Aug 2026 update: Don't recommend. AAA Smarthome Security can do almost nothing remotely, so you have to have a tech come out to your house. Twice in the past 6 months, I've had a very minor issue (couldn't connect camera to new wifi + one window sensor not working), and both times I had to call AAA, which takes 30-40 minutes between waiting, explaining, waiting some more, etc. Then they say they can't solve my issue over the phone, so tech needs to come out, and they don't have a tech available to stop by and perform a 5-10 minute fix for over 2 weeks. The wait times (phone and tech visit) are too long, and they need to be able to fix/address some issues remotely. I just paid almost $800 for some new equipment, and the 2 of the sensors the tech installed did not work after the tech left. So now they have to come back, again. read more

cameras equipment are behind in technology, oftentimes camera and panels often need to restarted in order to work. Service installations person not as skilled or professional as they promised. Value for money better off buying from Amazon for a lot less price and better quality home security. Buyer needs to do their homework, don't make a mistake as I did. Stuck with AAA lemon equipments. read more

Very disappointed with them. As I am a triple A member as well, I have had no problems with their auto side of things. This smart home security is terrible. They can't fix anything over the phone - you have to call a technician every time the panel breaks down on you. After getting the system, I had to call them one year in and have it replaced which they had to come out which costs $100+ and then also get a new panel which was more money so now we are looking at $200+ Now, another year later, it's not working again!! The lady I talked to was very nice but not helpful at all and it's frustrating that I am having to spend so much money for a system - if I knew this was going to be the investment, I would have never gotten it in the first place. It's only suppose to cost me $30 a month. It's just turning into frustration and unplanned finances. read more

Their maintenance program is the worst there is. I am paying a monthly fee to have full battery replacement and maintenance of the system and just had a battery go dead in the garage. I called them and they can't get out for a month to replace one battery. The weak battery, is tripping the system with burglar alarms and they 're dispatching the police. This is what happens when a company takes over another security company and makes the service worse. Not recommended! read more

Super outstanding, the best, professional, easy going, helpful, knowledgeable, and etc!! Keep up the good work

This doorbell sucks so many issues and it's only been installed less than 2 years 23 months and I've been calling 8 months insane and to be charged for a tech is stupid on their own doorbell not recording video haven't had any activity video footage captured good until warranty is up I guess read more

yrs of problems. mostly in the connections of their signal. have gone through three of their boxes and am know on the 4th one and they want $350 for the tech to fix the same signal box where before they comped it. their box. am looking for new service. second i had aprox. 5 outdoor cakeras put in from them. they all turned pink, service came out hit them with tool they came back to normal, now they are pink again and the dvr went out. the tech told there office that they need to be replaced. they after months of asking are sending a tech, not to replace them but look at fixing them again. bbbbbbbad company they should stick to towing cars. read more

Antonio was fantastic! Super helpful, very friendly and left me feeling confident in our purchase.

From day one this company has been an issue. We bought a home with their system already installed so we were stuck with them. We needed additional coverage and some specialized equipment and were assured they could handle our requests. The salesperson completely mislead us on what they could and could not do and our first tech 100% didn't set up our system correctly. Subsequent visits have been equally disappointing with exception of one tech that seemed to care about his work product. I am constantly getting sent docusign contracts that are expired and that don't relate to my account. Our current representative refused to provide his supervisor information so I am relegated to writing this review. There are several other alarm companies in AZ....I suggest you pass on AAA.....they care nothing about a customer experience. *******I was promised a call from my rep's supervisor. I've heard absolutely nothing. These folks care nothing about their customers yet they expect us to trust our safety with their products. read more

I purchased the home security w/ outside camera and sensor lights. the installer misplaced the camera and the lighting was extremely low. two days later my license plates were stolen. a few months after that my indoor camera was cut while I was burglarized. Ithe door lock combo was broken, a helpful tech came out. I'm under warranty but my front camera ( burglarized) isn't covered. as a premium customer I thought the warranty would cover the tech visit, and outside camera/ sensor lights. otherwise why bother?! the point is to prevent burglars not encore them. i will cancel asap, was told i " purchased the equipment "- yet i can't return it? avoid AAA! read more

From start to finish, this was an amazingly positive experience. My initial contact with Heidi could not have been better. She worked with me closely to get my internet up/down mbs to what the system needed. She explained everything throughly and clearly, and with patience. Scheduling was impeccable. I was called twice: once to confirm the set up day, and again when the Tech was on his way. Chang, the Tech, was phenomenal. He provided some of the best customer service I have ever experienced. He explained everything clearly every step of the way. He was exceedingly polite, considerate, and answered all my questions with patience. After the system was installed, his "walk through" was thorough and complete. I am very very happy with this entire experience, and cannot recommend AAAhighly enough. You will not be disappointed. read more

First time homeowner realizing after 3 years of my AAA smart home security systm and despite the technician being super nice that the main driveway camera never captured any sidewalk traffic! Always wondered why the camera never picked up the mail delivery to a mailbox which is in straight shot of the driveway camera. 3k worth of equipment and 80 bucks a month basically down the drain if you ask me... read more

Purchased new home in Scottsdale and shopped around for home security system providers. Ended up going with AAA Smart Home Security based on there technology, modern equipment and their familiarity with our neighborhood and needs. Sales team was great to work with and provided a complete competitively priced system. Travis, there installer, was very professional and knowledgable installing equipment. He did a FANTASTIC job and took extra care to locate devices in correct positions without damaging any surfaces in our home. I highly recommend AAA Smart Home Security. read more

