He followed Covid guidelines and was very helpful in explaining how everything works and working with us for proper placement of things. Horrible customer service, problems with billing still six months after installation, and customer service can't answer the most rudimentary question. They billed me more than my contract for the equipment. There's been one problem after another since installation in March. Run, don't walk, away from this company unless you have lots of time on your hands to deal with "problem of the month." This is the worst customer support I've ever had. I'm unable to arm my alarm because a contact is bad, and they supposedly mailed it 9/17/2020, but it's still not here and they won't even give up the supposed tracking number. Yes, I'm aware that I could bypass the zone, but it's a huge zone in my home and to bypass would leave my hone very compromised, defeating the purpose. I can't wait until this contract is over so I can cancel their service and switch to another provider. As many there have said, run, don't walk, from this company. Next to ANY TV cable service there is AAA Smart home !! Everything is OK while selling the system, a 5 minutes job then: -Batteries in the "brain" are already dead on arrival (system does not arm or disarm on command), have to have another appointment to get them changed -"Forgot" to tell you or provide the police form to register the system -Around one hour on the phone to cancel the contract with nasty and nastier employee... and not even sure what to do with the system...put it in the street??? read more

There are better options for your home security needs than this organization. Below is a recent experience as a 5+year customer. There is more than this...but there is limit on characters so I shortened it 1. In January of 2020, All 4 of the cameras purchased started to loose IR capability making them not functional during nighttime. Remote viewing of the camera system was not working. One of the Garage doors remote functions was not working. I called the service department, was transferred to a support person, left a message and Andrew called back and left me a message to call him back. What? Shouldn't he try again? I called again and left another message.. I never received a return call. 2. On May 5. I called again as the issue with my system remain. I spoke to Oscar and he told me the "scheduling department" will call me to have a technician come out. 3. On May 6. Daniel left a message at 9:30am for me to call him back. I called back and spoke to Oscar again. Apparently I could not call back Daniel directly..... Oscar told me someone would call me back within the hour from the scheduling department. No One called back that day 4. On May 7. I called back again! I spoke with Brett and explained the situation again and my disappointment and frustration. Finally Daniel called me back with an appointment for 8 days later. 5. On May 15. Two technicians arrived at my home. a. The garage door issue was corrected with 30 mins. b. An inspection of the cameras confirmed my diagnosis the IR LEDs were no longer working. Several phone calls by the technicians to (Clinton Electronics I assume) indicated the IR panels in the cameras are burned out. c. It took them 45 mins to find the power source for the camera system in my attic and confirm it was working properly. I the powerbox is located 15 feet away from the attic entrance d. Multiple attempts to reconnect the DVR to the server for the remote viewing function failed. After 90 mins of effort. I did a quick search on the internet and found out the dyndns.com free system used by the Clinton Electronics Shadow DVR (and others) was purchased a couple of years ago and now required a subscription. Why in the world would Safeguard (now AAA Smarthome) communicate with their customers who purchased equipment from them that the equipment will become obsolete because the manufacturer or them will not pay the subscription fees? 6. On May 1. The monthly monitoring fee increased again without prior notice. The total monitoring fee is now $100.00 per month 10. I had to replace my DVR and cameras. I have a coax system. I asked AAA Smarthome (Safeguard) for an estimate to replace ALL cameras to HD over coax and a new DVR. I also asked ADT and JPG Consulting. a. Smart Home AAA estimate was more than $3500 with no quote on monthly monitoring b. ADT estimate was over $4000 for cameras and over $1300 for alarm switch. $59 month monitoring. c. JPG estimate was $450 for alarm system change( 2 panels, 3 Thermostats) and set up. $39 month monitoring they don't install cameras. d. CCTV online. I purchased a 4TB DVR. 8 Cameras, Power supply, various cords and installed them myself for $1700 JPG (AZAlarm) was selected with Brinks doing the monitoring. AZAlarm asked I call them for any service or support issues so they can assure the best service. The mobile interface is Alarm.com. (I was already using with Safeguard) read more

Update to this review as of September 13th. AAA customer service helped me out right away to resolve this issue. I now have a check in hand. Thank you for your help in this matter. I used AAA Smart home while I had a vacant home on the market. The gentleman who set up the alarm in the home was very prompt and helpful. It's the billing department that has been a nightmare. I canceled the service in April and my account was automatically debited in May for $70. I have repeatedly called to get my money back and have gotten nothing but the run around from this company. Here I am at the beginning of Sept and now they are telling me it is because of Covid I have not received my check. I know if I owed this company money I would have 30 days to remit payment or else my service would be canceled at the very least and then sent to collections. I only write this out of sheer frustration that I've spent so much of my time to clear this matter up and I still as of today September 3rd still don't have my refund. read more

