Grabbed some takeout when we were in the area. Everything was delicious! We got saag paneer, chicken shahi korma, shrimp biryani, chicken tikka masala, and 3 types of naan. Everything was flavorful. Let's start with the good. The food is ok, on a scale of 1-10 it's a 6. I went in today for lunch, and the service was absolutely atrocious. I asked for the lunch thali plate that I have ordered multiple times, but today it wasn't available. $23 dollars later(yes, $23 for lunch). The server/owner was rude, detached, and loudly watching videos on her phone. Anything you asked her for, she rolled her eyes. It's clear that this establishment doesn't care about service, or work ethic. Do yourself a favor and eat somewhere that wants your business. I will never return again. read more

Food is good but the service is horrible. They seem to always have an attitude and when I order pickup. I sometimes get extra sauce and willing to pay for it but they still get upset when I ask. They get upset and try to just give me one sauce for $2 when I know they have given other people extra for free. The food isn't as good as the Indian restaurant in Clifton but it's delicious. They really need to work on service because I know they must be loosing some business. I try not to order her because they are rude and I hate that they have a nasty attitude when I always give a nice tip and always respectful because they are handling my food. read more

I was so excited to see something other than a chain opening on the West Side. I have been a little afraid to try AAP. Afraid it would be like many other West Side eateries. I went ahead and ordered the lunch buffet. It was everything I was hoping it would be. The number of offerings was decent. I tried everything but the soup and items to make a salad. Each dish had it's own distinct flavor. When I say flavor, I mean a whole lot of it. Strong and bold, just as one would expect from a good Indian restaurant. The Naan was pillows-y soft. The sweetness of the tamarind sauce went well with many dishes. I particularly enjoyed the fish. It was flaky and moist. Many members of the staff stopped by to say hello. So much so that I was unsure who my waiter actually was. I look forward to sharing this restaurant with the rest of my family. read more

What a Yelp let down. After reading the reviews of AAP I was all set for some good Indian grub. Alas, I was mightily disappointed. First the good, The restaurant was VERY clean and décor authentic. Service was good and friendly. The not so good, I arrived at 11:20 am the first patron. I walked over to scope out the limited buffet. The food display was appealing and I grabbed a plate and grabbed a sample of most of the offerings. I expected since I was the first in the food would be piping hot... wrong. Every dish was warm to cold. The only meat were four chicken dishes no lamb or goat :( The spice level was nonexistent, flavors were timid. The iced tea was not fresh brewed. I am used to a larger buffet offering with more authentic tastes and spices and hot food at New Krishna. I will not return to this place. read more

I come here a few times a month, because the food is reliably good and the service is always very strong. It's definitely a small business and run by the nicest people. Their garlic naan is 10/10 and the portions are very large. I also like their lunch special, which comes with an assortment of items. I have tried the chicken tikka masala, saag paneer, Aloo matar and all are popular and delicious. But don't miss the bhaigan bhartha, gobi Manchurian and chili chicken. I have been here several times now because holy crap you guys it's Indian on the West Side! I've had dinner and the buffet- can't speak to carry out. Vegetable samosas here are the best I have ever had. Saag is very good. The naan is good and huge portions. Buffet has a good selection. Chicken dishes are always tender. Prices slightly high end of average, but you can get 2-3 meals of it. Service was a bit rocky at first but much improved already. Already becoming a regular, for sure. So glad they opened! read more

When you eat at an ethnic restaurant and you see people of that ethnicity eating there, that's usually a good sign. We really enjoy Aap India in our house. It's classic North Indian style food (read = heavy on the cream and flavor) and they do a terrific buffet. Some Indian buffet's don't include much meat, but Aap does and they do a great job of ensuring it's refilled when it gets low - even when you arrive towards the end of the lunch buffet as we have before. I absolutely love India food but the recipies they use are not good at all. My favorite dish Chicken Makhani is thin watery and gross there. All they need to do is order that dish and others from Ambar or try Maya in Price hill and learn how to improve your recipes. No one is ever there not sure how they stay in business. read more

We love AAP India and have been coming here for years. The food has remained consistently good. I enjoy dining in to get the Tandoori Chicken or Sikh (sort of like a lamb gyro kabob) which comes out on a sizzling plate of onions and peppers. They are very good about making my hubby's favorite, Saag Choley, with coconut milk to be vegan. For appetizer, try Chan Ki Chat which has chickpeas in a lovely tamarind savory-sweet sauce. AAP uses real cardamom pods in the rice, very authentic, just be sure to eat around them! read more

My first day in Cincinnati, was looking for some Indian food and while checking Yelp came across this restaurant. Going by the previous reviews it looked great but eek , the biryani (if at all if call I it one) is pathetic. It was just some left over lamb curry mixed with some rice and served with a tomato on top. In my lifetime I am seeing a biryani with a tomato on top. The rice was overcooked and smashed. I just felt like gulping someones puke. I can't comment about the other items in their menu, but going my this biryani this will be the last Indian restaurant in my list in Cincinnati read more

