Food was amazing! Chicken Korma and Tikka Masala very authentic. Well priced and friendly staff

So whenever I go to an Indian restaurant, my go-to to check the baseline is to get a chana masala, spice level hot. I was in Cincinnatti for work and wanted to find some Indian that evening, and Flavors n Spices was right down the road from my hotel. Went in, and the the service was friendly and pleasant, the atmosphere was just nice enough that you got a sense that you are Eating Out, and the restrooms are really clean. So it was already doing well even before I ordered. I opted for the chana masala, and when the server said that the spice levels were mild, medium, and hot, I opted for hot. She did due dilligence and asked if I was sure I wanted hot, and then took my order and delivered some incredibly tasty chana masala that had the combo of flavor, spice, and burn that I love. Deep, rich flavor to the masala, and the garlic naan that I ordered alongside it was also excellent. Server checked on me frequently while I was eating, and kept my water full. All told, great experience if you're interested in getting Indian. Highly recommend. read more

I'm really disappointed and I definitely won't order from here again. I paid $22 for a lamb biryani, and there were only a few pieces of meat on the plate. It honestly felt like I ordered a plate of rice with just a sample of lamb. Very disappointing and a waste of money. read more

Came here to try out a new Indian restaurant and bring my friend to give Indian food another shot. I heard of this place online and have been meaning to check it out so came here after a wine tasting and before I went out to a birthday celebration. It was easy to get seated right away. They have plenty of tables and a very extensive bar as well. The staff was friendly and our server was great. They are very attentive to filling water and checking in on you. I've eaten may Indian dishes so was wanting to try something different and asked the server for his reco. He said if I'm wanting to be adventurous finding's ribs so I did. Got the 6 piece tandoori ribs which comes with a few thin well seasoned potato skins and then an chilli honey sauce. The safe was amazing and made the dish the tips were very tender and pulled right off the bone. This is definitely a spicy dish with the chili honey sauce but without, anyone can eat them as the tandoori flavor was not spicy. The waiter saw I loved the sauce so much he brought me another as I was drenching the ribs in the sauce. The dish is not too filling though as I wish they had give. A bit more fries and an actual side salad vs. just the garnish of greens below it. Normally when you eat the curry dishes you get full with leftovers but this was just enough food. I got the pistachio ice cream for dessert which was absolutely delicious. It's homemade and you can tell as it's got the rich creamy taste. My friend got the saag paneer. She did not have a great first experience with Indian food as she doesn't really like the curry flavor but I knew she would like something by like the saag as the spinach and onion flavor is more powering than any of the curry spices. I she loved it! So glad I could make that happen so we can go to other Indian places. I will be back to try some other dishes and see what other new things I can try and also try some of the classic dishes I love like special chicken tikka masala to see if they do it different. read more

If you're lucky--and management decides you've earned their blessing--you might score the only two-top by the window. First the good: Best chicken biryani we have had anywhere in the U.S., the chicken momo was flavorful with a good steamed dumpling chewy texture and spicy dipping sauce. They asked what level of spice I wanted and I opted for mild, because I wasn't sure what their scale was, and the mild biryani was what I'd have deemed a 4/10 medium on a spice scale but my partner rated it 6/10. The not-as-good but still pretty good: the chicken tikka masala tasted a lot like curried tomato soup to me (sweet, but missing the creamy profile that I expect of chicken tikka masala). The chicken in the dish was very tender and flavorful--which tells me the tandoori chicken is probably amazing there--but the tikka masala sauce was not quite what I expected. It would have been really good with a grilled cheese. It was mild-mild (no spice level that I could discern, but flavorful). I see in Google reviews that other people loved it. The naan quality was similar to what I've gotten when I buy premade, packaged naan rather than freshly made. It had char marks, but wasn't fluffy with air pockets, more the texture of a pancake. Flavor was good. Service was friendly and fast (25 mins for the above dishes). Food here was tremendous! I highly recommend the tikka masala (so creamy and buttery) and the makhani (slightly warmer with cashews for a crunchy delight) as two standout dishes. I recommend trying the dishes at the mild spice level and then working your way up the heat levels with a dish at a time. Service was attentive and very gracious to all customers. I had been excitedly waiting for Flavors n Spices to open so that there would be an Indian food place downtown, and I was even more excited once I tried it. Every dish we've tried has been top notch - and it's all wonderfully spicy. The chicken 65 appetizer is as spicy as we were warned it would be, and I try to order it every time I've eaten here. The uncommon dishes we've tried have also been delicious - the fish Konkani, the lamb and black lentils, the fish madras, and gongura chicken. Our only disappointment was that they were out of the gongura mutton, but we will be back to try it soon. A wonderful addition to the downtown dining scene! read more

This place is incredible. Very friendly and welcoming staff with a warm inviting atmosphere. The food was delicious, one of the best meals we've had during our time in the city. Spice was a tad hotter than I'm used to getting ( medium) so I'd opt for mild next time. You definitely need this food in your life, it was like a hug for your insides. read more

Probably the best experience I've had at a restaurant Downtown ever. Fantastic service. White table cloth, candle at your table. Prompt refills on water. Delicious food that is not just a facsimile of every other Indian restaurant in town (and at a lower price point!). While I will forever miss Haru Korean, which used to be in this location, it's replacement, Flavors and Spices, is delicious. The lunch menu, while not as lengthy as the dinner menu, had plenty to choose from and the portions were perfectly sized. The kurma was something new to me and I thoroughly enjoyed it. And the makhani was amazingly good. I am looking very forward to getting a chance to try out their larger dinner menu and especially getting to try out their weekend specials. If you enjoy Indian food, you should absolutely give this a try. read more

Downtown has been missing an Indian restaurant for quite a while, so I was happy to see Flavors N Spices open. I went to lunch with a group of four. There were other customers there, but it wasn't crowded. We were seated quickly. I had the Chicken Makhani, and enjoyed it very much.
