causes of the failure were, and he began his diagnostics. Weston was super friendly and answered my million and one questions. After just a few minutes, he identified that the motor was cooked. My options were to put in a refurbished one, or for a minor fee get a brand new motor. I opted to get the new motor, and Weston didn't put any pressure either way, in fact he suggested going with the refurb, so I was only out the cost of the copay. Weston installed the brand new pump, and when I fired it up, I have never heard such a quiet pump, and my pool vacuum was swimming around so fast I thought it was on bath salts. I really appreciated the customer service, support, and professionalism from Weston and Aaron Pools. I would have NO hesitation in recommending them to a friend. In the world of home warranty repair, we know that it's a crapshoot, but it's nice to win once in a while, and with Aaron Pools, you have legit people taking care of your summer survival tool. Thanks Aaron Pools, I appreciate it! (Footnote. I can't help but point out the majority of the negative reviews are from people with limited or no profiles, or only one or two reviews and no photos. In the Yelp community, these are called "Orange heads" and honestly you need to strongly consider the validity of their reviews. They could just as easily be employees of a competing business. Absolutely the WORST customer service and LEAST professional business I've ever dealt with. Run the other way and spend your money elsewhere!!!!!!!!! They installed a pool light at my home and it shattered less than 10 months later. When I called them to see if it was still under warranty, they advised that it was under warranty by the product manufacturer and gave me the name and number of the manufacturer to contact them. Very helpful. I called the manufacturer and they agreed to replace the light. When the company they had contracted to install it for me came out, they said that it wasn't even the correct brand of pool light. So, I had spent weeks working with the wrong manufacturer because of information provide by AARON POOLS - THE COMPANY THAT INSTALLED IT TO BEGIN WITH. I had to pay a service trip fee to the company that came out, which was money out of my pocket due to the incorrect information provided by AARON POOLS. I contacted Aaron Pools to let them know about the error. The two people I spoke with - one person who worked in the office and another a manager - both got immediately defensive and started questioning my story, as if they didn't believe me. The manager, Mike, told me that there is no way they would even know what brand of light they installed??? How is that even possible? Do they not keep records? Even so, if that WAS the case, someone from their office confidently advised me on what brand of light it was and how to contact that manufacturer. And she never ONCE said that she wasn't sure if it was the correct information. At the VERY least, I deserved an apology for getting incorrect information from an employee of the company. I have NEVER felt so disrespected or unappreciated as a customer. I have no idea how this company stays in business. read more

Was refered to Aaron pools by First American Home Warranty. I put in my claim on Wednesday morning and followed up with a call to schedule an appointment. I left a message. No response back. I contact them Thursday morning and a female answered. I provided her with my name and address and told her I left a message as well as a refer from fahw was sent over. She stated that she was working on Tuesdays call backs and would give me a call in order. I asked her would that be today. She stated "I don't Know". I said thanks but no thanks! Aaron pools came to fix a home warranty repair on my pool. The service tech tried to sell me something not needed and then finished the job poorly after 2 weeks of waiting. No pressure gauge on filter they replaced, no access to empty my sand from my filter without a saw. They took short cuts where they could and took the $250 paid by the warranty company (he told me what he was paid) and spent about 20 dollars of his time and less in parts to do what he called "the minimum amount required", but not as much as should have. Poor customer service and they look to do things as cheaply as possible, be careful. There are better Ahwatukee pool companies. read more
