1) The gamja-tang was insanely spicy. I highly recommend developing a scale/choice of spiciness (i.e., plain, mild, regular, hot). 2) While they provided a generous amount of pork, there was only two pieces of potatoes and little vegetables. read more

All my korean friends recommend this spot. That tells you something. Order the army pot, the bimbimbap in stone bowl and order the pork bone potato soup. read more

Finally got to try this place out. You can see how good and popular a place is with the amount of patrons inside. It was packed for a Sunday night. We had to wait a couple of minutes before a table was available. There was also a line forming behind us of more hungry guests. The restaurant isn't tiny either. It definitely fit 40 guests. We were seated and ordered. After a few moments, water and banchan (small side dishes) were served. These small side dishes consisted of kimchi, bean sprouts, and other pickled veggies. The wait for our food wasn't long. I was skeptical about trying the bimbimbop, but thank goodness I didn't back out. It tasted just like how my friend's mother makes it. My order came with soup and salad. Be careful, it will burn your mouth if you don't blow on each spoonful of food. I got to taste some of the soup from my friend's hot pot order. It was definitely spicy, but very hearty with a lot of veggies, meat, and other ingredients. For dessert, they hand out free iced coffee. The staff is friendly and attentive. You may recognize some of the staff from Yogur-Lee-Hee. My friend told me that they used to own Yogur-Lee-Hee, but now A-Hyang. On another note, I can see that it can get vary warm inside on a cold day if everyone is eating hot pot. Overall, I will definitely visit again in the future. I want to order their hot pot like dishes. read more

I love to come here for their bone soup. Flavor never disappoints me. I didn't give it a 5 star because I think they don't have much food choice. Tried to order other dishes and they weren't that great. read more

This is my first time ever writing a review. I am a huge foodie and I use Yelp frequently just to find new places to eat (I recently moved back to GA). So it has been very helpful and fun just to use Yelp, but never felt compelled to write a review. I have been here a few times when I was in high school and visiting from college. I used to love this place and their gamjatang (pork rib stew). I used to go often when they had that Old Korean traditional interior, where the walls were covered with old movie pics, albums and news articles. I also have heard that it was the place to go in GA to get GamJaTang. So my bf and I went. Walked in and there were 3 tables in the main area and a party in the other smaller room. The ambiance felt awkward and kind of cheesy. I was confused because I couldn't tell if I was in a restaurant or a cafe. The staff was friendly and nice. That was the best and only good part of our meal. They seated us but there was soup stains on the couch so we moved over to the next seat. We ordered the 2 person GamJaTang. While we were waiting, from the corner of my eye, I saw a roach climbing on the couch next to my boyfriend. I almost screamed because I hate any insects, but realized I was in public. So I quietly pointed and thankfully my bf killed it, disgusted. Trying to get over the incident, we tried to enjoy our stew. I realized that the quality of the meat was horrible. Barely any meat and all cartilage and fat. Barely any meat to eat. I dont know if the quality changed because they do all you can eat GamJaTang, but I was so disappointed. My bf, who doesnt even eat a lot, was still hungry. Then of course, I find a hair in my stew. Then minutes later another bug crawls next to my bf... To end the "Wonderful" experience, I ended up throwing up 3 times the next morning. And woke up 3 times in cold sweats while sleeping, while my bf had stomach issues the whole day. To conclude, I was so disappointed and will never return again. read more

The Cold noodle here is really good, especially the yeolmoo cold noodle. The potato soup and budaejjigae is okay. I don't think I would go out of the way to order that. Service is hit or miss. It is pretty inconsistent, but overall the food is decent. It's an easy go to restaurant. read more

Had pork cutlet and sundubu spicy soup. Taste so good. Enjoyed my food. Service was nice too. Highly recommend!

Good, clean, authentic Korean food. It's very straight forward and there's no nonsense about it. Service is good and prompt, and the banchan is fresh and varied. My favorite is by far the Gamjatang (potato and pork stew). It's always very fresh and hot. Prices are very reasonable and it's conveniently located around lots of other Korean stores and groceries. read more

I came here with my girlfriend and we ordered the gamjatang ddukbaegi and yookgaejang soondubu, respectively. The portions were generous and the service was great, but a little slow. The side dishes were good as well. Would come again to try more of their menu. read more

I used to frequent this restaurant years ago when it first opened. At that time, the food was good, fresh, taste was on point, side dishes were tasty and diverse. So for our visit today, my family and I were extremely dissatisfied. I ordered boodaechigae. I usually order this when coming here. It was literally sausage, hot dog, soup, and the taste was quite lacking. My wife ordered yookaejang and it was also lacking in taste. My kids had the fried pork. It was actually good and the serving size was more than enough. The side dishes were limited and not that great with the exception of kimchee. We even found hair in one of the side dishes and let the servers know. This restaurant must have changed ownership. It is not what it once was. My family and I will not be returning. Too many other good local restaurants to choose from. read more

DO NOT make to-go orders here. I ordered donkatsu, and it was terrible quality. The meat was almost black as if it was in the freezer for a while. I used to go here a lot, but this was so disappointing. read more

This place has many different types of Korean foods. The portions were definitely more than enough. I didn't even get to finish my plate, so much food. I would recommend this place to people because it was worth my money, and they had a really good services. read more

Price = 3 stars read more

The service was much better than before. I may have gone on a bad day or a slow day. I got the spicy squid ($12) which was pretty good. You don't as many pieces but it's $6 cheaper than other places. The side dishes were again varied and good and refilled upon request. read more

I tried my first Korean buckwheat noodles with red paste here for their lunch specials. It was perfect for summer time! Not as spicy as it might looked like. The service is fast and super friendly made me comfortable to try for first timer. read more

