We recently had Aaa Smart home security installed at our home in Alamo. Doug Khalil was our technician and boy were we glad. He was very experienced and professional. Without him we would not have had our security system installed in one day. It was pouring rain and Doug got all our outdoor cameras installed along with the smart door locks, thermostat, smart doorbell camera and many extras. My install tech showed up without the three cameras for my installation and had to leave to get them. He had no idea we were to have a water detecter installed. He was only scheduled for an install window of 8-230 even though the scheduling girl I talked to said it was a large install and would take a whole day. The tech kept telling my wife he needed to hurry because he had to leave by 230. It's obvious to see where he started rushing for time. Two of my cameras were installed correctly, hiding the power wires, but the third he just drilled thru my bedroom wall to run a external wire to a plug, its a total eye sore seen as soon as you enter my master bedroonm. . This was left unfinished at that. My CO2 monitors were both put in locations that they can easily be knocked off the wall as they are at knee height in bad locations. The water detecter he didn't know about was put behind a door and the wire just left dangling to the floor, no staples or anchors to hold the wire as should be. I contacted AAA regarding this the second day after the install. I was told they would reach out to the local leads whom would contact me. Two days later nothing. I called again and was apologized to and told they would reach out again. Three days later again now no response. I have been in touch with my l Iocal agent looking for assistance. AAA roadside and insurance have never failed me but the home security section needs to take some serious pointers. I'm at the point to tell them to take their hardware and shove it. Oh yeah I have already received a bill even though they haven't even returned a call to me to make things right. read more

My daughter's car was stolen from in front of our house. It is happening all over our neighborhood. I noticed the smart home set up inside of our local AAA office. I inquired about and decided to purchase right on the spot. I had researched other companies but made the spontaneous move. Ezra come came out the following Monday. He called a hour before his scheduled time and was on time as promised. He explained everything he was doing and made suggestions that would help protect our home and property such as moving my daughter's car to the driveway where the camera can see it. It took four people coming out, but our system is finally up and running. No one found the issue until Tarek. He was absolutely amazing. I must say that the people who installed the system were completely ill equipped to do so. Ying and the two people who accompanied him were not able to do the basic requirements (i.e., connect everything afterwards) or even ensure that they installed everything correctly (i.e., when they installed the panel, a wire came loose and there was no checking). It is my sincere hope that this company provides the training to this person and his trainees so that others won't experience this frustration. Additionally, when doing the paperwork, there was also a bait-and-switch by Ying in regards to not providing a garage tilt sensor that was a free promo (they weren't available) and instead charging us for a different sensor that does less without informing us of either situation. I feel that it was entirely inappropriate to send someone with two trainees and expect them to do the job of someone not in training (i.e., not under the supervision of the trainer they are there with) as was the case with both trainees who were at our house. Now that our system is working the way it is, we are thrilled! It is a great system, and we are happy to have it! It's quite the upgrade from the one we had. The reason I gave a 4 star rating instead of 5 of because of the headaches that we had to go through and the incompetence of the initial team that was sent out. read more

I called AAA Home Security and complained about receiving a 25% increase in our monthly rate the person on call told me that I was notified by mail a month ago that the increase would occur I do not remember receiving any notification what so ever I now worry about the timing of the next exorbitant rate increase I strongly suggest you do not retain AAA Home Security because of mailing and pricing problems read more

Following a AAA Alarm radio upgrade they can't figure out how to get their systems to work. They want to charge for service visits when their techs can't get it working. If you want old school with poor or no reliable app to monitor and remote arm/disarm this company is for you. DO NOT RECOMMEND! I would not recommend this security system at all. There is a permanent delay in the system. It will notify me there is a person at the door but will not load the doorbell camera until the person is gone. We have upgraded our Wi-Fi but it was not the issue it's just the security system. read more

They are only good for insurance, once the system reaches its data camera stops recording. Then you have to pay for extra data. I took off the AAA doorbell and replaced it with the ring doorbell. Don't waste your money buy the ring and go with another security company. read more

Barry Adams was extremely friendly, attentive, and understanding answering our several questions over phone and email as we were selecting from an array of products. He listened to our needs and made appropriate suggestions. During our research phase, we contacted the industry leaders and none exemplified customer service like Barry did, which was another huge determinant in our going with AAA. Blong, Brandon, Ying were sent out to do our installation. Not only did they call us when they were 20 mins away from the house, but they arrived within the first 5 mins of a 2 hr arrival window! All three were COVID conscious, wearing masks and gloves. Further, shoe covers were worn upon entry into our house without our having to ask! Blong, Brandon, and Ying were friendly, courteous, and professional throughout the 5.5 hr install, which included external and internal components. During system setup and platform orientation, Blong and Brandon were extremely patient and ensured we had no lingering questions or concerns. The set up process was relatively easy, the installation took quite some time but we figured it out. I have had this home security for 4 months and have had numerous issues with their devices and system. 1. Within 2 months, one of the glass breaking sensors was not connecting to the panel and had to be replaced 2. Wireless panel that is 20 feet from the modem is constantly disconnected and needs to be reseted 3. Above said panel is now at "low battery" despite it being plugged in all the time - will need to be serviced. 4. I have 2 outdoor cameras that is suppose to record clips for all triggers - have not had a single video clip recorded in almost 2 weeks. Called for support, but tech is only available 8-5, as if all the other hours people don't need help with their system. Finally get scheduled for a tech appointment that's TWO weeks out. We had an incident of a stranger peeking into our home window and it did not trigger the camera. Why am I paying all this money for equipment and a system that doesn't actually protect my home? read more

Great installers and ok pricing. Their accounting and customer service could use a makeover. So many glitches which worries me coming from a monitoring service that your life could depend on. Horrible customer service, problems with billing still six months after installation, and customer service can't answer the most rudimentary question. They billed me more than my contract for the equipment. There's been one problem after another since installation in March. Run, don't walk, away from this company unless you have lots of time on your hands to deal with "problem of the month." There's apparently no extra charge for that, like the $1.50 a month they don't tell you about if you don't opt for electronic bills. read more

The latest problems with AAA Smart Home started in the beginning of February 2023. The main panel in the master bedroom is fine. The panel by the front door kept saying: panel response not received when I pressed the keys. Then the keypad by the garage had delayed messages so that I couldn't leave the house. The keypad didn't respond to my pressing the buttons. This happened off and on and I had techs at my house on 2/3/23, 2/20/23, 3/10/23 and 3/25/23. The techs were very nice and tried to help but the whole system is not functioning. They should have replaced the units. And to add to my distress, they double billed me for the first tech's visit.
