I have been with Safeguard Security for many years. I had very good service both with billing and technical support. However, that changed since they have sold to AAA Smart Home. In May we sold our vacation home and I requested to have service stopped as of the close date. I was billed on the next two bills for this home. I called at least four times to get the situation resolved. I finally thought it had been resolved until I accidentally set off the alarm at my full time residence. I discovered then that my home was not being monitored. They had removed my permanent home from my account instead of my vacation residence! Customer service with this company is a nightmare! I am stuck with them for another 30 days because of my contract. You would think after all this they would at least let me out of that. read more

We were with Safeguard for years and very happy but discontinued our service over a year ago.(March2019)Then one day we started getting bills from this company which we have no relationship with and have tried MULTIPLE times to tell them we are not customers of theirs. We also are getting bills from the Phoenix police because they are calling them when the"alarm goes off" despite the fact that the alarm is not even on! This of course is always around 2:30 am in the morning. This is getting to be harassment and we may have to take legal action. read more

We Previously had Safeguard but AAA Smart Home took over the services. In June my mom received a bill for $641 with no explanation. She called AAA Smart Home and requested they cancel her service as she does not want to use them and had never signed up with them. They said they were unable to cancel her service without her paying first. You would think if you don't pay they cancel your service instead they demand payment when you don't pay to cancel the service? Regardless my mom sent a check and payed and asked that they cancel. The check was cashed and on July 24th they sent her the same bill again!! She called and asked that they cancel her service and that she had already paid them. She told them she already had and they could not find the record of it yet the check was sent back with the bill, and was cashed. You would think they could find a record of a bill they cashed but nope they couldn't figure that out and my mom got upset with them and eventually was hung up on. She was however promptly called by a supervisor who said he would look into it, he said he would call her the following Monday. It has now been 2 weeks and she has not heard from anyone. Cancelling a service should not be this difficult. Stay away from this company unless you want to be stuck in a plan you can't cancel! read more

AAA Smart Home recently upgraded my home security system. The technicians were very professional. My system is working better than ever.

Not a great place to do business with-sales force truly does not understand what the words "wired" and "wireless" mean-if you use Google and Chrome browsers you cannot see live action-you must use Microsoft Edge-there is a limit of 3000 clips for every billing period and an extra monthly charge for more shots or clips-Our isuues are we were without service for 6 days we are vulnerable folks in our 80's and semi isolated in a rural area and of course an AAA customer for 40years or more-so why not go with AAA-that as it turned out was the biggest mistake we have ever made ! We are very sad and hurt by the way tis entire episode has unfolded-First instance was entering into their "password Hell"- 2 hours and finally fixed !! Please if you are considering AAA for your safety consider a different choice-It is only a sales organization that will constantly apologise for our problems-this is NOT the company you would want to deal with as not all facts/figures will be given to you -truly "bait and switch"-Supposed to get a call today 9/27/2021 from a supervisor to address our concerns-this system was installed on 9/1/2021 and we do not know what the day will bring-We so wanted a great company and service and that is why we chose AAA-we do not think AAA is well represented here and it is not the AAA we have known since the beginning-There is a lot wrong here and we hope you do not find out later what you did not know until after the fact --We are truly disappointed and remain very insecure in our intent to safegauard our premises and lives-we have been caught up in the biggest scam ever-! read more

Had great expectations only to be disappointed the first time I needed to contact customer service for an issue. The tech support guy literally told me to just "ask your neighbor to watch your place while you are out of town" in response to a faulty sensor that wasn't functioning properly, despite being installed only a month earlier, and them not being able to fix it the day before we went on vacation. I asked him, "Isn't that what I am paying your company for?" So far no one has gotten back to me to correct the issue despite being promised a resolution to the issue over 48 hours ago. read more

They currently provide service to our HOA and our communities gates. I have had recurrent issues with the gates not responding to my clickers for the past 6 months. Despite contacting multiple people in their organization on a weekly basis, they seem incapable of resolving the problem. The last time things worked was over 6 weeks ago! Tech support is minimal at best, service is even worse. I have been on hold for over 1/2 hour before, been told they could come fix a problem in one WEEK!, said they would respond to a simple request for help in 24-48 hours. And their automated answering machine spends the first 20 seconds saying they will be recording your call for training purposes and THEN it says to push 1 if it is an emergency. Things were starting to go downhill when it was Safeguard but now that it is AAA, your security is definitely not first on their agenda. read more

