When my wife and I bought our new home we had a baby girl on the way, so great security, monitoring…read moreand cost was a huge priority. After doing our research and through recommendations we went through Jon Knox, owner of Knox Security Services Inc. We didn't want to go through ADT, their monitoring was too high and we had them in a prior house. ADT outsources their service reps and the quality of work was sub par. Our house almost caught fire because of an incorrect mini transformer installed by a former rep. When the out sourced rep came out he tried to sell us over priced window sensors under the table. When Jon came to see our home he installed everything quickly and was easy to get in touch with when we had some questions. The quality of work, installation and equipment blew ADT out of the water. After getting to know him I could tell he does some very impressive work for very large homes and businesses. Even though I was a smaller job, he made me feel important and like I was his top priority. Not bad to get that sort of treatment from the owner of a company! Ever since we have had the alarm installed we haven't had a single issue and feel comfortable that our home and new family member are safe. I highly recommend Knox Security Services Inc. for anyone considering a home security system and didn't want to go through ADT like my wife and I.

KNOX HOME SECURITY - An Extremely Welcome Wake-up Call…read more For more than twenty years, we faithfully paid our monthly fees to "Brand X" security. I won't mention the name, but I believe it is the largest in the nation. Service levels steadily declined, but they made up for it by steadily increasing their prices. After reaching the breaking point, I looked for alternatives. I found Knox Security headquartered in Scottsdale, but with nationwide connections. Here's what I learned. The hardware is better by far than that of "Brand X". The service is vastly superior to that of "Brand X". I actually dealt with human beings who were responsive, professional, and friendly. Best of all, I now pay less than half per month as I did with "Brand X". Had I made the move two years earlier, I'd have an additional thousand dollars in my pocket. I should have made "Brand X" into "Brand Ex" long ago. I've now had Knox on board for a month. It works great. It's easy to use. It looks great. And my monthly cost is less than half what it was.

This is a much better choice for home security.

Given the decision again, I would definitely choose Neighborhood Watch Security, and will refer all of my friends and relatives to them as well.

DO NOT USE ADT!!!!…read more Service is garbage. They tell you 59.00 to come out too fix doorbell camera. I asked the ADT rep over the phone multiple times that $59.00 is the only charge. He said yes. I agreed too have tech come out. He comes out and before doing anything, tells me its going too be $230.00. I said no, thats not what the adt phone rep told me. He implies that he gets this issue alot. I call in too cancel, and speak with an Account "manager" named Mia. She promises me the world, 5 yrs locked in price of 45.00 (lowered from $65.00/month), cover camera fees, cover tech fees, discount on new cameras, no payments for 2 months, extra 10% off. I said no. Do yourself a favor and call your local alarm companies. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!! Just know that they can lower the price if they really wanted too but wont until you call in and speak your mind.

I had a very disappointing experience with Oculus and would not recommend their installation…read moreservices. The installer made numerous holes in my walls throughout my house, promising that the connections would be fully concealed and barely visible. Instead, he attempted to install everything using large 1-inch gray conduit running along the face of my drywall, all the way down my hallway. These conduits didn't sit flush against the wall and were clearly visible in every area of my home--exactly what I said I did not want. When I expressed how unacceptable this looked, he decided to remove everything but left all the damage behind--holes in the walls, exposed areas, and a mess throughout the house. To make matters worse, there was a week-long delay between when he first made all the holes and when he came back to finish the job, only to leave it unfinished. I was very clear from the beginning that I didn't want anything that looked tacky and would rather not install it at all if it couldn't be properly concealed. Unfortunately, that's exactly what I ended up with--unfinished work, damage to my home, and a lot of frustration.

I know this first hand because I have a basis of comparison with trying to get a "Proper" system in my home in Colorado. Lucas is so knowledgeable that he had to school my security person in Colorado because my colorado guy connected my cameras to an indoor light switch. As soon as I switched off the lights inside, the cameras didn't function. Things like this can happen if you hire someone who really is not an expert. The fact that Lucas did this even after I moved and disconnected Scottsdale tells you everything you need to know about this guy. Not only is he very much an expert, he is also kind and generous. If you don't hire Lucas for your security needs, what are you even doing?

When I called to cancel they noted the owner Lucas had to send over the form himself. I called today and spoke to Sara to get a timeline on the form and share their network is still trying to connect and sending us notifications. She seemed to get upset and note it was just her and Lucas running the company and there is nothing she could do it. I told her I understand but she started to blame the new company we went with and said they needed to take care of it. She seemed very confused and ended up hanging up on me because I asked her not to call me sweetheart. After hanging up she called back 10 min later and gave me a new name of Brandy and when I questioned if she was Sarah or brandy she said she had two names. Never acknowledged that she hung up and just noted she sent a note to IT and kept calling me honey and sweetheart. Just really bizarre behavior. The cameras - At first they were great, but then started to lag greatly. (We did upgrade the WiFi and all that) the doorbell was hit or miss sometimes it would record and other times it wouldn't and then eventually stoped working. When we would call to have someone come out they said someone would get back to us but they never would. The monthly price is low at 29.99 which is a big sell but you get what you pay for. We have our security system with Vivant and decided to switch our cameras with them and it ended up being the same monthly price but a company that has great customer service and responsive.

Twice in the past 6 months, I've had a very minor issue (couldn't connect camera to new wifi + one window sensor not working), and both times I had to call AAA, which takes 30-40 minutes between waiting, explaining, waiting some more, etc. Then they say they can't solve my issue over the phone, so tech needs to come out, and they don't have a tech available to stop by and perform a 5-10 minute fix for over 2 weeks. The wait times (phone and tech visit) are too long, and they need to be able to fix/address some issues remotely. I just paid almost $800 for some new equipment, and the 2 of the sensors the tech installed did not work after the tech left. So now they have to come back, again.
