AAA Smart Home is terrible. Safeguard used to be excellent but as soon as they were bought by AAA Smart Home, it went downhill quickly. Their customer service is THE WORST. They keep you on hold forviever (the message ALWAYS says "wait times are currrently longer than normal", you put in your number for a call back and no one ever bothers to call you back. I finally gave up and called the sales team line and had them go get me someone in customer service. When I finally got customer service, I brought up how no one had called me back, and the lady literally said "Uh-huh". That's it. No "sorry about that" or anything. Just a basic "I don't care" response. Now I'm on the hunt for a new alarm company. BUYER BEWARE. read more

We just completed an installation of our home security system by AAA Smart Home. The installation people arrived on time, stayed until the job was done - which took significantly longer than planned due to the age and condition of our home - and were friendly, professional, and helpful the entire time. I highly recommend their system and services. read more

I have a Voicemail from this company saying I've commented a non-bailable offense and to connect to the concerned officer press a number. With all the current scams (fake IRS or SS) I try to mess with scammers if I have the time. I clicked over to find it is this security company. AAA or A3 whatever name you currently go by shame on you good way to make yourself look like a complete joke. I would encourage everyone not to do business with a company that encourages these business practices read more

I've been very pleased with my SmartHome system! The team is lovely - both at HQ and those who are sent out for installation. The tools work very well. I haven't had an emergency yet, so I'm not sure what will happen if the alarm goes off past the time it's taken me to disarm it when I've accidentally set it off (*haha*). I guess that will be the final test. So far, though, I'm glad I chose AAA over other options I considered. read more

Lied to me about my existing system could no longer be monitored unless I upgraded. Charged almost $600.00, tried to gouge me for $600.00 more during installation. System hasn't worked properly since it was installed. Three repairmen have been out and they still can't get it to work right. Now I want them to reinstall my old system, give me a refund and I'll hire a different company to monitor. Their repair supervisor "Lou" won't return my calls. Look out for these guys. No ethics, lousy customer service. By the way, this "Ashley" person who answers these Yelp complaints to smooth ruffled feathers and who told me to expect a contact from her to get this problem fixed, has NEVER contacted me except here in Yelp to tell me to expect a contact. So much for "Ashley." read more

Awesome value for money. Installation is free, and our installer, Bobby Fernandez, was very knowledgeable, thorough. Our sales rep Abdi is very professional and doesn't push for unnecessary things. Overall a very good experience so far. read more

AAA Smart Home purchased Safeguard Security and they are going through some major transitions which are resulting in very poor customer service. The home office in Scottsdale has a group of employees they kept from Safeguard and they clearly are not happy about it. When you call them you are on hold forever. We have had to call twice last week because one of our sensors is broken and we were on hold for 42 minutes 1 time, and over an hour the second time. Once we finally got through they then transfer you and you are on hold for another long period. We told them our problem and they sold us a replacement piece. It was delivered and was the wrong piece. We called again and they were so rude when we told them they sent us the wrong piece. We needed an exchange and told us that now one of the techs could bring it out to us and install for $99.00 plus the replacement piece. You just have to stick it on the window. The tech that came out was very nice-that is the only reason they received 2 stars. read more

if we could rate as zero stars, we would. the customer service process is broken. when a sensor goes offline, be prepared for countless calls from an automated system, which truly serve no purpose. we are in the process of trying to get a technician out for said sensor, and they have cancelled twice (actually, no show/no call). it's been three weeks, which means three weeks of automated, pointless calls literally 12 times a day. we found another company and are switching ASAP. stay away from this circus of a company if at all possible. read more

Thanks to the power of Yelp James was sent to our home today and he resolved the issue in about 15 minutes. I've been trying to get someone scheduled for nearly three weeks. James handled everything efficiently and thoroughly. Our rating of AAA will slowly increase as we begin seeing more results like this. read more

I've been a Safeguard customer for years. AAA Smart Home purchased Safeguard a few years ago. Like any new acquisition, there are always challenges and hurdles. The key to running an efficient business, is employing an excellent team of people. I cannot say enough good things about one of the AAA employees I've been working with. His name is Jack Huddleston. Jack is thoughtful and always answers our calls for help. He provides great ideas and options for our personal security needs. Jack always makes sure you're personally happy with the work he's done. Jack gets 5 stars! read more