We decided to stay with the AAA Smart Home security company for the latest upgrade when they took over Safe Security Co. a few months back and had an excellent transition regarding the sales department along with the technician. Ryann in the sales follow-up section was excellent as well as the technician by the name of Eric who performed the changeover from our old Concord system to the two digital system. They are a real asset to the AAA Smart team! All went very well and glad we stayed when they changed over to AAA Smart Home Security with representatives like Ryann and Eric along with the first sales representative last year by the name of Abdirizak. I was sort of disappointed they dropped the maintenance service plan which we had for years. This is the most disorganized ineffective company I have ever dealt with. I was to have had service betrween10 and 12 . No one showed up. After numerous calls between 12 and 1 I was told that the service man was sick and they were going to call me at 2 o clock about my 10-12 appointment this morning. "Duh" Finally someone came under the wire at 3:30 when I had told them I had to leave by 4!I have multiple serice calls after installation for system not woking properly with many excuses. It must be too delicate, or they don't know how to handle problems. Our alarm system monitoring was with Safeguard for many years, until they apparently sold their residential accounts to AAA. No notice, no explanation. We became aware of this change when AAA contacted us to say our account was in arrears. We had to ask , repeatedly, for an invoice, and then found they charged extra to send a paper invoice. We received no other documentation, no new window signs or yard signs, and they have created several false alarms, calling us, or our neighbor to say the alarm had gone off when it had not. We just received another invoice, for basic monitoring, and it is approximately 400% more than the stated monthly cost on the website. We are cancelling our account. this is unacceptable. read more

Run don't walk. It is nearly impossible to stop service. I was a customer for 10 years. One year after I moved I still cannot cancel service. I had to cancel a credit card to stop autopay. They put you in the "cancel queue" while billing you. They say "we tried to call you but the call must of dropped or something". The service rep was laughing. Extremely happy with the service that was provided for my parent's home security installation. Our installation tech Bobby Fernandez was wonderful and very helpful as well as punctual which is appreciated. He truly knows what he is doing and was willing to answer any questions we had. He explained everything to my Dad and made sure everything was done correctly before leaving. He also took the time to walk us through the main features of the system. We'd been customers of Safeguard Security in Phoenix for many years, before they sold to AAA Smart Home. The service has deteriorated noticeably and continually. Today I learned they want to increase their rates by 3%. The locally staffed alarm center appears appears to be gone and calls are now answered in California by someone totally unfamiliar with our home and the alarm system we are using. I am writing to let customers be aware of how difficult it is to get good customer service from aaa smart home since they acquired safeguard. I have been trying to get aaa smart home security to call me back since Saturday. It is now Tuesday. After waiting on hold over 20 minutes on Saturday a customer service rep finally answered. The second thing they said was that they were in California and could not help me in Arizona. I had dialed my Arizona number previously used for safeguard. They put me on hold to transfer and he came back and said there are only two customer service reps handling calls for Saturday and one was at lunch. I still have not received a call back. We did not have any issues with scheduling or follow up when Safeguard owned the company. All the problems I have occurred since AAA took over. read more

AAA Smart Home is terrible. Safeguard used to be excellent but as soon as they were bought by AAA Smart Home, it went downhill quickly. Their customer service is THE WORST. They keep you on hold forviever (the message ALWAYS says "wait times are currrently longer than normal", you put in your number for a call back and no one ever bothers to call you back. I finally gave up and called the sales team line and had them go get me someone in customer service. When I finally got customer service, I brought up how no one had called me back, and the lady literally said "Uh-huh". That's it. No "sorry about that" or anything. Just a basic "I don't care" response. Now I'm on the hunt for a new alarm company. BUYER BEWARE. read more

Today my home alarm went off "thank God" and AAA called me I returned the call they could not find me!!! After 10 minutes they found my account under a different address. What if this had been a medical or police emergency! Once I established who I was they said I needed to be transferred to another department. I was transferred and the department was closed. I have a Voicemail from this company saying I've commented a non-bailable offense and to connect to the concerned officer press a number. With all the current scams (fake IRS or SS) I try to mess with scammers if I have the time. I clicked over to find it is this security company. Lied to me about my existing system could no longer be monitored unless I upgraded. Charged almost $600.00, tried to gouge me for $600.00 more during installation. System hasn't worked properly since it was installed. Three repairmen have been out and they still can't get it to work right. Now I want them to reinstall my old system, give me a refund and I'll hire a different company to monitor. Their repair supervisor "Lou" won't return my calls. Look out for these guys. No ethics, lousy customer service. By the way, this "Ashley" person who answers these Yelp complaints to smooth ruffled feathers and who told me to expect a contact from her to get this problem fixed, has NEVER contacted me except here in Yelp to tell me to expect a contact. I've been very pleased with my SmartHome system! The team is lovely - both at HQ and those who are sent out for installation. The tools work very well. I haven't had an emergency yet, so I'm not sure what will happen if the alarm goes off past the time it's taken me to disarm it when I've accidentally set it off (*haha*). AAA Smart Home purchased Safeguard Security and they are going through some major transitions which are resulting in very poor customer service. The home office in Scottsdale has a group of employees they kept from Safeguard and they clearly are not happy about it. When you call them you are on hold forever. We have had to call twice last week because one of our sensors is broken and we were on hold for 42 minutes 1 time, and over an hour the second time. Once we finally got through they then transfer you and you are on hold for another long period. We told them our problem and they sold us a replacement piece. It was delivered and was the wrong piece. We called again and they were so rude when we told them they sent us the wrong piece. We needed an exchange and told us that now one of the techs could bring it out to us and install for $99.00 plus the replacement piece. You just have to stick it on the window. The tech that came out was very nice-that is the only reason they received 2 stars. read more

if we could rate as zero stars, we would. the customer service process is broken. when a sensor goes offline, be prepared for countless calls from an automated system, which truly serve no purpose. we are in the process of trying to get a technician out for said sensor, and they have cancelled twice (actually, no show/no call). it's been three weeks, which means three weeks of automated, pointless calls literally 12 times a day. we found another company and are switching ASAP. stay away from this circus of a company if at all possible. read more