Been here before and the food is pretty good. But I wouldn't say it is one of the best Indian restaurants in Cincinnati. The quandary today is they clearly state buffet for $8.99 on the front window. There are even post that refer to the fact there $8.99 is for the entire week. But buyer beware when I went to pay he told me it is $10.99 on the weekend. And I said to myself it's only two dollars more but after thinking I wonder why my server did not point that out and why it is not clearly stated on the front sign on their window. For me it's not the money it's the principle you should charge what you say you're charging. Lesson learned if they're cheating at the register what are they doing in the kitchen? Indian on the west side?! Yes folks, you heard me right. Not only is the location convenient, but the food is down right amazing, up there with the Clifton Indian joint you may be familiar with. I'm ashamed to say I've never actually ate in here, but take it to go nearly once a week. Chicken shahi korma and a garlic naan are my go to. Tastes the same every time, with the spice level always on point. I get a spice level 4 and it's just enough. Service has always been great and food is always ready within the 15-20 minute time frame I'm given. read more

This place has really fantastic Indian food and pretty good service. No Taco Bell reminders in this place (previous building tenant)! I ordered the Lamb Rogan Josh, spicy level 4, at the server's recommendation, and my husband ordered the Lamb Biriyani, spice level 1. We also ordered an appetizer of vegetable samosas and garlic naan. All of the food was delicious! I had never had either of the dishes we ordered, so when they came, we tried both and ended up switching because my husband liked the rogan josh better. The lamb in both dishes was tender and perfectly seasoned. I liked the biriyani, but if I had ordered it for myself, I would have upped the spice level. We should have ordered more naan to go since we ate all of it at the restaurant and needed some for all of the leftovers. It was light and airy and a perfect complement to the spices. The samosas were good too, but almost too large to be an appetizer. I'm used to something half the size of what we got. I loved mixing the chutneys together to dip the samosa into. The service is pretty great too. Our waiter was Cameron, who was very knowledgeable about the dishes and was able to direct us to the perfect meal based on what we liked. I was annoyed by the sheer number of people that came by the table to ask if we wanted a refill of water or pop. You could tell from our glasses that we didn't need any, so please stop asking. It would have been better if Cameron was the only one at our table, since he was always there at the perfect time to take care of us. I think they've been compensating for the previous reviews of not enough service, so I'm sure over time, they will even out. The food is pricier than the places in Clifton, but so worth it and the portions are huge! I have had three meals out of my biriyani. This place is fantastic. Just Wow. Authentic menu, interior design, and of course, delicious traditional dishes. Made to order and comes out mouthwateringly hot. Big portions, so be prepared to share and order an extra order of naan. My sister and i celebrate special occasions here. Its a little pricey but it's worth the submersive experience. Just opened last week my bf and I happened to stumble on this afternoon. First of all, I am not giving three stars because of the food quality. I was really good! I had the ginger chicken, I've never seen it on an Indian Restaurant menu; it was creamy, tangy, and perfectly spicy (think 3 out of 6). Their regular chicken curry was delish as well! But not any spicier than mine and it was supposed to be 4 out of 6. The food gets five stars hands down. I just wish the staff was as awesome. The hostess was very rude and impatient. She rushed us to order but when we were ready she asked us to wait until the waiter (and owner) finished a personal call in the dining area no less. While I can deal with poor service, I get it they just opened and are still figuring everything out,- the food is ridiculously over priced. 30$ for two curries? Finally, finally, finally! The West side of Cincinnati hasn't seen food that could be described as Indian since the Shawnee were forced out of these parts 170 years ago. (And there weren't any curries on that menu.) Now we have the real "Indian as distilled for Americans" thing. In an unlikely building that used to sling up pseudo-Mexican, pseudo-food-fit-for-human-beings as a Taco Bell. While you can guess the building's previous identity from its shape, all traces of the former stomach-distress factory disappear once you enter. It's been tastefully remodeled with a fully enclosed kitchen and a nice little bar that serves the Indian beers and basic wines that you would expect. The menu is a bit more diverse than the run of the mill Indian restaurants in the area -- it's very similar to Swad, now one of my favorites-- and like Swad, the spicing has a nice authenticity and the execution of the dishes we tried was solid. The young servers were a little unpolished but friendly and extremely earnest. And praise be to Shiva, the place was crowded. Proving, again, that west siders will support good ethnic food if you give us a chance. read more

Indian on the west side! I've been wanting to try this since they opened a few months ago and finally made it last week for lunch. They've done a great job with the remodel. You would never realize this was once a Taco Bell unless you've spent several long minutes waiting for your taco order at 1 am like I have in the past. Everyone I dined with had the buffet and it was solid. Plenty of good options and I left satisfied with what I paid for considering the quality of the food. I really enjoy good Indian food so I have just a few critiques. The sang paneer I've had at other places had a lot more cheese cubes. Here I had to look pretty hard to find any. They have to add garlic naan to the buffet. They have regular, but surely it can't be hard to have a couple options. Overall a solid restaurant, good service, and a place that deserves some Yelp love. read more