The latest problems with AAA Smart Home started in the beginning of February 2023. The main panel in the master bedroom is fine. The panel by the front door kept saying: panel response not received when I pressed the keys. Then the keypad by the garage had delayed messages so that I couldn't leave the house. The keypad didn't respond to my pressing the buttons. This happened off and on and I had techs at my house on 2/3/23, 2/20/23, 3/10/23 and 3/25/23. The techs were very nice and tried to help but the whole system is not functioning. They should have replaced the units. And to add to my distress, they double billed me for the first tech's visit. Our alarm system was installed last week and we are most pleased! The system is very user friendly and has the best access! Tarek was our installer and I don't think I can say enough about him! Tarek called to let us know when he would be arriving and he was on time! Having previous installations for alarm systems, cable, internet etc, I can definitely confirm he is the best installer we have ever had! I think other companies could learn a few things from Tarek and his skills! His knowlede of the sytem, patience explaining the new system, answering our questions and he did not rush us thru the set up as has happened before with prev installers! I am a employee of AAA and I signed up for Smart Home. Not knowing what to expect. I know a lot about all the new tech that is out there. I was surprised that Smart Home has it all. Not only that but the employees that came out to install all the items were knowledgeable and respectful of my home. Gentry and Sam work quickly and efficiently. The were super nice to my kittens and followed covid rules. At the end Gentry patiently walked my wife and I thru how everything worked and how to use the website and Iphone app. I love the way everything works together, the pricing is amazing and being able to set up profiles saves me a ton of time. As a small business owner myself, I really hate leaving negative reviews; however such is really appropriate in this case. I use A3 Smart Home as the alarm system for my small business. Over the last 6 months I've been experiencing lots of problems with my alarm system. Example... the display panel will lose power or connection with the internet, sensors are not communicating with the display panel which makes it impossible to set the alarm, the alarm goes off at random while people are working in the building, the app doesn't connect to the panel. To make matters worse, when these problems occur, I have to physically go to the building in the middle of the night, which is a safety concern in of itself. If you try to contact A3 after regular business hours, like in an emergency, good luck getting in touch with someone. When you contact A3 during regular business hours, they rarely acknowledge it's their fault, and won't help much if I can't immediately replicate the problem. My conversations with A3 sound more like a lecture in electrical engineering than a responive help center for lay people. I would not recommend their products or services. read more

They both were extremely knowledgeable, efficient, kind and very thorough on explaining how the system works. You can tell that Ezra and Raj wanted to be sure that my husband and I were happy with their work and that we were left with proper instructions. All the questions we had, they were patient with us and we appreciate the time they committed to ensure we understood how the entire system works. I recently upgraded my home security system to include outdoor cameras. The installation team was incredibly thorough, knowledgeable, and polite. They worked for hours without even breaking for lunch and then provided training for me on the system. It was such a pleasant experience. And, thus far, I am so pleased with my system. The new panels have a sleek design and are simple to use. The phone app makes it simple to check the areas covered by the cameras and to manage your system remotely. First I would like to say I have used Safegard security for 18 years. Somewhere along the way A3 bought them out. And this is where the story begins. Safe guard was awesome responsive and amazing. A3 is horrible. If you want to stay on hold never get a call back and be looped on there answering machine. I suggest this is the right place. My alarm started ringing yesterday and I waited on hold until I got a message to go on line and follow the instructions since they are closed until tomorrow morning. to solve my problem which it didn't solve. I had to unplug the complete system which if they were a legitimate company the person monitoring the system would have called immediately to see what the problem was. Instead I got a call today by a robot to tell me there is a problem with there connections. Are you kidding me, if I was out of town I would not have an alarm service or a company to even alert me of this. Called today stayed on hold again for someone to tell me the same thing. They were not able to connect me to a supervisor or tell me when service I am paying for ,will be repaired. Then they had the nerve to send an email that stated they couldn't get in touch with me. Since I haven't changed my telephone for 15 years another lie. Avoid this company at all costs. I'm am canceling after all the years. Shame on you. I have been a Safeguard Security customer since around 2006. It was a great locally owned company company with outstanding customer service. Since Safeguard was acquired by AAA customer service has gone downhill. Phone wait times are longer and the representative you talk to is not even located in AZ (I asked and the man I spoke with and he told me he was in CA). I was calling to schedule a service call and was told that someone would contact me within 24 hours to do so. In the past, I had always been to schedule and confirm appointments right away. The service representative who came to my home was pleasant, helpful and able to resolve my issue (he was an old Safeguard employee) Today, despite having a service contract I received a $75 bill for my service. This probably means another long phone call and dealing with the new AAA bureaucracy to get it resolved. I would give this company 1 star if not for the good experience I had with their serviceman. I'm not sure how this company will be able to retain good former Safeguard employees if their current trajectory continues. Update: I have been trying to reach a customer service representative. The first individual I spoke with told me I need to speak to someone else to resolve my issue. She put me back on hold. For the next 25 minutes the automated system told me I was "2nd in line". Finally I entered my phone number to receive a call back. This did not happen. So I called back again to be told by the computer system that I was now 8th in line. This is NOT the kind of customer service that Safeguard Security had. I would NEVER use this company if I was a new customer looking for a new security system although I'm sure they probably answer calls for new customers quickly. read more