When I call them about this they told me I still owed them even though I did sign up with them because they were monitoring my system for a month. When I told them I would not pay for the month they threatened me that I would be charged over a thousand dollars instead. AC and Blong came over to our house to install the security system and did extraordinary on it. Both followed the safety guidelines by wearing masks and gloves. Where do I start... I've been a member since 2018 with "safe/Brinks/aaa smarthome" and since June 2020 something happened in the process of this company being bought out by a3 smarthome. I as many other I'm sure continued to make on time payments via bill pay and to my knowledge I assumed my invoices were being paid.. Negative!! I received an invoice in the mail saying I missed 2 monthly payments. Being that the payments are 44.99 a month I doubled up on payments as I hate being late or behind on payments. Fast forward to Sept where I received another invoice saying I'm now 3 months behind when again I made on time payments the same way I've been making them since 2018. I've spoken to over 4 agents in the last 5 months with no resolution to my problem. I have sent confirmation checks from bank of america to show proof, check numbers and the front of the check via my bank statements. Still nothing has been processed to my account with a3 smarthome. If you're still reading this and wondering why didnt this guy speak or request a manager.. WELL GOOD LUCK!! Managers in this company seems to be non existent quite frankly! There was a SN agent who was very pleasant but the only thing I was told which has been the exact same as other agents "I'll send this information to my accounting department. Had a new upgrade added to my existing alarm on the 13th of July. Gentry, was the tech who came to do the install. All I can say is that I wish all companies were as professional as he was. Great install, very neat, very clean and could not ask for a better install. Also, by the way Gentry was very anal about how things look reminded me of me. Best install, and great company. We've been with this company since before they were bought and I must say, they've really gone down hill since they were acquired by AAA. The equipment is temperamental and we've had to call for service multiple times. We've had false alarms. Their customer service is not good, requiring several calls to get to the right department. In a world where you can decide where to spend your money, I'd use a different company. We have also used ADT and they are far superior on every level. read more

I had a service from them for 3 years undercontract they, couldn't keep the system operational 50% of the time ( that's being optimistic) then when the contact expired I told them I would not renew and for them to remove the equipment. They charged me for another 3 month service, after they removed the equipment. I disputed it with the credit card company and a3 told them they were still providing the service. My advice is never do business with these crooks. I guess I am going to have to get a lawyer to get my money back. read more

I was originally a customer of Safeguard Security, but am now with AAA. The transition to AAA has been horrible. I just started a remodel of my home and needed them to disengage our security system as we are replacing everything in the house. I am still constantly getting robo-calls from the company saying the system is not responding to their system (NO KIDDING!!!). Despite calling three times and having to wait on hold to try to rectify it, no one can seem to solve the issue. The last person I spoke with said they were taking care of it and transferred me to sales so that I can buy a new system from them. I was originally intending to do that, but I hung up after 10 minutes waiting on hold to talk to sales...which is weird right?!?! I would think sales would want to talk to me...but I guess not. I am fairly certain that I will not be replacing my security system with AAA. I am currently on hold with customer service to again try to stop them from monitoring the system while it is under construction and am and 11th in the queue. I started at 14th in the queue and it has been 10 minutes. This is insane. I also forgot to mention that on Monday, they sent the fire department to my house as their system though the house was on fire. This was after multiple calls that the house is under construction and to please stop monitoring while under construction. The fire dispatcher was not pleased when I talked with her. Update: Still on hold. It has been 51 minutes on hold. This is awesome...NOT Update: Still on hold. It has been 66 minutes on hold. Update: after 68 minutes on hold, I talked to a person (yeah). They saw that my system was in test mode, and agreed I should not be receiving robo calls any more. The individual placed me on hold and he tried to called technical support to stop the robo calls (who was I talking to?). He came back after a few minutes saying that no one was answering in that department (the story of my life). I decided to cancel my service. Unfortunately, I have to wait for another department to call me back in 24-48 hours to do that. OMG you have to be kidding me. Well, we will see if anyone calls. I will update again once (if?) I receive a call...ugh! So cancelling is out. There seems to be a lovely contract in place. It may actually be worth paying the monthly fee with no service to get to a better company. Jessica - I asked the cancellation lady to have someone from the correct department call me out turning off the long term service instead of the only one week service holds.