AAA Smart home tried to charge me for services I did not sign up for. When I call them about this they told me I still owed them even though I did sign up with them because they were monitoring my system for a month. When I told them I would not pay for the month they threatened me that I would be charged over a thousand dollars instead. These people are crooks and are no different then the fake IRS scams, customer service scams, or any of the others. STAY AWAY!!!!!!! read more

Where do I start... I've been a member since 2018 with "safe/Brinks/aaa smarthome" and since June 2020 something happened in the process of this company being bought out by a3 smarthome. I as many other I'm sure continued to make on time payments via bill pay and to my knowledge I assumed my invoices were being paid.. Negative!! I received an invoice in the mail saying I missed 2 monthly payments. Being that the payments are 44.99 a month I doubled up on payments as I hate being late or behind on payments. Fast forward to Sept where I received another invoice saying I'm now 3 months behind when again I made on time payments the same way I've been making them since 2018. I've spoken to over 4 agents in the last 5 months with no resolution to my problem. I have sent confirmation checks from bank of america to show proof, check numbers and the front of the check via my bank statements. Still nothing has been processed to my account with a3 smarthome. If you're still reading this and wondering why didnt this guy speak or request a manager.. WELL GOOD LUCK!! Managers in this company seems to be non existent quite frankly! There was a SN agent who was very pleasant but the only thing I was told which has been the exact same as other agents "I'll send this information to my accounting department. Alyssa and Candice are the two names I can remeber. Candice is super nice but in this situation that doesnt help me. Alyssa gave up after 3 months of trying to assist. 6 MONTHS AND NOW MY PAYMENT IS OVER $280.. WHILE I'M MAKING PAYMENTS UNBELIEVABLE!!! Please do not fall into the trap of doing business with this company. Email BELOW IS from a representative. Mr. Green, Thank you for sending this to me. I have added this to your profile and will let you know what our findings are when I hear back from our accounting department. Again, I am sorry for the misleading information. Thanks, read more

Had a new upgrade added to my existing alarm on the 13th of July. Gentry, was the tech who came to do the install. All I can say is that I wish all companies were as professional as he was. Great install, very neat, very clean and could not ask for a better install. Also, by the way Gentry was very anal about how things look reminded me of me. Best install, and great company. I cannot say enough about Gentry, he is differently an asset. read more

We've been with this company since before they were bought and I must say, they've really gone down hill since they were acquired by AAA. The equipment is temperamental and we've had to call for service multiple times. We've had false alarms. Their customer service is not good, requiring several calls to get to the right department. In a world where you can decide where to spend your money, I'd use a different company. We have also used ADT and they are far superior on every level. read more

I was originally a customer of Safeguard Security, but am now with AAA. The transition to AAA has been horrible. I just started a remodel of my home and needed them to disengage our security system as we are replacing everything in the house. I am still constantly getting robo-calls from the company saying the system is not responding to their system (NO KIDDING!!!). Despite calling three times and having to wait on hold to try to rectify it, no one can seem to solve the issue. The last person I spoke with said they were taking care of it and transferred me to sales so that I can buy a new system from them. I was originally intending to do that, but I hung up after 10 minutes waiting on hold to talk to sales...which is weird right?!?! I would think sales would want to talk to me...but I guess not. I am fairly certain that I will not be replacing my security system with AAA. I am currently on hold with customer service to again try to stop them from monitoring the system while it is under construction and am and 11th in the queue. I started at 14th in the queue and it has been 10 minutes. This is insane. I also forgot to mention that on Monday, they sent the fire department to my house as their system though the house was on fire. This was after multiple calls that the house is under construction and to please stop monitoring while under construction. The fire dispatcher was not pleased when I talked with her. Update: Still on hold. It has been 51 minutes on hold. This is awesome...NOT Update: Still on hold. It has been 66 minutes on hold. Update: after 68 minutes on hold, I talked to a person (yeah). They saw that my system was in test mode, and agreed I should not be receiving robo calls any more. The individual placed me on hold and he tried to called technical support to stop the robo calls (who was I talking to?). He came back after a few minutes saying that no one was answering in that department (the story of my life). I decided to cancel my service. Unfortunately, I have to wait for another department to call me back in 24-48 hours to do that. OMG you have to be kidding me. Well, we will see if anyone calls. I will update again once (if?) I receive a call...ugh! So cancelling is out. There seems to be a lovely contract in place. It may actually be worth paying the monthly fee with no service to get to a better company. Jessica - I asked the cancellation lady to have someone from the correct department call me out turning off the long term service instead of the only one week service holds. Can you please have someone call me to make sure that happens. I am not sure one department communicates well with others. Thanks! read more