I wish I could give no stars. AAA Smart-home acquired/purchased Guardian Protection Services and it has been a complete headache from day one. First the only reason I knew the change was occurring is because I received an error message on my keypad and when I called Guardian they said AAA was moving services. I received a very brief letter from AAA weeks after the transfer letting me know it was occurring. The letter also stated that if I was setup on autopay I didn't need to do anything. I kept receiving statements every week letting me know my balance but no due date or draft date listed. I called spoke with a nice gentleman and he supposedly got everything squared away. I received another statement showing my current charges but no due date or draft date. I called and spoke with a lady who sounded totally clueless and like it was her first day answering a phone. I had to repeat everything multiple times and I was left with the impression she had two different accounts open at the same time. I received my next statement and it finally said the payment would be electronically drafted (finally), but I really didn't have a clear understanding of when. Then one day I check my bank account and they drafted my payment plus an additional payment that was higher. I called AAA and I spoke with a lady that basically said she had no clue why there was two drafts, because she didn't see anything on my account that reflected what I was was telling her. I then stated I would file a dispute with my bank and she basically stated that was my best option (wow that's some real helpful customer service). I then decided I was fed up with 3 months of crappy service and nothing but issues and I was going to cancel my service. When I called I was informed I would have to pay just shy of $900 in order to cancel. I was informed it is the remaining balance of my contract. I then stated I didn't sign a contract with AAA so I asked what contract she was talking about and she told me it was the Guardian contract. It's interesting that they don't have to give me any kind of notification that they are taking over my service or contract but yet can enforce a contract I signed with someone else, and on top of that they give you crappy customer service. I hope they turn things around because based on what they told me, I'm stuck with crappy service, that I don't want for 2 more years. Word of caution if you don't want to be stuck in a long term contract with crappy service, then explore other options. Received a call from "Kim", have not had a chance to call back so issue still isn't resolved but that's because I haven't called back. On the other hand per my "Guardian Contract" that I'm being held to, I am being overcharged. read more

We upgraded the system today and we started having problems immediately. False alarms, no emergency signal and no service was offered as everyone had gone home and no one can do anything. I was a customer going on thirteen years. Owners have changed a couple times. Recent ownership contacted me about upgrading my system. I initially declined stating I planned on canceling monitoring and installing a self-monitoring system. I was told they could install equipment that I could later self-monitor after paying off equipment in full. After installment of equipment, I called to pay off equipment and cancel monitoring and was told I would not be able to self-monitor using their equipment. I found their selling strategy to be very deceptive. The equipment was removed and they reimbursed what I paid for equipment; however they refused to replace my keypad and repair the damage they caused to my home. I recommend you try a local and more honest monitoring company. read more

I called to speak to sales on Saturday regarding a estimate for security system on my residential home. I need to see what the price would be if I made some changes to a estimate we discussed 24 hours ago. The representative on Saturday said I had to call back and speak to the original sales rep because the sales commission is hers. What????? I respect that the sales rep should get compensated but I should not wait for the original sales rep to be provided service. In today's technology that technical process should be managed on companies end. What happens when someone breaks into my home and my sales rep is on vacation or at lunch? AAA Smart Home Alarm system powered by alarm.com. All equipment you have to pay for outright. It is very cheap quality worthless stuff and malfunctions even before it is completely paid off. The technicians and customer service representatives are extremely rude and condescending, so don't expect any help with your system when it fails. Don't buy, it will be a poor decision. Also, the rate for service went up 25% before the year was up. So, don't believe the rate on your contract! read more