Great place for korean food at reasonable prices. Their tofu stew is pretty good. They have a good assortment of banchans. Their naengmyeon (cold noodles) are super refreshing for hot summer days. read more

I came here with a group of 3 and we shared the budaejjigae, gamjatang, and the donkatsu. They all came in pretty big portions. The gamjatang was a little bland. The budaejjigae didn't stick out. It wasn't bad just nothing special. The favorite of the night was the donkatsu. It was really crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The sauce that came with it was more flavorful than usual, but perfect with the donkatsu. read more

I'm a big fan of the galbi tang (beef short rib soup) here. My typical experience at other restaurants has been that the galbi tang does not fill me up, but here, it always does. Not only do you get lots of panchan, but you get a huge bowl of galbi tang and rice. The soup tastes a little bit on the greasy side but I'll go with it since you get a huge bowl. They give you a mix of different types of beef (some galbi, some other thin cuts of beef) and the vermicelli noodles which are fantastic. It's only $8.99 and they have so many other good options that I haven't tried yet. read more

A decent spot for solid, home-style Korean food. A-Huang has quite a few competitors, and it seems like they do a lot of things pretty well but not much in spectacular fashion. Their much-hyped gamjatang is tasty, but not something I expect to get cravings for the in the future. A star docked because the place has no ambience to speak of and had a kind of strange, sour-sweat smell that lingered in the background. read more

I like to come here because the food is pretty tasty and affordable. I like the donkatsu and the soups. Boodaejigae and gamjatang is pretty good. Only thing is your clothes will smell like food when you leave but not a biggie. Definitely one of the better korean restaurants in Atlanta. read more

This is an excellent Korean restaurant with the high points including its late hours, varied menu, and extremely friendly customer service. There are the usual barbecue dishes, but for this go around we got spicy pork Galbi (ribs). The waitress prepared the stew on our table and was friendly and courteous throughout the entire night. Highly recommended! read more

I absolutely adore this place. Service is always perfect and my food comes out just the way i like it, hot and delicious:3

Yummy Korean food and a calm atmosphere that makes you feel like you're eating a home cooked meal! The bachan was probably my favorite part! The kimchi was so yummy and not too sour and the eggs are so delicious! I had the bibimbap while my friend had the tofu stew, and I'd love to come back! read more

the gamjatang here is very excellent and a great value. I really enjoy the pork, the cabbage, bean sprouts, and just about everything in the stew except for the potato that gives the soup its name. And it is all you can eat, which requires an iron will to not overeat. As the soup cooks longer and longer, the broth develops this really rich flavor. Even as my gut is about bursting from eating too much, it is hard to pass up the opportunity to eat some more broth. the banchan here are in my opinion not that great, but the quality and value of the all you can eat gamjatang makes this place a solid 5 stars. read more

I love Gamjatang. For years I've been looking for a good gamjatang and have finally found my home. I lived in Seoul of a while and fell in love with gamjatang. For years after coming back I imagined the day when I would get to eat gamjatang as good as I had it in Seoul. There were a few places (most of which I can't remember) and more recently I found Bang Ga Nae, which isn't bad. Then a few weeks ago I found A-Hyang. This place is the bomb! I can't speak to the quality of the other stuff on the menu, but man, the gamjatang is as good as it gets around here and the service is awesome! They even serve it with a dipping sauce, which higher-end gamjatang places do in Seoul. My only complaint until today was that it wasn't spicy enough and was kind of lacking in color. Then I finally noticed that they also give you a small container of hot sauce to add some spice and color to it if you want. Either they just started doing that today, or I was too busy devouring the gamjatang before to even notice it (which is highly probable). read more

I've been to this places multiple times so far I like just about everything that i ordered. I really like their generous portion and most of all I really recommend their soup dish. I just wish that the waiters speak abit more English. read more

I ate here with my mom, aunt, and uncle today and it was pretty tasty! I ordered the sun tofu stew (I think that's it's name) with seafood, similar to something you'd find at So Kong Dong. I asked for less spice, but when I received my soup, I almost started coughing due to how spicy it was- the people I was eating with agreed. However, it had nice flavor- the seafood was frozen, but that didn't really affect my meal. The other people I was eating with ordered the fried pork cutlet and two bowls of this beef stew that had potatoes in it. They thoroughly enjoyed the other dishes, I tried the pork and really liked it! It was well-cooked and the sauce had a tangy and unique flavor, different from the Japanese katsu don. Some of the side dishes change, but they're pretty good overall. Service was okay and we'll definitely return! Side note: it was pretty hot and muggy in the restaurant. read more

Awesome service! Awesome food! Servers are very attentive. I highly recommend the cold buckwheat noodle with a splash of vinegar/spicy mustard. The donkatsu is also the BEST IVE EVER HAD. Very crispy on the outside, juicy and tender on the inside and the sauce on top of it completes this amazing dish. Try it you won't regret it!! read more

Gamjatang here is amazing. I think it's the best I've had in the US. It almost tastes as good as what you can get in Korea. Oh and the donkatsu was surprisingly good. Honestly, it's way better than danmooji, which is a few doors down. The meat was huge. The side dishes were simple and tasty. Service is always meh, but food was good so I won't complain. I don't like the tables though. The tables with the glass and viney stuff inside. I always get seated there and I don't think it's the best choice for a Korean restaurant (heavy bowls, never know what could happen) If you ever crave gamjatang or donkatsu, this is definitely the place. read more

I ordered donkatsu and they told me that it would take some time... but I still ordered. But other tables that came in later than I did received their donkatsus first. I've been waiting for an hour. Apparently our order never went through. Ridiculous! They need to get themselves organized. read more