When we transitioned to another gate company, AAA Smart Home refused to give us passwords to the equipment we own, nor would they give us our resident's data base. I feel as if they are holding our information hostage in an effort to force us back to using them. read more

I had a service from them for 3 years undercontract they, couldn't keep the system operational 50% of the time ( that's being optimistic) then when the contact expired I told them I would not renew and for them to remove the equipment. They charged me for another 3 month service, after they removed the equipment. I disputed it with the credit card company and a3 told them they were still providing the service. My advice is never do business with these crooks. I guess I am going to have to get a lawyer to get my money back. read more

They are all helpful and friendly while they are taking your money and installing your system, and while you are paying for monitoring. After a few years and sending them thousands of dollars, we stopped the monitoring. Now we need service, willing to pay for it, yet they refuse to service a system they are not monitoring, even though they installed it. Worst customer service. read more

This company is terrible! They bought out my old provider and I called to cancel my service after my 2 yr contract expired. Well these geniuses signed me up for another year that I didn't use their services. Now they want 900$ for something I cancelled in 2020. Stay far away from these scammers not only do they steal from people during a pandemic but then they are extremely rude and ignorant. Will be contacting the better business bereua for this Fraudulent corporation. read more

How would you like to wake up at 5 a.m. with the Fire Department at your front door, called by your 'security' company - only there was no emergency! The alarm was not even set! When I tried to delve into the cause of this I got a 'communication error' by AAA Smart Home but nothing substantial to explain why this happened and why they called the Fire Department. I could not even get them to return my call and after the 4th day of calling with no call back, I terminated service. Brian was totally non-responsive and didn't even have the courtesy to return my calls for an explanation - and to ensure it wouldn't happen again. Going to another company, stay away from this one! read more

Recently had my security panel changed out by Jack H. He was wonderful. Extremely helpful, polite and efficient. We upgraded our system. I was very impressed by our Sales Representative, Matthew G., and his professionalism and follow-through in getting us scheduled. Apparently they have bought out local Crime Alert in Sacramento. From the consumer lens, this has been the worst experience ever and we are just 6 to 10 days in. Cant get a straight answer from anyone. oh but hey after only 6 days of this buy out I received a past due billing from AAA. wth. they will "look into it". just a song and dance. have no idea what vortex my payments have landed. have no idea who is monitoring my alarm. have no idea who to contact for tech issues. or reset false alarms. have no idea if sheriff will dispatch if my alarm goes off, no personal service anymore which is why I CHOSE to do business with a local company. just a 1-800 bureaucratic consumer nightmare. I recently just inquired home security from AAA through phone call and I talked to Abdi Mohamoud and he explained everything crystal clear, and the fact that you don't have to pay anything upfront is a big plus since we are moving to a new place, and the monthly bill is more than worth the price for what you are getting. read more

AAA Smart Home customer service for existing clients is terrible. I have been a client of Safeguard in Arizona since 1994 and found their service between good and excellent. Since AAA bought Safeguard the service has deteriorated significantly. Trying to get tech service is impossible even though I am paying for "worry free warranty". The new billing system fails to remind you that you are on auto pay and shows an amount due. Today when calling the customer experience number, the number is not available. Seems they are good at sales and installation. Worry about what happens when you have a problem. read more

I have been on hold for 30 minutes with AAA SmartHome. I was a Safeguard customer who was very happy with their customer service and responsiveness. I should not have to wait on the phone this long to get service. I need someone to come out to my home and service my system. After reading the other reviews about long term customers being dissatisfied with current service, I think rather than waste my time I will just find a new service. No doubt they will charge me for the service check up so might as well invest the $$ with a new service. read more