Mr. Chang was the best! He was professional, kind and very thorough. He installed everything carefully and went over everything. GARBAGE!!!!! DONT DO IT! I love AAA, but their home security system is a useless scam. I bought the system primarily to secure 2 doors. Unfortunately, those 2 doors trip the alarm every time the wind blows, so I have to bypass them. I wasn't informed that the City I live in requires me to register a home alarm system, so I am required to pay the City in addition to the monthly monitoring. I will be held financially responsible for any false alarms. Having the system causes additional stress instead of relieving anxiety. I tried to cancel but was told I have a three year contract. At the time of purchase, I was told I have no contract. I asked repeatedly. I'm stuck paying another $600 for crap sensors and service so unreliable that it is worse than worthless. AAA is milking me for cash I need to provide for my family. DON'T DO IT! read more

I wish to commend Bree H. for representing me with an account issue. Bree went the extra mile to ensure my concerns were addressed better than I could have hoped for. I have been a member of AAA for over 40 years having used many of their products from roadside service to travel to insurance and now home security. Bree is an outstanding representation of AAA's services, hence the reason I've been with them for so long. As for A3 home security, I've been extremely pleased with their rapid response to a couple of alarms I've experienced since switching from a national competitor to A3 Smart Home in 2022. read more

I've been with them since 2007 and am moving to a rental house without a security system. I went online to cancel the service and the system said that someone would have to call me back in order to cancel the service. I received a call back the next day and, because I gave only 8 days notice to cancel, was told that I had to pay for an extra month (they require 10 days notice and won't pro-rate). This is a ridiculously bad policy but it gets even worse. I've been on auto-pay for as long as I can remember but was told that I had to provide a payment method for the last month's payment. I was driving and told them I couldn't get that info but reminded them that they had my auto-pay info and they should just charge it. Nope, they can't use the auto-pay for the final payment. I was quite angry and frustrated and told them that's their problem. Their answer, "We're going to send it to collections." Been a loyal customer for 17 years. They have the info to collect the final payment. They won't use it. They're going to send me to collections for $20. They're out of their minds and have zero concept of customer service. This will get paid from the refund for cancelling other services associated with the AAA brand. AAA security did reach out to me and resolved the issue to my satisfaction. read more

They make it impossible for you to get out of contract. I had service for 9 days. I made several phone calls trying to figure out the system (thinking it was user error). Apparently there is a 5 day cancellation timeframe that nobody told me about. I could cancel but I was still going to be responsible for the equipment that was wired into my home. The system does not work for me and my expectations. I definitely recommend staying with RING cameras. I was under the impression that I was getting an upgraded version of RING. I was mistaken. The lag time and the notifications DO NOT come close to RING technology. A3 was a complete waste of money. They trap you into keeping their system even when you decide 9 DAYS later that it doesn't work for you. They're suppose to troubleshoot the lag time since I'm being forced to reinstate. I now know that the notifications do not come thru like RING if you have an iPhone. I will update if any changes but at this time I am not hopeful just truly disappointed. I do not recommend its not cheap and not worth your money read more

Last couple of months have been reviewing cameras for home security & liked what AAA has to offer. Price was reasonable, installation went smoothly, techs were knowledgeable & kept me apprised as to what was being done--very professional. read more

I am very disappointed with a AAA security system. The quote they gave me was not accurate. The equipment installation is not what the sales person told me it would be, it took three visits from their technician to get me installed and I'm still not happy with it. If there was any way for me to exchange this system and not cost me a fortune I would do it in a New York minute this was one of the worst decisions I made. read more

This is a pure scam company. My alarm was triggered. I was out side of my house for a long time. I got no call from them. One time, I disconnected the battery for a few hours, I got no calls either. They only collected your payment but don't do the monitoring! read more

Had their service since 2020. Twice we have a robery and a theft in our drive, the drive way camera only captures cats and my neighbor going for a walk while Theives and robbers get away. when i contacted the customer service, i was preached on the rules of the camera. Yesterday night by mistake, left my car unlocked, around 2 am (saw the video from my neighbors camera) some one stole 95$ rayban sunglasses and a botle of perfume. i contacted the customer service, instead of being sympathetic, one person told me, you can cancel the service and all your equiment (paid over 1400$) will be use less as i can only use them with the 31 $/ mo service, including my AC thermostat. I have to get an electrician to re wire the thermostat. called back again later the customer service rep wanted to to upsell me expensive cameras again. He told if i cancelled the service, i will have to go thru alarm.com to manage remotely and this is their system. So i just pay this company just to use the app. Don't waste money, better go for Blink or ring or some other camera systems at costco or best buy or amazon, these cost way less and gets better result. if you are considering this service be mindful that you won't be able o use the equipment if you cancel the service. Since the service rep told me to talk to alarm.com, so betetr go with them. working on an alternate system then cancelling it. read more

Still dealing with problems with this maddening system. One camera never records anything. I've had people come in to steal packages, animals digging my plants and the camera sees nothing! They sent technicians out once who only told me my signal was strong. Right now the camera shows that it's off-line. Piece of junk isn't even working. Total waste of money. So regret getting the system as it was a total waste of money. There are so many better systems out there. Do a little research and above all stay away from this piece of junk read more