The A3 Smart Home security company actually deserves no stars, but one had to be checked. My original account was with Safe Security purchased by A3 and working with all the same accounts. When I moved out of the country I ended my contract and paid all outstanding payments. The company then continued to delete funds from my bank account for 3 additional months. They refuse to refund my money to me even after 2 years. I have been requesting a refund for over 26 months and although 'member experience' tells me the money is owed and will be sent by mail, it never happens. I have spoken to over 14 employed representatives who give me dates, check numbers and assurances that my money will be refunded however they have all lied. The company persists in their unethical and seemingly unflinching narrative to defraud me of monies owed. read more

AAA smart home has been awesome. From sales to installation, everything was a breeze. Could not be more satisfied. Highly recommend

My wife and I decided to set up a full integrated home security system including multiple outside cameras, indoor cameras, motion sensors, window and door sensors, garage door controls, CO2 and smoke detectors and flood/water leak detectors. We had a couple of other companies give us bids before AAA Smart home was available and neither of the other two companies were as cost effective and as complete of a package for the price point within our budget as AAA Smart Home! The entire process was very simple and the installers were very knowledgeable, professional and had their protective gear on (gloves, mask and booties for their shoes). I highly recommend AAA Smart Home system to anyone looking for either a basic system or a more comprehensive system like the one that is now protecting my family. read more

The alarm company I used was acquired by AAA Smart Home, and they recently installed a new Alarm system panel in my home. The installation was flawless. The installer, Rayleen was outstanding-- very professional, very thorough and very knowledgeable. She made sure I understood the new panel and how it worked, she tested every contact and made sure everything was working correctly before she left. She wore booties on her shoes so as not to bring anything into the house, and also wore gloves and a mask. I am very impressed with the service and communications I have received so far. read more

I was a prior ADT customer and was very unhappy with the install and service. I recently went with AAA as I have been a 61 years member. I called to ask for help in disconnecting an old SafeGuard system after we bought our house. Contrary to other reviews here, I did not experience any wait times while transferring around a couple of the departments. Safeguard was bought by AAA Smart Home. We love the new console for our alarm. We think and hope AAA will be even better than Safeguard.

We switched from Brinks mostly based on price and the discount we got since we are already AAA customers for roadside service. We are happy with the package, the up to date equipment, and the installation team. A few days after installation we got a follow up call to see if everything was alright and if we had any questions. The caller couldn't answer my questions, but a technician called within a few hours and got me squared away. So far so good. read more

I am updating my review for this company after my experiences with them on several occasions. First, after I wrote my initial review I was contacted the next day by several individuals apologizing and trying to rectify the situation. Kim Rosenthal was my primary contact and was so great to work with. She listened, never interrupted, never tried to make excuses, never tried to take advantage of me. She simply wanted to help and that's what she did. After exposing the major concerns I had, it was clear there needed to be procedural reviews internally to ensure no one else had to deal with the same issues I faced. I have been contacted by several top level executives at AAA to ensure this is being done. It seems like they all actually care about improving the processes and procedures they follow as a company and I now have a better relationship and confidence in their services. Although my initial experience with AAA may not have been the greatest, since then, it's clear they are on my side and want to strive to better themselves for it. I appreciate not only their candor but their willingness to right their wrongs. read more

The whole process of dealing with this company on all levels have been one of the worst experiences I have had with any service company. From the beginning with sales stating we needed a new panel to adapt to the 5G system which required a new 3 year contract to pay for the panel. We specifically stated we did not want automatic payments and was assured (repeatedly by the salesperson) there would not be any. That was not the case, automatic payments were noted in the contract, after several phone calls and multiple levels of managers the automatic payments were removed from the contract. Installation day comes and after 3 technicians, 1 week of issues (false motion alarms, false fire alarms) and many, many calls not returned. It is determined that our motion sensors will not work with the new panel and it will be an additional 300.00 to install new sensors on top of the 500.00 for the panel. We balked at the additional 300.00 and was offered a split. We refused and requested our old panel to be reinstalled. It has now been 2 weeks with no motion sensors and we still do not have a date for them to come out to reinstall the old panel. They have been called daily requesting an re-installation date. I would NOT recommend this company! read more
